Clarissa Moone’s a smart, quirky art history grad with an almost unhealthy obsession for vintage clothes. When she lands a job working for the enigmatic Aidan Thornhill, she doesn’t quite know what to expect—but certainly not romance.

Aidan is a self-made billionaire whose early life is shrouded in mystery. Fleeing a scandal, he joined the army and, years later, returned from Afghanistan with a head full of bad memories and a million dollars left to him by a dead friend. Now, he’s one of LA’s wealthiest bachelors—and he’s also smoking hot.

But even this billionaire veteran didn’t count on the voluptuous Clarissa. With rumors already circulating, Aidan breaks his golden rule: one steamy night on his private yacht, he seduces Clarissa. When he discovers her lack of experience, instead of running, he takes control. Things are about to get filthier than Clarissa ever imagined.

Aidan’s dark past is never far behind. Determined to stir trouble, three figures—an old army comrade, a spurned ex-con, and a spoiled old flame with sharp claws—emerge to reap revenge.

Rising to defend his new lover, the former soldier charges headlong into battle, determined to have Clarissa even if it means losing everything, while she must choose whether to ignore the rumors and continue to bathe in Aidan’s charms… Or leave her dream job.

I hated giving this series such a low rating but I had a very hard time getting past the general feel of the series. The characters were all great but I really felt that if the author would have placed this in England or somewhere like that, it would have been a much better book. The series is based in LA and all of the characters, including the quirky best friend to Clarissa, all speak so "properly". That's fine as I am sure that there are some that speak that way all of the world but it never fit for me. There were several times as I was reading each book in the series that I had to double check where they were living as it all just felt so off. I probably will not ready anything else from this author for that reason.

This book is like an X rated Disney movie. Everyone is so perfect and speak only in proper, well groomed English. Almost everything in this book is a cliché. My main issues that ruined this book for me are these:

1) I hate it when the hero is so inhumanly beautiful and hot that, at first glance, ever human female on earth will melt and fall completely in love with him. Really? Give me a brake! That’s the case here. He can’t even talk to a woman without her swooning and lusting over him. Poor guy. Most of his past PAs, who he rarely sees, are fired or quit because they fall in love and try to jump him. Not only is he uber handsome, he’s also uber wealthy, uber nice, and uber uber generous. AKA Prince Charming. Even his “issues” seemed staged.

2) I hate a heroin who is a virgin in her 20’s because she’s never felt attracted to a man enough to want to have sex with him, then suddenly, is drowning in intense lust at first sight of the unearthly beautiful hero. And of course, she is exquisite beautiful. She’s every man’s fantasy and they all in love with her and her big D cups, which are mentioned on every page.

3) I hate coincidences that feel completely fake and unreal. Although this is a small thing it still bugs me. Here, the heroine like to dress in a 1960’s retro style. Fine. But guess what, so does her boss. Not only that, the heroines father and boss are also immediately hot for each other. And then there’s the dog.

4) The writing. What to say. The author was obviously British since there were many common British words and phrases used that we don’t say here. I also hated the expression “boy”, and the talk about tummies. At one point, prince charming actually said his tummy hurt. Really? And why is the word “sensitive” used a thousand times? And then there were the sex scenes. They were just as bad.

Overall, this book was a flop!

Terrible. Absolutely terrible.

1. Lingo. If an author is writing in a setting of another country from which they live, they need to please learn the lingo! The setting is in LA, yet it’s obvious the author is not from the US.

2. Conversations. Why, oh why, if you are talking to one other person, do you have to constantly say their name? How many times can one say, “Tabs,” “Tabi,” and “Clary” in one conversation? You are only talking to them, so WHY KEEP SAYING THEIR NAME?!?

3. PE? I’m pretty sure Aiden suffers from premature ejaculation. How many times can he finish too quickly before it’s an actual problem??? The author refers to this too many times for me.

4. Virgin? I hate this premise. She’s a virgin in her 20’s because she hasn’t been interested at all, yet loses it soooo quickly with Aiden? Also, for someone who keeps her virtue so closely, she goes skinny dipping in her brand-new employer’s pool? Umm, no.

5. Annoying. Tabi/Tabs was f*cking annoying...and so was Clary when she was with her.

This book reads like a teenager wrote it. The main character gets a job throwing fancy parties and is just handed wealth because she's so nice. Seriously. She got a job cause she was nice and every other woman that applied was just looking for a rich husband or sex with a billionaire (but wait...). It's alarming how much derision and judgment comes out towards all women not the main character. Clarissa is clearly "not like other girls" because ALL other girls, including her bestie, are shitty for various reasons-mostly slut-shaming. To to it off, the obsession with being vintage is exhaustingly boring.

