As the Jack-of-All-Wicked-Trades for a secretive French military intelligence agency, 24-year-old Lieutenant Kingsley Boissonneault has done it all—spied, lied, and killed under orders. But his latest assignment is quite out of the ordinary. His commanding officer's nephew has disappeared inside a sex cult, and Kingsley has been tasked with bringing him home to safety.

The cult’s holy book is "Story of O," the infamous French novel of extreme sado-masochism. Their château is a looking-glass world where women reign and men are their willing slaves. Or are they willing? It’s Kingsley’s mission to find out.

Once inside the château, however, Kingsley quickly falls under the erotic spell cast by the enigmatic Madame, a woman of wisdom, power, and beauty. She offers Kingsley the one thing he’s always wanted. But the price? Giving up forever the only person he’s ever loved.

Genre: Erotic Thriller
Type: Book 9 of The Original Sinners series
POV: Third Person
Rating:

Kingsley Boissonneault liked living on the edge. As an operative with a French military secret agency, he endured many aspects of the job. But his latest assignment was nothing like the others. Infiltrating a sex cult might sound like a dream job for him, if only he didn't have to face his greatest fear.

“Were all these dildos made in America?” he asked.
“I don’t know. Why?”
Kingsley held one up, tip facing her. “No foreskin.”

When it comes to Kingsley, I know I'm going to be entertained. He has always been one of my favorite characters in the series. He's confident and adorably cocky, and in this book we also get to see his vulnerable side. This is the time when he was still trying to find a footing and we get to follow his journey of pleasure and pain.

“Real sadism is an art form. I’m an art lover, and you, right now, you’re the Louvre. Tell me more about how he hurt you and let me see your face while you do.”

Madame is a new character that I love. Her brand of sadism was completely different than Soren, but not less painful. I admire her ways of putting Kingsley through his paces. I certainly wouldn't mind being an occupant of her chateau haha!

The kiss isn’t kind, isn’t erotic, isn’t sensual, isn’t sweet. It’s punitive. It hurts. Kingsley loves how much it hurts. His mouth is invaded, taken over, conquered. Violated.

I really love the part with Madame and Kingsley. She played a significant role in his life and helped shape him to be the person he ended up in the series. And I will always love Soren. However in this book I feel like I wanted to know more – something that I am not already privy of when it comes to their relationship.

The Chateau is a story of recognizing one's true self. It gives a glimpse of Kingsley's psyche during a lesser known period of his colorful life and would satisfy the insatiable needs of The Original Sinners fans.

At 24 years old, Kingsley Boissonneault is a Lieutenant in a French military agency. Upon being given a new assignment to infiltrate what appears to be a kinky cult, Kingsley sets course to complete his mission. However, he doesn’t expect his personal life to intersect with work, and as a result, he learns more than he could have hoped.

“I can tell from how patiently you wait. Only those who’ve served know how to be humble.”

With Kingsley, there is never a dull moment and though he approaches this assignment with his usual vigor and lustful nature, he learns that his adversary is quite talented in her sadistic practices. While performing the tasks required of him, Kingsley returns to a past where he once surrendered to Søren. Quickly realizing Madame doesn’t have any limits, King plays her game because to play is to win.

“You see, it’s not what I can do to you. It’s what you’ll allow me to do to you. If your willingness to suffer is infinite, then my capacity to hurt you is bottomless.”

As this plot takes the reader down a certain path, it becomes clear that not all is what it seems. Passing each test, Kingsley advances until the final level becomes a truth that he’s always known. Showing his vulnerability, Madame is relentless in her pursuit causing my heart to break for King.

“Not all problems are meant to be solved,” she said. “Some are meant to be endured.”

Madame is an interesting character who might seem like another well-known Original Sinner sadist, but she is quite different in her methods. With her motivations, Madame is a force to be revered and yet feared. While Kingsley is looking for answers, Madame is able to turn his world on its axis.

Throughout, Kingsley has his usual charming, sexy moments but grasping the level of his loneliness during this time underscores his connection to Søren and his need to submit. With his time at The Chateau, Madame proves to be a crucial element in King’s future.

The Chateau is an erotic and thrilling story that offers introspection and shows the depth these characters will take to obtain answers. Plus, getting more of Kingsley is always a good thing, as he never disappoints.

So, so good! Listened to the audiobook version this time around and I absolutely loved all the delicious accents. Story and performance are perfection!

My favorite quote:
“Not all problems are meant to be solved,” she said. “Some are meant to be endured. All too often we learn more from living with the question than we ever would from the answer.”

OMG...so good! So, so good!! The Chateau is the ninth installment in Tiffany Reisz's deliciously complex BDSM/erotica series titled: Original Sinners. It is a prequel of sorts that centers on fan-favorite: Kingsley at the young age of twenty-four years old. In my opinion, readers may benefit most from reading The Chateau in series order (along with Christmas novella: The Scent of Winter...sigh), but stay tuned for reading order recommendations from Ms. Reisz herself. The recommended series order at present is:
The Red Years: 1) The Siren 2) The Angel 3) The Prince 4) The Mistress
The White Years: 5) The Saint 6) The King 7) The Virgin 8) The Queen

The Chateau is an erotic thriller that offers twists, surprising revelations, agonizing choices, exhalations of painful satisfaction, breathtaking perspectives on the beauty of a BDSM relationship, and Ms. Reisz's personal love note/sequel to Story of O. In an interview with Ms. Reisz (located in the ARC edition), she describes The Chateau as "James Bond with blow jobs, BDSM, and an angst-ridden bisexual hero still in love with his ex-boyfriend." ...and yes, that about sums it up.

