Hell Ryders MC #3

Riding Blind

Rate this book
Hell Ryders MC officer Bryce “Ripper” Knight never knew love until he met Em. Then she disappeared and he was lost. Now, years later, her cousin—a rival club leader—needs him to find her before his enemies do. Ripper has no choice but to protect her, but he’ll be damned if he lets her under his skin again. One look, though, and he can’t deny she still sets him aflame.

Leaving Ripper almost destroyed Emelia “Em” Kenna, but in the midst of a bloody club war, she couldn’t choose between the two men she loved most or raise the child growing inside her with a man who didn’t want to be a father. Suddenly, Ripper is back in her life, and she’s riddled with guilt over the secrets she’s kept. Everything’s changed except two things—the reason she left and the fire he ignites.

Riding Blind is book three in J.L. Sheppard’s Hell Ryders MC series.

This book is the story of Bryce “Ripper” Knight and Emelia “Em” Kenna and holy cow what a story! A fantastic story of a love lost and then found five years later. Ripper and Em have a lot of twist and turns, truths and lies, a huge misunderstanding, a rival gangs threats and an even bigger secret to wade through before they can ever get their HEA.

Can these two overcome everything to get what they really want….each other? Grab this book and find out for yourself!!

This was an awesome second chance romance and my favorite book out of this series so far! Totally loved the ending and I look forward to more in the series!

Oh, man. After the gorgeousness of Thomas from book 2 I had the biker rug yanked out from under me with Ripper. The guy was left years ago after being deeply in love and when he sees the heroine again he is HULK pissed to the point he turns into a giant dickhead. I think he spent half the book extremely angry with her, so angry that I wondered how the hell they'd even find their way back to each other. On top of that the heroine just took all that verbal anger because she thought she'd done wrong in leaving him with his kid. I just wanted her to stand up to him a bit more. That was the part I struggled with, his anger and her taking it.

But onto the good! And there is a lot about this book. Especially the writing style made it a joy to read. I love that no matter Ripper's intense pissed-offness he is a constant loyal biker in protecting and wanting Emily. He didn't shove other biker women in her face and thank god!! This MC series is driven by love and whipped loyalty from the bikers to their old lady's so there's never a worry other men/women are involved.

Once Ripper got past the anger he was a delight!! Oh, a delight!! And what a cute daddy he made. I loved all the scenes with his little girl.

I wanted more closure from Bud. Their friendship seemed to be hanging by a thread. I didn't get his intense hate of Emily at times. Sure, your bestie was sad, but he's not now, so why you holding onto animosity, buttercup?

PS. I saw my Thomas! Yas.

I really enjoy this series and cannot wait for more.

When Chip, prez of the Chained Disciples MC, is shot by a member of the Falcons, he went into a coma. With Chip in the hospital, the Falcons will now go after Chip's family members. Ripper has been appointed to find and protect Chip's cousin, Emelia.

Heartbroken, Em left Ripper without so much as a word five years ago. She's also hiding a secret from Rip that could change his entire world.

Rip is a member of the Hell's Ryders MC. He didn't want to find Em. When she left, she took his heart and soul with her. Once Rip located Em, her secret is exposed and Rip is left speechless.

When lines of communication are broken, trust is lost and lives are torn apart, Rip and Em get a second chance to rekindle what once was.

Emily was a good mom to Bree. She spoke highly of Rip. You could tell she was still inlove with him.

On the other hand, Rip was an arse at times, but you couldn't blame him.

Bree was absolutely adorable! Bud was a true best friend.

Riding Blind is an intense and definitely an emotional ride. J. L. Sheppard has written a beautiful second chance love story. I can't wait to read the first two books of this series!!

3.75 stars for this angry boy

Goodness, Ripper was angry, so angry for half of this book that it was hard to love him as much as I loved Thomas. We went from super attentive hero in the last book to this grumpy, hard to deal with guy who had his heart crushed.

What I love about this series is the bikers are all about their women. Even as Ripper was, super pissed off, he still protected his family. Their little girl was adorable and a great addition.

Wish we'd seen more of Bud and how that situation at the end was resolved.

if you're looking for a great MC series this is a favorite for sure.

Holy shit balls, I was not prepared for Ripper and all his glorious surly anger rising off the page like steam. The author really did a great job of not making all the bikers the same as each other. I love Thomas, from book 2. He is the epitome of my kind of attentive hero and while Ripper has that in him, he carried a lot of baggage from being dumped and in turn he was kind of a dick at first to the heroine who i wanted her to turn around and thump him at times, but she took on that guilt so i fully understood.

