He's a rock star with a secret; she's a pop princess with a painful past, can their forbidden romance survive, or will their lies destroy them both?

I've earned my bad reputation.

A few years ago, I was New York City's hottest classical music prodigy. But I wanted something else, something more. So I chased my real dream, and now... I'm rock royalty. Dax Hughes, lead guitarist of Nothing but Trouble. But to my family and former Juilliard classmates, I'm an outcast. A misfit. A rebel.

They're not entirely wrong. I don't give a damn what other people think, and I'm all for breaking the rules... except when it comes to our new opening act, Verity Moore.

Rock gods don't tour with pop princesses.

It's not personal. Actually, under that fallen diva reputation, Verity's incredibly talented. And her fiery redheaded personality is... intriguing. But I'm convinced the skeletons in Verity's closet are as scandalous as my own, and when we're not sparring, she has a way of drawing out all those secrets I'm determined to keep hidden.

Yeah. Verity Moore is definitely off-limits . . .
But since when do I give a damn about the rules?

Rock Rebel is book three in the Nothing But Trouble series by Tara Leigh. Everyone knows how I fall in love with the heroes of the books I read time and time again. But in this book, it’s not the hero I fell in love with. Yes, I loved him too, but it’s the heroine that dug into my heart. That I was thinking about when I wasn’t reading. I hope you’ll read on and let me tell you about Verity and Dax.

Verity
/ˈverədē/
a true principle or belief, especially one of fundamental importance.
"the eternal verities"
• truth.
"irrefutable, objective verity"

truth

Verity Moore was a childhood TV star. She lived with her Mom/manager who controlled everything concerning Verity, including all of the money she earned. Verity was expected to do whatever it took to be a success. But after three seasons, the show was cancelled. At that point, Verity was of age so she took off, finally free, trying to figure out who she was. Things might have gotten a little wild, she made a few mistakes. But now she is in Los Angeles and is ready to start fresh. She has a chance to do what she’s always wanted to do, sing. And she has the chance to be managed by the same manager, Travis Taggert, who manages the famous band, Nothing But Trouble.

Dax Hughes is the lead guitarist for Nothing But Trouble. Dax grew up a child prodigy. He could play any musical instrument you put in his hands. He was raised to play classical music, studied at Julliard. But when who he thought was the love of his life left, he chased her to Los Angeles where he met the band and found a whole new way to express his music. The rest is history. Dax’s heart never recovered. He doesn’t trust. He definitely doesn’t get involved with female musicians. But when he came face to face with Verity for the first time, the electricity was crazy. The chemistry off the charts. Run, part of him screamed. But the other part of him wanted to stay and figure out who this woman was.

“You make me want to know what it’s like to want, just as much as I’m wanted. To take, just as much as I’m giving.”

love

This is Verity’s chance to make it big. And now she is being offered to tour with Nothing But Trouble as their opening act. She can’t get Dax off her mind. But if she gives in to this attraction, the world will think she was given this chance because she slept her way in. She can’t take that chance, no matter how badly she wants him.

“I wanted to watch Verity blaze a path across the sky like the shooting star she was destined to be. But I knew exactly what would happen if I got too close. I’d be incinerated.”

Dax does everything he can to stay away. But he just can’t. He’s tired of fighting whatever it is between them. He doesn’t feel worthy of her. He sees everything good in her, both with her talent and what is on the inside. Whatever it is between them, he needs it to survive.

“What if Dax was just another devil in disguise?”

Verity is so ashamed of her past. She has been used by every single person that has been in her life. But on a deep level, she knows that Dax is different. That he sees her as a woman, not a commodity.

Okay, I’ll stop here. I loved watching these two fall for each other and break down each other’s walls. They both had so many secrets, so much darkness. Verity had been so badly used and hurt. I also want to sing all the praises to Travis Taggert, the manager. This man is a saint.

kissing at the beach

The time line of this book runs parallel with book two, Piper and Landon’s story. But you can also read this as a stand alone. Enough information is given that you wouldn’t be lost. You just would miss out on the amazing stories of Shane and Landon. I loved getting updates on the other two couples in this book, especially Shane and Delaney. This was such a beautiful book and I loved it like crazy. Verity (and Dax) will long live in my heart. This author has become one of my favorite authors and I can’t wait to see what she does next.

