Conspiracy Game is the 4th book in the GhostWalkers series and it was flippin awesome. What is better than a book about Sexy twin Super Soldiers Nothing!!!!!!
“I want you more than anything, Jack. I’m absolutely sure.”
What this book is about
Jack Norton has been taken prisoner by Rebels in the Congo after rescuing his brother from the same Rebels. They have been torturing him and he knows he won't make it much longer. Jack makes a break for it and escapes. While running he meets up with Briony who is a Ghostwalker like him. She saves his life and patches him up. The heat between them is so hot neither can fight it. They end up having wild sex. Jack knows he can't have Briony even if she is the only woman he has ever wanted a life with. He knows he is messed up and wants her to have a good life with a man that is better for her so he leaves her. It is the hardest thing he has ever done. 8 weeks later Briony shows up at his home asking for help. She is pregnant with his children and Dr. Peter Whitney is trying to kidnap her to get his hands on their children. In that moment Jack knows two things for sure. He will protect her and his babies with his life and he won't let her go this time.

Jack:
Jack is broody, and hard. He and his brother ken have had a hard life. Jack never lets himself get close to anyone because he fears he will become the monster his father was. He is your total bad ass alpha male. Domineering, protective, and possessive. It is so sweet how hard he tries to soften himself for Briony. He wants to make her happy and he tries to be romantic, but he is more caveman. He is antisocial so it is sweet the way he opens himself up for Briony. He has a very vulnerable side that makes him more endearing. The way he is about the babies. OMG I am a sucker for babies in stories and good fathers are so sexy. I love Jack.
“It’s so fucking real, baby, I want to pick you up, wrap your legs around my waist, and bury myself deep inside you right here. Right now.” His voice roughened. “I can taste you in my mouth. I’m breathing you in with every breath I take. Don’t tell me it isn’t like that for you. It’s real and we both know it.”
“Hello in there. Come to attention. This is your father talking. Your mom’s a little afraid of this twin thing. We’re going to have to ease her into it, so don’t go kicking too hard at first. Give her a little time to adjust.” “The baby book says the baby can hear and eventually recognize our voices, but not this early.” “But they aren’t talking about our babies, Briony. They hear me. They know. And they aren’t going to be little soldiers for Whitney and his fucked-up plans.”

Briony:

Briony is great. She is very brave. She has fears about a lot of things but she faces all her fears head on and I love that. I really felt for Briony because when Jack left her the first time he was a jerk about it and it really hurt her. It took a lot of courage to go to him for help. She is very sweet and a little shy. She is loyal and loves her brothers. She knows how to pick her battles and how to handle strong willed men, but she does not let them push her around. She does what she feels is right no matter what. I love that she always shows her true self whatever she is thinking or feeling she is up front about it. She is very good for Jack because she is understanding , patience, and gives her love unconditionally!
“I’ve been keeping the baby safe, tough guy. You ran off, after fucking me, remember? Being the baby’s biological father doesn’t give you the right to dictate to me. In fact you have no rights when it comes to me. I asked for help protecting the baby, not someone to order me around.”
“Hello! Are you both morons? I’m pregnant. That means emotional. I’m not supposed to be the one with the cool head here. I’m supposed to fall apart at the drop of a hat; it’s my prerogative. You two are supposed to smile and nod and agree with everything I say.”
“I’m asking you to love me, Jack. If you can love me and accept me for myself, I can do the same for you. I can give you anything you need. I don’t want to be here, forcing you to give up your life for me because we happen to have made a baby together. And I’m no martyr to give up my life for you with nothing in return but protection.”

Jack and Briony together are so sweet. They balance each other well. So much of the story is about the babies and Jack, Briony, and Ken as a family. It was just melt your heart touching. I love the brother bonding. Conspiracy Game was action packed and kept a nice pace, but you got a nice slow build up on jack and Briony's relationship. I love everyone in this book and I felt just as attached to Ken as I did to the leads. I am so glad to see Flame and Lily doing better together. Another great book for this series. I am on to the next one. Below I leave my favorite moment from this book:
“Boys?” She caught his head in her hands, forcing him to look up at her. “Not boys. Boys are difficult. They do all sorts of boy things.” “Not girls, Briony. Can you see me trying to keep up with two little girls? And what happens when they get older and some boy wants to take them on a date?” He groaned and once again stretched out, turning on his side to prop himself up with one elbow. “I’d either lock the girls in closets or spend my life picking off hopeful horny teenagers.” “Hopeful horny teenagers?” she echoed. “We’d have to homeschool the girls and put up a twelve-foot barbwire electric fence complete with a security system.” “Let me get this straight. If we have boys, they can run wild and be free, but our daughters will be locked up in closets and behind fences for all time.” “That’s about right,”

