A Dark Erotic Romance by Amazon Top 100 Authors Mickey Miller and Holly Dodd
Kelly I should never have fallen for the Mafia Kingpin they call The Executioner.
But it's a little late for that. Vince is rich. He's powerful. And he's my family's sworn enemy.
Especially after the last family murder. He oozes power and sex appeal, and he stays far away from me. So what if I can't get him out of my dreams? That doesn't mean we're meant to be. But he's relentless in his pursuit.
Dirty CEO is a dark erotic romance By Mickey Miller and Holly Dodd.
Hi, there! My name is Mickey Miller and I write sexy, fun romance with smart characters. My books are great if you're looking for a light-hearted, steamy read with some humor and a happy ending! Happy reading!
Ooh wee!! This was an interesting blend of sexy and smutty with a plot you can sink your teeth into. As the first book co-authored by Mickey Miller and Holly Dodd in their new series, Windy City Bad Boys, it served to titillate my senses and has me clamoring for more from them.
Like a modern day Romeo and Juliet, Vince LaRosa and Kelly MacNamara knew better. The Irish and the Italians have been out for each other's blood for nearly a century, but these two had had enough of all of the fighting and the dying. So when Vince suggests they pretend to be together in order to unite the two sides, Kelly reluctantly agrees. Neither one of them was prepared for the sizzling chemistry they'd share nor could they predict that their feelings would grow deeper for one another. All in all, their time together made for one heck of a ride.
Although there wasn't an abundance of character depth and some details got lost in the plot, this was a highly entertaining read. Or maybe it was all because of Vince that I enjoyed this story so much. Regardless, it had a bit of everything and as a smut lover, these authors had me covered. I even loved the glimpses I got of a historical Chicago and it's infamous gangsters, which helped to make this a worthwhile mafia romance read. I can't wait to read Connor's story!
Release Date: March 14, 2017 Genre: Mafia Romance POV: Dual - 1st person Steam: 4.5 out of 5 Book Type: Standalone - Book 1 of the Windy City Bad Boys series
Blurb: "This isn't over, Kel. Even if I leave right now, this isn't over. When I call for you, you will come.
Kelly
Vince LaRosa is rich. He's powerful. And he wants to boss me around. But I'm not about to be tied down. Not even if I might have fantasized about it... I'm independent, and I've got big dreams of my own. And they don't involve being second fiddle to CEO of Chicago. Vince oozes power and sex appeal. So what if I can't get him out of my dreams? That doesn't mean we're meant to be. But he's relentless in his pursuit. Maybe just one little taste can't hurt.
Vince
Years ago, I fell in love with a girl I made out with under the high school bleachers. Her name was Kelly McNamara, and her family hates me. She doesn't know it, but I never stopped caring about her. Kelly's family sent her away to college, away from the violence on the South Side of Chicago. Six years later, she's back in town, and I'm not the man I used to be. I've seen bloodshed. I've seen war between our families. But I'll be damned if I'm going to let a little bad blood between the Irish and the Italians stop me from getting what I want: her.
Can I rate more then 5 stars?! Holly and Mickey work beautifully together, this book went along seamlessly from the very beginning until the end. Vince being part of the Italian side and Kelly the Irish you know without a doubt there's going to be trouble when they collide. They agree upon a plan to make peace between the two families but things don't go as smoothly as they thought. This story is hot and sexy but at the same time we're given a love story and so much more and yes I'll say it again SEXY! Two people that were raised completely different have so much of a connection shared. You just want to cheer them on and see them both happy. Kelly learns so much from Vince and there's no doubt that Vince learns quite a bit from Kelly. This was an incredible story and I loved every word of it. Wonderful job to both Holly Dodd and Mickey Miller on your collaboration for this story. I cannot wait for more. This is my unbiased and voluntary review.
I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book (given by the author)...
3.5 Stars
Kelly and Vince are from opposing families and they are basically a modern day Romeo and Juliet.
Possible Spoilers:
It takes a little while to get into the book since it's starts off slow. I wanted to love the book but it was hard to follow Vince and Kelly's plan seeing how they really didn't do anything to promote peace between the families. They started off with a plan to fake a relationship to bring the families together, but all they did was go on dates and there were no conversations between the families to make a truce. Basically the idea was we are dating so now there should be peace which did NOT happen.
