God continues to perform miracles today! Randy Clark provides first hand accounts of a variety of miracles witnessed and gives reasons to be confident that miracles still happen. People often say “I will believe it when I see it.” It is this desire to show the miraculous with which Randy Clark begins his latest book. In addition to testimonials of others, pictures, and videos, Randy covers his own personal experiences with the supernatural miracles encountered all over the world. After thoroughly chronicling the numerous miracles witnessed, Randy then delves into the problems related to miracles. Randy refutes typical worldviews regarding miracles and presents arguments for miracles happening today. The book concludes with a review of opportunities to grow in the supernatural realm of ministries and invites the reader to look for opportunities to be used by God in a supernatural way.
Eyewitness to Miracles by author Dr. Randy Clark is an inspirational book of events to help the reader understand that miracles do happen today. The cases which are used as documented healings or true miracles are written with verified or documented proof of the before and after physical condition of the person and their medical records. I appreciated the medical or professional criteria which was used to prove that a physical illness or injury was healed or improved beyond any medical possibility due to the person's faith and prayer according to the teachings in the gospels of the Bible. Read the words of people who have experienced an event in their life which seemed to be beyond belief! A very well researched and written book to help the reader understand more about believing and the possibility of receiving a miracle in our modern world today.
This book highlights several eyewitness accounts of miracles that have happened all over the world. The stories read like eyewitness testimonies, they get straight to the point and don’t include a lot of backstory (like “Miracles” by Metaxas). Because of the similarity in many of the healings it begins to feel repetitive, but they are still powerful to read.
After the eyewitness accounts there is a section on Miracles and the western mindset. After reading all the eyewitness accounts it felt like a completely different book. The pace of reading slowed down as the subject matter demanded more attention to detail. All in all I think it was a good book, especially for those who are interested in experiencing the miraculous.
If you are a believer or just someone interested in healing. Randy Clark gives accounts of miracle healings as well as scientific information and information for the skeptic.
God hasn't changed, but we in the Western culture have acted as though he has. Miracles are still happening today all over the world. If you want to be used for healing, this is a great read. Randy Clark provides resources in the last chapter for those seeking healing for themselves or to learn more and be used for healing others.
Thank you, Randy Clark for your faithfulness and the glory to God.
Vital if you feel God pulling on you to draw closer to him for more than just yourself but to release healing power. This book is amazing. Kicking off with some incredible stories of transformation. Some Mental disorders, limbs etc and my personal fave dead raising. This part was incredible. The Second part Talks about the validity of Miraculous healing through prayer and through other religious means."
Quite often skeptics and Cessationists accuse faith healers and Charismatics who pray for healing for the sick as being fakes and charlatans who have no scientific verification for their claims of supposed healings. This book by Randy Clark provides verified evidence for the sundry healings that have taken place in his ministry and in the ministries of others like Heidi Baker and Bethel church. Will it be enough to persuade the skeptics? Probably not. But it may sway those on the fence who are still undecided. And it will strengthen the faith of those who believe that God hasn't changed in using supernatural gifts to express His compassion on the sick and win the lost.
The first half of the book focuses on some of the stories and accounts of healings studied. The second half briefly focuses on the historical events and people that affected how a large portion of Protestantism came to embrace Cessationism before moving on to a detailed look at how the author went about conducting the studies and examining the different variables within the healing process.
I especially liked the author's pushback against the naturalists' claim that the placebo effect is the chief element in such healings -
"There are three reasons for rejecting the naturalistic explanations, including the placebo effect as the only explanations for healing. The first is the surprise healings even of mockers and critics that have occurred in Global Awakening's meetings. The second reason is that the internal body-mind-spirit mechanism can clearly not be used as an explanation for certain types of healings or miracles. This is true for the phenomenon of the raising of the dead, especially where those who were raised from the dead were dead for more than an hour. Third, are the inconsistent prayer results when one person prays for different people. This one person might pray for ten people and see nothing happened to six, while two received complete healing and two receive partial healing, as an example. This causes one to recognize that healing is not dependent upon him or her but on the power or the energy of God that works through him or her, although not necessarily on a consistent basis."