Audiobook reread completed in June 2020.
I can't add much more. I just love this series like crazy. Every couple of years or so, I have to reread all the books!
Reread in the month of August, 2016
My sister and I are doing a buddy read, although I've zipped ahead. I can't help it. These books are so addictive to me.
Great to experience Jack and Briony's story again. This book has practically nonstop action, which is great, but I also loved the interpersonal moments between Jack and Briony, Jack and his brother Ken, and with the other GhostWalkers. This is well named. There is a serious conspiracy, Whitney has decided that he wants to take the GhostWalker program to the second generation, starting with pairing Jack and Briony. He doesn't mind moving people like chess pieces, even though it ended up with Ken being horribly tortured, and killing Briony's parents.
Jack is a hard man, but Briony finds his heart and teaches him to love without fear. One of my personal favorites in a romance story is a hard man who falls for a woman. He's not a marshmallow in general, but for Briony, most definitely.
I almost want to reread this book again, but I know at least I can keep moving and read all the wonderful books that follow this one.

My Thoughts:
I did not want to put this book down, which is saying something for a reread. I feel that as much as I loved the first three books, I can see the storyline coming together in a lovely way, and I can imagine that Ms. Feehan is as excited at writing these books as I am a reading them.
Jack--
Jack is hardcore and dark. I loved him. I think that he was authentic. I can imagine with his tragic family past, he would go down that path. What I appreciated was that for self-image, Jack is not the unworthy man that he thinks he is. For all his ability to kill with ice water in his veins and his gruff way of expressing himself. He shows a sense of honor and integrity, and the ability to be tender and loving. He's what Dr. Bill Winston would consider a transition figure. Instead of continuing the cycle of violence that his father perpetuated, he chooses something different. Despite the fact that he believed himself unable to love, it's clear that he does love deeply. One of the best things about this book is the way he takes care of the two most important people in his life, Briony, and his brother Ken. Actions always speak louder than words. Not a man that a lot of women could love, but I think the right woman definitely could love him. And that woman is Briony.
Briony--
Briony is a woman who shows what courage is. She feels that she is always afraid of everything, and she hates that about herself. Sometimes we can't help being afraid, but what we do in the face of that fear is the really important thing. Briony has fought to live in a world that is hostile to her because of her psychic abilities. Being around people causes her pain and anguish. And with her family profession, she is around a lot of people, and works through that pain to do something that could be life-threatening everyday as a high-wire performer. When she encounters Jack Norton, she acts as a champion, continually facing her fears and not allowing herself to be boxed in or caged by them. She takes steps that make me quake in my boots, and I loved her for it. I am a broken record. I really do appreciate the heroines in this series. Each one unique and wonderful.
Ken--
Even though Ken is a secondary character. He is a very important one. His role in this book is crucial and adds delightful flavor to the book. He shows without words that Jack is not the lacking man that he thinks, but also augments Briony's understanding of Jack in important ways. He pokes, prods and matchmakes this couple together, and provides some delightful comic relief. He helps to makes this book the successful read that it is.
This book focuses more closely on the particular couple in focus than the GhostWalkers as a group, which some readers may like. I always enjoy the fellowship of this group, so I missed that, but the more intimate dynamics of Briony and Jack along with Ken definitely make for a rich read. The GhostWalkers show up a little, so that was good. I love how this story forwards the overlying storyline. The conspiracy thickens as we become aware that things are not as they seem, and the mastermind of the GhostWalker plan has even more sinister plans. Even on second read, this book makes me so excited to read the subsequent books!

This book rocked my world. which is why I made myself put it down after four am to go to bed. When I woke up this morning, I immediately reached for it to pick up where I left off. Jack is a hero after my heart. I love the dangerous, gamma heroes, and I liked that he did worry that he was too dangerous and too intense to be with a woman. But when it came to Briony and his unborn babies, he's a marshmallow but will kill or die for them. The relationship between Jack and his twin Ken was really cool. I was glad that Briony and Ken got along so well. I liked Briony's brothers and how they protected her when danger came at her.
The plotline was pretty unique. I love pregnancy storylines anyway, but the pregnancy theme was used in such an unforgettable and creative way. Imagine a plot to pair you up with a warrior so you can breed second generation warrior offspring. Pretty interesting. Both Briony and Jack worried that the intense connection between them was just engineered. Maybe it started that way but they were definitely fated to be mated.
The action was incredible and there is no question that Jack and Ken are badasses, and so is Briony. She has tremendous inner strength to survive as an empath in a family that is full of loud people and as a performer in a circus. You can't help but admire her and you know that she was meant for Jack.
I can't help but fall more in love with Christine Feehan as an author. She knows how to write men that will keep your interest and keep you drooling. And the women are so perfect for them and admirable in their own right. This is one book that I didn't want to end. But at least I get to read Ken's book next. Yay!

