This was a sensual, angst-filled, dramatic story that had a huge likeness to the Romeo and Juliet tragedy. Thankfully, Milo and Bree’s tale didn’t end in their own personal deaths, however, it still had the sting of tragedy. Their families were enemies, fighting over a feud that had existed for centuries. A fight that continued despite itself. And Milo and Bree were caught up somewhere in the middle. Sometimes you really can find love in a hopeless place. The characters were endearing, the plot was engaging, and the happy ending was the cherry on top of this hot fudge sundae.

I am clearly in the minority here, and I'm not sure why. Did I read a totally different book than everyone else?
The story line to this book was....weak. The Romeo and Juliet aspect wasn't believable, there was far too much background story to identify or connect with the main characters and to me, the love story was non-existent. There's nothing redeeming about this book, and beyond feeling like I wasted my time reading it, it will be easily forgotten. I gave it two stars because I did like the writing style of the author.

Book felt rushed at the end. Hard for me to like/follow author's writing style. That being said, I liked the Romeo and Juliet like theme to this story and I enjoyed both main characters.

I was excited for this book, after all it had hundreds of 4 and 5 star reviews. It had to be good...right? *sigh* Sadly it was so disappointing. I hated the H, he was an arrogant, smart aleck who naturally thought he was better than everyone else. I also hated the h, Bree was spineless and lacking in any self respect. The two families have been in a feud for years but this is easily fixed by the end of the book. There is the fat, donut eating, corrupt, sheriff so stereotypical to be laughable. The H and his brothers think any girl will just drop their panties and have sex with them because they are rich and did I mention they hate each other? Bree's brother is also a nasty character who spews filth toward his own sister and nephew, but hey suddenly all is good in this little sleepy town when the H shows up and puts everyone in their place. Add in the fact that his father openly encouraged his sons to commit murder and faced no consequences at all. And then there's the pages and pages and endless of pages of boring, moaning sex...the H and h are with each other four times in the entire book and have sex for three of those times. I found the entire story ridiculous and unrealistic. I'll not bother to read anything else from this author who clearly hates southern towns and has no respect toward women.

Rebel was an emotionally powerful story! Superbly written!!!!! R.R. Banks really brought out some strong feels. He brought his "A++" game when he wrote Bree & Milo's story. The book started out with one blazing hot scene that you will NOT forget to an amazing ending that you were sad to see happen.
Bree really did experience all levels of life - from the lowest to the highest and everywhere in between. The blood feud between the two families (The Longstreet's and The Sheridan's) - all the ugliness, greed, arrogance, losses, and the consequences of their ugly actions were really given the spotlight. The reader sees and feels "first hand" the consequences, the hope, the joy, and the love!
Noone in The Sheridan family had the intelligence, the strength, and the guts to stop the feud but Milo! He defied his father and brothers to find a way to end the feud. Milo is an a**hole at the beginning of the story. He matures superbly and with a lot of pain to become the man Bree wants to spend forever with. Bree and Milo are meant for each other!
Spectacular job, Mr. Banks! I cried all kinds of tears - from the ugly kind to happy. Have tissues and a fan ready. You're going to need the fan for all the steamy scenes between Bree & Milo. I loved this story! A million star read.

