Hold on and expect to be reel in from the beginning with the Amish Christmas Emergency. Alexa Grant, nurse practitioner, care deeply for her Amish patients and when one arrives late with a shot hitting him in the doorway of the clinic, the fast paced action begins and doesn’t stop until the wrongdoer(s) are caught. Lamar Police Office Gavin Jackson is working the case with his and Alexa’s life being at risk throughout the investigation of the shooter. Dana R. Lynn suspense stories never fail to disappoint filled with winsome, captivating, descriptive scenes and dialogue of the characters. Her research of crimes, investigating officers and the realism of the event caused me to be present with the hero and heroine throughout this vivid suspense. I look forward to reading more of Lynn’s Love Inspired Suspense books as they are released.
I received a complimentary copy of Amish Christmas Emergency from the author. I was not required to write a positive review or compensated in anyway. All thoughts are my sincere opinion for this well-crafted Christmas story. Grab a copy when it releases November 6, 2018.
I was privileged to receive and advanced copy of this book. It was a story that draws you in and you want to keep reading it to find out who the villain is and you will be surprised. Once you start it is hard to put down as you become involved in the characters lives and the investgation. Very enjoyable. My review is voluntary.
Action packed story that sucked me from the beginning and didn't let go until the end. Alexa moved to LaMar Pond from the city, trying to find peace after the loss of her fiancé. She was also running from a stalker, one who seems to have tracked her down, as she has been receiving odd texts. She has found contentment in her job as a physician's assistant at a clinic that also serves the Amish community, and has become close to many of her Amish patients. The book gets off to an exciting start when one of those patients is shot on his way into the clinic. When she received a message that indicated there was a connection between the shooting and her stalker, police officer Gavin Jackson got involved.
I enjoyed the development of the relationship between Gavin and Alexa. Neither of them had any intention of getting involved with each other. Between the death of her fiancé and her childhood, Alexa was reluctant to risk her heart again. Gavin had cut himself off from any idea of future relationships, thanks to a devastating betrayal. But Gavin found it impossible to stop thinking and worrying about Alexa. It was both interesting and frustrating to see him argue with himself every time he found himself thinking about her or envisioning a future with her, then pulling back. But each time he found it harder to do. Alexa was equally drawn to Gavin but didn't believe she had what it would take to keep someone like him interested in her.
Gavin also has some other issues, notably self-doubt in his ability to truly protect someone he cares about. I loved the protectiveness he exhibited, both in keeping her safe from her stalker and in his attentiveness to her diabetes. There were so many sweet things he did for her that he easily won my heart. It was fun to see the effect that his kindness and charm had on Alexa. She got rather adorably flustered around him. It didn't take long for her feelings for him to grow. I liked the way that she worried about his safety as he protected her. She also understood his pain when he told her about his past, but didn't know how to show him that it wasn't his fault. I ached for them both when Gavin let his fears caused him to push Alexa away. I loved the ending and seeing both Alexa and Gavin overcome their fears.
The suspense of the story was fantastic. The action was nonstop from the start, with the threats against Alexa escalating rapidly. I was on the edge of my seat multiple times as the stalker attacked Alexa's patients. It seemed as though he was always one step ahead of Alexa and Gavin. Just as it looked like they had it figured out, there was an unexpected twist. The final confrontation was intense, and I was glued to the pages until it was resolved.
Family was also a big part of the story. Alexa's childhood had been difficult, with the result that she never expected anyone to stick around in her life. I liked how Gavin's influence helped her reconcile with her brother. There was more detail on Gavin's life. I ached for him and the way he was treated by his parents. I just couldn't understand how they could be that way. Then the way he was betrayed by his fiancée and his brother was absolutely devastating. I loved that he had his uncle Leo in his corner, and loved the influence Leo had on Gavin's life. I ached for the loss that Gavin felt when Leo died, and the guilt that he felt over how it happened. Gavin's bitterness toward his brother and parents was believable and realistic. I liked how Alexa called him out on it and pointed out that it was Gavin that it was hurting the most. The interactions between Gavin and Sam during the book were well done, with the ending being particularly satisfying.
BACK OF THE BOOK BLURB There's nowhere to hide from a deadly stalker ... Can Amish Country Justice save her?

MY REVIEW
I hope this is not the final book in the series, but I have looked and don't see anymore coming in the near future. At one point I could not read fast enough! I have loved this series since the first book, such suspense and action, then you add the faith, caring and love, there you have it. Really good writing by Dana, she keeps you wanting more!