I really, really enjoyed this book! It's my favorite in the series so far, and Jack is just too yummy for words. :)
Jack was a very dark and tortured hero. A true "killing machine", he really didn't feel any remorse for the lives he took. None whatsoever. Anyone who dared to threaten him, someone he loved or something he believed in, deserved to die. It was that simple. He had a code of honor of his own, one that hardly anyone understood. People respected him, but no one liked him - except his brother Ken, that is.
That changed when he met Briony, of course. She was an overall nice and nonconfrontational heroine, which was a departure from the other heroines in the previous books in the series. Considering Jack's obsessive and dominant behavior towards her, I think it was a smart choice to have someone like her paired up with him. Not that she was a doormat or anything like that, she just knew she didn't have to fight him all the way up to get what she wanted.
The story was packed with a lot of action and had me sitting on the edge of the couch right from the start. There was so much going on - Jack escaping the rebels in Congo, setting up the destruction of their camp, meeting Briony, almost getting recaptured by the remaining rebels, having Briony save his life, seeking shelter and hiding in her room, asking her brother Jebediah for help, having sex with Briony, and finally hurting her on purpose and leaving with no intention of seeing her again -, I could hardly breathe. I think I was panting by the end of Chapter 5, LOL.
Chapter 6 was especially "delicious" for me. I got to revisit Lily and the GhostWalkers team, had fun with the usual easy banter between Gator and Flame (the H/h in Night Game, the previous book in the series), and thoroughly enjoyed the computer science tech-talk that explained how Dr. Whitney had been able to keep track of them... Oh yes, I believe the good doctor is alive!
After that small "respite", Briony found out she was pregnant, and fists and bullets were back to the story with a vengeance. If I have a minor complaint about this book is, its ending is quite abrupt: bullet shells and dead bodies were still hot on the ground while Jack, Briony, Ken and the GhostWalkers rescue team were flying away to Lily's house. I'm going to assume they got there safely, even though one can never bet on that considering how many times Dr. Whitney had managed to trick and track them before. Anyway, it was one heck of a way to get me really anxious to read Deadly Game, the next book in the series. I hope Ken's story is as good as his brother Jack's.
Jack was a very dark and tortured hero. A true "killing machine", he really didn't feel any remorse for the lives he took. None whatsoever. Anyone who dared to threaten him, someone he loved or something he believed in, deserved to die. It was that simple. He had a code of honor of his own, one that hardly anyone understood. People respected him, but no one liked him - except his brother Ken, that is.
That changed when he met Briony, of course. She was an overall nice and nonconfrontational heroine, which was a departure from the other heroines in the previous books in the series. Considering Jack's obsessive and dominant behavior towards her, I think it was a smart choice to have someone like her paired up with him. Not that she was a doormat or anything like that, she just knew she didn't have to fight him all the way up to get what she wanted.
The story was packed with a lot of action and had me sitting on the edge of the couch right from the start. There was so much going on - Jack escaping the rebels in Congo, setting up the destruction of their camp, meeting Briony, almost getting recaptured by the remaining rebels, having Briony save his life, seeking shelter and hiding in her room, asking her brother Jebediah for help, having sex with Briony, and finally hurting her on purpose and leaving with no intention of seeing her again -, I could hardly breathe. I think I was panting by the end of Chapter 5, LOL.
Chapter 6 was especially "delicious" for me. I got to revisit Lily and the GhostWalkers team, had fun with the usual easy banter between Gator and Flame (the H/h in Night Game, the previous book in the series), and thoroughly enjoyed the computer science tech-talk that explained how Dr. Whitney had been able to keep track of them... Oh yes, I believe the good doctor is alive!
After that small "respite", Briony found out she was pregnant, and fists and bullets were back to the story with a vengeance. I'm Enjoying revisiting this series and this fourth book is my favourite to date. This one focuses on Jack Norton and Briony Jenkins. We were first introduced to Jack briefly in a previous book. He's from another team of ghostwalkers and he and his twin brother Ken are both deadly killing machines and expert snipers. After the rescue of his brother from enemy territory in the Congo, Jack is captured and detained. Escaping into the jungle and with an ice-cold focus he sets to destroying his adversities, the individuals he holds responsible for his brother Ken's torture and mutilation.
Briony has always felt different adopted by her family who are circus performers she faces daily debilitating pain but forces herself to endure. When Briony and Jack's paths collide they forge an intense connection before Jack is then extradited by his team leaving Briony behind.
When the unexpected occurs Briony needs protection fast. She's been plugged headfirst into a dangerous new reality she had no idea even existed and she's without a rule book. Now being hunted by Doctor Whitney and his people she turns to the only person she believes can protect herJack Norton.
This was a fast-paced read and It's my favourite book in this series to date. I adored the dynamic that develops between these two. Jack is a stone-cold killer who struggles with needing control and he realises that whoever he's with will have to endure his dominant take charge nature. He also has deep baggage left over from his childhood and is terrified of morphing into his abusive father so he's always believed he would go it alone. That is until he meets Briony and then all bets are off. He desperately wants her for his own but at the same time wants to shield and protect her from what he considers his dark flaws.
Growing up with four bossy brothers means Briony is used to domineering males. She's got a quiet energy about her but she's also not afraid to put her foot down when she needs to. She felt different from our previous heroines, much gentler and more naive mostly due to her semi-normal upbringing within a loving family. She's also the perfect counterpart to offset Jack's dominance bringing out the nurturing protective side he wasn't aware he had.
Jack and his twin Ken are Briony's last defence against the doctor's plan to reacquire her, They are not prepared to let that happen meaning this results in all-out warfare. This was action-packed and explosive stuff. The romance was also totally swoon-worthy and I adored these two together. We also got some big reveals that I'm sure will be explored more in the next book which is Ken's I believe. I'm looking forward to reading that one again as it was one of my firm favourites when I initially read this series. If you like action and suspense mixed in with obsessive kill to keep you safe males this series has you covered.