It's clear the writer has some real disgusting views of women but she also let loose some about men with the absurd idea that a man who trained really hard for the Army would have leftover muscles... Because going to the gym is clearly a character flaw.

I couldn't finish the book. It was too absurd to be enjoyable. It took so long for nothing to happen and I didn't even get to a single bit of conflict after over 1/3 of the book.

i'm glad i got this for free since it was so hard for me to finish. it started out promising, however after they became lovers i just wasn't into them as a couple. i like a good alpha male w/issues (especially since he was an ex-vet), but aidan didn't have any profound ones that really made my heart tear. or if he did it wasn't powerful enough for me to feel. instead he fell head over heels over greta. oh and greta ... couldn't stand her. i couldn't take her 60s obsession and she was always acting and speaking so proper. how old is she? 50? so after they got together all the sex scenes were the same, over and over and over. i had to skip a major amount of this novel just to finish it. i was also confused with the california setting. i felt as if they should be in new york or europe considering there was a lot of talk about art, books and travel. the only person i liked is greta's best friend.

Thornhill Trilogy Book 1
Narrated by Mehgan Andrzejewski, Thomas Hart

What happens when your reputation precedes you? Aiden Thornhill's new assistant is beautiful and smart. She does not impress easily, but there is something about her new boss that catches her eye. Maybe it's the ease of conversation, or his incredible eyes. When the chance arises, the two become an item. But secrets are kept, and as we know, they always come to surface. As Clarissa thinks she is getting to know her new boyfriend, more information about his past keeps cropping up. Where will this relationship go? I am enjoying this story. A lot. Yes, it's got steamy scenes, but the complexity of the characters is what I truly enjoy. Clarissa is quirky, enjoys vintage clothing and music and is just a fascinating character. She's not rich in money, but she has a lot of ambition, love and patience. Aiden is extremely complex. He is hiding something and I want to know what it is! Bits and pieces are coming out, but I can't wait til it all comes out. It's a cliffhanger, so I need to get the next book queued up and ready to go.

Mehgan Andrzejewski and Thomas Hart narrate this story, and they are cast perfectly. Meghan gives that quirkiness to Clarissa, adds some spunk and emotions, and even has us wanting to give her a good shake once in a while. She brings out all her eccentricities. Hart becomes Aiden, with his charismatic voice, sucking Clarissa in and understandably so.I enjoyed this combination of voices and look forward to book 2.

Read it in a day!! Part one of the Thornhill Saga. I love Adian & Clarisa relationship.
Hot, steamy characters have great chemistry together. Breaking innocence, learning to fall in love & opening up their soul for more than just bedmates. Will they become soulmates.
I enjoy reading their relationship unfold. 2/3 of the way I was wondering when the crazy ex would get involved to try and win Aidan back. By blackmail, lies just out of typical "woman Scorn" Jealousy. What a Bitch!. But that makes for a good villain to break up the blooming romance.
Cannot wait to purchase the 2nd half of the saga.
If you like sexy, love scenes and read how the new romance unfolds day by day. This is the series!!
Watch the characters break down their barriers to close up past pains & learn to trust and be supportive of this scary new emotion called love. This gets your eyes a reading the next chapter in the Adian & Carissa love story.

Entrance (Thor hill Trilogy Book 1)

Excellent story! Enjoyed reading it, with excitement. The owner of home where she worked as a charity host, she lived on the property with her employer and his aunt. Very wealthy man on a mission to help with the needy. These events were provided to help people who were in the military, homeless people, dogs and abuse women. This story had a lot of steamy areas in the book. Rated R. Part one is over - on to part 2, can't wait to read what happens next! Yummy delicious story! ENJOY!!!!

I wanted to like this book. I seriously had a hard time getting past several things. The book was choppy and in at least 2 places Clarissa and Aiden were kissing and in the next sentence they were full blown having sex...it was jarring and made me go back and see if I missed a page. Some of the descriptions.. (OK-most of them) used for sex actions made me cringe. Aiden actually told Clarissa after having sex "I cant believe I had so much jam"..... SERIOUSLY...for filling her up. That was about it for me. He also told Clarissa about a dozen times how he loved devouring her creamy juices, and wiping them off his face every time he went down on her.. I honestly wondered whether he was making a pot-pie or having oral sex. Clarissa's best friend made me want to drop kick her...she was written without an obvious single redeeming quality except the ability to screw married guys, dump good guys, and be obnoxious in public. The character development was lacking and, besides the 2 main characters wanting to screw each-other every second because they are so perfect looking, there is not much to invest a reader here.

