Despite their powerful connection, Cash finally pushes Liam away, and the beautiful boy who stole his heart disappears. Soon, Cash realizes what he’s let slip through his fingers. Luna David is a true romantic at heart who was fortunate enough to find and marry her soul mate. Most of the time she considers herself lucky to have been blessed with having g/b twins, but they're giving her a run for her money. She's a stay at home mom and an author, so when she's not begging her little monsters to behave, you'll most likely find her writing.

She loves anything book, coffee or dark chocolate related and can't think of a better way to pass the time than to combine all three. She reads romance novels voraciously and while she prefers contemporary romance with strong Alpha males finding their soul mates, she's a sucker for any well written, romantic story regardless of genre.

She created the Custos Securities Series because she loves to write what she loves to read. Her books feature strong dominant males and the men they would die protecting. Toss in some BDSM and kink and you've got her Catharsis Novel Series, The Boys Club Series, and Kink Chronicles Series. She loves nothing more than making her readers feel a wide range of emotions with her words. And she hopes you enjoy reading her books as much as she loved writing them. Happy Reading!

3.25 stars

This is a tough one to rate. I LOVED the first 30%, was sure this was going to be a 5 star read. Until it wasn’t. I’m not even sure what happened, but I slowly lost interest and just rolled my eyes at the horrible roll play scene and got a toothache from the overall sugary sweetness.

20 year old Liam is living with his alcoholic mom and his sister. He’s just waiting til his sister graduates before they can both move away. When he gets talking with Tommy on an daddy kink app, he is intrigued by what the other boy is telling him. Tommy is looking for a new boy for his ‘daddy’. Tommy is moving away abroad to study, but doesn’t feel good about leaving his daddy without a boy. Tommy and Cash are not in love, but Tommy just wants his daddy taken care of.

When Liam’s sister finds out about Cash, she urges Liam to take a chance. She will go to college soon anyway. And that’s how Liam ends up at Cash’s doorstep, halfway across the country. But when the door opens, Cash has no idea who Liam is and tells him he is not looking for a new boy….

I really liked the first part, where Liam is hurt and needs lots of attention from Cash. There was lots of hurt/comfort and I was sure I would love the rest just as much. But when these two finally worked everything out, it suddenly got a whole lot boring. Not even the many sex scenes could keep me interested in the second half.

What also bothered me was that both Liam and Cash comment a lot on Liam’s ‘adultness’. How he was more mature for his age than others and how he had to deal with a lot of responsibility from a young age. But the thing was, he didn’t act mature at all. I never once saw him acting his age or older. And I’m not even talking about him being daddy’s boy while they were exploring their daddy kink. I mean, the rest of the time Liam was a stuttering mess who didn’t really think things through before he did something.

And I normally love role playing and even the scene that Cash painted with the stepdad and the stepson wasn’t the issue, it was the way they acted it out that had me cringing and rolling my eyes. It felt a bit OTT for me to be fully engaged and I don’t think I was supposed to burst out laughing when they started their role play.

Okay, and then one other thing. Liam is not that well-endowed and is ashamed by that until Cash tells him he LOVES small penises so he can feel big and strong. Now that’s all fine with me, but Cash insisted on constantly using words like small, tiny, and little for Liam’s cock so he could get used to the words and know Cash really loves his little cock. And I’m sorry but if I had to read one more sex scene where Cash called out how sexy Liam’s little penis was, I was going to scream. I don’t care if someone has a small or a big penis in my book, but to have the emphasize on the fact that it’s little really took some hotness out of the sex scenes. Just use the dang thing, not call it little all the time!

So a good start, but I'm not sure I ended up liking it. I am intrigued enough the try the next book in the series when it comes out.