“Two souls with just enough wrongs to make everything right.”

I was patiently waiting for this one to come out. I was always curious of Dax’s story and what I got in this book, lord give me more!!!!

Verity Moore, strong, brave, and I couldn’t have loved this character more. This author made Verity one of my favorite heroines ever. Obviously this story has many controversial circumstances played out in it, but the way this amazing author ties it all up, brilliant, breathtaking, simply amazing. It was like seriously reading a real life story. It’s so damn real. To me, I couldn’t wait to see Verity get her HEA, so much deserved!!!

Dax Hughes, super sexy rock star, a super edgy man that doesn’t look for anything more than a one night stand if that. When he comes face to face with Verity Moore, his life changes on the spot. The coincidences of the crazy connections of these two, blew me away. Another reason I loved this story, it kept surprising me. This book wasn’t a story that was predictable to me, heck no, things kept happening that would make me swoon, make me laugh, make me tear up, and often shocked me with how easy it seemed so real life. Dax grew during this story, he became stronger and he finally followed his heart and let go of his past. I loved his growth, and I definitely loved his heart.

Thank you my dear, Tara Leigh, for this book, and for the chance to read it. This whole damn series, it’s been such a wonderful and lovable journey. I can not wait to read more books by you in the future ❤️

Title: ➳ Rock Rebel
Series ➳Nothing But Trouble Series 3#
Author: ➳ Tara Leigh
Publication: ➳December 11th 2018

⭐ ⭐ ⭐⭐⭐
💖💖💖💖💖

ღ I don’t know how many time I can say this , This author was recommend to me, & trust me I’ll be forever grateful… I love finding new authors.. This is my 3rd book by Tara Leigh & I think I am love ---haha

➳ Dax Hughes is amazing guitarist for Nothing but Trouble. But Believe or not Dax was raised to play classical music

➳Dax fell in love with fellow musician & he follow her to Los Angeles where he met the band & found his now band mates… Dax has been around music his whole life. Course the man can basically play anything you put in front of him.
➳ Now years later & complete change of life Dax finds himself fall once again for another musician

➳ Verity Moore is disgraced Pop princess & now is in the process of rebuilding herself & her career.
See she had been in the public eye for some time. Her last job was on music show for 3 year. In process of trying to become teen pop star her mother/manger pushed Verity to do just about anything succeed in her career. Verity try so hard to do whatever she could to please mother. That approval cost Verity high price, price her mother never seem to know….. Or did she know?

It was roll coaster to say the least watching this two, both were struggle with their own secrets to bare… Together they climb that mountain .. Both of them having enough strength in their own way to help the other

The book does touch on hot topic… with the #metoo movement, but I believe that Tara Leigh did graceful job with the subject.

➦📚 Hope you enjoy this read & also always keep in mind this is just my opinion

This book might be in a series, but I can honestly say you can read it as a standalone… Mind you I plan on going back & reading the other two books

Books should be read in order:
Book 1: Rock King
Book 2: Rock Legend
Book 3: Rock Rebel 💕

-------------------------- Happy Reading ---------

Dax is Nothing But Trouble's guitarist.

description

But he hasn't always been a rock star. He used to play classical music with his family. They're still doing the family 'band' thing pretty successfully, but after things with his ex went wrong six years ago, Dax couldn't do it anymore. So he went to Los Angeles, met the other guys and the rest is history.

Now he's back in New York to see his family play a concert, to celebrate his brothers' birthdays and to help his sister with her career choices.

And he meets her. Verity.

She used to be the star of a hit TV show - but after that show ended almost three years ago, her life didn't go the way she would've liked it to go.

Now she has to get rid of her Momanger and find a new professional person to manage her new career.

She finds that manager in Travis - Nothing but Trouble's manager.

