I had to choose stability. Not just for now, or for a while, or even for a few years. I had to choose stability for the rest of my life.
Because he could just as easily choose to refuse meds, to self-medicate, or to live his life in a constant spiral of hypomania, full blown mania, and depression. A vicious cycle that would continue to hurt him, and those around him.
John chose stability.
They were one step closer to finishing this forever. Her forever was almost there.
She fought for him.
She loved him.
She had his back.
"It'll always be just you and me for this," Siena told him.
"We'll handle it. It's your life-your business. Those doors are shut, John."
"Where did you come from, bella donna? You seem a little too good to be true when it comes to us."
Siena laughed.
"I came from Brooklyn. And you know damn well I was made for you, John."
He gave her a quick kiss and said, "Damn right."
She had been his catalyst.
She had been his saving grace.
She was his everything.

"You're my one person, John."
"And you're mine, mia amore."

"...that was my biggest fear growing up."
Lucian looked back at him. "What?"
"Being the shame or disgrace of this family."
"...It's not you. It is moments in your life during darker times. Moments in witch you were not entirely yourself. Moments when you still needed help you were not getting....you were you, and you had your own set of obstacles to overcome. Yet, you were so focused, John, even on your worst days, and in your darkest moments. You had a goal that never changed in your life, and I wasn't sure whether to be proud, or terrified because of it....
You're not a disgrace to this family. You could never be, John...."