I did love the relationship between Vince and Kelly even if it was a little fast and unpredictable with their past.
Sooo it took a while to get into this book. First three chapters I was like uggghh. But then I was like "No. Don't give up yet." And I am so glad I didn't. When I read Playing Dirty by Mickey Miller I knew this author was unique. And I always look for uniqueness. When you first read the title you're like....oh ok another CEO story. BUT PLOTWIST. It's totally something different.
Vince De LaRosa is considered to be 'CEO of Chicago'. He is a made man in the Italian Mafia and owns one of the biggest sausage company in the US. But underneath the designer suits he carries blood in his hands. He is also suspected have been the notorious hit man the 'Executioner'. He lives his days as a business man and nights as a Mafia boss. Word has gotten to him that his high school sweetheart has come back to Chicago after being in college. He decides to pay her a visit. Oh, but he knows where he's going he is definitely not welcomed. That doesn't stop him though. Nothing can from wanting to get his hands on the redheaded Irish beauty that he's DEFINITELY not supposed to be with. Why because he's Italian and she is Irish. They have a century old history of rivalry. But he's planning on changing that.
Kelly McNamara has returned after being in college to work at the bar that was inherited to her. But she is not happy at all being back. She has dreams of becoming an actress and for that she needs to go to California. Tired of the same old war between the Irish and Italians she wants to get as far away as possible. But when the Italian handsome tall man, Vince, propositions a deal where they stop war and she gets to live her dreams she takes it. One question that she has come to is who to choose. Family or Vince?
This book was filled with really sexy moments, angst, and Romeo/Juliet type of love. I absolutely loved the characters and just about everything. Vince and Kelly's chemistry was too much fire and I couldn't wait for them to be together. These characters get down right and dirty and I loved it. Definitely smutty.I also loved how Vince always had Kelly model and have a fashion show for him. It was both sexy and sweet. Damn, where is my Vince?
P.S.I'm a UFC fan and there is one character in there who just reminded me so much of a pretty famous fighter right now....His name is Connor McGregor who is Irish. And then there's Connor McGrath who is also Irish. So....was this on purpose? If so I'm sold. I love Connor McGregor and even this Connor McGrath who has similarities to him. Geniuses!!! I reallly need the next book! And I hope to see more of Vince and Kelly.
I received an ARC of this book from Mickey Miller in exchange for an honest review. Thank you Mickey!
This is a love story between two forbidden lovers; enemies. It's a Chicago Irish vs Italian kind of feud, where the Irish Princess falls for the head of the Italian Mafia. Sounds like a fabulous, match-made-in-heaven plan right? Well...
First, the characters needed more depth. The one thing that kept nagging in my mind was "Why do they always say the same thing?" They get quite repetitive, and it gets bothersome at times. In addition, there are some scenes where they act like teenagers, which may work in another setting, but for me, it just didn't fit with their personalities.
Second, I felt as though when Connor dropped THE bomb, Kelly would have reacted a lot worse, but instead, had like a thirty second "moment" and was fine. That didn't sit right with me. I found that throughout the novel, Kelly just acted in odd ways. She would freak out about comparatively small things, and would take huge things in strides. She also never really stuck to her plans - and as someone who plans and sets goals, not going to work for me. Like, why even try to tell herself something, when she clearly won't follow it through.
However, LOVED the concept, and can I say that Connor is my favourite character? He is probably the smartest of them all - surprisingly - and cannot wait to read more about him!
Overall, a few snags for me, but I look forward to what Holly and Mickey have in store for us!
This book was so enticing from the very beginning! The story is so much like a modern day Romeo and Juliet that I really loved every minute of it that much more. Kelly and Vince have such an in-depth past that it makes their future so significant. Everything about their story is heart wrenching, but it's all written so well. There are also some VERY hot situations in this book so it really is quite a well rounded book!!
I absolutely love this book!I am a huge fan of Mickey and Holly and the fact that they have written this creation together, makes me one happy lady. You would not be able to guess that this book was written by two people as the writing styles are amazingly similar and just flows so well. This is a mafia story like no other, Vince and Kelly are from opposite sides but come up with a plan to unite the people of Chicago. It all goes well until it doesn't and then what will Vince do to get his Bunny back? These two are absolutely sexy together and I love how truly dirty it all is. Can't wait for the next book in the series. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.