Book 5 in the "Amish Country Justice" series, carries on the characters from the previous books...BUT you can read it alone. The first book I read in this series was in the teens number-wise and that made me want to read the rest of the series. The one thing about this author is her writing got even better as the series went along. Sometimes you find a series you like but as the books go along, the plot is weaker, the characters are blah, etc.etc. Not so with Dana Lynn.
I love the cover! Yes it's pretty. But the opening of the book fits this story 100%.
Another plus is the way the leading lady does not know God. Wasn't brought up in church. But the way God is introduced to her is beautiful. And I love her first prayers. You ever pray and wonder if you're doing it right ? Remember--To God all prayer is right.
Alexa Grant has fled to LaMar Pond, Pennsylvania in an attempt to flee her stalker and start a new life without her deceased fiancée. However, things in the medical clinic she’s now working at do not go as planned when a patient is shot trying to enter. Then, the unthinkable happens. People she knows are being targeted and she’s now on the run from the stalker.
Police officer, Gavin Jackson, is called to the scene of the medical clinic shooting only to discover the beautiful nurse is receiving gifts and threats from an unknown assailant. Her life and everyone close to her are in danger. He is tasked with keeping her safe while trying to solve the case.
Alexa and Gavin are thrust together and must get to the bottom of this mystery with Christmas is fast approaching. Will they acknowledge their feelings for each other and stop the stalker before more lives are lost?
Dana R. Lynn has done it again! She’s woven a suspenseful tale that keeps the reader turning the pages into the wee hours of the night. I loved this story and the Christmas timeline. It added an urgency to it. The plot is well crafted and wraps up nicely at the end. The twists and turns were effective.
The characters were well-rounded and likeable. Loved Gavin’s protection of his “Lexie” and even though Alexa was under attack, she remained resolved in finding the suspect. She didn’t want the LaMar residents to be in danger because of her.
The emotion and sensory details in this novel are amazing. I could picture the snow and icy roads as they swerved through the streets of this small town.
I enjoy reading this author’s books and can’t wait for more!
I give Amish Christmas Emergency five Christmas ornaments. It’s one mystery you’ll want to dive into beside a cozy fire!
**I was given a complimentary copy of this book by the author in exchange for my honest review.
Harlequin Love Inspired Suspense Amish Christmas Emergency by Dana R. Lynn Right off the bat the first thing I’m going to tell you is that I don’t normally read Inspirational books of any kind. There not my thing. But I did pick this one up only because it was a suspense and I figured it was a sweet novel, meaning no sex and very little kissing. Normally I read heat levels of hot and scorchers but in the last few months I’ve found that those novels are not holding my interest to the end. I have probably 15 unfinished reads in my pile. And it’s because I’ve lost interest in the book. Because of that I thought maybe I should go back to reading sweet and mild romances. Go back to my roots of romance so to speak. I must say this has helped since I read the whole book. I finished it in record time. I needed to get to the end and find out who did it. As I stated before, usually I don’t read inspirational or even Amish romance but as I perused the book section at a big box store, the cover of the book caught my eye telling me that it wasn’t just an Amish romance. The cover has a horse and buggy on it but its parked in front of a medical clinic. Our Heroine is a nurse and our Hero is a police officer. So that right there told me it was more contemporary romance then an Amish romance. I really enjoyed the story. It was a great suspense with a stalker/killer that turned out to not be who you suspected. I like to be kept guessing till the end and that’s what this story does. And the heat level was tame compared to what I usually read but for me that was what I needed. A nice romance with a great happily ever after but getting there got a bit tricky. I will probably read other stories by this author.
This is an amazing adrenaline rush romantic suspense novel!
I loved going back to LaMar Pond, Pennsylvania. It was fun visiting with the police force of this small town again and seeing the growth of the officers’ families. Gavin Jackson took center stage for this visit and he was an incredible hero. He was riddled with self doubt and baggage which made him a very realistic character.
Alexa Grant was a wonderful damsel in distress. When the book opened she didn’t even know she was in danger. She had moved to the small town to lick her wounds after suffering a terrible loss. I was able to understand her pain and was rooting for her to work through it and grow as a person because of it.
The plot of the mystery was so well crafted that I was caught up in it and determined to see it through to the end. There had to be justice so that the citizens of LaMar Pond would be safe. The twists and turns that the story took were fantastic. When the culprit was revealed I was totally blown away and hadn’t seen it coming.
I was given a complimentary copy of this book by the author. I have chosen to write this review to express my personal opinion.

My review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense, Amish Christmas Emergency. This is book five in the series Amish Country Justice. I've said many times that I love Amish stories and I love suspense so I'm always thrilled when I get one of Dana's books. This story is well written, action packed and full of faith. You just can't beat that. You are going to love this one.