The award for the worse best friend goes to.... this one. She was the worse friend ever. She was so pushy, absolutely manipulating the heroine and not caring at all about what the heroine wants. It kind of got me triggered and I just could not continue with the story. The friend just made me so mad.

Clarissa Moone - She majored in Art History in college. She spent time looking for a job, when her credit card is to the max, with a temp/job agency in LA, when they call her to attend an interview to be a personal assistant. They gave her the address in Malibu to a mansion that she fell in love with when she arrived as she did for the artwork when she got inside. Upon getting there, Greta Thornhill came out and told them, Clarissa and the other applicants, that they were to answer one question for this interview and that they only had five minutes. When Greta collects her's she eyes her up and down. They are told that someone will be in touch soon. Not long after she returns home and questions thrown at her by her roommate, Tabitha, her best friend since kids, the agency calls and informs her that she has offered the position for Mr. Thornhill's PA. She readily accepts the position. It's when she arrives to sign paperwork and contracts to start working that she runs into her boss unbeknownst to her. She mistakes Aidan, as she never gets his name and she never sees his eyes behind the sunglasses and hat that he wears, for the gardener. She only meets him because his dog comes running up to her. She meets him again like that after she has started her job and is at the beach one afternoon. It wasn't until the gala she had been prepping for her first two weeks that she finally figures out that the guy she met with his dog was actually Aidan Thornhill, her boss. All that night she notices him staring at her everytime her eyes went in his direction. And that made her hot for him. But when he invited her onto his yacht a day or so later she was nervous to be seen with him. For it to be known that they might be seen together as she was told by another worker not to fall in love with him and that he was a lady's man.

Aidan Thornhill - Billionaire extraordinaire caught sight of Clarissa during the interview where he was watching so no one could see him. Her answer her question was even better than expected. He was smitten. It didn't take him long to feel more for her but only when her phone died, when was to be in New York on business but flew back, he was out looking for her and found her out with her friend, her friend's newest boyfriend and his friend. He thinks he is wrong about how she felt and that she might be using him. Until she follows him out of the restaurant to talk to him. They spend the night together before he heads back to New York to finish business. When he gets back they spend a glorious weekend together before he jets off to Germany for two weeks for more business and she finishes getting the gala prepared. The gala is where Clarissa meets Aidan ex-fiancee. Jessica, the ex, tells her some things about Aidan he hadn't yet divulged in yet that has her running.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I'm intrigued to find out what else happens in the second part when it's released. I can't wait. I love that Clarissa has a 1960's vintage taste in clothing, though I do not wear the style, I love the era.

What I didn't like about the book was it being too formal in dialect. I have never heard anyone in LA or CA mind you, speak as if they grew up in a different time period and a different country. I believed one should use the dialect of the area in which they are writing and the area in which the character was raised. This is fiction after all and not one person I know speaks with perfect grammar 100% of the time.

Other than that, I'm in love. To find someone who has a heart like Aidan is almost unheard of these days. Sorel, you are setting high standards for what a woman should look for in a man but that woman best appreciate having a man like Aidan if she gets herself a man like him. I can say that any guy that would read this should hold out for a soul like Clarissa's and he best appreciate her as well. By the way, can't wait for book two. I'm excited to know where the story will take me next.

Listened to audio book narrated by Mehgan Andrzejewski and Thomas Hart. I enjoyed Hart's narration it came across very clean. I found myself wishing he had more narration time. I'm not sure if it's Andrzejewski's voice or the story but her narration for Clarissa come across as extremely young and naive at times and I wasn't a fan. There were several noticeable audio volume inconsistencies as well.

Aidan Thornhill is a self-made billionaire and a former Ranger with Special Forces in Afghanistan. He's keeps to himself avoiding the limelight while trying to help worthwhile causes. He has a lot of secrets in his closet and his past threatens his future.

Twenty-one year old virgin, Clarissa Moone has been hired to be Aidan's PA and is specifically told NOT to fall for Aidan. She's a brilliant art historian major with many talents. When she meets the sexy 'gardener' with the dog on the property her fantasies run wild and she's in deep when she realizes it's actually Aidan.