My Review: Vince and Kelly were some interesting characters in which I loved from the very beginning. Their families have been feuding for quite some time and they want to put an end to it in which I don't want spoil anyone who hasn't read it yet so I wont, but overall I absolutely loved everything about it. Mickey and Holly should work together more often cause their writing styles mesh so well together and I cant wait to see whats up their sleeve next.
"Why, you sound worried about me." "I'm not. I just don't want to have to hose your blood off the sidewalk."
Loved it! Loved it! Loved it!
I've read pretty much everything Mickey Miller has written - and I've loved them all. But, I have to say, Dirty CEO, co-written with Holly Dodd has got to be my favorite!
Kelly McNamara is back from college and expected to take her place in the family business - one that isn't quite on the up and up. She wants no part of it, and is biding her time until she can leave for California to pursue her real dream. She's tired of the endless rivalry and all-out war of hatred between her Irish family, and the Italians over control and territory. She's mapped out her escape - until the one man that can send her on a detour re-enters her life. Vince LaRosa. With their families at odds, can they finally put the blood-shed to an end together? Or will they end up as collateral damage in this endless war? When their plan turns a little to real, will it be her heart that ends up in sacrifice? If she's forced to choose, will she choose Vince or her family?
Vince LaRosa is known as the CEO of Chicago. He's got his hands in everything - from businesses, both legitimate and illegal, to politicians and law enforcement. His reputation of ruthlessness precedes him. His one soft spot is her. Kelly McNamara. Friends since they were kids, she was the one that almost WAS the one - and now she's back. He wants her, despite their feuding families. He wants to end this war, and soon. He's had enough. With a plan, can the two of them unite the two families at last? Will he finally be able to get what he's wanted all this time? When Kelly finally realizes what he's done, and how it has destroyed her family, can she ever forgive him?
I really enjoyed these characters. Vince is so bad, but he's so sexy. You can't help but see the man he hopes to become lurking somewhere in there, and how hard he is working to let him out. Kelly is both strong and vulnerable all at the same time. I loved the banter between these two, neither pulling punches, and pushing each other's buttons. And the steam? Holy hotness! I swear, my reading glasses fogged up more than once!!
This was a great story, with great characters, humor, suspense, secrets, love, friendship and more! I highly recommend this one!
After growing up with the love of your life but not being able to be with her due to the feud that your families have. It's like the Montagues and Capulets all over again, but with a Mafia twist. Lol. Cray Cray right? Well, you have no freaking clue!!!
You have Vince, who is next in line to follow his father's footsteps to run his Empire. Then you have Kelly, who also is expected to follow her father's footsteps with running their family business as well. The feuds between the Italians and Irish becomes too much and unbearable.
At the end of the day, all Vince wants is to finish what he and Kelly started in high school before having his world pulled from under his feet and having to take on his family responsibilities. Vince wants the feuds to come to an end and be able to give him and Kelly a fighting chance. Did they know that it would be so hard to do that? Did they know that they would have to basically pull teeth to get it done?
Not at all. You will have to grab this and read it, and I suggest doing so before Book #2 comes out, because I am so excited to see how that will unfold. One clicker and One hand reader for sure!!!!
First off Love Mickey Miller and his books. Holly is new to me but this book they co-wrote was absolutely incredible. The story line of the Italian Mob and Irish Mafia keeps you on the edge to see what will happen. A story about two families who have been against each other for decades only to realize the Mob son and the Mafia daughter secretly have been crushing on each other for a very long time. Vince who is the head of the Italians has always had a thing for Kelly the daughter of the Mafia Boss. They think they have the perfect idea to try and bring peace between their families only to realize it backfires when their true feelings start to show. If you want to know more grab your copy today to see what happens
Loved every second!! Hot as Hades Romeo and Juliet that I could not put down even if I wanted to!! As always this Author never disappoints, and I always enjoy the alpha males and the strong female leads. Blush worthy, fun, and well worth the read each and every time!! I thank the Author for providing a copy to review!!
