Frederik Pohl was an influential writer and editor. As an editor he won three Hugo awards for best professional magazine. As a writer he won four Hugo Awards and three Nebulas. Pohl was awarded the title of Grand Master by the Science fiction Writers of America and is a member of the Science Fiction Hall of fame. About the author

Frederik George Pohl, Jr. was an American science fiction writer, editor and fan, with a career spanning over seventy years. From about 1959 until 1969, Pohl edited Galaxy magazine and its sister magazine IF winning the Hugo for IF three years in a row. His writing also won him three Hugos and multiple Nebula Awards. He became a Nebula Grand Master in 1993.

Struck in the head by a Pohl

Serious stories, stories of awe, fun stories. Frederick could write them all & this book has a great sampling. If U like old time Sci Fi, this should hook U on Mr. Pohl.

Great stories.

I really enjoyed these unusual stories by a very good writer, especially The Tunnel under the World. I will look out for more by him.

I've always enjoyed Fred Pohl's work. In this volume his story, "The Day of the Boomer Dukes" is a real standout.