Wow!! R. R. Banks blew me away with this intense, emotional re-telling of Romeo and Juliet meets the Hatfields and McCoys set in the deep South. Milo is the oldest son of the Sheridan brothers. Generations ago, there was a hazy misunderstanding between the Sheridans and the Longstreets concerning a distillery secret. The feud is fuelled by the patriarchs of the respective families and the hatred is "bred" into the sons. Bree is the sweet, Southern daughter of Clyde Longstreet. Her 18th birthday party is a masked ball she designed herself. She meets an uninvited guest and he discovers just how "unsweet" Bree can be!
The growing hatred is too much for Milo, so he leaves town and returns 8 years later as tragedy has befallen his family. He has never forgotten the night he shared with Bree ... and she hasn't either.
Secrets are revealed, friendships are tested, family relationships are redrawn. And a murderer is on the loose. This book made me sob and cry, ugly cry; then I was screaming at my Kindle in frustration, then laughing, and ultimately, crying happy tears. R. R. Banks is fast becoming one of my favorite authors because of his kick-ass women, tender, alpha males, scorching sex, realistic dialogue, and fresh storylines, all with new twists on everyday tropes. I can't say I liked Milo and his brothers much at the start. The way they treated women, even women they felt they shouldn't treat that way was not on at all, and any excuses for boys will be boys is totally rubbish in my mind and not the way I will be raising my son I can tell you. Thankfully Milo grew up to be a much better person and I carried on reading.
When Milo and Bree met up again it was clear there was something between them, always had, and always would be. From this point the story really held my interest and had me wanting to find out what would happen next.
Personally I didn't think Milo had the right to be so angry with Bree and his thoughts and reasonings made me like him a bit less. I had strong issues with the amount of times the word 'Wh$@&' was used during sex and referencing women.
I've really had a hard time rating this book because taking out my personal issues, it IS a good story and well written, but I almost stopped reading at one point so I'm rating this based on that. I received an ARC for an honest review and you can't say I've not given that!

This book was just okay for me. I found the turmoil between the families to be stretched and unrealistic. The ending felt very rushed and unfinished. We barely learn what really happened to Timmy (although the motive is incredibly unclear) and not even until one of the final pages of the book. But what happened is never really explained. What about those who participated in the cover up? Nothing happens to all of them?
There were also several editing issues. Quotation marks where they didn't belong and a couple instances of words missing entirely.
This is the first book I've read by this author. I'm not sure if I'm going to continue.

Wow, I wasn’t even disappointed after reading this book. The author did his thing with this book. I definitely enjoyed it, didn’t even take me long to finish this book at all! I figured it was up to Milo to actually turn things around and end the beef that his family had with Bree family. It sucked that his younger brother died. I am not disappointed that his brother Zack got killed because he was actually calling for it and made himself that hole. He seems like an evil jealous person from the start from a teenager and still as an adult. I thought sure it was Clyde or Zack who killed Timothy but it was Clyde cousins smh what a shame. Also, having Bree and Milo be a family and forgive each other and take care of their son Owen made me happy because In the end, it was Milo who brought their family together if you actually look at. Great book, definitely couldn’t put it down once I started. Awesome!

The great plot was well written and the characters were so well developed that as I turned each page the chemistry between the characters kept me totally hooked until the very last page!

Some will call him a troublemaker. I, on the other hand, see in him a force of integrity. R.R. Banks has done it again! His love to always deliver a romantic story within a breathtaking, action-packed storyline has boost his talent to an upper writing level. Rebel shows that love of his loud and clear.
One town, two wealthy families, a rivalty between them that started centuries ago. For Bree Longstreet, being finally eighteen is a door to her adulthood and the many possibilities she can choose for her future. Well-known for her virtuousness and purity, Bree is the golden rose of Folson Forge much to her likings. Bree's face became a target after a nasty exposure of an intimate moment she had with Milo Sheridan. For eight years, Bree's life was officially ruined. However, now, the chance she needed to flee from her prison is finally on her hands and Bree is ready to grab it.
Milo Sheridan couldn't be more full of himself than he already was! His cocky attitude and smugness about his many conquests made him bet with his brothers on showing Bree's impurity to the public eye. An act just to piss off Longstreet family once again. The scene has been filmed, the video went live and Milo forced himself to enlisted to the army after a wild fight with both familie's members. Eight years, after, he is back to town renewed and established only to bury the past and move on. What is waiting him tho is nothing close to what he expected and he has to fight it with all his might for the porpoise of being eventually happy.
What a fine, arresting storyline! An enemies to lovers plot, with a Romeo and Juliet kind of theme at the beginning of it, is a new approach by the author to deliver once again an ideal romantic story. Bree and Milo sizzle as a couple when they went carnal. For me, Bree is exactly what I would like from her to see being in this situation. On the other hand, Milo was a heck of a character. Troubled. Manly. A force to do only justice when it matters most. I would like to see him in a few tender scenes with Bree tho.
To summarize, the author was once again able to mix the right amount of romance and action to get a beautiful story. Fast paced and well-written Rebel was a full consuming novel. Until next time, enjoy your free time reading great books with the most unforgettable stories.