Plus also ... mega attraction between Dax and Verity - but Dax doesn't start things with people in the business or with groupies! ☺ And Verity has been through so much, she's scared to trust anyone

What will happen with Verity & Dax?
Will there be a Happy End???
READ THE BOOK TO FIND OUT!☺

#ROCKSTARROMANCE!!!!

description

Eeep! I'm the biggest rockstar romance fan ever!
And this one was just as adorable & heartbreaking as the first ones.

Book #3 takes place around the same time the last book did. Piper and Landon are not yet at their happily ever after either.
But we concentrate on Dax and Verity of course! ☺

They have this meet cute in an elevator - where she recognizes him, but he doesn't know who she is. Adorable.

With Travis as her new manager they'll see each other all the time. Especially now that a song written by Dax will be Verity's first single! Plus she'll go on tour with the band!

The more they see of each other the more they fall in love - but there are so many secrets and pains in their pasts. It won't be easy to get to that happy end!

But we enjoy reading about every single moment!

I really loved Verity and Dax!

description

But grrr... I made the mistake of reading an AL Jackson book before I started this one. I love her stories, but AL Jackson's writing style is just not my thing. And I see so many of the same things in Tara's style. Especially after I saw that she thanks AL Jackson in the acknowledgements. The way too poetic writing. The way too many redundant lines of text. Beautifully describing too many unnecessary things. Sometimes I just want to fast forward to when someone talks again. It's nowhere near as bad as AL Jackson does it, but I see similarities! Most readers will love it - but I just don't have time to read too much poetic stuff. I want things happening. Action.

BUT ... I really adored Dax and his story!!!!☺

ROCK REBEL was a really adorable & heartbreaking #MeToo Hollywood & Rock Star Romance! Hurry to your nearest amazon - Dax will be sold out in no time!!!

***COMING SOON - FULL REVIEW TO COME***

Tara Leigh has written her best Nothing But Trouble Book with Rock Rebel.

Variety and Dax are perfection. The strength Variety musters up to endure and fight for her own HEA is inspiring, and Dax as her supporter and man is brilliant. These two are kind of couple goals.

The book does touch on hot topic/emotional issues, but ideas that need to be discussed and shouted about so they stop. Tara handled this with care, not making judgements but by showing the effects and the need to speak out about it.

While this is Dax’s book, it is really Variety’s. She steals the show like she steals our hearts and Dax’s. I couldn’t have loved this story more

Rock Rebel is here 🎉💕

I'm going in people!

Why am I feeling so nervous? Hehehe

Update:
This book was a pure enticing and addictive read.
There was something about Dax and Verity's connection that brought sasense of restless undeniable pull and a calming clarity that felt real.
Let's be real here and say that the angst in the first half of the book is 'Oh My God!' flipping angst galore!

Rock Rebel is everything you'd expect it to be when you read a title like that. Rock Rebel oozes rebellion , ignites an undeniable desire and takes you on journey filled passion, angst, music, soul, a lilt bit of risk and whole lot of swoon worthy moments.

Somewhere along the way, Tara was able to create a story with two strong protagonist that were mysterious and intriguing to each other yet there was a balance where they became each other's saving grace.

*****DISCLAIMER*****
This book may contain triggers for some. Let's just say that #METOO is an important element and if you're a survivor, some descriptions may be hard for you to read.

O.M.G.!!!!! This! This has literally ALL THE FEELS!!! After I read the first book in the series, I was hooked. I'm not sure how I missed the second book (trust me, I'll be reading it because I clearly missed some awesomeness), I couldn't wait to get my hands on this one. And Oh. My. GOODNESS!!!!!!!

Verity Moore is a washed up child actress who wants a come back. Ok, not just a come back, she wants to completely start over. She never really wanted to be an actress. That was something that her momager forced on her. No...she wanted to be a singer. A star. But that's not exactly what happened. Nope. After becoming the disgraced pop princess (a title given to her after her TV show failed), she knew the road to starting over would be hard. But dang...it seems like the past just keeps rearing it's ugly head.

