Rabbit on the Run

Rate this book
Update: Now professionally edited.

Rohlin, the rabbit shifter is on the run from his former warren after being drugged and attacked by the alpha and his son. Afraid for his life he seeks the relative safety of human civilization. His strong suspicion that he was now pregnant from the attack only adds to his desperate situation. His only hope was to hide where no shifters could find him. That was his plan anyway!

When his failing eyesight causes wolf shifter Kai and his brother Connor to flee their home pack they find themselves part of an unlikely family of humans brought together by a human named Pops. Pop’s crew are motorcycle loving mechanics who become the family and support system that Kai and his brother needed to survive. When there is a shooting in Pop’s Shop that lands Connor in the human hospital, Kai must struggle to hold together his crew while hiding the truth about shifters from the humans around them.

Rohlin never expected to find his true mates scent in the aftermath of a bloody crime scene. While trying to track the scent of his mate he is found by members of the Dry Lake Pack and is taken to their pack lands. Meanwhile Kai, Connor, and the rest of the crew struggle with the aftermath of the shooting. They soon join the Dry Lake Pack and when their two paths cross, they both know they have found their true mate.

Can they overcome their own pasts and their current challenges to make a future for themselves with the Dry Lake Pack?

Meh...it was okay. The writing wasn't the best and one of the mc's is raped in the beginning. Thank goodness it isn't graphic but it's not really dealt with either. He's just hopping (heh...he's a rabbit shifter) on that magical dick cure. I'm not sure I will continue on with the series.

I'm glad I read this after it was edited, because the reviews make it sound like it was a bit of a mess before it was corrected.

I thought that this was a solid start to a new series - I am interested in continuing with it. I always am a sucker for a rabbit shifter, I just think they are the most adorable things ever. There was a good setup for plenty of books to come, lots of characters to get their HEAs!

Rabbit on the Run

I liked the story. I wish it was longer. It had action and romance. It was about life struggles and finding a family. I will read the next book.

Loved it

This book was recommended by Susi Hawke. She posted about it this morning. I downloaded it and started reading. I am in love. This book has sensitive alphas. That's hardly ever written. I am super excited for book two.

Within the first several paragraphs I knew this was not going to be a well-written book and I was not proven wrong. While the story and characters were somewhat interesting, the plot has been done by other authors, and the story was crafted much better. Poorly written sentences, using incorrectly placed punctuation, made for a less-than-stellar read. Additionally, much of the dialog throughout the story wasn't attributed to specific characters so the reader has to guess who is speaking. Some sequences felt out of order and often I was confused as to where the action was taking place. This book needed a proofreader and an editor. The story wasn't developed very well, the characters' romance was given no consideration (just a perfunctory "that's my mate and we'll be together forever"), and there really was no resolution at the end. I guess we have to assume that everyone lived happily ever after. This book needed a few more chapters to flesh it out and better technical skills by the writer.

Good quick read....

A quick and entertaining read. An Alpha wolf shifter who is losing his sight finds his True Mate, an Omega Jackrabbit shifter who was recently raped during a forced heat. They find a home together in a new pack and embrace their new lives with family and friends. The characters are endearing and the story is original and intriguing.

although I did not feel I should deduct stars in my rating for this, There are typos in the book that may aggravate some readers. To me they did not take away from the story of my enjoyment of reading it, though.
I definitely recommend this book.

Trust fate

Rohlin is a jackrabbit shifter who's is running from an sucky alpha, while Kai and connor are trying to make it....both have their lives tuned upside down. Fates works in mysterious ways.

Overall the book was just ok. I liked the characters though I felt I needed more in the romance development. The overall plot I liked but the writing sometimes made it a bit tedious when things are repeated multiple time. The addition of the side characters really improved the story and made you curious of what was to come.

Rohlin and Kai are both running from different experiences in their lives. Fate brings them together and they join a new pack that will protect them, which becomes like family to them. The characters were depicted very well, and the story was touching and heartfelt. I did enjoy it, especially the ending. =)

This was an entertaining, if imperfect, read. The beginning could definitely be triggering, even if it fades to black. I like how the insta-love was handled. All the drama was external, and there was zero angst between the main characters. I did feel like some weighty themes were introduced and then glossed over. It made the book feel both dark and fluffy in an unsettling way.

After hearing what everyone said about the editing I'm happy that I read the edited edition. I'm weak to rabbit shifters so I was excited. Not sure how I felt honestly I liked it but it was nothing super amazing. It was just okay.

Great quick read

This was a great start to a new series. It was well written, and the characters really well developed. I loved Kai and Rohlin as a couple. There wasn't slot of steamy action, but the story was so well written that I didn't really mind. I'm dealing to read book 2.

This is an ok book. The pacing is a bit off and the timeline was also weird.
The story itself was….ok. I’m just feeling very meh about it. I’ll see about coming back to the series after while.

Enjoyable

A nice quick read. I enjoyed reading about a rabbit shifter, most books only deal with the predator shifters. I'm looking forward to the next book.

Well written story and well developed characters! A rabbit shifter and a blind wolf shifter! What could they have in common? Can they help each other?