Conspiracy Game is a story I have been meaning to write a review for but never managed it. So now I am wanting to share my thoughts on a classic Feehan romance that is a must read for any lovers of romantic suspense or paranormal romance. Our heroine tha tis feature in this book here, has no clue that her life will change when she saves Jack's life. And boy do sparks fly between these two and they have sex at the beginning of the book. But then Jack leaves Briony, and Briony finds out that she is pregnant and that she is one of the girls that Dr. Whitney experimented on when she was little and now her whole family is in danger because Whitney and his soldiers are after her and she refuses to put her brothers or parents at risk. So she goes to Jack's home which is very remote but she can't afford to put her family in danger and she knows how protective he is of his brother and is hoping he will feel the same way about his own child. Jack had the hardest time leaving Briony first but when she comes to him for help he knows that he could never leave her again. But he also knows that there is a great danger and will protect her and his brother and his future child no matter what.
Conspiracy Game is one of those special books that I have had on my shelf because it is so dang good. I can't tell you how many times I have read this one but I have really loved it so much. There is so much chemistry and "all the feels" in this book. I just love seeing Jack and Briony figure out some balance in their relationship. And yeah the sparks are HOT between them, but there is also more than just sex involved here. We see some fun bonding moments between the brothers and between Ken and Briony, who helps her understand why Jack is so commanding and controlling at times.

Jack felt his heart jump in his chest. He glanced at his sleeping brother. "Did he say why?"
"Yes." She kept her voice sober. "He said you have to ask me properly."
Relief made him weak. His pulse beat at his temples, throbbed in his neck. For one moment his fingers closed in her hair in a tight fist. "Properly? If I ask, you might say no, so I'm thinking we'll just start off right and I'll tell you and we'll get the thing done."
"Get the thing done?" Briony echoed.
Ken snorted aloud. "Jack, I'll take over watch and you get some sleep. I think you fried your brain up there on the roof."
"Pipe down over there." Jack said. "You're already stirring up trouble."
"Get the thing done?" Briony repeated slowly. "The thing being what exactly?"
"The ceremony. The paperwork. Whatever the hell it takes to make it legal."
Briony sat up and glared at him. "Take your 'it' and shove it, Jack."
"There's no need ti be getting upset, Briony. We can't exactly go around with a bunch of kids and not do whatever the hell it is one does to make it legal."
"Whatever the hell it takes to make what legal?"
He shrugged. "How the hell would I know? I've never done this before. Sleeping together I guess."
"So you are going to marry me so it's legal to sleep with me?"
"This isn't coming out right."
"You think?"
"Don't get upset, baby,. I don't understand why you're getting upset.”
But what is most impressive about Jack is that he allows Briony to argue and stand on her own. He respects her just in his own way and I like that he encourages her to be herself but he might stop her from endagering herself like trying to climb up the roof while pregnant and its the middle of the night or dumping out her coffee because she is pregnant. But they are a riot together and so entertaining seeing them find some compromise in their relationship and we get see Jack humble himself a bit for the woman who holds his heart.
“I absolutely love you, Briony, and I am on my knees. So we're getting married - right? But say it fast before we get shot."
Only Jack would ask - if you could call it asking - in the middle of a battlefield, with a man lying dead at his feet.”