Dax Hughes is the guitarist for Nothing but Trouble. He's also the classically trained, plays just about an instrument, writes his own music, but has his own past to deal with kind of guy. After leaving his families musical group, following a woman to LA, he literally stumbles in to the band. But he hasn't quite dealt with his past either. And now that he's found a girl he actually can see a future with, his past and future collide in a way he never thought possible.

This!!!! You will honestly go through every emotion reading this book. I laughed, cried, threw the book and then held on for dear life. The undoubtable chemistry between Dax and Verity played out so perfectly. Although the attraction was obviously there from the beginning, it blossomed over time. Only making it that much more...you know? And OMG, that twist. That freaking twist!!!! Holy mole, I didn't even see that coming. And then the other twist?!!! Brilliant writing....just brilliant.

I'm a little sad and confused though....seems like we might not get Jett's story? Or will we?????

4 "Tell me something true." Stars

The third book of the Nothing But Trouble series is without a doubt my favorite. Not only did the characters charm me but the plot moved fluidly, without a lot of the filler I found in the other books prior. And the story arced at just the right time with an unexpected conflict that was both surprising and fresh. Rock Rebel seemed to give me just a little bit more of what I missing in the prior two books of this series. I found myself ensconced in Dax and Verity. They had interesting back stories and the connection between them leapt from the pages. This author glued them together unassumingly and fortified their connection through their shared love of music in a beautifully endearing way. I think readers, because I know I was, will be just as surprised as the two main characters at how easy these two fit within each others realms.

It's an honest look at the grind rock star and Hollywood life can be on the soul all the while maintaining truth between these two vibrant characters. Tara Leigh makes certain you realize the strain this glamorous life takes on those who break through in it. She also relates her flawed heroine to the current happenings in Hollywood in an astonishingly dark way that makes you feel deeply for her and for the current climate of our culture and the women in it. I think that was the most influential part to me. How Verity is most definitely flawed but she was also wronged. The strength she garners and the change she makes because of it are inspiring. And the way Dax responds to that gives us hope that there are men out their willing to fight for women to stand on their own independence with pride. Tara Leigh made this about more than the characters, her writing cultivated a deeper issue in which I feel deeply for and that made this book all the better.

Additionally, all the people you've grown to love in the Nothing But Trouble world recur here in the best of ways making Dax and Verity's story more full. Even if this is your first book of the series it easily reads as a standalone but you'll be spoiled on the events of the prior two books. I recommend to readers who enjoy rock star romance.

You can see this and other Reviews I have written along with various cover reveals, excerpts, and giveaways here Nadine's Obsessed with Books

I was waiting for Dax and Verity's story for a while, while reading Rock Legend you could tell there was something going on between the two of them and if there wasn't there should have been. Well, there was because this story takes place along side part of that book. Each book in this series can be read as a standalone but I feel you will enjoy each of the stories more if you read them in order, that being said I do not feel that you will be lost if you do not read the first two books in the series.

If you don't know the meaning behind the word Verity, here it is: TRUTH!

ver·i·ty /ˈverədē/
noun
a true principle or belief, especially one of fundamental importance. "the eternal verities"
truth. "irrefutable, objective verity"

Verity's truth is a hard one so please be aware if you have triggers, her truth follows along the lines of the #METOO movement and it might be hard for some to read about.

Dax and Verity are perfect for one another but please don't think it was an easy road for them because it really wasn't there was a lot going on but this is a spoiler free review so you'll just have to read the book to find out what happens. Just know that there is an HEA at the end of it all. While I have enjoyed and even loved the other two books in the Nothing But Trouble Series, Rock Rebel is my favorite. I love a good book boyfriend which Dax is but Verity is one strong, kicka$$ woman that really made the book for me. If you have been abused, or know someone who has, I know it's not an easy choice whether you choose to stay silent or come out the choice is always a difficult one - just know there is help out there. Your local place or worship, a police station, the hospital, the community center, there are even places online that can help even if you don't want to turn the person in, just to have someone to talk to about it can help a lot. Be Safe, Be Well, Be Loved.

