Wow! – Just wow, that basically sum’s this book up for me, I have been really excited to read this book and find out what happened with the final Reyes brother – and the man who caught my attention from day one; Zane! And I can tell you now that this exceeds my expectations, this is the last book in the Outlaws of the Wild West series and as sad as it is that this series (the series that started my love for western romances) has come to an end, but it finishes with a blast. I may babble on about how much I love this book – and Zane! But, really I can’t help myself I have so much I want to say about this that I’m afraid this review may turn into a full length novel of it’s own.

This pick’s up from where we left off in the previous; A Marriage Deal With The Outlaw – Castillo’s story ended. For those who haven’t read Castillo’s story then I won’t be spoiling the ending but I will say that our Outlaws have found themselves in the grand Victoria House in Helena, under the watchful eye of the Madam herself; Glory Winters.

Glory Winters – don’t you just love that name? Is the madam of the well respect and opulent Victoria House, along with her best friend Able – who really is the kind of friend a woman wants in her life, he is wonderful. Glory is beautiful, resilient and tenacious she rules her world with pride, she is kind and treats her girls with care and respect that these ladies deserve. But, Glory has a secret – infact she has more secrets than the secret service – one that if ever revealed could lead not just to her own death but that of Able’s too.

When she suddenly becomes threatened and blackmailed, she turn’s to the only men she knows will look after her; The Reyes Brother’s! Which means that the one man who has ever caught her eye and made her heart flutter, will be closer that is comfortable.

Zane Pierce, notorious and wanted outlaw and the third member of The Reyes Brother’s has always been fascinated by the beautiful and intriguing Glory, never in his life has a woman enthralled him as much as she does. But, he knows that nothing can ever happen between them. He is a wanted man, what sort of life could he give her? But when she reaches out to him and his ‘brothers’ for help, his protective instinct kicks him into action – not so much Knight in shining armour, more brooding gunslinger. Zane will go above and beyond to protect her, as he and Glory spend more time with each other his fascination with her and how she starts to make him feel, confuses him.

They are such a sweet and loving couple, each see’s the other in ways that no one else does and each has the one thing the other needs. Glory see’s past his scarred face and sees the good man beneath and he knows instantly that there is something about this beautiful woman then meets the eye. They are a wonderful couple who are made for each other!

This is an amazing book that really packs a punch – plus, did I mention how much I loved Zane? This is a vibrant, mesmerising romance, skillfully written with a wonderfully immersive plot and characters that engage and delight throughout. It really is a gorgeous story, it’s fast and thrilling. The sexual tension between our couple leaps from the page, it’s a will they won’t they story your reading it with bated breath waiting to see what comes next. A definite page turner, that will keep you hooked.

An Outlaw to Protect Her had me at the edge of my seat a lot of the time. The inner conflict, the sexual tension and the lead up to the final chapters was an absolute rollercoaster ride.

The characters in the book are skilfully crafted. Glory is smart, beautiful and shows a great deal of strength despite her insecurities and fears. Her emotional journey and her discovery of her self-worth and strength were a treat to read. Zane’s character was the perfect complement to Glory. He carries his own scars and insecurities but the pull towards Glory is too strong for him to ignore. His attraction towards her is apparent right from the start and the way it unfolds and culminates is spectacular. The connection between the two characters was especially interesting to read.

The pace of the story was perfectly set, and it was gripping from the outset. The supporting characters added to the story seamlessly and the story ended beautifully, leaving a warm, fuzzy feeling inside. An Outlaw to Protect Her is definitely a must read!

I loved this whole series! This book was my favorite one. Zane is a gunslinger who is sworn to protect the lovely Madam Glory Winters. When Glory's past seems to be catching up to her and her life is threatened, Zane promises to protect her while trying to find out who this mystery person is. Glory is strong willed and has made it on her own for so long that she thought her past was forgotten. She realizes that she may not always be able to hold her own when she finds a threatening letter left on her desk. Zane also has a past that he would like to forget. Both Zane and Glory are struggling to keep their feelings for each other at bay, but fate has other things in store for the two of them. I loved both these strong character's so much. If you like wild west stories, this series is definitely a must read!