I loved the Romeo and Juliet aspect of this story. The way the two families hated each other and the the new generation who wanted to break free but wasn’t sure how. Then you had those extra characters that weren’t family members but could help and did in their own way. The ending was perfect!

Bree is a lovely young woman who is beautiful, caring, and feisty. everyone loves her. It's her 18th birthday party and it's a masked party. When she notices this man is a tux and amazing blue eyes following her around her home. He smiles at her when he sees her watching him and she tries to hide but he just keeps following her. She doesn't know who is is, but she'd love to find out!! Well she does get to meet him at the gazebo in the garden away from everyone else and he seduces her with his words and kisses but refuses to say who he is. They have wild passionate s*x during which he films her without her knowledge [yes, he is a major JERK] and gets her phone number but does let her know his nor his name! His name is Milo and is the eldest of four sons of her family's enemy No. 1 within their town. When he gets home he lets his brothers know that he's won their bet!! But Zach , second brother, won't believe him till they see the video on his phone. Milo agrees reluctantly agrees though he has genuine feelings for Bree and doesn't want to hurt her! He the n takes his phone but forgets to delete the copy on his brother's computer!! next day he finds out when her brother Clyde comes ready to beat him up that someone [i.e. Zach] has uploaded the video to the internet and now everyone knows. Then Sheriff Burns comes along and saves him and has a chat with Milo that changes his life for the better when he persuades him to join the marines and get a real life for himself instead of following in the family business in which he has no interest. He agrees and, enlists and leaves the family and the town for eight years. Little really caring what the fallout is for Bree. Next thing he's back for the funeral of his youngest brother, Timmy, who was never a part of that incident but Milo finds out that he didn't die in an accident but was murdered! He also sees Bree and is absolutely stunned by her beauty but she hates him now as there were major consequences for her being with him that one time. Now he finds out one secret he wants to get to know as much about as possible , try to have a second and real chance with Bree as well as find out who murdered his brother without more bloodshed. This an amazing story by R.R. Banks and I just couldn't put the book down till I'd read it all. Such a fantastic storyline with great characters [Bree, Milo, Elizabeth and Sheriff Burns] who make this so intense and show true loyalties, abusive relationships and love. Do Bree and Milo have any chance of being together? Will Clyde let Milo anywhere near his sister? Who murdered Timmy and will Milo be able to stop any more killing and try to cause peace between the two warring families?? Wow! Another slam dunk for R.R. Banks with this hot as hell romantic book! This was an awesome book packed with murder, mystery, drama, blood feuds, intrigue, and passion continue to keep you glued to the pages of this fascinating story. This book was impossible to put down, and it will have you on the edge of your seat. From the very first page, I was spellbound by these fantastically described characters that are so believable that you will find yourself falling in love with—or not. This book reminds me of the Hatfields and McCoys bitterly feuding rival families whereas the Hatfields were wealthy and the McCoys were a lower middle-class family, but this story is a more modern version of having two rival families that were wealthy in Georgia—the Sheridans vs. Longstreets. Centuries later, the blood feud between the Sheridans and Longstreets has become synonymous with the perils of family honor, justice, and revenge. I loved the characters of Milo Sheridan and Bree Longstreet. Milo is rich, handsome with sky blue eyes, arrogant, powerful, spoiled, entitled, but sexy as hell! Bree is also rich, shy, virtuous, pure, town’s golden girl, and comes from the second wealthiest family in Georgia. This story starts out eight years prior when Bree has her eighteenth masked birthday party, Milo attends and he is on a mission to seduce Bree—a bet he made with his other three brothers (Zachary, Dalton, and Quentin—Q), but Timothy was too young to participate. After Milo seduces Bree in her gazebo and a video was made, all hell breaks out. The feud centuries ago has nothing on the feud that is about to transpire between the Sheridan and Longstreet families once the video is released. Did Milo really intend to hurt Bree to get back at her family? The chemistry between Milo and Bree is off-the-chart hot and it causes sparks that are explosive. You get a chance to see the progression of their love—theirs was not a quick and easy love story because they had to overcome some issues, but loves does prevail. There’s something thrilling about watching a fictional drama unfold as you are reading. This is one story I would like to see made into a movie. There are several twists and turns within the story that makes it interesting. The scenes are well written, fast-paced and flow smoothly from one scene to the next. The book will pique your interest and draw you in from the beginning to the very end.
Wow! Another slam dunk for R.R. Banks with this hot as hell romantic book! This was an awesome book packed with murder, mystery, drama, blood feuds, intrigue, and passion continue to keep you glued to the pages of this fascinating story. This book was impossible to put down, and it will have you on the edge of your seat. From the very first page, I was spellbound by these fantastically described characters that are so believable that you will find yourself falling in love with—or not. I have to say I LOVED this story, One of my all time favorites by RR Banks,
We have what I totally get as a small southern town (I live in one myself and OMG he did
such an amazing job in the description not only of the life but the rumor mills too)
This book starts out with Bree celebrating her 18th birthday in a very fancy and
expensive way, A full out Masquerade party where everyone is dressed in formal wear
and masks. Bree has noticed the gorgeous dark haired man watching her all night
She can tell he is not one of her high school friends just by the way he carries himself
and by his Tux. It is not a cheap rental like so many are wearing tonight.
Milo cannot take his eyes off of Bree tonight. He knows why he is there but things
change once he goes through with "the plan" Yes he made a bet with his brothers.
Zach, Dalton, and Quinn (Q) But once he collects his money from them he warns
them that the part about releasing the video is OFF.
Well you have to know what happens there. We fast forward 8 years and OMG things
have changed and stayed the same in this small Georgia town. Bree is basically a recluse
in her families plantation hiding her son Owen from everyone in town, I mean what would
people think of her family if they knew she had a child out of wedlock and as a teen OMG.
Anyway Milo has returned to bury his youngest brother Timothy. Who tragically died in a fire.
We have so much going on in this book, Not only a blood feud between Milo's family and
Bree's family that has gone on for generations, We have murder, we have Bree's brother UGH
we have Milo's brothers who turn into their father. Milo got out he went into the military all because
of the sheriff at the time told him he saw potential in him and that would be the best thing for him