Happy Reading!!!

"The man was a song I didn't know the chorus to. A chord chart with missing notes. Frustrating. And so, so tempting."

What can I say? I simply love the guys from Nothing But Trouble. And the name is so fitting. All band members are truly nothing but trouble: They are kings. They are legends. They are rebels... As Dax was always the quiet one, seemed the most thoughtful, reserved and withdrawn. In Rock Rebel we get this full package and some more. Because Dax is every piece of a rock rebel as well.

"Verity Moore was a star. The kind of musician that burned so brightly she would become the sun in her own universe."

Verity is one of a kind. Her character and background story, I'm sure is inspired by the current #metoo movement, touches a sensitive topic among stardom, stars and starlets from the music industry and Hollywood. She shows a lot of inner strength following the path she thinks is right for her. However, while doing so, falling for one of the hottest band members of a very famous rockband was surely not on her to-do list.

"The kiss of an angel, dispensed by a man whose dark looks and mysterious smile were pure devil. Sin had never looked so damn sexy."

Dax is every piece of man I wished him to be. He's a girls wet dream package and then some. His heart is pure gold but the package of his past wears him down. No surprise then, that the woman who brings him finally to his knees is everything he always tried to avoid. But fate has sometimes cruel and strange ways to bring together what belongs together.

"Verity was the music of my soul, and I intended to spend the foreseeable future learning her lyrics."

Rock Rebel is a journey of two broken souls finding solace, strength and support in each other woven into an pioneering, intense and emotional storyline in a rockstar world my heart longs for.

Thanks to the author for providing a copy of this book via Netgalley

Liked a lot this heroine!! She was through a lot, betrayed by her own mother!!
But she's got some balls, she found herself, she found her love.
The hero I didn't like, first, he was a coward, too much "I don't deserve you, we can't be together, you are better without me"... Dude, really??!!
And than.... He went and fucked up everything a bit more!!!
No cheating, no OP scenes. MCs were faithful to each other.

Oh wow! Another beautiful, emotional romance from Tara Leigh! A rockstar romance between two broken and misunderstood characters who find something amazing together. I was sucked right in and loved the rollercoaster ride of Dax and Verity’s story.

Dax is the quiet, more reserved member of rock band Nothing But Trouble - lead guitarist, musical prodigy and secret songwriter. He grew up in the world of classical music and up until a few years ago he was performing on stage with his family, until he gave it all up for a love which crashed and left him devastated when his girl proved she was more committed to a career in the industry than she was to him. But he picked himself up and found happiness and brotherhood with his bandmates, and he hasn’t looked back since.

Verity Moore is known as a “disgraced former pop star”. Forced into stardom by her fame-hungry mother, she was cast in a TV-show about a young singer which saw her reach epic levels of celebrity. But the sacrifices to get there have left her emotionally scarred and damaged. She left the show and struggled to find herself all in the eye of the gossip-hungry public who gloried in her downfall. Now 24, she has pulled her life back together and she is fighting for the future that she wants, as a singer. She has just landed herself a new agent, one that she shares with Nothing But Trouble, and she has landed a gig as their opening act on their upcoming tour.

Sparks fly from Dax and Verity’s first meeting, but he is initially clueless as to who she is. And once he finds out, he backs off, wanting nothing to do with anybody in the business after being burned so badly. Verity is also hesitant to start anything with Dax, not wanting anybody to believe that she is on the tour simply because she’s sleeping with one of the band members. It’s a tricky situation, complicated by Dax and Verity’s incredible pull to each other, and the chemistry and intensity is sizzling from the very beginning.

This man could swallow me whole. Consume me. Own me.
And I might just let him.

As much as they try to fight it, Dax and Verity’s attraction is irresistible. And as they get to know each other, they realise that there is so much more to the other than they originally thought, and they begin to genuinely feel something for each other, and OMG, their angsty longing is just delicious!

“I haven’t wanted anything but music in a long time.” A deep groan wrenched from me as I roughed fingers through my hair. “Never planned on wanting another woman – not any one in particular. But I want you, Verity. So fucking badly.”