4.5 Panty Melting Stars

When I started this I was quite apprehensive because Daddy kink isn't something I usually like. I'm also quite over the bdsm books too. You might ask, Why the Fuck would you read this then!? My answer...Luna David. I have loved every book I've read by her, and I was willing to take the chance. I'm overjoyed that I did. This was definitely more a Daddy kink book than bdsm. The roles and needs were explained beautifully imo. Liam needed to be controlled in and out of the bedroom. He's had to be the adult and breadwinner for his sister and himself starting way too young. He feels overwhelmed and out of control all the time. He needs Daddy Cash so much! There is a lack of communication that leads to being hurt between the two of them, and it leads to some heartache. However, once the rules and feelings are made clear, there is no stopping them. The sex scenes were scorching, and I found myself totally engrossed. I hope there are many books to come in this series, and kinda wish I had a Daddy Cash!😍 The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because everything wrapped up a little too nicely. I don't know if that should be a valid complaint, but it just a little too good to be true.

It started off so well. Sadly, it didn’t hold up to its promise.

Let’s start with the one thing that kept me going: the narration by Philip Acles. His voice was very warm, and in Cash’s (the daddy’s) case almost growly. Very sexy.

As I said, the premise was great: Liam, a 20yo, is looking for a daddy. He joins a daddy/boy app, and has almost given up hope when he’s contacted by Tommy, another boy who’s secretly looking for a new boy for his daddy, Cash. Liam agrees to give it a go, and Tommy prepares him for his new role.

When Liam shows up unexpectedly on Cash‘ doorstep, Cash isn’t amused and reacts harshly. Long story short: Liam runs away, Chash chases him down, and they decide to give this arrangement a go. It doesn’t work out well, because Cash tries to keep Liam at arms length. And Liam leaves. Again.

That’s around 50%, and I admit, that whole miscommunication thing started annoying me a bit earlier. But I persevered, and it got marginally better after Cash finds Liam again (and we get a VERY hot roleplay scene).

But then… the last 40% felt like a drawn out epilogue, with a lot of side plots and with -to put it bluntly- not enough sex or relationship development to keep me interested. Philip Acles‘ voice rumbled pleasantly in my ears, but I wasn’t really interested in the plot or in the characters any more.

So as you can imagine, it’s difficult to rate. The beginning is easily 4-5 star worthy, the rest between 2 and 3 stars, the roleplay scene 6 out of 5 stars. And the narration 4,5 stars.

Oh and there are tears. A lot of tears. Both Liam and Cash tend to get very… emotional, and it felt overdone at times that I couldn’t really take them seriously.

So IF you decide to read it, go for the audio. Or prepare yourself to skim a lot towards the end.

I enjoyed this one from Luna - not quite as Daddy / boy Kink as her other books, so this was more up my alley ! Cash certainly needed a foot up his ass after he let Liam down twice, holding his feelings and hiding what he really wanted. His fear of being too old was unfounded and Liam adored him from the start. Liam seemed to draw vulnerable people towards him and I’m sure the next books in this series will cover his friends Mattie & Carter. It always helps to have a little money to make dreams come true and given Cash was loaded, Liam could live the life he deserved. This really was very sweet ❤️

Urrgh. I'm calling it. Time of death 51%

After two books I've come to realise that, while I like the bare bones of their stories, this author and I are really not compatible. So if you enjoyed the Custos Securites series, please just disregard what I'm about to say and have a lovely day. :)

I DNF Trusting Cade by this author, but I love Daddy kink and with the promise of pseudo-incest daddy kink I couldn't not have a peek. And while the "mega-awkward-info-dump" style of writing this author drove me crazy with in TC is still here, it's been slightly more refined. Slightly...

There's still waaaayyyyy too much telling. Multiple months are skipped and then "wrapped up". And while that may work for some, I hate being told what to think and feel instead of experiencing it organically along with the character. There's also a lot of "talking for hours" instead of characters having actual conversations. That always seems like lazy writing to me.

Also, there's something to be said for subtlety. I don't know how many times we're told that Cash loved Tommy with all his heart but wasn't actually in love with him. It's said in letters, and multiple times by characters. But honestly, just once would have been enough. I got it. I understood that the author wants us to see how nice these people are, how self-sacrificing, how it's ok for Cash to move on and find someone else. But after reading it 5 times it starts to grate. And Tommy starts to feel like a dead ex-boyfriend that is hanging around and depressing the shit out of everyone. (Well, mainly me)

And Liam? Well, Liam was way to much of a martyr for my liking. Edit-added April 9 Maybe martyr is the wrong word. But he's willing to shoulder so much responsibility and yet won't ask for help. It might be his personality and the basis for his relationship with Cash but it doesn't change the fact that I just couldn't connect enough with him to empathise.