I loved Ripper in daddy mode, he was so damn cute. and when the frissons turned to sexy times, it was hot.

This series needs more books in it!

I really enjoyed this book. Em left Ripper for she thought Ripper cheated on her and to top it off she keeps the birth of her daughter Bree 5yrs. so he's angry and since the club and her uncles Cliffs club is after him Ripper takes her to his club house for safety. At times I get mad Ripper for he gets angry at Em and doesn't really talk with her and all she wants to know how he feels about her, they have a lot of sex but he never says, the words I love you...there some intense moments in this book and of course they have a happy ending.

Have it in audio
Book 3 in the series . This is my first from the author and the series. It was a great listen . The narrator was great. The voice was clear and you can tell all the characters by the tone.

Hero is a Ripper. Heroine is Emilia.
This audio is about betrayal, survival and getting justice.
When Chip the pres of the M/C is shot by a rival M/C , it’s up to Ripper to find Chips family and protect them. That includes Emilia.
Emilia betrayed Ripper in the worse way possible. Grab it and find out how. Does Ripper get back at her

If you want an MC romance without all that other darker nonsense that you see in so many others that just ruin it and take away from the character connections ( IMO ) this is for you.
I freaking love this author's style and cast of characters.

I've read more than my fair share of MC books. Some good, some very good. This one was good. The story was interesting, with the danger of another club always keeping the pacing tense. The characters? Well let's see...

Ripper. Angry as no man has been before. So angry and resentful that at times you couldn't see how they would ever find their way back to each other. At least he wasn't angry and shoving taps in her face. She only had to deal with how he was treating her personally - which was hella-bad enough!

His actions to his little girl redeemed him and over time his protectiveness of his family slowly started softening him. It's just the two main characters were so uncommunicative to the point of frustration. It was infuriating. How adults can behave this way? In a way the heroine could be excused because she was young, pregnant, had a hard upbringing and overall was in a tough spot. His pride cost him a lot.

The supporting characters were hard to get a handle on for me as I haven't read any of the other books. I really disliked Bud and found myself interested in the VP on the cousins team...that's just me.

The writing is a more difficult topic. I just didn't understand some of the transitions. If it were a TV show it would feel like a blooper. One minute we're here and the next sentence we are somewhere else. How did we get there? Would there have been a new chapter? I had to re-read parts to see I hadn't missed something.

Overall it was an enjoyable read.🙃

Bryce "Ripper" Knight is a member of Hell Ryder's MC who fell in love with Emily but then she disappeared. Five years later when her cousin Chip , the President of Chained MC, is shot, Ripper must get Emily from where she has been living but he receives the biggest surprise when he goes to get her.

Emily has been in hiding for the past 5 years trying to live a life independent of any MC. When Ripper finds her, she expects him to be angry but she really has no clue at how deep his hurt and anger goes. She knows she must follow Ripper back if she wants to remain with Bree.

Tensions are high between Ripper and Emily but will they ever discuss the past and what went wrong and why Emily left?

With Emily's life still in danger due to her relationship with Chip will Ripper be able to protect her?

This was a great book about trying to overcome the past and heartbreaks.

I liked Bryce but at the same time I was mad at him so much for how he treated Emily. I know he had good reasons for being upset with her because she had been gone for 5 years but he really treated her so bad. He was amazing with Bree and I was glad that he was making up for lost time with her. He spoiled Bree and loved her so much.

I also really liked Emily and one thing I really loved was that it was so refreshing to see how well she talked about Ripper to Bree. Bree immediately loved him which shows how much of an excellent mother Emily was. I knew that there had to be a good reason on why she left and when it is finally revealed everything made sense but in hindsight she regretted not talking to Ripper.

I was curious to see what was going to happen with Emily's relationship to Chip and how that was going to play out. I was shocked at the where the first event took place and then even more shocked at what happened after that.

The ending was awesome and I look forward to more in the series!

