Wings of the Seraph #1

“Kid, the only law in this part of the galaxy is a fast ship and an even faster trigger finger. Welcome to the Far Rim.”

I spent my entire childhood dreaming about flying starships, and a few years ago that fantasy finally became a reality. I have a fast ship, a reliable partner, and a cute alien girl in almost every port in the sector. Life is good.

Or was, until I met her.

My heart nearly stopped the first time I laid eyes on her. She is a Velothi Succubus, a genetically engineered concubine whose body and personality are attuned to the needs of a specific person—in this case, a human male who isn’t me. Her long legs, her silky blue skin, her faintly-glowing eyes…I’ve never seen anything like her before. And if I want to score the biggest payday of my life, all I need to do is deliver her into the harem of a scumbag pirate on the other side the sector.

Oh, and of course I’ll forfeit my payment if I so much as lay a finger on her during the trip, even though she clearly wants me every bit as much as I want her. What could possibly go wrong?

WINGS OF THE SERAPH is an action-packed erotic sci-fi adventure filled with daring chases, heart-pounding space battles, and plenty of explicit sex (31,000 words).

Publisher's Note: this book is part of the anthology Wings of the Seraph: The Complete Series . The second edition (released 10/2020) includes many editorial improvements.

Sarah Hawke

Sarah Hawke is a prolific writer of science fiction and fantasy in multiple genres, including erotica, harem, and bondage. Her books are known for their intricate world-building, twisting plots, and fleshed-out characters—and of course their many intense, steamy sex scenes.

If you are interested in "pure" traditional harem stories, The Lost Fleet is the perfect place to start! Wings of the Seraph is a shorter, older series but also hits most of the traditional harem notes. Shadow of the Seraph features a rotating male and female pov with some F-F scenes involving temporary futanari, so avoid that unless it is your jam!

Her fantasy universe features many types of erotica stories involving bondage (Elf Slave, all the Spider Queen books) and non-traditional harems (The Amazon's Pledge, The Amazon's Vengeance). She also has two ongoing fantasy erotica series with intense action and multiple points of view, War of the White Throne and The Blade of Highwind.

How is this considered a harem so far? I don't think a lesbian can be part of a guy's harem...she's just using him to have the succubus. Author also seems to enjoy emasculating men and making them look stupid.

As for what men find arousing...no, getting our dicks almost burnt off doesn't do it. Try sticking a hot curling iron on your clit and see how sexually aroused you are.

It took a bit, I have gotten into the worldbuilding

I was uncertain about this book at the start, but as it developed I began to grow more interested in the plot and setting. I am looking forward to seeing where this series goes.

Fun, but short!

Interesting characters, world, and villains. Even though it is a very short read, I will look for the next in series and hope they become a little longer the more things develop.

Sexy story, by a woman, targeted at men. The author seems *really* confused about what men want out of a sexy story. (Based on the first 90% of the kindle preview) this wasn't it.

This was a really good entry into a series that is part Star Trek and part Star Wars/Han Solo mixed with a seasoning of smut. I liked this! Great action sequences too!

3.5 rounded down to 3.

Setting:
This story is set in a fairly standard sci-fi setting with the one important difference being that a select few people have powerful psionic abilities and one of the powerful governmental forces really hates such people and ruthlessly hunts them down.

Characters:
Cole: Our lead character is the young spacer Cole who is no stranger to breaking laws but is a stranger to working with other humans. He greatly prefers the company of aliens over his own kind and is really only interested in helping himself and his friend and partner.

Plot:
Cole and his partner are tasked with delivering some unusual cargo; namely an alien girl genetically engineered to be a perfect bedroom plaything. Predictably and almost immediately, the job goes sideways.

My Thoughts:
I have some familiarity with Hawke before having read a handful of her fantasy stories and the Shadow of the Seraph sci-fi series which takes place in this same setting (though later in time I think). This is largely like what I’ve seen before from her.

It’s decidedly smut forward but not entirely devoid of plot or characters. Hawke does very much have a type of woman she writes; capable and powerful outside the bedroom and extremely submissive in it. The harem aspect has not come into play yet with Cole only getting involved, in any meaningful capacity, with one lady but I’m sure that will change soon enough.