I really liked this story from R.R. Banks,,,
This story is about Bree Longstreet, she lives in Folson, Georgia, on her 18th birthday party,, everyone is dressed in costume with a mask on,,, her best friend, Elizabeth, who is the sheriff's daughter is with her, they both go to Wellbrook Academy for Girls,, there has been a very long fued between the Longstreet's and the Sheridan's over the making and the owning of Folson Forge Bourbon, way back in history ,,, on this night, her birthday, this guy is following her around, his mask is on and she does not recognize who this guy is, she walks into the kitchen he follows, she talks to him, then she leaves and he follows her to the gazebo, outside he tells her she is the most beautiful women he's ever seen,,,, he makes the moves on Bree and they start making out, which leads to him taking out a condom and they make love out in the gazebo,,,,
His name is Milo Sheridan, he has 4 brothers, Zachary, Dalton, and Quentin (or"Q"), ad Timmy,,,, he and his brothers have a bet that Milo cant get close enough to Bree, let alone make love to her and record it,,,,, Milo feels bad enough that he does not want it public but figures showing just his brothers, would be fine,,,, but after that, nobody needs to see it,,,, although, in his absents, his brothers put it out on the web,,,, and then the stuff hits the fan,,,,
Ok,,,, that is so not all that happens by a long shot but, of course, I can't tell you what happens,,,, that wouldn't be right,,, and it would leave all the fun out for you,,,,, this was such a fun book to read,,, you wont want to put it down,,, and just when you think something's going to happen,,,, something else does,, it drves you crazy, but in a great way,,, grab this book, you wont be sorry,,,, I know I wasnt,,,,