Tastefully fun, engaging, erotic, beautiful, palpable, and a total mindf*ck, Tiffany Reisz's The Chateau will take you captive and you will never want to be let go.

Thank you to the following for permitting me access to an advance reader's copy (ARC) of The Chateau. This generosity did not impact my honesty when rating/reviewing.

5 “Kingsley and Søren Forever” Stars

I’m gonna be truthful......I’m a TOS LOVER. I first read The Siren and it was Love At First Sight. I fell in love with the characters and they embedded themselves in my heart. Not traditional by any means but fully alive and mesmerizing by the writing of Tiffany Reisz.

The Chateau is about “Kingsley Théophile Boissonneault, age twenty-four- AKA Kingsley Edge. This is set years after Kingsley leaves American and leaves Soren. Kingsley lives a very fascinating life in the Legions. He does it all and when he has an interesting assignment in what appears to be a sex cult, Kingsley is the man for the job. And when Kingsley meets the owner of the Chateau, Madame is nothing as he expects. His days at the Chateau are kinky and enjoyable yet reflective and longing. It is a place where women rule and men submit. A role reversal of the The Story of O.

This is a secret part of Kingsley’s life until Søren asks for a secret that he has never told anyone. To discover more of Kingsley is a gift. His life before Søren, his life with Søren, his life after Søren, and eventually his life with Søren again, all make the man. Every action in his life revolves around Søren consciously and subconsciously. This secret, this time in The Chateau still revolves around Søren. While the book is about Kingsley, it is still very much about the man who stole his heart so many years ago too.

While this can be read as a stand-alone, I truly believe that having read all the other books heightened my enjoyment. The Original Sinners Series is an absolutely favorite of mine and I will always read anything involving anyone of these Sinners.

Eeeep. Finally back with our darlings. ♥

Well, it's mostly only darling King, but the Priest is there too - all through the book - mostly in Kingsley's dreams and memories!

And that's basically what is happening. King is happy being at that sex 'cult' place - it's kinda his sexiest dream come true. But in his nightly dreams and nightmares he tries to come to grips with his love/hate relationship with Søren.

And while dealing with his Søren problems, Kingsley is having an amazing and a very sexy time at this place. No idea why his boss is so worried about his nephew. Or is there something happening here that Kingsley hasn't discovered yet??? ☺

Amazing book! No idea how Tiffany manages to write every single Sinners book just SO perfectly perfect. So heartbreakingly amazing that we fall in love with those guys all over again - every single time!?

I just LOVED seeing Kingsley & Søren again. Even though the Priest was never really here.☺

It was exciting and mega erotic and moving and sad and my heart broke a little for our young King. Ugh. That poor guy. This unbelievably huge love he has for that winter-smelling blondie....

I just adore all of this!

I enjoyed reading this story so much and I strongly suggest that Tiffany should write a Sinners book every other month for the rest of eternity!!!! ☺ Thank You!

Oh and if you're new to the #OriginalSinners, you should start with book #1! You need to read every single word ever written about The Priest and his King and Queen!!! ASAP!

The story I've been waiting for and didn't even know it! I did not read the blurb; all I did was see Ms. Reisz name so I picked this book up for a read. I am so glad I did. This is story is hard to review because I am still reeling from the aftereffects. I am boneless as my senses are overwhelmed and my emotions on overload. This is a story focused on Kingsley. I have always adored this Frenchman switch. Whilst this could be read as a standalone, reading the Original Sinner series would help explain why this story is so cruelly beautiful.

The Kingsley we know from the Original Sinner series is a mature man with great wealth, extensive spy network and erotic mastery. In The Chateau, it is when he is young, twenty four to be exact. This is his years whilst he worked for a covert French spy agency. Seeing this Kingsley makes me emotional because he is in such torment. He wrestles with his demons of wanting someone he does not think really wants him - sadistic Soren. For a book which Soren does not appear until the end, he is a constant monster in the shadow, just waiting to leap in a moment of Kingsley's weakness.

When it comes to complicated relationship and sadistic mind games, Ms. Reisz excels at writing them. This cathartic journey she forces Kingsley to make is brutal. As an unofficial assignment, Kingsley needs to retrieve a wayward nephew of his boss, from the clutches of an evil woman running a sex cult. This woman apparently lures high powered men into her web and they disappear for weeks. IF and when they return to their families, they are in a dazed stupor. Kingsley sees no reason to take this job until he learns the Chateau is run by Madame who is a Domme. Kingsley's need to serve again is so strong, he can not resist her siren call. Like Alice in the Looking Glass, he falls down the rabbit hole and ends up in a world where everything is different and yet, better.

What I loved most about this story is the psychological depths Ms. Reisz plunges her characters through. She hits all the senses whilst seducing the reader's mind. My mind is actively engaged and whilst her erotic scenes arouses, it also pains me as I witness and vicariously live through Kingsley's pain. What he finds at the Chateau is a long overdue answer he's needed validated by an outside observer. When his epiphany occurs, it shatters him completely. I'm moved beyond tears. Not just because of Kingsley's loss. But because I too have achieved an understanding I couldn't fully grasp as a switch. Madame translates the physical love language Soren spoke to Kingsley that he misinterpreted. She can do so because she is a master sadist who understands another dominant. This perspective is insightful and makes Kingsley's anguish magnify. Just when Madame thinks she has converted another discipline, she realizes Kingsley's devotion and worship of Soren is unparalleled. And it is a hard choice. Madame's "wonderland" is fantastic. Still, bypassing the slight chance of being with Soren is unfathomable.