5yrs ago, the only woman that Hell Ryders MC member, Bryce "Ripper" Knight, has ever loved walked away from him without an explanation. Now, her cousin and rival MC president, Chip, is asking Ripper to find her and keep her safe from the enemy. Imagine his surprise when he locates Em and realizes that he has a daughter! He's furious and understandably so but will he be able to forgive the woman who decimated his heart? One thing's for sure, he will not be letting go of his daughter...and, he will keep her and her mother safe.
Em is shocked when Bryce appears. At first she believes that the threat to the MC is due to Bryce, but when she learns that it's her cousin Chip, who saved her from her abusive father, she knows that she has to let Bryce keep her daughter and her safe...but at what price? She still loves the infuriating man but she had her reasons for leaving. She wanted more than the MC life, and danger, for her child...besides, Bryce was a cheater. Will these two work out their differences and find an HEA?
Good story but it was a bit frustrating that it took the H and h so long to communicate. Bryce's over the top anger directed at Em became a bit tedious and Em needed to grow back her backbone. Still a good story with great narration. The series is worth the read/listen.
I voluntarily accepted a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Some loves are bigger than you could even dream. When that kind of love takes you, it can be years and you'll never stop. This is where we find Emelia and Bryce, or Ripper to his brothers.
Bryce never thought he'd see her again. He never stopped loving her, no matter how hard he tried. But when her life could be in danger, he has no choice but to face the pain of finding her. What he finds, isn't what he expects and now he has even more to protect.
Emelia ran from that part of her life and hid from that part of her heart. She never imagined it would come back for her. Whether she likes it or not, the past never goes away completely. But can she come through this and not get hurt again?
This is a love that will pull at your heartstrings in a matter of pages. Before you know it, you're holding your breath and reading as fast as you can to find out what happens! You'll cry, you'll laugh, you'll get a little steamy, you won't want to put it down until it's over. And even then you'll want more. Ripper gets to your heart in the most alpha way, youll swoon right off the back of his bike. 4/5

Solid 4.5 read that I enjoyed

Riding Blind is the third book in the 3rd book in the Hell Ryders MC series. I have never read this series and I was worried being book 3 I would follow. I was perfectly fine and I was drawn in from the get-go. I read this book in one go and could not put it down. So many emotions. So many things that went on and weren't said. I think the author did a great job with how she told this story. Sometimes it was hard to read because let's face it there was a betrayal. I would have been a bit upset as well. There were times that I wanted to slap the hero. He could be a tool. Mistakes are made and lack of communication fuel this book. It’s a rollercoaster of ups and downs, so worth the read.

The book opens in the prologue in the past. From the moment Ripper sets his eyes on Emilia “Em” there is a connection on both parts. Emilia and Ripper meet when he stops by his friend Chip’s home. There is misunderstanding and it is easily rectified. They grow together and talk about a future. Then the next thing you know Em is gone.

Now we fast forward seven years later. Someone is out to get the one and only person Ripper ever loved….Em. Someone comes with news of a favor and now he needs to protect that one and only woman that broke his heart and the only one he ever loved.

Now, I don’t want to give away much. I will say over the years Em has changed and is not the girl she used to be. Her heart is strong and she is an amazing woman doing what she can to get by with her child. I loved this child.

Ripper finds out what has happened and he races to Em. He doesn't want to feel the things he feels. She hurt him. Things aren't what they appear. Drama ensues. I had a hard time with some of Ripper's actions. He was harsh and never asked questions. He jumped to conclusions. I can say the same thing for Em. She never thought to ask either. Everything and I mean everything could have been avoided by just talking to each other. I loved all of the secondary characters with the exception of Bud. He was on my last nerve through the book. I know your brothers are your brothers but he was just too much.

All in all, I enjoyed this book and their growth together in what they needed to do. As I stated before so many emotions. I wanted some Ben and Jerry’s when I was done. I am also going back to read the first two books in this series. Can’t wait to read more.

Well first off let me say I haven't read any of the books in this series and was able to get into this read with a quickness. First off I loved this author's MC books. Her MC's are not nearly as crazy as some I have read but the guys are the epitome of whipped by their women. They are the only ones that can control and love these guys. Rip was a turd, all the anger from her leaving him with no word. There is so much betrayal and emotions in this book it is crazy. I started reading and got mad any time I was interrupted, then finally locked myself away so I could finish it. Reading the pain and miscommunication between these two is painful. The undercurrent is thick with stuff and so is the book. I need a strong drink and to cuddle with my teddy bear now that I'm done.

Love this author, she has a way about her that draws you in and wont let you go. It's a story worth reading that has action and intrigue and so much emotion in each chapter. I can't tell you how many times I wanted to reach into my kindle and choke someone, anyone.

My Review of Riding Blind (Hell Ryders MC #3)
by J.L. Sheppard
My Rating 3.5 stars

“Ripper” Bryce Knight member of Hell Ryder’s MC has a love for one woman “Em” who disappeared 5 years and when all things go to hell in a handbasket Ripper finds Em and something or someone he didn’t expect.
Tensions are high and and the rollercoaster ride this installment brings has you riding out the heartbreak of years that have gone by as these two try to move forward with all that has happened in the time they have been separated. With the pain from the past colliding with their future “If they have one” is felt with each page of this great story. If you have read any of the Hell Ryder’s MC series then you don’t want to miss this ride as it’s one that will have you on the edge as Ripper and Em travel another road of heartbreak and turmoil.