And his sister, CC? Did anyone else think it was weird that a 17/18yr old didn't bat an eye at reading Cash's online profile that should have stated that he liked pseudo-incest role-play, and other stuff??? She was all "'go for it, it's what you've always wanted". And I had my mouth open not quite believing they would share this kind of stuff about their sex lives so freely.

And then there's Cash. Cash is an idiot for so much of this it's ridiculous. I can totally understand his reaction initially because the setup for Liam to just replace Tommy was handled incredibly idiotically by Tommy. But the drama that followed...followed by the mostly "telling" writing style...didn't endear me to either character or the story. By halfway I was over it. I was over them.

And the crying. Oh, woe is me, the crying. There's just way to much crying in this. By almost every single character we come across.

For me, this started out fairly awkwardly and then moved into depressing for the duration. And no amount of kink could get me out. Especially when, after waiting...and skimming...and waiting...and waiting for these guys to get their shit together, they only role played as a step-dad and son.

It had so much potential but, for me, was a bit of a letdown.
“God, and there I was on your doorstep, all eager and ready to just take his place, like it would be that easy. I guess my age is showing with my pie in the sky hopes that everything would just magically work out with us. But real life doesn’t really have that many happily ever afters, does it?”
Who actually talks like this? *cue the eye rolling.*

This was...well, it wasn't good. The writing was terrible, the characters were more like caricatures, and the whole thing was honestly a little uncomfortable to read. Not necessarily because of the kink, which, I appreciated that the author attempted to write about a more taboo and under-represented kink, but the way they went about it was all wrong, felt unrealistic, poorly researched, and a little offensive. There was zero originality here and the author clearly just went for every cliche and stereotype they could think of while clearly doing very little research into the dynamic and kink she was trying to portray. Huge disappointment and I'll be avoiding this author from here on out. Thankfully, I got this for free from the Kindle Lending Library, but even that I'm miffed about, as I wasted my one borrow a month on this...

OMMMMG THIS IS MY NEW FAVORITE BOOK AND EVERYONE NEEDS TO READ THIS LIKE NOW.

the characters and the plot of this story were so good and so complex both characters have some insecurities about letting each other in but you can clearly see they love each other. In the beginning the way cash (one of the main characters) treated Liam (the other main character) broke my heart like literally i was crying my fucking eyes out. But I’m so happy they have there happy ever after.

I NEED THE SECOND BOOK LIKE NOOOOOW.

I must admit, I thought there'd be more of the kink but instead what I got was a truly lovely May to December romance between two vastly different people who were perfect for each other.

There is, of course, kink and it's pretty well done as I'd expect from this author, and the Daddy/boy dynamic is a vital part of the narrative.

It's a bit angsty and there's a whole load of dramatics which seems to exist to create the necessary tension required with the plot but, other than that, this is a sweet romance.

I won't lie, I would have liked more of the "taboo" kinks referred to in their contract but the one on page scene was suitably sexy with enough added "forbidden" spice.

I'm interested in seeing where this new series goes.

#ARC kindly provided by the author in return for an honest and unbiased review.

This book is daddy kink at its best. Cash is one hot daddy. Liam was so sweet and found everything he needed in cash. They had a bit of a rocky start but once they moved past that, it was amazing. There were so many great secondary characters and I cannot wait to read their stories.

Word of advice - have tissues ready and your schedule cleared before start this one, because it's a tear jerker that you won't want to put down before the last page has been turned.

It is daddy kink, yes, but even if that's not really your thing, you might still like this if you like angsty reads, self-doubting characters who grew up too soon and needs to be taken care of, and a care taking character who make it their goal in life to reassure his boy.

The story is well-developed and well-rounded, and it is so well-written that I felt everything Liam does, and I cried on/off from ~10% to ~80%, I think, because of his angsty feelings.

I was somewhat disappointed in this book. The story is okay, a little instalove for me and it made me feel like the big important CEO was a bit immature and for sure a terrible Daddy early on to Liam.... but the biggest let down was the lack of kink in a book that should have been heavy with it.

