I find the whole concept of laws of attraction fascinating, whether it's true or not.
I read The Secret a couple years ago and this book is based on similar principles except it explains it all very simply.
I was driving up the Don Valley Parkway on Friday morning. Usually it's jammed and I get stuck in traffic starting at Eglinton. I kept thinking "clear highway" ... and I didn't have to slow down once. Thinking "no traffic" would have been wrong since "traffic" is what would have been "heard" and I would have been given lots of traffic. When I got to the parking lot at work, I wanted a close spot and the best one was open.
Does it work? Coincidence? Or was it because it was March Break there were less cars on the road?
Enjoyed both the content and format of this trade paperback size book. For me, brought back things that I learned years ago, but have forgotten with time and age. Great book to drag out a re-read from time-to-time when feeling "off." Nicely written.
Am I the only one thinking that calling this book "The Idiot's Guide To.....", Isn't going to attract smart choices. J/K, I found that humorous. Book was well done but I thought what was said could be done with less words. It seemed redundant at times.
I tried to read this book nine years ago, but I wasn’t mature enough and was too in crisis to make these changes. Now, people in my life lead their lives with the principles in this book, and I’ve found it to be awesome and helpful. Read this with a group because it helps to discuss and critique each other’s language to help refine requests to the universe. Expand beyond the new age and ask pagan folk, Kabbalists, or call Dee Wallace’s podcast to meet people interested in aggressively creating their lives.
I didn't think this was very good. I'm familiar with the subject and I thought the way it was presented was lacking and not particulary well organized. I think someone not familiar with the subject wouldn't get a lot of useful information out of this.
I really liked this book. It's a straight-to-the-point description of the law of attraction and what you need to do if you want to follow its principles.
Interestingly, I'm now reading a book called "The Luck Factor" by Richard Wiseman, a British professor of psychology. The Luck Factor attempts to describe the characteristics of people who regard themselves as lucky in their lives. Most of what differentiates these people is their attitude to life and the resulting behaviours - which goes on to create lucky opportunities for them. That is, they make their own luck.
What strikes me is many of these attitudes are similar to those expressed in the law of attraction as described in this book, for example, positive mental attitude, a belief that good things WILL happen in the future, etc.
This is a great book for beginners to understand the Law of Attraction. Allows the reader to understand how he/she can use the Law of Attraction correctly. The examples are generic enough to allow the beginner to start to explore this law and how it can impact his/her own life.