Author R.R. Banks has once again outdone himself! Rebel is an engaging story that will hold readers spellbound start to finish. The characters are engaging, well-defined...memorable. You will fall in love with some and hope to avoid others....and you emotions will be well tested. There are twists you will not see coming and the ending is no exception! Block plenty of time for this one because when you start, you will not want to stop until the very end...and then you will be begging Mr. Banks for more!
The story is about a feud that began in Folson Forge, Georgia over one hundred years ago between two families. Despite the feud and the sketchy details surrounding it's origin, both families are still in Folson Forge. The Sheridans own Folson Forge Bourbon and the Longstreets own an empire of hardware stores.
Despite the fact that both families have thrived, and their wealth is well established...the feud lives on and the next generation is expected to carry on the hate. This expectation sets in motion a chain of events will take readers on an emotional roller coaster of highs and lows that will have you gripping your reader and gasping for breath.
Although it has some tense situations, it is about love and the possibility for second chances. The background is steeped in hate but somehow, love finds a crack and hope is kindled. You will experience pain, love, sadness, joy and bliss..along with a generous portion of steam. My heart is full and Banks has my gratitude for a job very well done.
I received a reader copy and am expecting this one to hit the top of the charts...it's that good.

i read this book as part of an arc program, I loved this story, it was a little like Romeo and Juliet meets The Hatfields and McCoys. This story takes place in a small town in Georgia where image is everything. There was a long running feud between the Longstreet and the Sheridan families that traced back generations. When the story starts it is Bree Longstreet's 18th birthday party and it is a masked ball. Bree notices a handsome stranger watching her all night from across the room. When she asks him who he is, he wants to keep the mystery. When he follows her outside, Bree is attracted to him and the flirting is heating up. When he tells her to submit to him, she does. He then leaves and she wonders who he was. It turns out the mystery man was Milo Sheridan, and he won a bet with his brothers when he showed a video of him with Bree. Milo has a change of heart and doesn't want the video released as they first planned, but his brother released it anyway. This caused Bree to be treated like she brought shame to her family. Milo left town, but instead of returning to college, he enlisted in the marines, much to his father disappointment. Eight years later, Milo returns to town for the funeral of his youngest brother and learns his brother didn't dies accidentally in a fire, but the feud could be behind it. Bree is still living home, but she doesn't have much of a life, but she does have a big secret. When Milo wants to apologize, Bree wonders if he really means it and if he could be a way to leave town and start over. I love this book, it had twists and turns, as well has danger and drama. Once I started, I couldn't put it down, I was hooked from the start. Great one!

Rebel is a modern-day story of the Hatfield’s and the McCoy’s and is about Milo and Bree.
Bree Longstreet is somewhat sheltered, the only daughter I the family and overly protected by her brother. She is treasured until something happens in her life and she turns into the overly sheltered/prison like, black sheep, rebel and stain on the family name. Hard thing to endure at only eighteen where it progressively gets worse in present day (eight years later).
Milo Sheridan is the eldest son who should inherit the family business. Problem is, he doesn’t want it. He doesn’t want to turn out like his dad or the next line, his brother where all they do is perpetrate the feud between the two families. He wants to do more with his life. Through some fatherly advice from the local sheriff, Milo leaves Folson Forge, Georgia and joins the Marines. He has to come back ‘home’ for a very sad, but suspicious situation. Unfortunately, his returning home is not a good thing and opens some scabbed wounds through the two families and local townsfolk.
RR Banks did a wonderful job including all emotions and feels and not just from a singular character. All the characters had their own unique characteristics that gave a little something to the overall story. Rebel not only had an underlying meaning, but was completely passion-filled. Rebel is an emotional read with an underlying theme that all lead to a wonderful second chance romance.

