It´s not easy being a gamer cat in a human gamer world, but when your name is Gamercat you know how to make the best of it.
The GaMERCaT is a slice-of-life comic about the gamer lifestyle from a cat´s perspective. With Access to a growing library of games and armed with an over-active imagination, Gamercat literally dives into popular franchises, tackles trough gaming Topics, and does a whole lot of raging into his head set, all while he and his friends fly under the radar of blissfully ignorant humans.
This book collects the first 100 comics in addition to bonus material and illustrations.
A very quick read as comics invariably are. Really sweet and cute references to video games, of course. There are several that I've never played, so I didn't really understand it, but the extensive Pokemon and Zelda ones are nicely done. I also love when Pixel calls out GaMERCaT on being snobby about his gaming.
I totally didn't see the adoption message with the pet profiles at the end coming. Very nice touch. I was a very proud cat parent for a little less than a year when a friend needed a place for her to stay while he lived with a highly allergic person. Turns out my husband is also pretty allergic, but we were able to take her back to her original owner cross country. The comics were a nice reminder of the time that Davide lived with us, and we now have a bunny! Maybe there will be non-cat characters in the future?
This was such a great compilation of such a good series. I am so happy that I read this. Plus there is an origin story in the end of the book that makes it so much better. I have followed Gamercat over the years and I have never been disappointed. If you like the series then this a must for any comic lover or gamer.
Love this book! Love the webcomic, and I’m proud to have been in the kickstarter and so proud to own this book. It’s cute, beautiful, and I loved the story of how Gamercat and his owner met! So sweet. A lovely book when you need some happiness, kitties and of coarse games!
This was cute ! I read it sporadically over several months and liked it. Some of the references I didn’t get, but that’s on me for not being a more avid gamer!
Love the jokes about Metal Gear, the silly run and the box. Loved how he found the kitten who had a gameboy. I liked how there were occasionally other cat characters and they became cute, close friends.