The ending confrontation occurred as I anticipated because I had an inkling early on about Madame's unspoken husband. That relationship is dysfunctional in an Ayn Rand "The Fountainhead" way. Remember, every story has two sides and sometimes there are only losers. If Ms. Reisz ever wrote a story about Madame and her husband, it may be one I need to pass up. I am not sure I can handle the sheer cruelty and devastating mind games. I find my tolerance to bittersweet to bitter endings to be high, but Ms. Reisz dances just on that edge where I am not able to cope. This erotica tale is highly recommended to kinky readers who want to experience love's torment.

4,5 very surprising stars knowing that I don't relish in erotic novels!

The best way to sum it up is by using this quote from Tiffany’s interview:
“This book was much easier to write than The Lucky Ones. With Kingsley, all you have to do is conjure him up and drop him into a weird situation and you’ll have fun as a reader and a writer. The pitch was, “Kingsley goes on an erotic adventure inside a femme-domme cult.” The story pretty much wrote itself. It’s James Bond with blow jobs, BDSM, and an angst-ridden bisexual hero still in love with his ex-boyfriend.”

I am a total newbie to the Original Sinners world. I may have begun inadvertently with the beginning as this story is about young Kingsley. Pre-Sinners Kingsley.

I had “only” read The Bourbon Thief and The Lucky Ones by Tiffany Reisz so far. I have been smitten by these books and honestly they are more my cup of tea than erotic. So why did I read it you say? Because I had no idea what it was about but it was recommended by my friend Angy. And I trust Angy. With my life. So I went in totally blind. I hadn’t read the blurb mind you!

Verdict: even if The Chateau is an erotic book hence not my favorite genre I took a real pleasure reading it. Yes, yes I know pleasure is the point in erotic don't make me regret using this word please!

I blame Tiffany's writing and Kingsley's personality to make me enjoy that story much more than I usually do!

Tiffany has an effortless writing. All is easy, flows at the right pace and use sophisticated terms like exquisite without being pompous.

Tiffany has also a knack in this story to add dry humor and sarcasm. I loved the banter between Kingsley and Bernie. Bernie seemed so innocent and naïve it made me laugh and wonder how he coul have been enrolled in a secret organization. Until I reached the end that is because Bernie is not who you think he is.

Now Kingsley ....is my friend's Angy's favorite book boyfriend and I can understand his appeal.
Kingsley in this novel is boyish, rakish, exquisitely handsome (see I can use big words in my reviews too), playful yet deadly. He should come with a warning as no hot-blooded woman will be able to resist him!
Kingsley is sent by his superiors on an even more unofficial than usual mission. Find his boss’s nephew who has been indoctrinated by a sex cult and bring him back to his family.
What begins as an enter and extract mission will turn into a psychological thriller.

To enter Kingsley will have first to meet Madame’s expectations and tricky tests.
“Many men have tried to find me,” she said. “They never find me.” “I don’t want to find you,” Kingsley said. “Tell me who you want to find,” she said. Kingsley closed his eyes tight and returned to his dream. “I want to find me,” he said at last.

Kingsley will discover many things about who he is in The Chateau and it will rather be a “personal journey” story than a spy book.

Madame is the Chateau’s commander and she can be scary even wearing Gucci! When I read:
“Workers in ancient Rome were paid with salt. It’s where we get the word ‘salary.’ In my home, salt is still the official currency. Blood. Tears. Sweat. Semen. Choose one. That’s how you’ll pay me for taking you in.”

I was all “Holy Molly! They don’t play around in this Chateau!”

By the last chapter written in the present time I could not avoid thinking that Kingsley had a very weird life and unusual family! But this is already known by all Original Sinners fans.

To conclude I'd like to say that The Chateau opened my eyes on Sadists world or rather the twisted way they have to show their affection.
Madame says it all:
“He tied you up to tell you he never wanted you to leave him. He bit you because you were the food to his soul. He struck you to mark you as his possession, as a valuable he would want returned to him if lost or stolen. That’s why you miss it, Kingsley. That’s why you miss the pain. Because every time he hurt you, he was trying to tell you in the only way he could how much he loved you.”

It was highly enlightening about BDSM practices.

Recommend it? Yes if you are an Original Sinner's fan or if you like very exquisitely written erotic books.

Out of the blue: when I was looking for pictures with “erotic” or “BDSM” etc. it was nearly 99% pictures with women. Why is that? MM literature is exploding but it seems there is still a long way to go to have society follow with this idea. Can’t picture with men or two men be erotic????

Have you ever been surprised by a book that you thought you wouldn't like?
Thanks for reading!

The impossible happened while reading The Chateau; I fell deeper in love with outrageously witty Kingsley Boissonneault. This time, a younger version of the kinky, cunning and overly sexy character I've come to adore. Just when I thought I knew everything about this charmer, Tiffany Reisz proved me wrong by adding another dimension to his multi-faceted persona. We finally see a hint of the gentler side to this ruthless, perpetually whorish man. I'm addicted to all the Original Sinners, always greedy for more when it comes to this series, and having a glimpse into King's time while in La Légion was genius. Masterfully written with a plot filled with intrigue, twists, and turns, Reisz gifted fans of the OS a refreshing new perspective in this ninth installment.