This book is filled with hot steamy sex, and secrets. But everything felt very over the top. Aidan has so many issues it's a wonder he's even functional. Clarrissa and her friend's immaturity made me feel like I'm reading about high school teenagers, not an intelligent adult woman. Her friend's advice went from supportive one minute to sabotaging and catty the next, but Clarissa is oblivious.

When settling in for an erotic falling for your billionaire boss read, it's hard to stay in the fantasy with the constant reminders about losing her job, it started to weird me out. While I appreciated that Aidan loved a natural woman, it felt like the author was taking digs at any woman that had any work done. The first time was okay, but the repeated digs started to feel mean.

Their story isn't resolved at the end of this book and many things are left dangling for future books to resolve. I wanted to like this book but I just didn't.

1. “Her stretched gaze nearly ate me alive.” ???
2. A $10,000 limit for six designer ball gowns and an entire work wardrobe? I don’t think so. ONE designer gown would cost more than that.
3. In chapter four, Clarissa thought “I’ve grown fond of Greta.” How can you grow fond of someone you’ve met three times and never even had a conversation with that didn’t deal with your job?
4. Clarissa was super modest and didn’t like revealing clothing; she wouldn’t even wear a two-piece bathing suit. However, she was perfectly comfortable pulling down her bathing suit top and sunbathing topless out in the open while on her employer’s beach. I call bull$hit.
5. In chapter four, Clarissa said that the contract required that she wear “modest” clothing. There was nothing like that in the contract. Greta only said that they couldn’t wear “casual” clothes and that “Aiden stipulates we look our best.”
And, if the contract DID require modest clothing, I don’t think Aiden would have appreciated his PA sunbathing topless on his beach.
6. Clarissa had seen multiple pictures of Aiden but she didn’t recognize him any of the THREE times she met him because he was wearing a baseball cap and sunglasses? And, when she met him at the ball, she STILL didn’t recognize his voice or realize he was the “hot gardener” until he mentioned his dog?
7. Clarissa’s panties were always “sticky”. Ewww.
8. Clarissa should have weighed 300 pounds. All she did since she got her new job was drink champagne and eat cake and donuts.
9. “While she bounced up and down, I supped on her erect nipples”, “Clarissa vacuumed me up with her tight muscles.”, “My pubic hair against his face made him appear mustached.” Ewww. This might be the most unromantic romance I’ve ever read.
10. Another FSOG knock off. Aiden was a “$ex addict” who was introduce to $ex by an older, experienced woman when he was a young teen. *yawn”
11. Do some basic research! A woman doesn’t waltz with one of the man’s arms around her shoulder, the other around her waist and her head on his shoulder.
12. If I found out that the man I was involved with had kept such big secrets from me, there would be he11 to pay!

Crimson🌺 and Clover🍀, a Dream Job and a Dream Lover

Down and out in L.A., Clarissa💃🎨 needed a job. She graduated with an Art🎨 major, and has found only one job interview. It's an interview for the cushy job of a lifetime, though.
She drives to the mansion on the beach in her father's old car. Her clothes are vintage, but she knows her stuff about art, books and decorating. The house is filled with valuable art, books, and antique furniture. Clarissa💋💃🎨 is in art🎨 nerd heaven! She was never told who she will be working for, and still doesn't know when she gets the job. The job comes with her own cottage and a car to drive!
Apparently, she's now working for self made billionaire, Aidan Thornhill🐺🍆🌋. He was an Army Ranger🔫🔪 who came out of the service and made a fortune in stocks. Now he has established some charities that he is passionate about. Clarissa's job will be to organize fund raising galas for the various charities.

Meanwhile, back at the mansion, Clarissa💋💃 keeps meeting a tall, extremely buff💪 and handsome man with his 🐕dog all the time when she is outside reading📙, or walking, or at the 🌴beach. She is in 💘love with him, even though she doesn't know who he is or exactly what he looks like, because he always has a baseball hat and dark sunglasses👓 on.
He ends up seeing her with her top down on the beach in afternoon. Oops! Clarissa gets a good look at his bare chest and ripped💪 arms, too, and she's suddenly in total LUST!
Clarissa💋💃 is still a virgin, but this guy makes her want to jump his bones💋🍆🌋! She thinks he's the gardener at the estate.