They have ups and downs and there is a fair bit of back and forth as they fight the battle between the heads and their hearts (and their libidos), and I was glued to my kindle as it all unfolded. It’s sweet, emotional, dramatic and frustrating, but it’s so romantic and, hell yes, it’s sexy as they fall deeper and deeper for each other, unable to resist, and their passionate intensity practically leaps off the page!

Dax’s hands were everywhere. Mine were wrapped around his neck, my fingers threading into his scalp and holding on for dear life as he took my body on the ride of its life.

“Tell me, what exactly are your intentions?”
He dropped a gentle kiss on the tip of my nose, his hips moving again, his cock sliding back into place. “That’s simple, baby. I’m makin’ you mine.”

Of course there are dramas, they still have a lot from their pasts that they have to deal with, and there are some fantastic twists and turns to their story. I loved the way that Leigh brought relevance and reality to her story by tying in the #metoo movement, and I thought Verity’s story was a fantastic exploration of how easily a hopeful actor can be taken advantage of in such tragically devastating ways, and the emotional impact of that abuse. And the strength she shows to pick herself up and move on is really inspiring. I just loved her as a character, and Dax stole my heart as the broken man finding love again. They are absolutely beautiful together, and I was completely invested in them as a couple. I loved the way they opened up to each other, and the friend/lover/musical partner vibe that they shared.

“Tell me something true,” …
“There’s nowhere else I’d rather be than right here with you, tonight.”

The timeframe of this book overlaps with the previous book in the series Rock Legend, and it contains spoilers for that one so I wouldn’t recommend reading this as a standalone. But I have loved each of the books in this series, so you wouldn’t want to miss out on those anyway!

I loved this book. It’s a beautifully emotional love story that stole my heart, and I can’t wait for final band member, Jet, to meet his match in the next book.

4.5 stars.

I'm going to be very honest with you all... this book was my favorite by Tara Leigh, and believe me when I say that I loved them all very dearly but there is just something about Dax and Verity that won me over from the start. They were both broken souls trying to make it in a world full of grenades. They each had their own secrets and a past that had broken their hearts and closed them both to the idea of love with someone from the industry or even at all.

Dax was the perfect rockstar hiding his pain behind this persona and vouching to never be envolved with someone in the music biz that is until the princess comes back, Verity Moore and she rocks him to his core at first glance and with every piece of her she gives him, he falls more and more. Verity never had it is easy, she has grown up forced to be someone other than who she really is, forced to do things she wouldn't have if she had another choice. But she is a phoenix rising from her ashes and she's back to make a name for herself the way she wants, and to get her revenge on those who took advantage of her. All the while with Dax by her side, helping her with her problems and her carreer and the music they make together brings them even closer.

Guys, seriously this book was amazing. For me, Tara Leigh just gets better and better with each release and this one really toped them all. I loved it to bits. Dax is my new favorite NBT member and I'm not sure anyone can steal his spot in my heart. And I also have so much love for Verity and how she rose from the ashes and put those who hurt her where they belong. You go girl! These two are both very special and I feel like their story is one that will stay with me forever.

Gah!! Rock Rebel was another amazing book by Tara Leigh that I could could not get enough of! Verity and Dax were so sexy and intense. I loved the push and pull and emotional connection between them. Their feelings and attraction for one another were on another level and it was so addicting to see.

While this is the third book in the Nothing but Trouble series, Rock Rebel is a complete standalone that can be independently enjoyed. When Verity Moore, disgraced movie star and pop princess and rockstar, Dax Hughes see each other for the first time, there is an attraction and intensity in their interaction that can be felt off the pages. Leigh did an outstanding job portraying an amazing lovestory with current real life #metoo elements that gave this story a vivid modern feel. This was fantastic and such an amazing addition to the series. Bravo! 4.5 stars! ~Ratula

THIS. BOOK!!!! I loved Rock Legend so I was quite excited to get my hands on Rock Rebel... Didn't disappoint! Dax and Verity are E.V.E.R.Y.T.H.I.N.G!!! Each of them had a great back story that just slayed me! And it made me love them individually so much, that watching them get together and fall in love was the greatest feeling!!! Bombs that dropped had me feeling like someone punched me in the stomach. The first time they actually get together left me breathless! The way it was written just totally made time slow down as I was reading. I felt worshipped just reading it! I was outraged a time or 2, and even shed a few tears... Happy or sad? You'll have to read it yourself to find out! Tara Leigh killed it with this book! It was a very great way to spend 2 days.

