Not a whole lot to this one, but it provides a nice overview of the fox/kitsune's place in Japanese folklore and culture, as well as a handful of old folktales.

I always enjoy folklore, especially since these stories are still being told today. I read this in spurts like something you would carry along and read when you had a moment to sit on a park bench or DR office. I recommend this book for anyone interested in Japanese folklore and found it interesting that just the other day, while viewing a documentary on Japanese Temples and the temple devoted to the Fox, they made the Fox seem a little too nice. However, bad press keeps is not always better than no press.

A good overview of Kitsune

The author obviously enjoys his subject. His writing is fluid and enjoyable; his knowledge appears broad, and he includes some classic fox stories just for fun. Useful for folklore and mystery. Enjoy!!!!

This was very handy, summing up lots of kitsune lore in one place. It could have been more polished, but it saved me an awful lot of time for 99 cents!

Overall an enjoyable, and interesting read with a good amount of research. It could do with some editing to make it a more fluid read.

It felt more like I was proofreading somebody's first draft of master thesis. This book needs to be edited better.

I didn't know much about this topic before reading this book, and it gave me a decent overview that is grounded in Japanese culture and history.