Journeying through the period separated from his "monster," beloved Søren, we see a 24-year-old Kingsley as an officer for La Légion. His highly specialized skills for the French Agency are diverse, but his latest assignment is undoubtedly intriguing. The Colonel entrusts King to rescue his nephew, Leon, from the claws of The Madame ~ the mysterious and elusive head of a sex cult where men are (supposedly) subjugated to serve women in every way ~ hidden a chateau. His task is to infiltrate and bring Leon home, but Kingsley discovers there is more to this rescue mission. As it turns out, this sex club of sorts is the perfect place for the lewd lieutenant.

Throughout this read, there was one character who fascinated me more so than my dear Kingsley, and that was Madame. She, very much like Søren, was a sadist who consistently played mind games. She probed King for personal information, exposed his emotional pain like a raw nerve, and used that weakness against him. For Kingsley, Madame helped put his life, relationship struggles and dealing with Søren's absence in perspective.

Another fantastic novel crafted by the brilliant Ms. Reisz that I highly recommend. Taboo reads are often out of my reading comfort zone. However, Reisz's unique and exquisite writing style captivates me every time. Her words effortlessly flow to spin magnificent and compelling tales.

I want you.
I need you.
Use me. Hurt me. Destroy me because you’re the one who created me. Kill me because you’re my only reason for living.
Find me because I’m lost without you.

I regret a little bit that I didn't read this sooner, when I was still completly immersed in Original Sinners' world, because I admit that I had some trouble recalling every detail and charachter. However, it's a novella about Kingsley, so of course, I liked it no matter what. Kingsley being his unapologetically French self is always a delight to read afterall.

I was mostly invested in his dreams about Søren, and basically everything to do with that blond monster 😄 yes, other sex and kink was good but I've been reading erotica for so long, I've seen it all, now I need emotional connection in my porn 😆 which means, I was more interested in Madame breaking Kingsley into confessing his feelings for Søren. It reminded me a little about Magdalena doing the same for Søren - these two poor bastards are both really so stuborn, they need a couple of sadistic ladies to force them into taking a look at their feelings.

“She offered you a home and a family, children, comfort, safety, lust, pain, and love. And you chose to wait for me to find you instead.”
“I wasn’t wrong. You did find me. Eventually. And I have two beautiful children. I have a home. I have a family. I have comfort, safety, love and lust. And you for pain.”

This book absolutely can't be read as a standalone. You need to read at least the original 8 books first and I'd also recommend The Scent of Winter for more insight into their brutal first time and maybe Poinsettia as well to experience Søren pinning for Kingsley too.

“You want to know?” Søren said.
“I’ve wanted to know all my life,” Kingsley confessed.
“The answer is…” Søren leaned in and put his mouth to Kingsley’s ear. Kingsley caught his breath and held it tight. He had truly wondered about that night for thirty-three years.
“Yes?” Kingsley said.
“The answer is…” Søren said again, and grabbed Kingsley by the back of the neck and pulled his mouth to his for a long, hard, passionate kiss.
Ah. Well. So be it.
Between the kiss and the answer, he would always pick the kiss.

When Lt. Kingsley was assigned to do "unofficial" job to investigate the disappearance of Leon, nephew of his commander, who believed he is being held against his will by a sex cult. Accepting the job is easy but getting inside the so-called sex cult, Kingsley must go through some test. Patiently Kingsley was able to get in. And after spending a time there and meeting the "Madame" of the house. He learned something more about himself than he bargained for. A decision must be made will Kingsley choose the right one?

The Chateau is another masterpiece by this author. Words cannot justify how good she writes every dialogue in this book. It's witty, sexy, and definitely hot. The plot, those unexpected twist towards the end just amazing how she can play mind games with her readers.

And characters that are unforgettable. Kingsley, I already like him from the previous book I read of The Original Sinners, but in this book, I FLOVE him. Madame is certainly worth meeting and I cannot wait to see if this author will write more about her. I will certainly be looking forward to that if she does. Secondary characters are also endearing like Polly, Collette, Bernie and that tick, Georges.

This is standalone, so if you haven't read a book by this author this is a must-read. Ms. Reisz works can be addicting so you have been warned. Highly recommended!

For an Original Sinners novel, The Chateau is an unusual one. For a Kingsley Edge story, it's very unusual, I think. It's so perky, funny, and happy. So pink, like Picture Perfect Cowboy. Those are not adjectives I'd normally use for this series. Definitely not this character. It's hard to imagine the King of the Underground was ever like this. Apparently, even he had a few pink days in his past, while visiting a cult no less, in the midst of his reckless, self-destructive ones.

KINGSLEY!!!

I had to pinch myself when I saw Tiffany Reisz was writing another novel about Kingsley — the news was just too good to be true! Kingsley Théophile Boissonneault was and remains my favorite character in The Original Sinners series. I feel like I should write the author a thank-you note for writing The Chateau, and not only for writing it, but for making it available on NetGalley this month, too. This book could not have come at a better time. When I had hardly any desire for reading, when I only kept on starting books and leaving them, and when I had a terrible cold, King's book was just what the doctor ordered.

The author, as I've learned long ago from her many erotic stories, has the best wicked imagination. Especially when it comes to Kingsley, although I admit I'm extremely biased when it comes to this particular character. Truth be told, Ms. Reisz could have written a whole novel about King reading the newspaper, and I would've found it interesting. The Chateau isn't about that; it is the story of Kingsley's time in a sex cult. It was the beginning of 1989. I was about a month away from being born, and Kingsley was sent on a mission to a sex cult, because of course he was. If anyone would be sent on a mission to a sex cult, it would be Kingsley Edge. But the story didn't start with that mission. It started with him.