I couldn’t get into it the sex scenes were fantastic but that the only thing I enjoyed to much push and pull. Obviously you like push and pull in a book but this one had too much. Maybe it’s just me and you might want enjoy it so get it if you have Kindle Unlimited to be safe.
Received this ARC copy from the authors for an honest review. This review was completed for My Timeout Book Blog by Melissa.
Dirty CEO comes to us from the co-writing team of Mickey Miller and Holly Dodd. I have to say that I tend to stay away from co-writes as I have read a few in which really did not feel like the authors wrote well together. Well, That is the complete opposite for Mickey and Holly. Having read books by both authors before I found that it was completely impossible to figure out which author wrote what. If you had not known that it was co-written in my opinion you would never know.
I found that once I started to read I just did not want to put it down.
This is the story of two people who should not be together due to who their families are, even if it starts off as something just to bring those two worlds together. Kelly is the daughter of a higher up in the Irish Mob and is being trained to take over the family bar and money laundering business. While Vince is not only Italian Mafia but the head of it in Chicago (*I think I may have this wrong, please excuse me if I do). Having known each other when they were in high school, they come back together when Kelly returns from collage. With a war brewing between the two groups, Vince suggests that Holly pretends to be his girlfriend to try and calm situation. Only how long can the relationship stay fake when there is some intense attraction between the two. Read the book and find out for yourself.
I loved both the main characters of Kelly and Vince. There is so many thigs I could say to describe both of them but I will just say that they are the perfect match for one another. They bring out new characteristic and changes in each other. And sweet lord the heat between these two is intense. This book has some of the hottest scenes I have read in a while.
The only this that left me disappointed and a little upset that it was over. I honestly did not want it to end. I could read about these two forever. I can not wait to see where the next novel in this series is going to take us.
Five stars for Dirty CEO because that is the most I could give. You must read this book, it is a fantastic escape from your life into the world of Kelly and Vince. Keep the stories coming Holly and Mickey. You two make an outstanding team!
Love this story! Mickey Miller and Holly Dodd did a great work together in writing this second chance romance with a Romeo and Juliet twist. And I was hooked from the very first page! Kelly and Vince knew each other from childhood and yet how many times sparks would fly between them, they could not get together with the constant wars between their families. Years later, when they meet again,Kelly is working in the family bar along with her brothers and Vince is the head of his family business. This time Vince decides to end all the conflicts between the Irish mob and the Italian mafia for once. But for that he needs the help of Kelly. He wants them to have a fake relationship to bring their families together. After all how difficult can that be? Well now when their attraction is stronger, and both of them realise their feelings for each other run deeper, they might be in more trouble than they ever anticipated! Can they succeed in their mission or will their feelings take over everything and become something more than pretense?
I love Holly Dodds writing style. Humorous, light & sexy. But this was a first for me by Mickey Miller and the duo did a great job on the collaboration.
Kelly's back in town after graduating college and Vince decides to come and pay her a visit. Once they meet again the sparks fly. They decide to fake a relationship to try and form a truce in the dueling families. Kelly is the daughter of a Irish mob honcho and Vince is part of the Italian mafia. Only problem is they didn't count on feelings getting involved. They were great together even though they tried to deny the way they felt at every turn.
This book had fair amounts of humor, heat & twists that will keep you reading throughout the book without getting bored.
Mickey and Holly did an awesome job collaborating on this book. I love Mafia stories and this was one that kept me engaged and engrossed. It was hot, well written and reeled me in from the first page. I would recommend this book.
I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
Wow what can i say apart from way to go mickey, this book has a bit of everything in it, i love how Kelly and Vince get together, how they are trying to put the wrongs right, they both come from mobster backgrounds so will it work they have a few hurdles to overcome. This is a great story couldn't put it down loved it
Oh holy Mary mother of god, WOW! I had the opportunity to read this book as an ARC. When the Irish and the Italians get together, BOOM!! explosions, I loved this book from start to finish, when Vince head of the Mob and Kelly the Mafia Princess try to put a seize fire a feud going back centuries, by having a fake romance, you can tell what the outcome will be, but true to fashion nothing like that ever goes smoothly, this book is 100% hot hot hot, and i seriously cant wait for book 2...I give the book 5 extremely hot stars *****
Dirty CEO by Mickey Miller and Holly Dodd is remarkably well-written with a great mix of suspense, secrets, angst, drama, sizzling chemistry, a few twists, romance, love, and of course some extremely hot, steamy, panty-melting, toe-curling, sex. This duo weaved a story that flowed so smoothly, you'd think it was written by one person. I look forward to reading more books by these two amazing authors.
