A survivor of childhood sexual abuse, Joyce discovered how to overcome the emotional pain of her troubled past and experience true joy, hope, and healing by applying God’s Word to her life. Her passion is to help others do the same. For more than 40 years, Joyce has held conferences across the United States and around the world, teaching God’s Word and sharing the message of Christ with millions. Joyce’s passion to help people who are hurting is the foundation of Hand of Hope, the missions arm of Joyce Meyer Ministries. Each year, Hand of Hope provides millions of meals for the hungry and malnourished, installs freshwater wells in poor and remote areas, provides critical relief after natural disasters, and offers free medical and dental care to thousands through their hospitals and clinics worldwide. Through their Project GRL initiative, they rescue women and children from human trafficking, provide safe places where they can receive an education and nutritious meals, and seek to let all girls everywhere know they are loved and valued by God.
In 2023, Joyce founded Hope Mountain Ranch, an 800-acre refuge in Mount Pleasant, Utah. Inspired by her own personal journey, Hope Mountain Ranch is a place where people can experience the transformative power of God and find hope and healing. It also serves as the hub for Joyce Meyer Ministries’ outreaches across the United States.
And [so] the Scripture was fulfilled that says,Abraham believed in ( adhered to, trusted in, and relied on ) God, and this was accounted to him as righteousness ( as conformity to God's will in thought and deed ), and he was called God's friend. James 2:23
It's obvious some people are closer to God than others. These " closer friends " of God speak of talking to Him as if they know Him personally. Their faces shine with enthusiasm as they testify, " And God told me . . . " while skeptical acquaintances grumble to themselves, " Well, God doesn't talk to me like that !"
Why is that ? Does God have favorites ? No, Scipture teaches that each person determines his or her own level of intimacy with God, depending on their willingness to seek Him and put time into developing a relationship with Him. Everyone has been extended the same open invitation to " fearlessly and confidently and boldly draw near to the throne of grace " ( Hebrews 4:16 ) . At this moment, you are as close to God as you choose to be.
I have several books just like this one, and I love them all!! It's so nice to read these each day. There's one page dedicated to each day of the year. I have plenty of time to do my thing in the mornings but I know some of you are on a tight schedule each day and don't have time to spare. This book is perfectly suited for you, in that if need be, the day's excerpt can be read very quickly and you can move on if you don't have the time to sit and ponder what you've just read, sort through your thoughts, and pray like I do. Sometimes it gets really exciting and I wake up to find out that the reading for that day totally hits the spot and is aimed specifically towards something I'm struggling with at the moment or something major that is currently happening in my life. It doesn't happen every day, but it's definitely exciting when it does! If it doesn't though, either way, I still enjoy starting/ending my days with these devotionals. They are most certainly helping to improve and strengthen my once long lost relationship with God.
This is an excellent book to read at the end of the day just before going to bed. It sets your mind right and brings peace to body and mind before going to sleep. The best way to begin the day is by spending time with God and the best way to end the day is to spend time with God and this is an excellent book to do so!
Joyce Meyer has a way of cutting through the clutter of spiritual wording...giving you the heart and soul of the thought she is expressing. This is a peaceful way to calm your mind and body before slumber. Short, beautiful and to the point...you'll be looking forward to the next evening's nugget of tranquility.
I read this evening devotional book along with its companion morning version this year. One very short page per day was so easy to do. And I really liked redirecting my mind to Scripture and uplifting guidance at the end of each day. A great way to shut out the events of the day and prepare for a peaceful night's sleep!
I really enjoy this simple devotional. There is one for each evening of the year. The readings are nice and short which is perfect for me as they keep my attetion at the end of a long day and I don't fall asleep while reading them. :-) Simple way to end the day before going to sleep.
Very good evening devotional. Joyce is always uplifting helping you through difficult times. I began this devotional halfway through this past year. Now I will go back to the beginning.
I’ve used this devotional for over 10 years. Every evening’s reading is like new. Wisdom flows with acceptance of God’s love. I am filled with more faith and hope for my life.
This little treasure has been a great daily connect for me to God's word and his truth! Thank you, Joyce Meyer for yet again delivering a great book and I love your straightforward approach and how real you are in your faith!