As a blogger, I have been blessed with the ability to discover new authors regularly. Yet, when I discover authors that I love, I am limited by a tight blogging schedule therefore it’s not always easy to read books in an author’s backstock. Tara Leigh is without a doubt, one of my favorite new authors this year! As a matter of fact, she’s one of the few that I have carved time out of my incredibly tight schedule to read those backstock books that might otherwise just sit on my TBR. Tara Leigh’s stories literally leave me enthralled—start to finish—I devour her words in one sitting, reading through the night and forgoing sleep altogether when I can pick up a book she’s written. Luckily, I discovered her before Rock Rebel was offered to bloggers, so I had it in my schedule and sat—not so patiently—waiting for the advanced copy to hit my kindle. Words can’t tell you how much I loved it. Rock Rebel was an exceptional Rockstar Romance!!!! I consumed this book in one sitting--her words were so compelling I stayed up all night to finish the book. And damn was I tired the next day, but it was worth EVERY single yawn and all the calories I consumed in coffee. If I could have, I would have instantly reread Dax and Verity’s love story!!

The Characters:

Verity Moore:

"the Disgraced Pop Princess"

"…a star. The kind of musician that burned so brightly she would become the sun in her own universe."

"…A redhead with the face of an angel, the eyes of a leprechaun, and a laugh that sounded like wind chimes…"

"She was sickness and cure. Risk and safety net. The face of an innocent, the body of a sinner. A past filled with darkness, a future shining bright. My broken bombshell. My reckless, resilient rebel."

Dax Hughes:

"Rock Royalty"

"...a former classical musician who was now one of the baddest boys on the rock scene, a rebel through and through."

“…the guitarist for Nothing but Trouble was exactly the kind of trouble I didn’t need.”

"…flaunting bedroom eyes, shredded jeans, and an aloof expression, Hughes was every inch the cocky celebrity I made every effort to avoid."

"A kick-ass musician with a sexy smolder… who wasn’t a selfish, arrogant bastard. The man was a damn unicorn."

"…a song I didn’t know the chorus to. A chord chart with missing notes."

The characters are genuine. Believable. You will be able to relate to them and it will make the story all the deeper because you’ll have connected deeply with Dax and Verity. Tara Leigh went to great pains to write a very authentic romance—this was not a wham-bam, thank you ma’am romance. It could have been, but the depth of character she establishes demanded far more. Verity’s past, established through flashbacks, will leave you heartbroken and angry. Equally true for Dax, although for far different reason. Some authors are artists—and that is certainly true of Tara Leigh. The composition of the story and the characters forced me to live their story! I hurt along with them, I cried. Or I felt their joy just as they experienced it. The characters will own your heart and you’ll be hopelessly addicted to the chemistry long before they finally get around to setting the house on fire… Oh yah, did I mention that you should have B.O.B. charged, your spouse on standby and/or be prepared for a very cold shower because you’re panties are going to be on fire with Dax and Verity! 😉 Tara Leigh delivers some of the most delicious romances I’ve read… and I certainly have needed to jump my husband after reading a scene she’s written more than once!

