A Powerful Witch. A Flirty Faerie. A Shy Reaper. A Dangerous Dragon Shifter. A Feisty Heroine.
Mera has always been an overachiever who's had her entire life planned. On the morning of her 18th birthday, she wakes up surrounded by three gorgeous guys. And not just any guys. Immortals. A witch. A faerie. A reaper. They have one last chance to get a human to fall in love with them before they are condemned to enduring torture. When a dragon shifter joins the group, the rules change, but Mera is a new queen in a world so dangerous she might not survive long enough to save them or fall in love.
L. A. Long writes urban fantasy/paranormal romance and reverse harem romance (which has quickly become an obsession). When she’s not writing or thinking about writing, she devours paranormal fiction, worries about animals, stalks chocolate, dreams about the perfect cupcake, and tries to explain her devotion to sprinkles. She lives with her husband and a group of ever expanding rescue animals (and possibly some paranormals in the Pacific Northwest.)
This was an alright read. It was not the best RH story that I have read. The characters and world were quite interesting. Meta woke up on her 18th birthday surrounded by a witch, faerie, and reaper. She finds out that she was taken from Earth to their world where they made her their Queen. Then she meets Janx, a dragon shifter, and brings him into the pack as well. As I read this story, I was impressed on how the author made a clean RH story. However, I think it was a bit boring at times. I wished that there was more background on Mera and the other characters. I will see how the series will go. Overall, an okay read.
This was cute, but an obvious cash grab. Absolutely nothing was resolved in the 'book', with no character development. I would not call this a novel, novella perhaps. It was incredibly short; I have seen this done before. Now the author will release another dozen short books and charge 2 bucks a piece. This will be stretched out for as long as possible. This kind of thing gives ebook only titles a bad name.
As a university student getting a minor in linguistics, I just cannot look past all the grammatical errors in this book. I thought I would really enjoy it, but no, I just couldn't.
I don't even know where to start honestly. It read like someone on drugs wrote it... and not the good drugs, either. Everything that annoys me was present, lack of world building, no character development, no real relationships between the characters, no connection that allowed me to care about any of them, no real plot, etc. This author is now at the very tippy top of my "never read again" list.
I liked the plot but the writing felt very rushed and not fluid. For such a short book the story was so big, it was confusing and difficult to relate or grow attached to the characters in any capacity! I really hope the next book is an improvement as the premise is really well thought out

Heather's Notes I didn't hate this book, but I am not sure I liked it enough to continue. The ending was a bit anticlimactic. The characters were ok, but the felt very one dimensional. Also there was almost no world building, and no real knowledge of how the world works. I also don't feel like anything really happened until the end, and that was just too little too late.
This the worst book I have ever read. I wish I was joking.
The plot is simple, if you can get through the constant shifting dialogue. I feel like the main character is supposed to be feisty sticking up for people with her 'witty' response to people but it comes across as childish and immature. The love interests are a joke. There is little substance to them, mistakes are instantly forgiven and they chatter so much. Ther is also very little reasoning given to the world. Things happen because they just do.
The storyline is interesting, though it jumps right in and takes off through a new world before the main character (and reader) can really catch her breath. It reads very much like a YA novel - the use of "freaking" interjected really gets to me each time I see it - with sex and violence alluded to but never fully described as in other RH novels. But the quirky characters and taste of what's to come in the story ahead did make this a fun, quick read.
Mera wakes on her 18th birthday and finds out that she has been chosen by a witch, a reaper and a faerie to be their new queen. She's taken to their world and finds out that she has been deleted from the memories of her family. They are immortals and so they know all they rules of the new kingdom. She's not in control and needs to understand what is happening.
Short, succinct read that is basically introducing this series. It's fairly standard for paranormal romance-type books, and I would compare the writing to a good Wattpad story. This particular part of the story is free for download on Amazon, and it reads like a teaser - it ends abruptly and then tells you to continue with the series.
Amazing totally in love with Mera she's feisty determined independent and fiercely loyal what more could you want from the heroine. Blu is my favourite of her guys he's so sweet and hilarious I just wanna keep him. Can't wait to find out what happens next
The idea is good. But the writer dispensed with all complication s and basically wrote a play with descriptions and gory details. Very lazy writing and cardboard characters.
This new reverse harem series keeps you guessing. The author has created an interesting world filled with paranormals of all kinds and the humans that rule. I was drawn into the story right away and it left me wanting to read more.
I really wasn't sure about this book at first but it was really good, The cliff hanger might get you in the end so you can see what happens with the choice, that she made. With the witch who she really didn't trust.
This had potential. However the writing badly needs polishing. The other world isn't believeable. The story moves too quickly with non of the steamy stuff one expects from this kind of novel.
This book was a fast funny and downright great read. I can't wait to find out how Mera does in book 2. My favorite character has to be Blu! How many things can you make out of chocolate? He was not only the funny one but the one I would call in love with. Great book