Rebel who learns a cause
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Despite, in my opinion, a very rocky start, I ended up enjoying most of this tale of feuds, lies, secrets, and true love. The characters were distinct, different, and hella dysfunctional; making them memorable. I feel like I need to give a shout out to Riggs, my favourite supporting character.
Okay, silliness aside, I have to mention the horrible, and I mean shockingly horrible, behaviors displayed by the male protagonist, Milo, and his brothers in the first chapter or two. Their awfullness impacted the female protagonist, Bree, the most and in far-reaching, life-altering ways. They were entitled, maliciously arrogant, COMPLETELY disrespectful of women in a variety of ways, and lacking any sense of accountability for their tone deaf actions. Milo did grow up and lose that heinousness, in fact turning into an inspiration of a man, but the first bit really bothered me. I also found the "dirty talk" off-putting.
I had some trouble connecting with the story initially, due in part, I am sure, to the fact I'm a Yankee aware of the year I am living in. Awareness of the modernity of the year was something many of the characters lacked. Once I got past that, though, the story unfolded into a deep, sweeping drama with action, real emotion, a sense of purpose, and the realization of the story's potential. It ended up being moving and beautiful, the kind of story you reread fondly.

I really struggled with this rating waffling back and forth between 2 and 3 stars. Anyone who watches my ratings knows 3 stars for me is just a mediocre read and rarely given ratings that low or lower. The story had a good premise and one that I read before . The Sheridan and Longstreet families have a generations long blood feud . When Milo and Bree come together for one night there are life changing consequences, ones that will cost family members their lives . So many things bothered me in this book but let me start with the worst . The sex scenes were over exaggerated, kind of cheesy like they were role playing, repetitive, and used as filler to make this book longer . When I say used as filler I mean there were so many pages of sex I found my self skipping through those pages . Bree acted like a possessed cowgirl during the sex scenes and I never really felt chemistry or a connection between Bree and Milo. This book could use a reredit and re release. It has good bones but needs some help conveying the story . The characters were very weird as well. Sometimes it was like they were two different people . Very inconsistent in their personality traits. One last complaint, the book ends at 25% and while other novels are including this story seemed too short to me . That all being said if you like the stories with family feuds this is still worth the read . Just skim past some of the nonsense.

Terrible. I don’t know why anyone would read this. Plot is just not there. Hero and heroine just didn’t do it for me, they were just plain stupid tbh.
I didn’t really get this book. The “rivalry” feels were just not there, he didn’t fight for her like I was expecting. When he found out about his kid he got all mad calling her a bitch and asking her how she lied like wtf dude you ruined her life with that video and you left her what were you expecting her to do? Also you barely knew her so why are you so hurt she “lied” thing is she never even lied she just didn’t tell you in the ONE day you spend together! They were both going on and on about how they were both connected and meant to be together when they literally met TWICE. Twice in the entire book before the epilogue.
Also the heroine was so unrealistic. Like he ruins your life with a sex tape, makes you lose your family, be trapped for so many year and leaves you with a child and all you do when he comes back is just sleep with him again? “W.T.F is wrong with you???” Was all I could think the entire time. An actual real person in the real world would have never even looked at that person again let alone sleep with them and then just forgive, saying that you need to “beg him for forgiveness” when he gets mad about not telling him about his son.
This book honestly just made me mad lol like I was screaming in my head at the characters. DON’T READ.

I bought Rebel on a whim. I saw an ad for it on a social networking site, read the comments, read the reviews, then thought, “Hey, it’s only $0.99. If I don’t like it, I’m not out much.” Well, I loved the story, the characters, the tragedy, and the romance. The whole story is pretty much gut-wrenching and full of heartache. A decades old feud has Milo and Bree on opposite sides of the line drawn in the sand. Rebel is set in your typical small town but the old-fashioned feud is less typical and comes to a dangerous culmination, sides are chosen, and lives are lost. The twists and turns make for a very suspenseful read.
Bree, Milo, and the Longstreet and Sheridan clans are wonderful, well-developed characters. The author does a great job describing the characters and building a world the reader can visualize. The emotional content; happy, sad, and everything in between, adds believable depth to the characters, the situations, the romance, and the feud. Feuds in stories are nothing new, however, R.R. Banks does a great job developing one that’s different from anything I’ve read.
I’m glad I took a chance on Rebel. I was not disappointed in the story, characters, or theme. Please note, though, that the book isn’t as long as the Kindle file you’ll get. Even so, the story is developed well, enjoyable, and has a satisfying ending.
