And when demons, shifter bears, vampires, and Nephilim attack the auction for the spear, Nate and Callie are forced to join teams, and one-time foes become hesitant allies.
Callie must learn where she stands as a wizard. Will she hide behind a man, or light Kansas City afire with a name of her own? And will she finally come to appreciate God? Or will the demons and monsters in the shadows take her for themselves?
Because Callie soon learns she isn’t just a wizard, and it was never just about the spear. Monsters have evidently been hunting Callie her entire life, and now, they’ve finally found her…

But she soon learns it’s just the calm before the storm.
Because werewolves begin abducting young women in Kansas City, and a new church opens its doors, pronouncing death to all idols, including these ‘make-believe’ monsters and wizards.
But when one of their congregation is disemboweled by a monster on the steps of the church with the phrase God is dead painted in blood, someone in the church decides to take a lesson from the Salem Witch Trials… And the police seem to be helping.
Callie must catch the killer before Kansas City erupts in civil war. A civil war she inadvertently started.
But she’s being stalked. By something unseen. More than one something… And with so many new faces coming to Missouri – gods, legends, and nightmares – Callie begins to realize it’s all someone’s sick idea of a game.
And that Hell never really left Kansas City. Or Callie Penrose.

The Vatican is broken… And Callie’s hearing Whispers in the dark corners of her mind…
One of the Vatican’s most infamous Shepherds has been murdered, and Callie’s friends are the prime suspects. To prove them innocent, Roland and Callie must risk their very souls…
Because Callie can’t reveal that she’s hearing strange Whispers when she uses her magic, or that she’s harboring an Angel’s Grace. And if the Shepherds discover the hellish bargain Roland made, the streets of Rome will flow with blood as brother turns against brother.
And with the Antipope pressuring the Vatican for change, and Nate Temple arriving unannounced to demand an audience with the Shepherds, things couldn’t get any more chaotic.
Until Callie learns of an ancient order of traitors hiding in the Vatican, and they’ll do anything to bring it down – brick by brick.

2 great books
Shayne Silvers has done it again with Feathers and Fire! Getting to know Callie Penrose and the eclectic cast of characters in this series has been an absolute blast. Callie is such a fun, strong-willed protagonist, and her journey is filled with humor, action, and plenty of jaw-dropping moments.
The first book, Unchained, introduces Callie as a mage-in-training for the Vatican in Kansas City. She’s supposed to uphold the balance between good and evil, but when a mysterious book unleashes supernatural chaos, she quickly realizes she’s in way over her head. As she battles angels, demons, and gods—and crosses paths with the infamous Nate Temple—Callie begins questioning everything she’s been taught.
In Rage, Callie struggles to find her place in the supernatural world while facing a growing threat. The Archangel Michael, demonic forces, and an impending war push her to her limits, forcing her to make impossible choices. Meanwhile, secrets about her past—and her true power—begin to surface, hinting at an even bigger destiny.
Angel’s Roar takes things to a whole new level, as Callie faces her most personal battle yet. With enemies closing in from all sides, including a familiar but deadly foe, she must embrace her inner strength and make a choice that could change everything. This book also delivers one of the most highly anticipated reveals—finally uncovering the truth about Darling and Dear!
One of my favorite aspects of this series is the incredible cast. Roland is absolutely awesome, and I love how Claire just rolls with whatever life (or the supernatural world) throws at her. The action is nonstop, the humor is sharp, and the world-building is top-tier.
I’m absolutely addicted to Shayne Silvers’ books. Whether it’s Feathers and Fire or Nate Temple, every story is a wild, unputdownable ride. If you love urban fantasy packed with wit, action, and unforgettable characters, this series is a must-read!

Despite her magic, Callie is an ordinary girl. She struggles with finding a purpose to her life, and with who she really is. Having magic, and being trained to use it by a Catholic priest who is disappointed by her lack of Faith, lead Callie to an auction for the Spear that pierced the side of Jesus and a massive fight by factions of the 'Freak' community. And not all are natives to Kansas City. Or even Earth. 3 minutes seems to long to wait for the sequel. 3 months is torture.
Book 2
Caught between the forces of Heaven and Hell, Callie finds new allies and new powers to help her fight to remain alive and independent of those who would claim her as their own, or have her die to further their plans (or hinder their enemies).

Callie learns the hard way that humanity is flawed, but people (of whatever freak flavor) can be worth having Faith in
Sometimes the Sinners aren’t the ones on the inside, it’s those whispering in your ear. And those who seem to be monsters are actually Saints. Be careful who you trust. Trust is a two edged sword. It can protect you from harm or be used to stab you in the back.

Callie Penrose is the most enchanting heroine coming to the pages of books in a long time. This series has it all: adventure, paranormal, supernatural, fighting, romance, and lots of magic and sass. This ranks right up there with the Nate Temple series, also by Shayne Silvers, and the Bedeviled series by Sam Cheever.
Callie’s trademark white hair and her sassy mouth (which gets her into trouble nearly every time) carry her through adventure after adventure as she strives to protect Kansas City from what most residents don’t even know exists. Her best friend is a polar bear shifter named Claire, who throws her weight around (literally) for the cause of good. I’ve spent many hours with Callie now, and think of her as more of a friend instead of a character.
If you like Urban Fantasy, give this series serious consideration. Callie is the ultimate female bada**.

3 absolutely riveting stories! Another exceptional series by Shayne Silvers!
Wow this series has all the bells and whistles! Demons, angels, shape shifters and regulars. Fantastic plots with wild plot twists and turns that keep you reading well into the wee hours. Well developed characters, so well written it's like watching a movie while reading! Loved every word!

I've been reading the Nate Temple books from Shayne Silvers for a while now and was getting towards the end of the series and decided to expand with Feathers and Fire. I'm so glad I gave these a read.

I enjoyed the first three books in this series. I haven’t read the Nate Temple series and was able to follow the story line just fine. However, now I may check it out.

I would definitely put this on the must read list!
One thing I can say about Mr. Silvers is he really knows how to develop a character! I was pleasantly surprised and loved that Nate Temple from his other series was a part of it. If you haven't read the Nate Temple books you can still enjoy this as a stand alone book. I highly recommend though if you do read and enjoy this book as much as I did, read the Nate Temple books too. If you enjoy adventure, lore, history and magic all rolled into a tale of growing into who you were meant to be, then this is the book for you! Callie has proven herself formidable against vampires, bears and of course demons! I can't wait for the next Callie Penrose book to come out! Thanks Mr. Silvers for giving us another great journey into your phenomenal imagination!