There is a lot of telling in this book. A lot. One really kinky scene and one somewhat kinky scene. That's about it. The word Daddy is said a billion times though.

I think a book this long that spends so much time talking about how their kinks align so well should have shown us that more than the few times it did.

Meh.

So I picked this back up and it finished much stronger. Though really it's 3.5 stars but I rounded up as this author does resonate with me and I like her style. I would advise for #2 to go heavier on the showing, and less on the telling and to be wary of the middle sort of slump. I also wanted MORE KINK. This is a Daddy kink and I wanted to see a lot of Daddy kink. The dynamic itself - and it is called out specifically so there is no misperception this is just a naming issue (like using sir, master, etc) but meant to represent the Daddy Dom concept itself. The role play was awesome - like super hot and that gave this book a full .5 star alone just on that. Seriously.

I have actually read all this authors books - so that's saying something about how I mesh with her style.

original comments So I'm a fan of the author but I'm struggling to pick this back up to finish. I don't really like either MC. Originally I loved all the hurt comfort - this is like sign.me.up but then IDK it got more boring. There is a lot of telling or thinking here and I just want more fun kink and to see it all happen. I'm going to give a try to pick it up in July as I'm going to try and finish all my partially finished books. There is like 50 of them - so no small task. I'll update if I go back to this one to finish. No rating yet.

I have no words as to how phenomenal this book is. What an outstanding start to this series. This is Cash and Liam's story. Their journey together is quite arduous however, they do find love in the end. They discovered early on they had communication problems they had to work thru. Cash because of his insecurities almost lost Liam and had quite the job to make amends. Fortunately he made amends in spades. This book is much more than Daddy and Boy dynamics. I could not put this book down and read it in one sitting. I highly recommend reading this book.

The DADDY kink is really not my cuppa. It really makes me very uncomfortable.

But hey, I finished and that's due to the very good writing and lovable characters.

I'll read Tommy's and his papi's story though. 😘

3.5 stars. I'd give this a 3 for the first 50% and maybe a 4 for the last half. I didn't love this but I did enjoy it. I feel like there is too much going on off page, there was only one role playing scene in the whole book and there were way too many pages about the mum and her alcoholism. I'll definitely read the next book tho x

I was impressed with how Tommy went about trying to find his "Daddy" Cash a new boy when he moved on with his life. When Liam answered Tommy's inquiry on the kink club's website...we met Liam. Liam hopes and wants, to find his ultimate Daddy who will take care of him. When the opportunity came, he was more than prepared and ready. He drove 600 miles and then he is knocking at his "Daddy's" door. Cash had loved his boy, Tommy... but neither he nor Tommy were "IN love". He took care of his boy, and his boy took care of him in return, but Tommy is now gone. A knock at Cash's door came at the wrong time.... but there stands Liam...a boy, who is calling him "Daddy". Cash thinks it's a joke and is so not amused and shuts the door in Liam's face. Liam is devastated and returns to his car and is gone. What follows is their journey apart and their journey together. The story swam in circles alternating between really awesome and "are you serious?" It took several, what I would consider, strange turns. When two people are so close and involved with each other I couldn't quite understand how Cash could not possibly see how Liam felt. It was illogical for me. For an experienced "Daddy" and a Dom he was almost clueless about how to handle the situation. Hang in there.... the story does get better again. Cash and Liam both had very engaging personalities that made the entire story one very emotional roller-coaster ride. I'd have to say that overall, it was a worthwhile read...but other than letting the reader know that it all started on a kink club app... there wasn't much kink. I usually give Luna David's stories 5 stars...she's good at this type of story... but this one...it just lacked something for me that I can't really put my finger on...but it was certainly 4-star worthy, and I am looking forward, to the next one in this series.