Conspiracy Game is the Ghostwalker story of Briony and Jack.
The first time I read the back cover of this book, I was totally bummed. Who cares about Jack? He’s just another military badass that just so happens to NOT be any of the other yummy male characters who have been introduced into this series.
Nonetheless, Christine Feehan did write this novel and it is a piece of one of my all time favorite series ever. A must read!
Jack is an elite sniper (aren’t they all?) who has been taken prisoner by rebels in Africa while attempting to rescue his twin brother, Ken. The beginning of this book takes place at a rebel camp. Jack is sliced and suffering from the torture he has endured. If this isn’t your cup of tea, take a deep breath and push through. The rest of the book is worthy it!
He opened his eyes to narrow slits to look around him, to plan out each step of his escape, but even that tiny movement sent pain shooting through his skull. The agony from the last beating was nearly shattering, but he didn’t dare lose consciousness. They would kill him next time, and next time was coming much quicker than he had anticipated. if he didn’t find a way out soon, all the physical and psychic enhancements in the world wouldn’t save him.
Briony is a sweet little thing, or so she seems on the exterior. A member of the fantastic flying five, her family travels all over the world performing for audiences. Without an anchor, Briony suffers but continues to persevere out of love for her brothers.
As with most alpha male saves the sweet female who is saving the alpha male’s existence, Briony and Jack share hilarious moments of clashing eye-opening moments.
There are some very interesting scenes in this book. A must read!

This book does not need to be read in sequence with the rest of the Ghostwalker series, although .. If you want to read this series, I suggest you begin with Shadow Game. The characters are outstanding and the unique storyline is intriguing and at times heart wrenching.

Cuarto libro de los Caminantes Fantasmas. Los protagonistas aquí son Jack Norton (introducido en el libro n° 2) y Briony, una de las chicas con las que Whitney experimentó de niña.
Briony, hasta ahora parecer la única que fue adoptada de verdad. Estuvo viviendo en Europa, criada por un matrimonio de acróbatas que manejaban un circo. Tiene cuatro hermanos mayores y Jebediah es el mayor (a él lo conocimos también en el libro de Daliah).
Bien, aunque el principio no me gustó a medida que Briony y Jack están juntos encarando los problemas se hace más llevadero. No sentí gran química entre ellos y el sexo fue aburrido pero hay algo en los lobos solitarios que me atraen terriblemente. Jack y Ken son mi tipo, por decirlo de algún modo, viven aislados, han hecho todo por sí mismos y construido su hogar con sus propias manos. Solo por Ken este libro es aceptable, ver la dinámica entre los hermanos me entretenía, tienen una conexión muy profunda. Así y todo, Nick y Daliah siguen siendo mis consentidos de esta serie y nadie se les acerca a los talones.

I love Jack Norton. He's my hero. This book was great, one of my favourites out of the Ghostwalker series. I could easily re-read it a dozen times. Briony was pretty damn kick-ass herself. She refused to be a hindrance. Yep, loved her, too.

Another great addition to Christine Feehan’s Ghostwalker Series and once again – I LOVED IT! I can’t think of another series that I have enjoyed as much as this one. This is book #4 and as yet, I don’t have a favorite. Still loving them all!
Dr. Peter Whitney began his experiments years ago with orphaned infants or very young girls he had purchased for his use in psychic and physical enhancement. Later, he expanded with a desire to develop a superior soldier, a weapon using these same enhancements. The original team was drawn from the Army, from Special Forces. Later, he used military men from the Navy Seals, the Marines and the Air Force. Thinking they were signing on for psychic enhancement in order to make a better soldier and to save lives, they were tricked, held captive and tortured. Some died.
The survivors call themselves the Ghostwalkers, shadow knights who protect against evil forces using psychic powers, courage and honor. They believe in justice and are both merciful and merciless. They protect those who can’t protect themselves. They walk unseen into enemy camps and collect the necessary info. The Ghostwalkers own the night and work in the shadows. So what we have are powerful, hard, muscular, military men with extraordinary powers who are full of honor, justice and mercy, but who also are dangerous, tough, lethal, merciless and deadly when needed. How could you not love them? I love them all!
We first meet Jack Norton in Mind Games as a member of the Naval Team Two. A hard, dangerous, Ghostwalker with a rock hard, muscled body, and extraordinary talents. He is a man of high intelligence, deep integrity, with a strong sense of justice. His teammates describe him as a man with few words, quiet, lethal, a killing machine. He also is a victim of Dr. Peter Whitney’s experiments, and is both physically and psychically enhanced.
Briony Jenkins is also a victim of the evil Dr. Whitney. Bought as a young child, she was one of the original girls kept in the basement of Whitney’s home while he abused them with his first experiments. Also enhanced physically and psychically, she was adopted out but always and unknowingly under Whitney’s training and guard. Until she meets Jack, she does not understand her powers and her life is always full of pain and fear.
It appears that Dr. Whitney or someone has new goals and experiments for not only the original girls but for some of the original Ghostwalkers. Unknowing to them, Jack Norton and Briony Jenkins are part of his diabolical plan. They are deliberately thrown together and fierce, stark, raw, emotion surges through them until their blood is pounding with heat and hot sexual wanting. And as they fight the enemy and his plans, their passions grow and secrets and intimacies are shared and revealed.
This book begins with high packed action followed by hot sizzling heat and smokin’ hot smexy love! Just their scent alone fills them with deep desire. Imagine that - a scent that can melt you and send you into hot, sexual desire! And as the plot unfolds, new and exciting information is revealed. I became so invested I did not want to stop until finished!
It is very difficult to write a review on this series without spoilers. The well written action packed suspense kept me on my seat, I could not wait to see what happened next! In addition, we get a glimpse into the lives of the past GWs and catch up on their news. Added to that the sensual, smelting hot love scenes and you have a keeper and a favorite! What more can a lover of Romantic Suspense ask for?
I loved this book. I loved the story! I loved the hot, smokin’ love scenes. I just loved everything about it!
If you haven’t read this series or this book, You-Must-Read-Them-Now!! Be prepared – You will not want to put this one down and I sincerely believe you will join the millions of others who are ADDICTED!