The most compelling part of The Original Sinners series to me was the relationship between Kingsley and Søren. You can't speak about Kingsley without mentioning Søren. So, of course, The Chateau started with Søren. Kingsley was 24, living in Paris, doing unofficial official work for the French military, and years after parting ways with Søren, his dreams were still haunted by that blond monster who smelled like winter. Then he got a new assignment: rescue the nephew of his commanding officer from a sex cult. In that cult men served women. For Kingsley, who hadn't served since Søren, it wasn't just another assignment, but also an opportunity to satisfy the submissive part of himself.

The 24-year-old submissive Kingsley was just so freaking beautiful. I was quite taken with him. Luckily, lots and lots of pages were dedicated to the erotic games the women in the château played with willing Kingsley. The most intense game was the one Madame played. Madame, the owner of the château, was quite an intriguing character with the air of mystery around her and with extensive knowledge of Kingsley's life. While the other women Kingsley met in the château played pleasurable games, Madame, a sadist, played a cruel one. However, it did answer questions that had plagued Kingsley about himself and Søren. Søren, again. Always Søren.

As was the case with, I believe, all of the books by T. Reisz I've read, the story in The Chateau took some unexpected turns. Kingsley assignment turned out to be more complicated than saving his superior's nephew from Madame's home. The château and Madame hid big secrets for Kingsley to uncover. I guessed one twist, at least. What was interesting was how Kingsley's observations about that place and its owner reflected in the underground kingdom he built and ruled some years from then. That was a nice touch.

In the end, like in the beginning, there was Søren.
Kingsley leaned forward, wanting to kiss Søren, and it seemed —for once— Søren would let him. At the last second, however, Søren brought his hand up and clapped it over Kingsley’s mouth.
“If you ever try to kiss me again without permission,” Søren said calmly, “I’ll eat your heart like an apple and throw the core on the ground and let the worms have the rest.”

The Chateau is a book all Kingsley fans, all Søren fans, and really all Original Sinners fans should read.

Mon Dieu……this book left me breathless!

description

I had my doubts before but I am confident that Ms. Reisz is definitely from a different planet. I don’t think it’s humanly possible to create a dimension full of complicated yet perfect characters that you keep falling in love over and over again, falling so HARD it practically hurts to live without them. The Original Sinners has ALWAYS been special to me, they’ve attained such heights that no human can outwrite them except if you are Tiffany Reisz.

The Chateau was nothing short of spectacular, it was erotic, poetic, riveting, serene, yet exquisitely sadistic. This book gave me much-needed insight into unexplored years of Kingsley’s life when he was young and still in love with the blonde monster he can’t seem to forget.

description

If you are a fan of this series, the blurb is enough to seal the deal. So, I’ll be vague about the story. It’s been seven years since Kingsley last saw Søren, yet his every touch, his feel still haunts him. As a Lieutenant working for French secret military agency King’s current assignment is to retrieve the commanding officer’s nephew from a sex cult practicing sado-masochism from an unknown location in Paris. What follows once King is inside the château run by the dominatrix Madame is truly spellbinding. Madame, an enigmatic and a powerful character in this book, she takes sadism to a whole different level. Kingsley, as we know him today, is because of her. The very foundation of him and his kingdom was built in The Chateau.

The Chateau details the suffering and conflict Kingsley faces during his separation from Søren. Though this book is all about King, Søren’s presence was overwhelming in every chapter, in King’s every thought. This book was a truly a tribute to Kingsley’s unconditional love to Søren. And that’s why I loved it so much. Kingsley is not who is without Søren, the blonde monster who created him. This goes to show how much Tiffany is true to her characters. She captured the essence and beauty of submission with great clarity that one has to shed all the doubts about this being a dark lifestyle. If I adored her before now I worship the ground she walks on.

Don't disappoint our mistress people, READ THIS BOOK!

If Tiffany Reisz does nothing else for the rest of her writing days but write subsequent novels from The Original Sinners series, I’d be more than happy. I’d be ecstatic! My love for this series is all a bit odd for me- I’m a reader that tends to get bored with extended series, of rolling back again and again with the same characters. But not with this series...not with this author. Each book she writes never feels forced or like she sat down and said, “How can I milk this successful series for a little more?” Each book is fresh, not feeling forced but often just a snippet of time in their lives but she can construct a story about it that is never dull or lagging in any way.

In The Chateau, we get more of my two favorite characters, Soren and Kingsley. They’re alone at their winter cabin in the woods when Soren asks Kingsley one question...

”Tell me a secret you’ve never told anyone before.”

And so Kingsley’s secret is told in his words. A secret about a chateau. A secret about a Madame. A secret about sadism, masochism and games. Truths...and lies.

The chateau is a place that has laws that draw from the sadomasochistic book The Story of O, where women dominate men and serve their every need. It will capture you from that first question asked by our favorite sadist priest to his long-time lover. I will forever eat up any chance to read of Kingsley’s quirky humor, switching ways and never-ending love story with Soren.

Don’t ever stop writing about this crew. Your readers will never tire, I promise you, Mistress Tiffany!

Holy shit. Eaaaaasily the best erotic novel I’ve read.

I'm always a sucker for bi main characters, and extra so if the MC is a man. This was so well-written, had truly excellent pacing, managed to be super sexy and plot-driven, and every single character leapt off the page.

Read it!

4.5 KINGSLEY STARS!

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

The Chateau is a sensual, erotic, mysterious novel that will screw with your mind! The setting alone was magnificent; Paris, France in 1989 and Tiffany Reisz's writing brought it to life even more.