Spoilery Review Don't read if you don't wanna know stuff.
This kink isn't really my jam, but I loved these characters, and not just Liam and Cash, but Jake and Mattie and Carter and TOMMY! and there is so much promise of what's to come and I was super excited every time we met a new friend because I was like, oooh! Yay, another story! So I'm definitely going to continue with this series.
There were a few things that didn't work for me.I'm not really counting the kink, its not my thing so I didn't find the sex scenes hot or anything, but I did feel like it totally fit the characters and I appreciated their needs and how the complemented each other and found what they needed in each other, so while, not my thing, it worked well in my opinion.
What didn't work for me as well

I saw somewhere someone complained about Liam and called him a "martyr" I have to disagree with this assessment. He was searching for someone to give control to, he wanted someone else to make the decisions and set strict expectations, it was why he was perfect for Cash, but he also wasn't some freeloading, no responsibility having kid. He had shouldered a lot and wasn't ready to just be like, here take care of my financial and familial obligations, and I think if he had, it would have been less believable. There is nothing wrong with wanting to pay your way or provide for your family or feel like you are contributing, so no, I didn't see him as a martyr at all. Also, I think for someone growing up the way he did, all the sudden just trusting someone to do EVERYTHING would not be possible.
I really loved Cash. He hurt Liam and I love that we got to see that part of this, it hurt my feelings, that damn "blue room" and sleeping in the library and stuff, god it was painful, but I loved it and I think it further proved just how Liam really felt and I'm glad it shocked Cash to his senses.

Looking forward to more!!!

OMG this book!!! It took me by surprise actually. I thought it was just going to be all kink and BDSM and WOW was I wrong. There is such an incredible depth to this story. I cried so hard as the emotions of these characters washed over me in waves. Liam, he's been strong for so long. TOO long. Taking a patriarchal role when he never should have had to. I was so emotionally and mentally drained for him in this book.
I became hopefully for him. Saw a light at the end of his chaotic tunnel. It, or rather he, came in the form of Daddy Cash. Now, I want to talk in detail about this book but it's not possible because I'll spoil the story. But, Cash isn't a man who has it all together at first. He's all broken inside and he doesn't react well to Liam's intrusion. This is where the miscommunications came in. It was around this time I cried for the 40th time.
It was a book of evolution for these characters. Liam's growth, acceptance, resolve. He was such a beautiful character and stronger than he knew. He needed his Daddy. He needed the structure and rules. He needed to let his kink give him the wings so he could fly. Daddy needed to embrace his fears and not only be what Liam needed but what he was made for.
I can't say enough amazing things about this book. I loved every facet of it and can't recommend it enough!

Reread October 29, 2022

I read this again because I am about to read the second book and needed to be refreshed about the characters and plot
I still enjoyed it but not as much this time around. I know it's my mood, but some of the OTT behavior both heroes exhibited wasn't as sweet or endearing the second time around. I would have given it three stars. Maybe.
Since I am a moody reader I am keeping my original rating. I am anxious to see how the next book turns out.

Original review:

Let Me In is a lovely May/December romance with some heated Daddy kink. I really liked It and I look forward to the next book.

Cash Moreau requires control in all aspects of his life, be it business or personal. More than that, he craves that special relationship that exists between a daddy and his boy, he just hasn't found that special someone to spend the rest of his life with yet. With age and lack of any social life against him he's not likely to, especially as his current boy Tommy is about to leave him for good.

Tommy loves his daddy but is not "in love" with him which is why he's made the painful decision to act on his dream when a world renown chef offers to mentor him. Knowing his daddy, Tommy realizes his departure will hit him hard which is why he's been surfing the TBC (The Boys Club) app to find a replacement for his daddy.

Liam Cavanagh has lead a tough life though he's not alone as his sister Ciara has had it equally hard. With Ciara about to graduate high school and her prospects for college good, Liam feels he can finally look to the future himself. A future with someone to love him and care for him as only a daddy can. With local prospects not an option, Liam checks out the TBC app to broaden his search hoping.

* * *

"Daddy Kink" has been an interest of mine though I haven't read any to date. This one popped up on a rec so I checked out the sample and was hooked. Time for this girl to meet a daddy. lol

Overall the story line had different aspects that flowed though the individual scenes were encapsulated with the feeling that once a scene was complete it didn't have any residual purpose or effect on the overall story. That's not a bad observation other than it resulted in voids for me that I really would have liked to have seen followed up on and/or resolved.