We first meet Jack Norton in Mind Games as a member of the Naval Team Two. A hard, dangerous, Ghostwalker with a rock hard, muscled body, and extraordinary talents. He is a man of high intelligence, deep integrity, with a strong sense of justice. His teammates describe him as a man with few words, quiet, lethal, a killing machine. He also is a victim of Dr. Peter Whitney’s experiments, and is both physically and psychically enhanced.
Briony Jenkins is also a victim of the evil Dr. Whitney. Bought as a young child, she was one of the original girls kept in the basement of Whitney’s home while he abused them with his first experiments. Also enhanced physically and psychically, she was adopted out but always and unknowingly under Whitney’s training and guard. Until she meets Jack, she does not understand her powers and her life is always full of pain and fear.
It appears that Dr. Whitney or someone has new goals and experiments for not only the original girls but for some of the original Ghostwalkers. Unknowing to them, Jack Norton and Briony Jenkins are part of his diabolical plan. They are deliberately thrown together and fierce, stark, raw, emotion surges through them until their blood is pounding with heat and hot sexual wanting. And as they fight the enemy and his plans, their passions grow and secrets and intimacies are shared and revealed.
This book begins with high packed action followed by hot sizzling heat and smokin’ hot smexy love! Just their scent alone fills them with deep desire. Imagine that - a scent that can melt you and send you into hot, sexual desire! And as the plot unfolds, new and exciting information is revealed. I became so invested I did not want to stop until finished!
It is very difficult to write a review on this series without spoilers. The well written action packed suspense kept me on my seat, I could not wait to see what happened next! In addition, we get a glimpse into the lives of the past GWs and catch up on their news. Added to that the sensual, smelting hot love scenes and you have a keeper and a favorite! What more can a lover of Romantic Suspense ask for?
I loved this book. I loved the story! I loved the hot, smokin’ love scenes. I just loved everything about it!
If you haven’t read this series or this book, You-Must-Read-Them-Now!! Be prepared – You will not want to put this one down and I sincerely believe you will join the millions of others who are ADDICTED!

4.5 stars. Wow!! Despite some minor bugs, this is the BEST of the GhostWalkers so far, IMO. Great blend of action-suspense and romance-relationship. It didn't have the sappy feel some of Feehan's books develop. In some high-action survival sequences, it felt almost like I was reading Linda Howard. I loved the movement in the plot, the pacing was good, there wasn't so much sex bogging it down (but there are at least three sex scenes and one was totally blush-worthy).
Loved the bond of brotherhood between the twins, Jack and Ken. Lots of fun interactions with Jack, Ken, and Briony -- plenty of camaraderie and bantering. But also heartrending, poignant, and real.
Loved Jack! Especially when he got his hands on the baby book. Yes, folks, Briony and Jack are preggies -- a big part of the second half of the book. You've been warned.
When will Ken get a book?! Will he be paired with Marigold? Loved Ken -- such a good contrast to Jack, yet they are both carrying heavy loads from childhood.
Is Dr. Peter Whitney alive? If so, and if he is running the show as the evil mastermind, then Feehan has pulled a fast one; Whitney's character was depicted quite differently in book 1 -- and so was his reason for farming the girls out for adoption.
PS. I guess the second-in-command is forgettable, at least to Feehan:

In book 2 he is Kaden Bishop (the Greek god acquired an English sir-name).

I think this was my favorite Ghostwalker yet. Jack Norton and his twin brother Ken were stoic soldiers until Briony came into their lives. The changes were really enjoyable. Briony was a strong when she needed to be and she acquiesced when she needed to. She brought a balance to Jack and Ken's relationship, and she helped them see themselves in a new light in terms of comparing themselves to their father.
The writing of this series is very consistent and is well paced. I never felt bored, nor confused with what's going on. The chemistry between Ken and Briony was explosive and it was also tender. I loved Ken turning to books to find answer. It added humor to the story with some dark parts. These super soldiers are scary enough as a concept, but the sinister ones are downright terrifying. Clearly, this story isn't complete even though it didn't end on a real cliffhanger. I will quickly read the next one to find out about the missing twin, as I suspect I already know whose mate she is.