Terror from her past

Running a brothel in Montana Territory has it's own brand of trouble, but a terror from her past has Glory living it in her mind all over again. Only now she has a protector and his "family" to help her. Zane's only goal is to keep her safe and not fall in love, but his heart doesn't listen.
Will Glory be able to face her fear and take a chance for a real life with a family? An end of the century romance with some modern conveniences, but where a gun is still the law.

Loved this Old West romance! Zane and Glory are an unlikely pair, but they have so much chemistry that you get sucked into their story from the first few pages. They both have pasts that they would rather stay that way, but when Glory's past threatens the establishments she has built up, as well as her safety Zane can't help but step in to protect her. It will take everything they have to open up to each other, and the chance of happiness while fighting for their lives. Such a great story!!

I really liked this western romance read. Zane and Glory are amazing characters with great chemistry. The story is fast-paced with loads of drama and suspense. Will they find the HEA or will Glory’s past ruin her future? A very entertaining read.

Zane Pierce’s work in Helena, Montana Territory was done; he would be leaving soon, but he still wanted to know more about Glory Winters, Victoria House’s madam. They had met a few times in the past, had talked a little, but she intrigued Zane, more than he wanted to admit. He had heard a man speaking menacingly to Glory, but when she admits she had received a threatening message, Zane knows he will not leave this town while Glory needs his help.

Harper St. George’s superb descriptive prose makes the Wild West alive once more in this latest installment of the Outlaws of the Wild West. Because of the author’s subtle inclusion of past events, AN OUTLAW TO PROTECT HER stands perfectly on its own, but readers of the series will be happy to see how featured characters from the previous books have fared. The Wild West fascinates me: it was a perilous, but very exciting time, and Harper St. George incorporates the dangers and the romance seamlessly. The characters are complex, very appealing, flawed, and real. I also loved the diversity they represent, which respects the reality of the times: Zane is part Native American, Able – Glory’s friend, and business partner – is African American, and Glory is a late nineteenth century woman who overcame terrible odds and has succeeded in the world. The story is impeccably paced, and flawlessly balanced as the intrigue and the romance are woven in a very skillful manner, one never completely overshadowing the other. The tone of the book is quiet and intimate, and what introspection there is works in favour of the story, instead of against it, as neither of our main protagonists is prone to outbursts.

Zane does not believe in love, and given what had happened to him in the past, no one could blame him, yet a more attentive, caring, understanding hero would be hard to find. He’s a gunslinger, but he knows what it is to hurt, and Glory has been through hell and back. AN OUTLAW TO PROTECT HER is a fabulous example of how wonderful a slow-burn romance can be, and how satisfying it is when everything occurs at the right time, for the right reasons, and when there are no artificial conflicts to mar the story. I never expected such a tender romance between an outlaw and a madam; it was a thing of beauty. The suspense angle is just as successfully exploited, and the reason behind the threats was truly revolting, and yet only too real. The ending is explosive, and just as emotionally potent as the romance, because there was so much as stake, and the epilogue hits all the right notes. What a great story!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

An Outlaw to Protect Her (Outlaws of the Wild West) by Harper St. George is brilliantly written and expertly executed. While book 3 in this series, it can be read as a stand alone.
Follow gunslinger Zane Pierce and brothel madam Glory Winters on their journey of danger, secrets and finding love. The sparks between Zane and Glory flies off the pages and heats up the night.
Fast paced, well written and well crafted with the execution perfectly done. The characters will definitely steal your heart, they are engaging and believable. The secondary characters help carry the story alone. I was absolutely delighted to read AN OUTLAW TO PROTECT HER. The suspense, intrigue, danger and mystery was exiting as well as the romance. Long buried secrets are revealed, which brings this story to a climatic ending. This is the conclusion of this series about the Reyes brothers. This books sizzles with action and sensuality, the storyline was unpredictable and unique with some twists and turns. An absolute must read for readers if old west adventures, western romance, and a different kind of outlaw, lovable ones to be sure. Puck up your copy today, you'll be glad you did. Another well executed romance by Harper St. George.
"I voluntarily received a complimentary copy, however,  these are my honest opinions. I was in no way required nor compensated to write a review."