The main characters. As I said this was the first 'daddy kink' story I've read that pulls in a degree of BDSM and taboo role playing that is consensual. Different strokes for different folks people which I loved being a voyeuristic reader of. I do want to include that this story does include graphic adult erotic scenes that feature awesome man on man action to savor and drool over.

Secondary characters do add value to the story and support the main characters but not to the degree that I would have wished. The epilogue though - totally rocked and had me in stitches. I do see the potential in future installments as multiple secondary characters make this a series I will be checking out.

My issues were more with the rawness of the story that is consistent with early works by authors. With time, experience, and confidence this usually resolve. It's for that reason that as I'm on the fence between a three and four rating, I'm going for the four as this book is encouraging for the future.

A book for fans of m/m erotic romance who enjoy 'daddy kink' romance premises with a side of humor though that comes only after a few tears.

Let Me In
By Luna David

Twenty year old Liam has been the caretaker of his mom, who is an alcoholic and his sister, who is still in high school for years. Now that his sister is months away from entering college, he's ready to move out. He's discovered after working three jobs to take care of and provide for his family for so long that what he really wants is a Daddy to take care of him in every way. He finds an opportunity to be a boy for a Daddy who is losing his boy, but when he arrives unexpected the Daddy he's already fallen in love with turns him away coldly and calls him a teenage freeloader.

Before Cash's boy, Tommy, moves out of the country to pursue his dreams, he's spent months trying to find the perfect replacement, and he knows he's finally found him in Liam. He also knows if Daddy Cash opens his heart, he would truly fall in love with Liam, but Cash blows it at every opportunity and hurts Liam over and over again. Finally, Liam can't take the pain anymore and moves into an apartment with friends leaving Cash to realize how badly he hurt Liam and that he truly does love him. But how can he tell him and try to make it up to him if he can't find him?

This book was extremely sad. I cried my way through 3/4 of it. The emotions are so overwhelming and so real. This is another book by Luna David that I count as a favorite reread. It does have a HEA.

Triggers: Physical Assault & Alcoholic Parent

I truly hope Carter, Mateo, and Tommy get their own stories, starting with Mateo and Jake. I want to see some more of Mateo's personality in action.

Four stars for all the hurt. 3.5 for the story
Liam hopes to find his ultimate Daddy who will take care of him. When the opportunity is there he is prepared and ready.... driving 600 miles and there he is knocking at Daddy's door.
Cash loved his boy but wasn't in love. He did take care of his boy who is now gone.
A knock on his door at the wrong moment, there stands a boy who is calling him Daddy and Cash is so not amused and throws the door in his face.
Liam, devastated, returns to his car and is gone.
What follows is their journey apart and together.

Until 50% it was awesome and then it took a bit of a strange turn. When two people are so close and involved with each other how could Cash not seen what Liam did and how he felt? It wasn't logical for me. Then the story gets better again.
All Liam's feelings of hurt were really great done my heart thundered against my ribs again and again.
It was a sweet read with a lot of hurt and I love that. A bit on the dramatic side. The dynamic wasn't what I expected it was more sweet than kinky... Cash and Liam had bot very engaging personalities. It was an emotional ride. For me it could be kinkier instead of all the sweetness. Overall a nice read!
I'm looking forward to the next one... I hope the story will be about Carter and Kanai !!

I so fell in love with this book! I am a huge fan of the Daddy link and it was done beautifully in Let Me In.

Liam has had to grow up way faster than he should have. Since he was 15 he has taken care of both his mom and sister, working three jobs to keep a roof over their heads. Everything he gets goes to them. He needs someone to take care of him.

Cash is loosing his boy. Although they were not in love, he is still going to miss this big part of his life. But his boy has other ideas. He finds Liam through his Daddy’s app and just KNOWS he is he perfect boy for Cash.

There are many ups and downs but once Cash gets his head out of his ass both Daddy and boy are in heaven. They are each others match in every way.

There is a big chunk of the book that focuses on Liam’s family and getting them all squared away but it just helps the progress of them as a couple and cements what being in a Daddy/boy relationship means to them both.

I cannot wait to read more the The Boys Club and see where all of the boys life’s end up.