I really liked this book but a few things kept me from really loving it.
What was great
Birony (heroine) was tough and sweet. She was in no way TSTL and I loved her! She was a reluctant badass. I loved that she allowed Jack to be Jack without giving up her own person. She did not argue over stupid stuff. I loved that the author allowed her to keep her own person while still giving in to Jack's OTT dominance and need to dictate every little thing. It was probably my favorite things about this book.
Jack (Hero) was a crazy dictator to everyone around him, namely Briony and his brother Ken. But he was coming from a good place, had a good heart, even though he did not think he did. He was a stone cold killer, but I loved him. I also loved how the author handled the last scene with Luther. If he had given in to Birony's request, he would not have been true to himself. I appreciated that while he grew during the book, he was still Jack.
Ken was just awesome. I will read his book because i loved him and he so deserves his own HEA! He also allowed Jack to be Jack, but did not lose himself in the process. But he was so giving to his brother, it was a special relationship.
The brothers relationship was awesome. Their banter was hilarious and reminded me of an old couple or maybe the Odd Couple!
What was just ok or not so great
Birony's brothers. I did not like how they treated her. Nor how they dropped out of the book never to return or even be mentioned. I know the last half was quick in terms of days, but it still seemed odd
The action scenes were too drawn out. I lost interest because I was reading for the relationship and romance. I love action and suspense, but there was almost too much of it. The scene going up the cliff. Too detailed. I got it after the first description. I did not need it repeated three times.
How the author used the word "enhanced" before everything. He jumped using his enhanced calves. They enhanced ran across the meadow. Her enhanced strength. I got it after a few mentioned but it was everywhere the entire book. It started to make me feel the author was writing for stupid people.
What I disliked
I wanted babies, not just pregnancy. I felt cheated.
The ending. It sucked. It just ended. I have no idea if their story continues in future books, but there was too much left unresolved for me to call it a HEA. It had a big action sequence they are rescued and it was over. I was pissed!!!! I will read Ken's book but if this is how she is going to handle the books I am not sure I am going to get sucked into a ton of books with no ending.

Conspiracy Game is book 4 in Christine Feehan's Ghostwalker Series - books about a group of physically and psychically enhanced soldiers. Twin brothers Jack and Ken Norton are Ghostwalkers. When Ken is captured while on assignment in Africa, Jack leads a team in on a rescue mission. Both men are brutally tortured by their captors, but Jack manages to get Ken to safety before being captured himself. While trying to escape, Jack discovers that an old friend and ex-Navy Seal is in Africa performing with his family in a circus. He sets out to find his friend, and hopefully to get his help in leaving Africa.
Briony Jenkins has always been different from her four brothers. She can't get close to anyone without being swamped by their emotions and becoming physically ill. She is a trapeze artist working in Africa with her brothers when she stumbles upon Jack Norton in the jungle. For the first time in her life, she doesn't feel the crush of emotions from other people. She realizes now that Whitney is after her and her baby, and she must fight her way out of his office and get to Jack. The brothers Norton live on thousands of acres in the wilderness of Montana. Will Birony be able to find Jack? Will they help keep her safe from Whitney? Will they even want her around? The list of people the Ghostwalkers can trust is getting smaller by the minute. Can they even trust each other?
I think this is one of the best books in the series so far, an my favorite for sure! The adventure is intense and riveting, full of action and romance. The story is fast paced and compelling. I read the first 35 pages or so and when I picked it back up again, I could not put it down until I finished. The characters have wonderful flaws that don't magically disappear. They simply learn from them and try to live with them, and are happy and better off because of it. By accepting each other, Jack and Brinoy become stronger as a couple. The emotional journey of the characters was every bit as exciting as the action in the book.
Conspiracy Game is an authentic and well-written addition to the Ghostwalker series - an exciting, fantastic, and totally addictive series that just keeps on getting better and better.

Great, great read. Lot's of action, hot n' wild sex, a H/H who's connection was off the charts, funny and endearing moments, BABIES and of course my HEA that I cannot do without.
The storyline is moving along nicely and has me wondering what the end game is. Is Whitney going to come face to face w/ Lily again? Are all the women going to be found? Questions I can't wait to find out the answers to.
O' and there's TWO OF THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lmao.....twins!! Talk about fantasy (yes, women have twin fantasies too) On to the next book and his TWIN now..(Ken's book).......luvin this series.