This is the last book in the Outlaws of the Wild West series and I'm truly sad to see this series end!

Zane Pierce our hero is an outlaw who has scars physically and mentally and doesn't trust in love. Glory Winters our heroine is the madame of a brothel and has dealt with Zane and the Jameson brothers over the years. When Glory's past comes back to threaten her she turns to Zane and the Jameson brothers for help.

We've seen both Zane and Glory in the previous books in this series. Zane immediately caught my eye from the beginning and I'm so glad to finally get to know him in depth. Zane was such a great hero, strong, loyal and immediately ready to defend and protect Glory. His scars run deep emotionally and physically and his life as a Gunslinger and wanted man doesn't bode well to form a lasting attachment with anyone. Glory who in the previous books always came off as a strong and independent woman shows us a vulnerable side in this story along with her insecurities. She was a great heroine and I couldn't help but like her even more now that all her secrets were revealed. Their attraction along with both their insecurities made for an interesting but satisfying romance and the intrigue and drama at times kept me holding my breath. This was a wonderful ending to a fantastic series. Highly recommend the entire Outlaws of the Wild West series!

Brothel Madam Glory Winters finds her past is not done with her. Now in terrible danger, gunslinger Zane Pierce is just the man to keep her safe. The only problem is that the two have an incredible chemistry going and being in such close quarters, Glory realizes more than her life is at stake, so too is her heart.

Both Zane and Glory had pasts that left them broken. Glory's past held an element of danger and now that danger was coming for her. Zane's past left him without faith. Together Glory can restore that faith while Zane can keep Glory safe.

An Outlaw to Protect Her was a very exciting story. It will keep you up at night turning the pages to see what happens next. In addition, we also got to visit with some of our favorite characters from prior books. The suspense of the action and knowledge of their pasts unfolded gradually and masterfully. Harper St. George has become one of my favorite authors with her unique heroes and heroines as well as exciting and tense plots that ensnare you on page one. Don't miss An Outlaw to Protect Her.

Mills & boon historical, wild west setting
Third in the Outlaws of the West trilogy this one follows brothel owner Glory and outlaw Zane.

Characters are both scarred and strong and a good match. I like Glory - not only just she have the local sleazebag politician after her but she's got a very dark past and is on the run.... I love how she's basically built herself up from nothing, she's beautiful, kind and resilient. Hero outlaw Zane is also scarred and has been burned by love - plus he has his own baggage being half Indian.

The romance has good emotional build. Our lovers are well suited to each other and as a reader you are totally rooting for their HEA. I liked the freedom Glory had being a landowner and a brothel owner - its a refreshing change from school teacher or tomboy rancher's daughter. It's nice not to have a virginal heroine for a change, our Glory has a past.

I've enjoyed several of Harper st. George's Viking romances and thought she did a great job of switching it up to a different historical setting.

Right out of the bat, I’ll admit that western and historical genres are not my cup of tea. Having said that, I did enjoy Outlaw To Protect Her more than I thought I would. Zane and Glory are likable characters and their story is exciting. I definitely found myself anxiously turning the pages!
I received this book for a voluntary, completely honest and non incentivized review.

The third novel in the Outlaws of the Wild West was a fun romantic read. I did not find it to be as good as the first two books as I was a little tired of the "tingling sensations" and smoldering looks but that is not meant to ward off another reader. This book had all of the elements of the first two. Perhaps I just read them too close together.

set during the gold rush in montana, but the only thing not striking gold was the chemistry between these characters.

✰ DNF 45%, enjoy this author's gilded age heiress and doves of new york series, but going back to experience her older writing is a little painful. her writing has since improved immensely.

After reading the first two books in the series, I was really looking forward to this book. The first half of the story met every expectation, but the last half read “flat”. The ending lacked power and the conflict resolution struck me as quick and over simplified.