Kingsley Boissonneault is hired to look for the Colonel's nephew who is believed to have been kidnapped and forced into a sex cult. Kingsley knowing the 'Story of O' didn't hesitate. Kingsley becomes entangled in the Madame's web. He sees her for the cruel sadist that she is. She draws you into her spell and not long after being involved with her you forget your own name and crave the lust. Kingsley soon discovers the truth and everything comes to light. One thing was certain Kingsley never forgot about his first lover, Marcus Stearns, also known as Søren. I truly loved Kingsley!! His sense of humour throughout the novel added a lighter tone to a novel that is filled with twists and turns.

Though this isn't my first rodeo with Tiffany Reisz, I went into The Chateau completely blind as I have yet to read the Original Sinners series. And boy, oh boy was this book a trickster! So much so that you become a part of the game and the lies. It's messed up and crazy, but at the same time you love it and wouldn't have it any other way! Tiffany, I would say is a mistress of the BDSM writing community. She writes sexy and with pure elegance! Her writing and this whole entire book has just made me so freaking excited to read the first book in the series!

So don't yell at me but... I have never read The Original Sins series... I know... I know... (hang my head in shame)

But what I do know now that I have read The Chateau is that I have to figure out a way to go back and read that series because The Chateau left me wanting more.

I love romance and suspense and I don't read a ton of erotic or BDSM but this book was HOLY HELL HOT! *fans self*

The story behind the actual Chateau was interesting... the characters intriguing... and every once in a while who doesn't want to read that gender role reversal where the man is the submissive learning and finding himself... just WOW!

And while this is a complete story, I was left wanting to know more about this world, more about Kingsley Edge and all the captivating characters in this story... do we find out more in The Original Sinners series? Well, I am definitely looking forward to diving in to find out!!

Fast paced, thrilling and exciting, I couldn't put this book down!!

Wellllll this sucks.

There are a plethora of 5 star reviews for this, so grain of salt. I actually physically feel pained that I didn't LOVE a book wherein King is the focus but I didn't.

I was sort of squinting at it since I'm fairly certain King has said before that he's only ever submitted to Søren and Nora but since I like sub King I went forth with gusto, shirking my doubts like a bad habit. Except it's not really that kinky. There is a pegging scene and the final scene is heavy with #TeamPain goodness but it was nowhere near as kinky as I'd anticipated. That coupled with the fact that I felt zero connection between Madame and King made The Chateau a lackluster read.

We travel back to 1989 Paris where King is in la Légion. He's tasked to infiltrate a "sex cult" eerily akin to what's described in Story of O only men serve the women. The colonel's nephew has purportedly been brainwashed into said sex cult and is in dire need of extraction. Kingsley to the rescue!!!!!

If you're laughing you should be because the notion of sending Kingsley into a sex cult to do anything other than fuck the legs off everyone in there is preposterous. This is King we're talking about here. You can seat him at a buffet and tell him not to feast.

Feast he does only... it didn't do much for me. I didn't find any of it all that titillating. Usually with a Reisz read I feel emotion in her words. I didn't here. The snarky and biting dialogue that I've come to think of synonymous with Reisz' writes were absent as well.

I think I'll always love and hate the bittersweetness of Søren and King's relationship but this is ground that's been trod over and over again and I think for me the more it's trod the less powerful it becomes.

So, as much as it pains me to do so I'm going with 2 stars. My opinions are my own and YMMV.

Use me. Hurt me. Destroy me because you’re the one who created me. Kill me because you’re my only reason for living.
Find me because I’m lost without you.”

“Not all problems are meant to be solved. Some are meant to be endured. All too often we learn more from living with the question than we ever would from the answer.”
- Madame

“A perfect pair then. A true sadist with a true masochist. Perfect and rare.”
- Madame

“He tied you up to tell you he never wanted you to leave him. He bit you because you were the food to his soul. He struck you to mark you as his possession, as a valuable he would want returned to him if lost or stolen. That’s why you miss it, Kingsley. That’s why you miss the pain. Because every time he hurt you, he was trying to tell you in the only way he could how much he loved you.”

one of the rare cases that should’ve been 100 pages longer.

five days after i finished reading this i’m still here thinking about it, wishing that it had given me more.

the story was gripping, fascinating, entertaining; the characters were fresh and likable and fun. the romance had that kind of superior yearning quality to it that i feel should be present in literally any romance ever, but its actual time on-page was not nearly rewarding or satisfying enough.

i liked the story having to do with the chateau, but it ultimately took up too much time and there i was at the 90% mark wondering how we weren’t done with it yet.

tiffany reisz seems like a capable and talented author; the way she writes characters and dialogue is exceptional, especially for the romance genre, and i look forward to reading more of her work.

maybe my issue is that i haven’t read the other books in this series, and in that case, i hope they complete the excellence of this book, which it sadly failed to do on its own time.

The Chateau was wickedly delicious and deliciously wicked. I loved this glimpse into Kingsley's past, how he was already both a giver and a receiver of pain..

Review - (un)Conventional Bookviews
Story:
Reisz always mesmerizes me with her storytelling, and I was immediately immersed in The Chateau with Kingsley. In this story, I got to know Kingsley better, and I loved seeing him as a young man. How he lived with the aftermath of his relationship with Søren. What he actually did for the hidden branch of the French government. And how he got entangled with a community where women were boss.

In the Chateau, Kingsley wasn't only a government agent, he was also a player. And he played rather well if the girl he woke up with the first morning was any indication. However, he soon had a visit to tell him he was needed for work. Even if he was still on sick leave. Only, this mission was rather different than the other missions he had in the past. He had to find a mysterious woman in order to extract a young man from her sex sect. That's all he knew before he went to a phone booth to call her.