Nurse Practitioner Alexa Grant is concerned when one of her Amish patients miss his appointment. He is always early. It is snowing, could he have had an accident? She can't help the feeling that something was wrong. Noah finally shows up only to be shot as he enters the door. The police come to help.
Sergeant Gavin Jackson arrives at the scene. He takes charge and sends men out to find the sniper. He goes to talk to the nurse practitioner; she is the prettiest woman he's seen in a long time. As he's talking to her a delivery of flowers arrives for Alexa. It contains a single red rose and a threatening note. Gavin must keep this woman safe.
A journey of two broken souls struggling to find their way through a life that isn't going the way it should. Can they learn to trust each other and believe that God is there for them? God has a plan for these two a plan for a hope and a future. God has a plan for you too; a good plan and not for evil. Give Him your heart and watch Him work in your mess.
This book is subtle at the start. For you don't realize what is going on with Alexa Grant right away. Its like a snow ball rolling down hill. As it gains speed it grows bigger. The same for Alexa. She left one city to start over in LA Mar Pond. Then there is Gavin Jackson who has a history that alot of people can relate to. As the story goes so does the pace pick up. For there is two mysteries going on. The main one who is stalking Alexa and a small one that will sneak up towards the end. No I'm not telling, you need to read the book to find out. Its a great story once you get into the story. I have a hard time with the word Amish. Its a story about second chance for Alexa. For Gavin its a chance to let someone close to him after all the hurt he's been thru. Its a great book in the end and worth a read.
Action and Suspense from beginning to end. Alexa a nurse at a local clinic had moved away from a big city not realizing that danger had followed her. Her father had walked out when she was young, her brother being several years older than her didn't have time for her, her mother turned to alcohol, where is God in all of this. Jackson an officer with the La Mar Pond police department felt that the only Pete that cared about him was his uncle Leo. His parents only cared about his brother. Uncle Leo introduced him to the one person that care about us all, God. This story has bombs, fire, attempted murder, murder, kidnapping and a few surprises. It was nice catching up with the other officers and their families. Please give officer Zee her own story.
Nurse Alexa Grant has thought she left behind her past only to have it come at her full circle as attacks happen against her and her patients are targeted. Alexa thought coming to a small Amish community would help her to be free from her tragic loss of her fiancé and her ruined reputation. After one of her patients is shot coming into the clinic and getting a rose from an unknown person police officer Gavin Jackson responds to the call and quickly realizes that nurse Grant is in immediate danger. Grant and Alexa grow closer to each other as they try to figure out who’s behind the attacks. Will they survive to spend Christmas together?
Another great book from Dana Lynn! I thoroughly enjoyed this Christmastime suspense/mystery. It started off with a bang(literally!) and didn't let up. Trying to solve the mystery was difficult and there were a couple of really creepy moments that caused shivers. I really felt for both Gavin and Alexa and their painful pasts and was rooting for them to find happiness and peace. A great Christmas mystery!
I received this book from the author and was not required to post a positive review. All thoughts posted above are my own honest opinion.
This is my second Love Inspired book I've ever read, and it was another good read. This book had a good romance to it as well as a very good suspense atmosphere to it, I was actually impressed. I felt for both main characters, they were both looking for love and acceptance but they had their own flaws. They definitely came to a common ground while being in harms way. This is definitely a book I would read again. When it comes to love, romance, faith and forgiveness, I got something out of it that has affected me.

This is a new author to me, and I must admit this book certainly kept me on the edge of my seat! There was murder, kidnapping, stalking, people being shot and plenty of terror for the characters in this story. Alexa is a nurse practitioner working in a small clinic that also served the Amish in the area. When suddenly one of her patients is shot, the questions begin. Even with the help of the police, the terror continues. Who is the perpetrator of all this mayhem? Clearing this dilemma isn't as easy as it appears. I thoroughly enjoyed this book that kept me guessing right up till the end!
Amish Christmas Emergency by Dana R. Lynn is the fifth book in the Amish Country Justice Series. This book is action packed from the first page. I was literally constantly turning pages to see what kind of danger Alexa and Gavin would find themselves in next. This is a case with a stalker who has his sights set on Alexa. Any man who speaks to her can be in danger. This is an absolute fabulous read.
How many times in your life have you felt unloved/unwanted/unheard? Our characters explore these feelings, during a stalking situation that reaches out to all the town. In this novel, you cheer everyone on for supporting each other in the town, while wanting to shake some others for stirring up trouble. The author reminds us to focus on the True Giver of Love and believe He hears us. Enjoy the next saga in the Amish Country Justice series.