Me gustaron ambos personajes, Jack a pesar de ser todo duro era una amor con Briony pero lo que sí que he notado que con cada libro que voy avanzando de esta serie, la trama se pone más complicada y dura, realmente no me imaginé cuando inicié con ella que todo lo que en un principio se nos presenta se vuelve realmente en un juego de conspiraciones

I absolutely loved the fourth installment of the GW series. In the second book of this series, we met Jack Norton and he was described as fierce, lethal, completely devoid of emotion and essentially a killing machine. He's the epitome of an alpha male. I loved how evident throughout this book was the fact that Jack loved and protected the two most important people in his life: Ken and Briony. I loved how different this one felt. It wasn't very scientific at all so it was very easy to understand what was going on. I didn't have a hard time following what was happening in this one.
There was steamy scenes *cough* particularly the one when they are hiding from the helicopters *cough*, there were angsty scenes, action scenes and, such sweet and tender scenes that made me swoon. Jack may be seen as emotionless, he may not be a man of many words and he definitely is gruff, but some of the stuff he said made me melt.
I really liked Briony as a heroine. She's loyal and she didn't fight her feelings for Jack as long as some of the heroines did in the previous books. I also loved the relationship she developed with Jack's twin brother. It was so endearing how they were almost like brother and sister which was evident in the way they teased each other.
I can't wait for Ken's story next up. I so badly want to get inside his head. I'm so excited he is going to be paired up with Mari and I'm so looking forward to getting to know the both of them.

Oh Jack...all dark and twisty and badass. Love it. Of course you're going to meet your pairing while escaping from an African warlord and while she's touring with her circus family. Things are ramping up with Whitney's attempts to pair his old female test subjects with the men he modified later. He's set Briony and Jack on a collision course he/his people are determined to see that Briony ends up pregnant. They want the child of any union that happens between the two.
Ok I did really enjoy this one. I loved how Jack was determined to do the right thing (or at least the thing he thinks is right) and leave Briony to find someone who can be good for her. Of course Whitney's people trying to capture her after finding out she's pregnant sends her running for the one safe space in the storm. No one gets by Jack. He's a force of nature and one badass soldier.

This is my all time favourite Ghostwalker book. I read this book so often, it’s a bit sad. But it really is one of my all time favourite books! I just love the story between Jack and Briony and their relationship. It’s so well written and thought out. It flows along with the rest of the series and can work as a standalone story.
Jack is part of the Ghostwalker team who has been genetically enhanced to be a better solider he’s gone into the Congo jungle to save his twin brother Ken who has been captured and tortured. But in saving Ken, Jack himself is captured and tortured. He manages to escape and runs into the path of Briony who he tries to protect from the rebels after him but mostly from himself. I enjoyed the way the story unfolded and how Whitney had been trying to get Jack and Briony together for quite some time.

Book #4 in GhostWalker series and when Jack Norton meets Briony things get hot fast. Both have similar powers. Nice book. Lots of action, dash of suspense with well developed characters that turn from horrible to really nice by the end of the book.

What a surprise this one was. After a good start to the series, and then a couple of back steps, I completely immersed myself into this book. There is just the right amount tension, action and suspense. We do not really get to see any of the gang that we have come to know in the previous books - Lily and Ryland and the gang - but we are thrown into a different world with the Norton twins (Jack and Ken) and we get to meet Briony, an orphan adopted out to a circus family with 4 older brother who perform high wire acts.
Without going into spoilers, I will say that it is becoming apparent the Peter Whitney is more evil than we ever thought possible. The level of his psychopathy is just chilling and we do not even know the half of it yet.
One of my favorite parts of this was getting to see the relationship between Jack and Ken. They are twins who have been able to telepathically communicate since toddlerhood and they are as close as possible. Neither one of them feels they are deserving due to an awful father growing up and Briony is just what they needed. I loved this one because there is really no drama between the couple. No - "do I want him or don't I?" that becomes cumbersome at times.
In this book the drama is all about the good guys versus the bad guys. And intense it is. I do not think that my breathing was steady for the last half of the book. My stomach was in knots, but at the same time, I trusted in Jack and Ken to be able to get them out of any mess.
Even though this book has a complete arc, the realization becomes clear that there are still lots of things to be discovered. The more we find out, the more we realize that the scope of Whitney's organization is much more diabolical and so much bigger than anyone thought possible. For him to have planned all of this, even to have planned his "death" through the telepathic communication with Lily just goes to show how little true feeling he must have. Regardless, I'm going to take a breath before continuing on, but to me - this is definitely the best book of this series so far.

This time around our heroine, Briony is an acrobat and she also swings back and forth between 'tough-as-nails' and 'silly broad' now that part was annoying. The brothers Jack & Ken were fine but to be honest I've read this 'brother thing' before. It's not bad it's just not new but I did like them a lot. The bad guys were evil and the chase was intense. Ken's story now please.