I really, really wished this book had been written with dual POVs! We don't know what Aidan🐺🍆🌋 is thinking! He must be thinking what Clarissa💋💃 is thinking, but they are both so shy, it's a lust filled stalemate! When are they going to get together?
YEHAW! Ride em Bareback🍆, Cowgirl!🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎

I really enjoyed Entrance by J.J. Sorel. As the first book in a trilogy, I thought this book did a great job creating the world the rest of the books will take place in, and the reader meets so many interesting characters; I could definitely see this becoming much more than just a trilogy given all the couples/potential couples introduced in just this novel.

Clarissa meets billionaire Aidan after taking a job as his charity-event-planning PA. Neither knew that their love for art would catapult them both into a steamy romance that neither ever expected to experience. Of course, both have less-than-perfect pasts: Aidan threw himself first into a sex addiction and then into the Army Special Forces when his mother chose drugs over him; Clarissa's mom died when she was young, and she's found herself very sheltered - until Aidan, that is. Now, with Clarissa by his side, Aidan can finally put the past behind him and find a new sense of peace and wholeness.

The writing overall was good; there were a few romantic scenes I had to slow down for in order to properly follow what was going on, but other than that, the writing was spot on, detailed, and told the story well. Characters were developed, no matter how much page time they received. Both Aidan's and Clarissa's backstories were detailed, were more than just a mere mention, and contributed to the present and future of both main characters. I thought the story worked well, and I really appreciated the fact that this book contained a full story instead of leaving the reader with a cliffhanger leading into book 2 of the trilogy. Overall, this is a great read for anyone wanting a sweet yet steamy romance featuring an innocent woman and a former-military billionaire who wants to give his woman the world.

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

A hot contemporary romance, J.J. Sorel introduces her audience to Clarissa Moone and her new hot hot hot boss Aidan.  Aidan has a murky past but Clarissa doesn’t really care, her skin sizzles when he’s nearby and her breath is taken when he touches her.

Aidan, quiet and conservative finds himself falling for Clarissa at first sight!  Aidan is treading where he has never been before – a beautiful, quiet woman with a smile that removes all darkness.  Her virginal body and engaging intelligence send him into a lustful desire and passion.

Together they must explore their relationship amidst gossip, lust, revenge and more.  This is a story where love and passion must win but will the past allow them to do so?

J.J. Sorel’s Entrance is an engaging read for anyone who enjoys contemporary romance.  Well written, Sorel details the story in an engaging manner and vividly describes the characters and their actions to perfection.  The romance scenes are not overdone, rather they are written in a tasteful and realistic style.  It is emotional and satisfying, yet describes accurately the doubts and struggles couples have in their relationships at times.

I enjoyed how each chapter identified who the voice was so the viewpoints were clear.  It also allowed her audience a clearer view of each person. Sorel knows how to captivate her audience and provide an absorbing tale of love, sex, and relationships.  Masterful storyteller, Sorel gives her audience what they want in a bewitching style.

I received this book as an ARC from Hidden Gems for an honest review.

To start with, I have never read anything from this author prior to Entrance. Her writing style is completely unique to her and I look forward to more novels from her.

Clary has had her share of pain in life. At the age of 8 she lost her mother to an accident. Fast forward thirteen years, and you get a beautiful young woman who has never been with a man. She is the epitome of innocence. She applies for a dream job and was surprised to find that she got it. Not know anything about the owner she throws herself into the work .Impressing everyone at the first Gala she learns that who she thought was a gardner is in fact none other than her boss.

Aiden has seen a lot in his life. His childhood wasn't great and then he went off to war. He has had his share of women in his bed and still struggles with things he has done in his life. Living with PTSD is a constant battle for him.

The two of them together is truly magical. They complete the parts of each other that was missing. Aiden is uncomfortable sharing his feelings and his past with Clary, so she learns things the hard way. Which causes pain and makes her stop and wonder if what she is doing is the best for her future and current well being. While Aiden means well, he has never felt the way he feels about Clary so he is trying to figure things out as he goes. But some people from his past seem like they don't want him to be happy.

I cannot wait for the second installment.

A beautiful Billionaire love story. Aidan Thornhill is a billionaire who likes his privacy, shares his wealth with those who need it most, and is very down to earth. He is in search of a PA to help plan and run the gala's that he has to raise money for the various charities that he runs to help the needy. His Aunt is his closest confidant and works with him in running his charities.