I volunteered to review an advanced readers copy of this book.
Kelly and Vince went to school together. They were always hanging out with one another. They're from the mafia & on two different sides. Kelly is Irish and Vince is Italian. Vince is now the head of the mob. Kelly doesn't want to come back to the family. She wants to move as far away as she can. I loved how this book turns out. I felt like part of the story plot. I just couldn't put this book down. Mr. Miller is an amazing author.
DNF. I really liked another book by these two authors. However this one lost me at 24 yr old virgin, and how quickly she was ready to let that go. Was expecting more tension between the two leads, but it was too easy. I didn’t understand why they called it a fake relationship when both wanted a real one. Just wasn’t feeling this one.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I struggled to finish this one. It was eye rolling. I almost felt embarrassed for the authors. Mob and movie families still operating in Chicago. A fake relationship between the families turning real and lots of overused "sausage" references.
This was my first Mickey Miller book and I say was because I've already got the 2nd book to this series, and to say the least, I was impressed. 95% of the romance novels I've read were all by women, not that I have nothing against male romance authors, I just haven't came across one that was able to write from a female POV and nail it, at least for me, Miller nailed it. He wrote from male and female POV in 'Dirty CEO' and I appreciate that he didn't make the female character a damsel in distress and naive - he made her rough around the edges, but still soft in heart. I also like the emotions that flowed with the male character - he managed to actually make the man have feelings but kept him dirty and alpha all around. You hear that guys? You can still be a caveman for your woman AND express how you feel! Well anyways, here's my review for Dirty CEO: First off, don't let the title fool you, this isn't your typical CEO Billionaire romance. Think Romeo and Juliet for the modern day minus a couple of things, but you get the idea: Two lovers from two different backgrounds, who try to make things between their families work so they can live happily ever after.
Italian Stallion (sorry, had to throw that one in) Vince De LaRosa is the 'CEO of Chicago'. He is a made man in the Italian Mafia and owns one of the biggest sausage company in the US (yes there's a pun intended in there lol). His dark past as 'The Executioner' has bloodied his hands but now he's trying to set things straight and build a better future for Chicago by being a business man by day, and mafia boss at night - minus the Executioner part. Once he hears his high school best friend (aka sweetheart/crush) is back in town after being away for college, he decides that a visit is long over do. Enter Irish Lass Kelly McNamara
Kelly McNamara has returned to Chicago after being away, to work at the pub that is owned by her father and soon to be inherited to her, BUT this isn't what Kelly wants nor does she plan on taking over the family pub, instead, Kelly plans to pursue her dreams of moving to California and start her acting career once summer is over. Not only does she want to pursue her dreams but because of the Irish and Italian war that's been going on for years, she want to get out of Chicago and get far away from it all as possible as soon as she can, despite her over bearing father and brother.
However, fate does have it's own plan and it comes to in the form of Vince walking into her pub (FYI he does NOT get a warm welcome, remember, there's a war going on) and propositioning her; here's the deal, Kelly teams up with Vince to put a stop to this old a** war and he'll give her whatever she needs to live her dreams in Cali. Without even thinking, Kelly blurts that his idea won't work even if they were dating......BAM! Vince sweetens the deal by saying they 'fake' date, have a relationship for the summer, the crimes will start to go down, the war will be over, and with the summer is done, she can go to Cali and become an actress.
The fact that he's Italian and she is Irish doesn't stop him from making Kelly his and that doesn't stop her from having such strong emotions for Vince...ah, two star crossed lovers, battling a war together, romantic right? Well, you will get the romance part, the very sexy (and dirty) scenes, some angst, and bits of dark secrets in 'Dirty CEO', and if that tickles your pickle then pick up this read.