This book surprised me greatly. I am very sceptical of televangelist type faith healers, so without a recommendation I would have assumed this book was coming from that perspective. It is not. It is of course written by someone who has been actively part of a Jesus based healing ministry. The book sets itself apart as the author has sought to provide evidence regarding healings but looking at medical results before and after (as well as long after) the healings.
As a book, the structure is non-ideal as the initial chapters read as a series of facts. Yet, I can respect what the author was doing. After providing eyewitness accounts of healings and providing a web site where further details can be investigated, he then proceeds to discuss diving healing from a biblical and theological perspective. This second part of the book was very good, and I greatly appreciated many of the arguments and discussions presented. My only minor quibble with the book was the emphasis placed on the final verses of the book of Mark (which are not present in any early document); something that I don’t think was wise or appropriate.
Ultimately, I don’t recommend the book to anyone who is a cessationist or naturalist, as I don’t believe anything will change your mind other than a direct interaction with God (and even that may not be enough). But for those who believe (or are open to believe) that God is active today, in charismatic gifts such as healing, I can certainly recommend the book. It fits into the special category (which is far too small), of books that are positively inclined toward charismatic gifts, while been sufficiently intellectually solid and robust for people such as this reviewer.
This is a great, faith building book. It’s split into two parts, the first being verified stories of supernatural healing and the second being an intellectual/theological look at the reality of healing... call it a healing apologetics book. The thing I didn’t like about it is for the chapter on next steps he simply used that as an opportunity to showcase his schools... but other than that it was a well researched book that will provoke, challenge, and inspire faith in its readers.
You can do this with Holy Spirit, but you need his power filling and flowing through you. You can not do anything without Him, but with Holy Spirit you can do greater things. It is in the Bible, those who say it's not for today are trying to control you out of their fears. So go for it take the risk be filled with the Holy Spirit and power. Step out and bring heaven to earth, Jesus paid for it, give him the glory, he and you.
Doctor Clarke has provided for me the missing pieces of the biblical puzzle that has remove the block about why I have not seen as a pastor the numerous miracles and Healings that we have seen in the apostolic church. The same Jesus still lives today but our unbelief and conditioning of Western thought has put a cap on the power of God heaven help us! This book is an answer to that prayer and yearning..
This is a very helpful book. The first part of the book presents credible testimonies of substantiated healings. The second part discusses the issues that have hindered the acceptance or measurability of healings and other miraculous signs. For anyone who is serious about pursuing more of Holy Spirit evidenced in power by miracles, signs and wonders, this is an important book.
Anyone of faith (or no faith) who has taken Gr 12 or first year uni courses will recognize this as the work of someone who doesn’t know science and hopes the reader doesn’t know any either.
Please don’t waste any money on wishful thinking like this, you will come away with a greater risk of being spiritually harmed.
I'm hungry for more of the Holy Spirit in My life. I wanna see miracles! I wanna experience them! And I want to pray for them! This book is thorough, yet easy to understand. Highly recommend this to anyone shipments to learn more about the miraculous.
Great testimonies and examples in part 1. Part 2 had excellent research and documentation... so I found myself skimming instead of reading the details.
This is a fascinating account of the many Miracles Randy Clark has witnessed all over the world. These include people being raised from the dead, others who are now able to walk, the healing of sight and deafness. Including one person who was born without any connection from the ear to the brain. This is supported by YouTube video of most of the people involved. The book then moves on to explain why these signs and wonders fell out of favour with the church. First in the time of Luther and then again in the age of enlightenment. I believe in Miracles and their validity and this totally reaffirmed my faith. I was given this book by NetGalley and the publisher. This is my voluntary review.
This book explains the authors belief about Godly healings. About how believers in Jesus Christ can pray to God and receive physical healing. Sometimes it's instant. Sometimes it takes a little bit of time. I found the different examples and explanations to be interesting. I enjoyed reading this book.