Yet again another fantastic one that is in this series. I got to read the one before this so that is what got me hooked. This one is featured around Ripper and Emelia or Em. Right away the way it is opened with how they come back into his life -wowzer. The emotions that roll off the pages will be like a tidal wave with you get slammed. The story is one that gets you by the throat but also this is a second chance with you wanting it so desperately. The drama that is interwoven is also part of the appeal for this one. I get impatient though with some of the drama wanting something on the positive before its time though it would be. The flow of this one is one that takes you away and does not let go until you reach the end.

This couple puts some of my crazy family to shame lol

Em ran when she couldn't choose between the men in her life and she ran with a secret , she loves Bryce aka Ripper and it tore her heart out to leave.

Ripper has hardened his heart since Em left five years ago but now he is put in the place to find and protect her , they both still have chemistry through the roof but the secret she has kept hidden from him damn most can not get over and when he meets Bree, Em’s daughter these two keep pushing each other.

You have got to read this book and see just how this story turns out , I had my doubts about this book but thank goodness I finished it because I was very happy with the story

Ripper Bryce who is a member of Hell Ryder's Mc falls in love with Emelia "Em" and for two years they were together and Ripper thought all was great until one day Em disappears and it wasn't until her cousin Chip got shot that Ripper was able to find Em but Em wasn't alone she had kept a major secret from him.
There were times I wanted to punch Ripper in the face and felt so bad for Em especially when Ripper start acting like an ass to her and wants nothing to do with her.

Bryce is a pissed off hot mess because Em ran off 5 yrs ago and now he's gotta find her. Of course they are both hot messes and attitudes for days. Its hard to believe that stupid decisions can end up with you missing so much in life. Em is crazy though and she makes Bryce pay just as much as he makes her pay for all the hurt. Bree is the perfect little girl all sass, and tomboy in one and super adorable.

I received this audiobook free for an honest review. It is not required to listen to the first two stories to enjoy this one. The relationship between "Ripper" and Em is a strained one. It goes through a lot of turmoil to get to a resolution. The author brings you in in the very beginning and the narrator, with his gravely voice, does a great job bringing the listener in to the MC environment. I could not stop listening and want more.

We saw in the previous books that Ripper was hurt, life changingly so, when Emilia left him 5 years earlier. As the cousin to Chip, President of one of their former rivals, one they were slowly starting to mend fences with, Ripper is surprised when Chip sends word that he knows where Em is and that he needs to go find and protect her. Ripper isn't prepared for what he finds when they are reunited though as it turns out Em didn't just take herself away from Ripper, she took his daughter too.

Oh I loved this one. I enjoyed the first two books a lot but this is my favourite so far. I was glued to it all day with the drama of would whoever was after Chip find Em? Would Em and Ripper manage to sort out their issues and find a way to raise Bree together? Would the rest of the Hell Ryders accept Em after the pain she caused their brother? And that's not all of it, this really was drama filled but of course with plenty of the romance side too. I still can't get used to it keep saying doors parted though as its such an odd saying but I can't wait for the next one and give Riding Blind 5 stars.

Riding Blind in book #3 in the Hell Ryders MC series, and although I read this as a standalone, I feel as if I missed little or nothing when reading. But I will be going back to where it all began, Im a little addicted to these Alfa MC men.
This is Ripper and Em's story, a story of loss, hurt and heartache, a second chance romance!!
But not is all smooth sailing for these two, they have both grown into different people over the years, the pain of there past still lingers, will it spell the end for any future they may want or crave to be together??
whilst both characters have jumped to conclusions in the past and present , I feel that if they openly communicated they would of come together sooner. A fantastic read that isn't as hard core as most MC books, but is well worth the read!!
I cant wait to delve into where it all began.

The third book for the H3Ll Ryder MC series is about finding your way home.
Emelia ran from her first and only love with an secrets that surprises you.
Bryce aka Ripper deals with forgiveness while trying to find the man he used to be.
I really loved how even through this was a second chance novel, it didn't give a vibe that it was. I seriously can't stand reading one of those. This isn't an instalove or a jump straight back into where everything left off. It's like real life, when you want something and it takes time with alot of work.
One of my favorite MC families and I can't wait for more!
