Stunning photographic board books, featuring masterpieces from the British Museum
Using amazing objects from the British Museum, this series of captivating board books encourages children to engage with early learning concepts. Inquisitive toddlers will enjoy learning their ABCs, 123s, opposites, and colors with gorgeous photographic images on every page. As beautiful as the objects inside them, these board books make wonderful gifts.
A wonderful board book showing artifacts from the British Museum representing different colours. Beautiful and interesting with information about each piece at the back.
I love the use of artifacts from the British Museum in a wonderful array of colors, which make it stand out from the usual every day items. The index at the back including the details of each artifact is invaluable. Bonus: you can scan the QR code on the inside back cover to find out more!
This is a book which is useful for all ages! Babies and preschoolers can look at the pictures, themselves. Preschoolers can learn colors, and there is a lot to discuss with the older reader. Kids, teens, and adults can learn about various civilizations throughout the world & throughout time! A classic book of art!
This board book on colors is not from the traditional perspective. It is made up of photographic images from the British Museum so it shows various works of art from jewelry, paintings, pottery, clothing, musical instruments, coins, and silverware. Each color is labeled in bold print with two to four objects representing that color also clearly labeled in large print. The 40 objects come from various civilizations, past and present, and includes an index stating the name of the object, its place of origin, and when it was produced. A QR code is included for further research. The inclusion of the colors of gold and silver is a nice addition. This book would be useful as much more than a color primer. It could be used as an introduction before visiting an art museum (for individual children or for a class) or for a study of human culture, anthropology, or archaeology.
I loved this kids color book. The only things that could make it better would be to have more examples per color. The last pages were great, as they showed an index of all the items shown in the book, and a little information about each. The qr code at the back was also really cool to "find out more about these objects."
