My daughter got this book as a birthday present from her grandma, and it's been a big hit. Marigold, a little bunny, has a day of fun with her Grandma. They buy Marigold a new hat, they feed the ducks, they go out to lunch, and get their picture taken. One of the lessons of the book is found in the story at the coffee shop. Marigold wants the lunch to be just wonderful, but she gets the hiccups, spills her drink, and forgets her table manners. She feels bad, but Grandma assures her that she is always wonderful. What a great lesson! Just what every Grandma is supposed to say about their grandchildren. I can really recommend this book, especially if your child has a special grandma.

The scenery and characters reminded me a little of Richard Scarry’s action-packed books, but Marigold and Grandma went shopping for a hat, fed the ducks, visited a restaurant, etc. And I loved it. What a great “I Can Read” book!

In the first chapter, Marigold and her grandma went to buy a new hat for Marigold. The sales lady put the hat on her with her ears out of it, and she looked in the mirror, and it wasn't perfect. And then she tried it on Marigold with her ears inside of it. The sales lady asked Marigold if she liked it two times. She couldn't hear so she didn't do it. Then her grandma fixed her hat up.

In the next chapter, Marigold's hat flew away. And there were people trying to get it, but a police lady got it. They put it in a box and then they went to the pond to feed the ducks. Marigold fed the ducks with bread two times, but the bread went back to her. Then she got mad at the wind. She said, "You blew my hat away, and now you're not letting me feed the ducks." Then her grandma said to try to make friends with the wind. Marigold said, "I don't think the wind wants to be my friend." Her grandma said, "I think the wind wants to make friends with you." And then they went over to pick a dandelion and Marigold made a wish. Then she fed the ducks again and it worked.

In the next chapter, Marigold went to a coffee shop. She ordered some things to eat and drink, and when her food came, she asked to eat some pickles. Her grandma said yes. She put her paws into the bowl and stirred it. Her grandma said to eat it with a fork. And then she hiccoughed three times. When the real person came, they shook hands. When they shook hands, Marigold's drink spilled. Then Marigold cried, and then the real person cleaned it up. Marigold got some carrot cake.

In the next chapter, they were so happy they were back home. They always stop at stores and look at the windows. Sometimes they go inside. They went to say cheese, and Marigold took pictures with her grandma wearing her new hat. I did this all without looking at the book. There were four chapters. -by Felicity

A young girl and her Grandmother spend a day on the town, shopping and eating. What a wonderful memory for the girl. What a wonderful suggestion for other young girls and their Grandmothers. And who doesn't love a new hat?

A nice story in four chapters about a grandma rabbit and her granddaughter having a wonderful time out on the town. Our girls enjoyed this book very much.