Clarissa Moone has been contacted by an employment agency to go to an interview for the position. She was just an after thought by the company, but she was very hopeful that she would get the job. Clarissa is an eccentric 21 year old, she has a degree in Art History, and is a caring thoughtful person. She is not a woman to watch the media, or gossip rags about celebrities. So when she goes to the interview, she is not aware of who the man is that she will be working for, until she gets home and talks with her roommate and best friend since childhood, Tabitha, who knows about everyone.

I loved this story and the characters really drew me in. I love Aidan and Clarissa, but Greta and Julian add so much to this story as well. They are the people who help to make Aidan and Clarissa who they are as adults. They care for them and they are very much a part of their lives.

I look forward to reading more of the Thornhill Trilogy in the coming year. JJ Sorel is a new to me author and I look forward to reading more of her stories.

I see why they compare this to 50 shades

I honestly can’t see segments of Fifty Shades of Grey in this book.

The character development is good it appears that the author is going to have multiple things going on with each significant character which will help lengthen the story.

There are a couple things in it that drove me a little bonkers but not enough to prevent me from reading any further books.

The author 100% kept me engaged, the flow was smooth (those who know me a smooth book is by far one of the best books for me).

It honestly appears that the plot has thicken which does peak my interest. Book one did not and like book one of Fifty Shades of Grey. But if you look at the structural content of Fifty Shades of Grey and some of the main key points that attracted people to that book are some of the same things in this book. We have a very rich man ✅, we have a very intelligent naïve girl (sexually)✅, We have a friend that pushes her to an interview ✅ we have a friend that hooks up with a really good associate of the alpha male that’s a billionaire ✅. There’s more things that are similar but the book itself is still good and unfortunately it will be assimilated with 50 shades

A sexy, passionate, detailed, erotic account of the relationship between Aiden and Clarissa. Clarissa an Art History graduate and virgin applies for a job as a PA through an agency. She loves everything about the 1960's and dresses accordingly. She applies for the job and gets it. But she is unaware of who her new employer is. Her best friend and roommate, Tabitha/Tabs, tells her that he is the most eligible billionaire bachelor, Aiden Thornhill. Clarissa has run into Aiden and his dog, Rocket, a few times on the beach, but mistakes him as the gardener. They are attracted to each other. The story continues to share about Clarissa first sexual experience with Aiden and the ups and downs of the relationship. Aiden carries a lot of baggage with him that confuses Clarissa and causes her to withdraw from him on a couple of occasions. An excellent read. Looking forward to book two. I voluntarily received an Advanced Readers Copy of this book.

Life is the Ultimate Gift. This superb book kept me riveted from start to finish. I have never read a JJ Sorel book before but hey she is one heck of a good writer. The story between Clarissa and Aiden flowed perfectly with lots of intrigue, the plot was intriguing and you definitely wanted to know all the way through what was going to happen next. The story was erotic, romantic, and of course you have to have quite a few baddies in the story who are trying to blackmail the dark character of Aiden as well as the naive Clarissa. This book was beautifully written and I highly recommend this as a must read. It’s part one of a series and I hope I can read the next upcoming book. I could go on about this book but hate to give spoilers away to other readers. What really intrigued me most of all was what this author doesn’t know about fine arts is not worth knowing. Fantastic job JJ and hope I can do more reviews for this really good writer. This is my honest review of an ARC I received.

Entrance by J.J. Sorel is the first book in The "Thornhill Trilogy" series. This is the story of Aidan Thornhill and Clarissa Moone.
Clarissa who has maxed out her money needs a job and goes on a interview. There she finds a lot of beautiful ladies and they are told that they have only one question to answer. Later she gets the call that she has the job. Although she doesn't formally meet her boss at first she does meet someone who she thinks is part of the help in that household.
Aidan is a rich man who likes to get what he wants and he wants Clarissa from the first time he sees her. Their attractions only grows...but they both have things from their past that might stir up trouble for them.
Their story does not end with this book and will continue in to book 2 "Enlighten" in this series.

I received an arc of this book from the publishers via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Clarissa is an art graduate but unable to find a job she is working temp jobs when she is sent to interview for a personal assistant position. Aidan Thornhill made his millions after military service which left deep scars in his mind. He is unable to resist the draw of his new personal assistant even though he has enough to concern himself with.

This book started out with a lot of promise but I found it a little too slow and the plot line too predictable. The author is clearly a fan of fifty shades of grey, while not bdsm there are definite similarities in the plot. As several other reviewers have pointed Regency era speak is the dialogue format which is not fitting with a modern era setting. For fans of fifty shades of grey, I would definitely recommend this book.