The Chateau itself was rather magnificent, and really a place where I could see Kingsley staying. He got a little bit of everything he needed there - a place to belong, pain, pleasure, and intrigue. However, his loyalties were not fully with the Madam, and so he needed to do his job elsewhere. In between the current events of the story, Kingsley has some very vivid dreams. Dreams of a white-blond boy. In the woods. And he still doesn't know where that boy is in real life.

I think what happened in The Chateau participated in making Kingsley the man he is in all the Original Sinners books - a little stand-offish, very confident, and always there for both Søren and Nora. It was a pleasure to see his character development, and I loved the overall feel of the story.
Characters:
Young Kingsley was rather cocky, but he had reason to be.

The Madam was so mysterious and intriguing, and I loved seeing how she had made her Chateau a safe haven for women, where men were the maids and took orders from the women.

The side characters were well fleshed out, even those who were only mentioned once or twice felt very real to me.
Writing style :
The Chateau is written in third person point of view, past tense, and from Kingsley's perspective. Between the dreams and King's real life at the time, I couldn't put the book down from start to finish.
Feels :
Ms. Reisz always brings out all the feels! I felt Kingsley's torment, and I felt his joy. I felt his happiness and fears, his hopes and his despair. Masterfully done, this book made me want to re-read the whole Original Sinners series.

Fave Quotes - (un)Conventional Bookviews

Even though it is a dream, and no one has spoken but him, Kingsley knows he is supposed to sit and stay and play the game. It's the rules. If he doesn't play, he'll wake up, and the last thing he wants is to wake up now, to wake up ever.

It had been a long time since Kingsley had laughed so freely with a girl. Polly rolled onto her back in a giggling fit, swept up in the silliness like a child. God, what a beautiful, bizarre looking-glass world this château was.

So, full disclosure, I have not read a single one of the million The Original Sinners novellas, full lengths, freebies, etc. So why did I request this, you ask? Because NG didn't indicate this had anything to do with a series when I clicked on it. Shame on me for not doing my GR sleuthing, I guess. Shame on them for not indicating the series connection. But.. it all worked out? Everyone wins?

"What's America like? Tell me that, at least."
"Barbaric. They eat butter on their croissants."

For an erotica, this was kind of.. fluffy. Jaunty? I don't know how to describe Reisz writing. She's handling serious emotional subject matter and yet I'm laughing all the way through this because Kingley was kind of a ridiculous creature.

"But.. you will fuck anyone."
"I won't. I'll fuck almost anyone. There's a difference."
"Who wouldn't you fuck?"
"Nazis."

Because I have no idea how this ties in, I don't really know if this was some kind of big reveal about this character or if Kingsley is even a 'main' character. I know nothing! But I found this enjoyable, interesting, though not earth shattering. I was even tempted to round up to a four. It was a close call; mainly because of that little bit near the end that kinda made me go 'oho, aha, good one!'. I think if I were to ever read the books, to understand how this fits, I could see this rating going up. Will I ever? I don't know. Too much erotica is.. too much erotica. But maybe one day I'll get around to navigating this hefty series.

"Christ, how many dildos do you have in this house?"
"Enough that were you to suddenly disappear, you would not be missed."

From a standalone perspective, this is definitely easy sexy funny reading, and I actually enjoyed the mindfucks maybe a tiny bit more than the uh.. well, you know. From a series perspective, this is probably a winner. Definitely not sorry I read it and, as a bonus, ten points to Slytherin for the Canadian representation and jokes.

‘I love you. I still love you. I hate you. I still hate you. I want you. I’ll always want you. I only left you so you’d come and find me. Come and find me. Find me and come.’

Another brilliant instalment in the world of Tiffany Reisz’s Original Sinners series. We travel back to when Kingsley is a mere twenty four year old Lieutenant in France. He is a rogue under orders. A man running from the one who owns his heart, sent on an undercover investigation and retrieval mission. Where better to try and disappear yet find yourself than inside the house of a sex cult who celebrate the Story of O?! With Søren very much playing on the mind and in the heart of our beloved Frenchman we learn of a time when introspection and soul searching takes the lead through the manipulations of the illustrious Madame.

‘Use me. Hurt me. Destroy me because you’re the one who created me. Kill me because you’re my only reason for living. Find me because I’m lost without you.’

The elusive Madame drew out the vulnerable side of our cocky lovable Frenchman who has a penchant for sarcastic humour and erotic thrills. I really felt the breath of Søren on the back of my neck as I was reading. His presence felt in the shadows of every word written. The invader of dreams and fantasies. Kingsley goes on a journey -which clearly- as we now know left a permanent imprint on his life thereafter. Thrilling, kinky, erotic and emotional. A story of a strong women and a man who’s somewhat lost.

“He broke me. In so many ways, he broke me. He broke me until I was happy I was so broken. The more pieces of me there were, the more pieces of me there were for him to break into even smaller pieces. By the time he was done with me I was nothing but shards. If I’d spent another day with him, I would have been the dust on the bottom of his shoe.”

I swear I say this every time I review, but this series, these characters- they truly are my heart. I immerse myself so fully I convince myself I’m part of the story. An active character in the shape of a voyeur and eager participant. I can’t get enough, I will never have enough. I will inhale every single instalment Tiffany Reisz releases. Every book a brilliantly written piece of a wonderful and epic puzzle which has me falling in love all over again.

