Many young believers want to tell others about their relationship with Jesus but aren’t sure how to begin or can become rattled by questions. In fact, many young believers have their own questions about Christianity and struggle to find answers.
Detective J. Warner Wallace helps kids develop good investigative skills, so they can navigate tough questions about faith and share what they’ve learned with others.
As in their other Case Makers Academy books, J. Warner and Susie Wallace teach kids to think like detectives by reaching into their detective tool bag. While they search for clues to the real owner of a lost puppy, the cadets learn how to be confident in sharing with friends the truth of their faith in Jesus.
J. Warner Wallace is a Dateline featured cold-case homicide detective, popular national speaker and best-selling author. He continues to consult on cold-case investigations while serving as a Senior Fellow at the Colson Center for Christian Worldview. He is also an adjunct professor of apologetics at Talbot School of Theology (Biola University) and Southern Evangelical Seminary, and a faculty member at Summit Ministries. J. Warner became a Christ-follower at the age of thirty-five after investigating the claims of the New Testament gospels using his skill set as a detective. He eventually earned a Master’s Degree in Theological Studies from Gateway Seminary.
J. Warner has appeared on television and radio, explaining the role that evidence plays in the Christian definition of “faith” and defending the historicity of Jesus, the reliability of the Bible and the truth of the Christian worldview. Jim also speaks at churches, retreats and camps as he seeks to help people become confident Christian case makers. J. Warner’s book, Cold-Case Christianity, provides readers with ten principles of cold case investigations and utilizes these principles to examine the reliability of the gospel eyewitness accounts. In God’s Crime Scene, he investigates eight pieces of evidence in the universe to make the case for God’s existence. In Forensic Faith, J. Warner makes the case for a more reasonable, evidential Christian faith.
J. Warner’s professional investigative work has received national recognition; his cases have been featured more than any other detective on NBC’s Dateline, and his work has also appeared on CourtTV and Fox News. He also appears on television as an investigative consultant (most recently on truTV) and had a role in God’s Not Dead 2, making the case for the historicity of Jesus. J. Warner was awarded the Police and Fire Medal of Valor “Sustained Superiority” Award for his continuing work on cold-case homicides, and the CopsWest Award after solving a 1979 murder. Relying on over two decades of investigative experience, J. Warner provides his readers and audiences with the tools they will need to investigate the claims of Christianity and make a convincing case for the truth of the Christian worldview.
This, the third book in the series, finds the cadet academy kids doing a car wash. All of a sudden a young Corgi pup appears at Daniel's side. Where did she come from? With the name Bailey on her collar but no other identifying information the search begins. Detective Jeffries once again helps point the cadets in the right direction by teaching them valuable detective skills.
Not only are the kids involved with searching for Bailey's owner but a friend of Hannah's has come to her with some doubts about Christianity. Tiana's friend, Marco, has been reading a book in which the author declares that Jesus is not God. In fact that author has gone further, stating that nowhere in the Bible does Jesus say that he is God. Tiana is beginning to believe that lie also. Can Hannah and the others find the biblical proof that Jesus is God and present it to Marco in a firm but loving way?
We have read this trilogy aloud to our kids, using it as a daily devotional. SUPERB! There are extra online resources also available if you want to enhance the study. This book is written in a way that engages the reader with an interesting story but also hits home with the TRUTH. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. I purchased this book for my Kindle. I was not required to write a review but chose to do so. Thanks, Liz
Forensic Faith for Kids is the third in a series by the Wallaces. When I saw that the mystery involves a Pembroke Welsh Corgi, I was sold! (My parents raised Corgis when I was a very young child, and they've always had a special place in our hearts).
Even though SJ could read the book himself (and he did read a couple of the chapters on his own), I enjoyed reading it aloud to him. We especially enjoyed the visit the kids and Bailey made to the pet store!
My 9-year-old daughter and I enjoyed reading and going through this together. I really liked the piece at the end that describes evangelism like a baseball game where sometimes you're the hitter that gets the person to 1st base, and sometimes you might be the person that gets to hit them home because other people had already gotten them to third base.
Forensic Faith for Kids by J Warner and Susie Wallace with Rob Suggs is an easy read with good benefits. Through the story the reader learns good skills to investigate a puzzle and how best to solve it. The story teaches good practices for being able to defend your faith.
This is an excellent apologetics resource for kids. Even better, the author provides a companion course at casemakersacademy.com with activities, fill in note sheets, and videos.
I really enjoy how the book explains things like "what to do if someone questions the Bible” and how there are cases to solve. I think it’s a Great book.