I enjoyed the characters - kinda hope I Miller comes out with something about Kelly's brothers or at least Tommy, if he hasn't already because I sense there's something story there that made him all angry and grrrrr. Aside from that, I loved the chemistry between Vince and Kelly, it was super hot and honestly, Vince's raw emotions towards Kelly made me love him even more. There's nothing sexier than a man who is unapologetic about the way he feels. Well, defiantly recommend - now if you excuse me, I have Hot Blooded Prizefighter waiting for me on my Kindle...OH and that Hot Blooded Prizefighter is Connor McGrath (I'm assuming, although in 'Dirty CEO' is was McGregor and that was a small typo, they're the same person and that means he's Kelly's cousin. Plus, it's the 2nd book in the series so there's that).
DIRTY CEO - SIZZLES WITH THE PASSION OF TABOO TRUE LOVE - This story takes you into the intriguing risky business underworld of the Irish and Italian Mafia. Behind the provocative romance is a gem-of-a story that enticed me to keep turning pages until the fabulous conclusion savoring every minute of this captivating story. Inside; suspense, action, family drama, heart-rending moments, danger, humor, life-threatening incidents, and intense luscious romance.
Kelly and Vince were best friends in school, went their separate ways, now Kelly is home from college working at the family bar. Vince is called the CEO of Chicago, has a haunted past he would like to forget, but his desires for Kelly have never diminished. Vince has a plan - to stop the fighting between the Italians & Irish. Their story is a quite a roller coaster ride and getting to their happy ending means conquering all the obstacles that stand in their way.
THRILLING; I have read Mickey's work but I am new to Holly and this story melded together perfectly for me. The cast of characters come to life with powerful vivid scene descriptions. I believed the romance between Vince and Kelly as their devotion shines for each other and is quite strong. The humor was fantastic, there were moments that tugged my heart and at times I was a bit on edge too. I enjoyed visualizing certain scenes as they played out; was elated at the conclusion. Finding this to be a most gratifying read; {Of my own volition without any stipulations, I reviewed an advanced reader copy.}
This story is hot and sexy! If you like hot and steamy passion, scorching hot intimate scenes that are awe-inspiring, then this book is for you. The story held my attention and was exciting, but also was heartwarming and emotional. I was enthralled with the characters of Vince LaRosa and Kelly MacNamara. I loved how the romantic relationship builds between the two protagonists. A poignant story about two powerful families—Italian and Irish—where Vince was expected and did take over his family business as CEO of Chicago (Mafia) and Kelly, the only daughter, was expected to take over her father’s business—Kelly has other plans—move to California. Vince and Kelly grew up together, but because their families are always at odds—Italians and Irish—and it was forbidden for them to see one another. Kelly finds herself quite attracted to Vince and the feeling is mutual with some sizzling chemistry that is off-the-chart hot!! There is one problem—this could cause war between their families. Vince makes a proposition to Kelly in hopes of neutralizing tension between the families. Will Kelly accept Vince’s proposition? Will this cause more tension between the families? The collaboration between Mickey Miller and Holly Dodd is amazing. The scenes are well written, fast-paced and flow smoothly from one scene to the next. The book will pique your interest and draw you in from the beginning to the very end.
I really enjoyed this book. This was my second Mickey Miller book and I am really liking his stuff so far. This was a collab with Holly Dodd. I am from the Midwest, so having the book take place in Chicago, a town that I have visited quite often was fun. This was a story of two mob families - one Irish and one Italian and how the CEO of the Italian Mafia Vince, and the Irish Princess Kelly met and fell in love. They had known each other in high school, when they were younger, and met again when they were in their twenties. It went through the difficulties of what it is like to live up to a families' expectations and how being together would be nearly impossible with the rivalry between the Irish and Italians. I really liked how once they removed themselves from their hometown, they saw that no one really cared what race you were or what family you came from. I kind of felt like that could be said for any family, any race, any hometown... My only distraction in this book was the often mentioned size of his manhood... I mean, I am just like any other girl out there who would like her book boyfriend have a nice d*ck, but I don't need it talked about quite so much. LOL!
I really enjoyed some of the minor characters in the book, especially Connor and I can't wait to read his book! This is a great series by Mickey Miller and Holly Dodd and I will definitely continue to read the rest of it! I received an ARC for an honest opinion.