“He tied you up to tell you he never wanted you to leave him. He bit you because you were the food to his soul. He struck you to mark you as his possession.”

3'5 estrellitas.

3.5 stars

only person he’s ever loved.

The Chateau is book 9 in Tiffany Reisz’s Original Sinners series, and it’s a story that readers are going to love. It delves into fan-favorite Kingsley’s past, and interestingly enough, I think this book could stand on its own. If you’ve read the series up to now, I do think it will mean a bit more to you – because who doesn’t love Kingsley longing for Søren? But if you’re new to Tiffany Reisz and this series, I think you could start here, get a taste for her writing, and see that this series, whenever she decides to pick it up, is in full swing. And fans flock to every offering of Kingsley, Nora, Søren and everyone else the author’s given us throughout this series!

I’ve always been curious about Kingsley’s time in the French Foreign Legion, so I was excited to hear about this story. And while I do wish there had been more to that, I still enjoyed The Chateau. I was surprised (but then again not) about how blasé he was during this time in his life. It was typical Kingsley, but I thought if ever there was a time Kingsley was going to be serious, it would during his time in the military. I always love Kingsley, but this book really highlighted my favorite Kingsley – the masochist. There is something about this man when he’s not in control that is so damn sexy. I think because, in present day books, he radiates power and strength. I love when it’s stripped away.I did love the premise of this series, because putting a challenge in front of Kings is always a good time. I loved everything about how he got to the chateau, and once there, there was, as always, a lot of hot sex. It’s mind boggling to me how this author can take even casual sex and make it so meaningful. But I will say, about 60% into this story, it slowed down for me. Luckily it picked back up at the end, and when Madame enters Kingsley’s life once more, it’s clear he will never be the same.

I really enjoyed this glimpse into Kingsley’s past, and what seemed to an event that left quite an impression on him. The Chateau was very layered and there were some twists that I didn’t see coming. If you’re a fan of The Original Sinners series, you’re going to want to pick this latest installment up!

4 "When you find you." Stars

Tiffany Reisz once again dazzles Original Sinners fans with an erotic thriller of a novella for one of her most fascinating characters. Kingsley Edge has so much depth under so many layers we learn something new of him with each new Original Sinners publication. Reisz takes us back in time with this novella revealing more of King's sordid past while introducing new characters to the scene who helped shape the man we know and love. With her deliciously twisted Sinners tales Reisz delves into the unknown of characters we thought we already knew so intimately. The Chateau holds no exceptions to this as we witness a young Kingsley in the midst of a major life change where he's forced to face his greatest fear through a pleasureful journey of pain and acceptance. It was a satisfying way to find out how King became The King in this story of self discovery. Another Original Sinners winning story, I only wish there were more from that past transitioning to after that, maybe for another time. Reisz's writing is as exciting as it cathartic. She's a brilliant story teller whose abundant love for her characters shines with every turn of the page.

What to say about this magnifique book? When I read, I enjoy losing myself in the atmosphere, finding that I can "see" what is being played out before me on the page. This book and the damn talented Tiffany Reisz have that just ability. I was hooked from the beginning. This story deeply fascinated me.
The reading of this novel rekindled my love of Histoire d'O. It has awakened a deep desire to re-read that book.

This is not a typical romance. It is intellectual, honest, poetic, intense, nothing short of brilliant. You don't see this type of depth in many romances. This isn't a light, breezy read. It's serious and thought-provoking, but not without laughs. It will make you think about real love and intimacy and what it really means to value it. It's also much more than romance. It's about personal redemption and sacrifice.

This book is why I love literature and passionate about it.

Beautiful, touching and enchanting writing. This book deserves to be read and enjoyed.

Oh, seriously, Ms. Reisz...what have you done to me? I'm ruined. Seriously and utterly ruined. In all of the best possible ways. Of course. Clean cup, clean cup, move down, move down. This was an erotic suspense that reaquaints us with an old friend... a very dear friend from the Original Sinners series. Kingsley Edge. Also known as Lieutenant Kingsley Boissonneault of the French secret military installation, la Legion.

In this book, a much younger King, is on a mission... is the cost of this mission worth what King wants above all else?

Luckily enough I was given one of these ARC beauties to review prior to release, however, I am now wishing I could become a permanent resident of The Château.

Gah, this book was hot. I mean, not that there is ever a doubt with a Tiffany Reisz book, but, damn. My kindle was smoking.

There were a couple of proofy things but it was an ARC, I am sure it has been fixed since I received my copy. 4.5 stars.

Arc Book Review
Release Date-5/6/18

I didn't originally realise that this was part of a larger series: no matter this was still an enjoyable endeavour surprisingly more humorous in its execution than erotic which surprised me as I was expecting the opposite.
My rating reflects the fact that I haven't read the rest of the series so was somewhat uninvested here.
If you are a regular consumer of this series I imagine the opposite would apply.
Though technically this can be read as a standalone: all the components are there: in my opinion, this would be better served read as part as the series especially since you will already then be invested in the outcome here.
This is a partial backstory of 24-year-old Lieutenant Kingsley and his adventures concerning The aforenamed Chateau.
It's fun flirty and sexy: A well-written foray into a world of taboo practices and free expression.
I enjoyed this very much but it didn't really set me on fire probably because as I mentioned earlier I read this as a solo offering.
Still, it was enjoyable and well written so for that reason this gets a thumbs up from me.
Thank you to the Author and NetGalley for providing me with an ARC of "Do Not Disturb" of which I have reviewed voluntary.
All opinions expressed here are entirely my own.