Rock Rebel is the complete package. A romance that offers depth, heart and is insanely sexy. The story is SUPERB! With a power message, Rock Rebel isn’t your ordinary, run-of-the-mill rockstar romance. Tara Leigh will unequivocally grab your attention and hold onto it cover to cover. Her words resonated with me long after I have finished the story and if I could, I would have reread it again and again. There are just some authors who are artists, and she is one. The way she composes her stories, her use of syntax and diction, are second to none. Like me, you too will be forced to live these stories because of the connection you’ll feel to the characters. As I mentioned before, Tara Leigh is one of my favorite new authors in 2018 and Rock Rebel is high in the list of my favorite reads this year as well. Tara Leigh’s cemented herself in my permanent one-click list and I am sure you’ll feel the same way after you’ve read Rock Rebel, so quit reading reviews, one-click your next five star read immediately! Happy Reading 😊

5 Star Review of Rock Rebel (Nothing But Trouble #3) by Tara Leigh
This was my first book by Tara Leigh and I have no idea why that is and I found myself totally invested in Dax and Verity’s story.
Dax Hughes is the lead guitarist of Nothing But Trouble (love the name), a bad boy rock star who once upon a time in a previous life was a classical music prodigy. Turning his back on the music of his past, he is doesn’t care what his family or others think, until he meets Verity Moore.
Verity Moore is trying to make a comeback after a failed TV show and wants to do what she has always longed to do and that is to sing. The last thing she needs is to become involved with Dax. Both Verity and Dax have secrets which are best left alone. However these two are drawn to each other, through their love of music, even knowing that they should not be. What will happen when their passion ignites?
Dax and Verity have pasts that will impact heavily on their current situation. Verity’s issues in particular may trigger reactions in some readers, so please be prepared. Tara Leigh handles these issues with care and compassion and I with impressed with how she wrote this story line.
I really loved the chemistry between Dax and Verity and it was great to see their relationship move forward as they embarked on tour. Rock Rebel shows Verity that she is stronger than she knows she is and with Dax’s support she can be strong and successful.
I liked that these characters were so realistic, they were easy to relate to and I so wanted both Dax and Verity to get their happily ever after.
I enjoyed this book so much that when time permits I will go back and read the previous books in the series.

Rock Rebel has got to be my favorite book from the Nothing But Trouble series.

Dax and Verity's relationship definitely takes you through a journey. Both of them are so drawn to one another and yet know that the last thing that they should do is get into a relationship but their pull is strong.

Dax how I loved him in this. Even though he too has his own feelings towards being in a relationship he was like he couldn't help but try to be there for Verity. It's that pull that sucks you into this one. Tara also throws a twist our way that will have you saying OMG no way.

A great ending to a fantastic series.

Holy Crap!!! Once again Author Tara Leigh has “ROCKED” my mind! Rock Rebel, book 3 in the Nothing But Trouble series, starts off fantastic and packed with heat, and doesn’t.ever.stop! From the very beginning scene in the elevator with Verity and Dax and throughout the whole storyline, you will be hooked!!!

I have really, really enjoyed this series and I believe this book might just be my favorite! I loved the instant attraction and banter, the conflict, the love, the angst, the (HOT) sex scenes, humor, all the characters (in this whole series)…I may have yelled at a character or two out loud while I was reading…HAHA…just LOVED all of it!!! Ms. Leigh has an amazing talent with her words! There are so many quotes and phrases I read over again because I felt them so hard.

“Christ, Verity. There’s nothing about you that doesn’t work for me. Nothing.”

“I thought I was in love once, years ago.
I was a moron.
What I felt then was nothing compared to now.
Verity was the real deal.
She was True.”

AAAHHHHHH!!!! YESSSSS!!!!

When Verity, an actress-turned singer, meets up with Travis (Dax’s manager) she is hoping for a fresh start. Trying to overcome her past evils, including her mother who used to be her manager, and her other nightmares behind her, she signs on to open for Nothing But Trouble. Dax, the hot as hell guitarist for NBT is hoping he can get past any feelings he has for her, because of his disastrous relationship from his past as well. They are both keeping secrets buried, but that never seems to work! The song Dax wrote for Verity (Bombshell Rebel) and the #MeToo movement included in this story are perfect!
I HIGHLY recommend this book! It is A-FREAKING-MAZING!!!!

***SPOILER ALERT***

***DON’T READ ANY FURTHER IF YOU DON’T WANT TO SKIP TO THE STORY’S ENDING***

***LAST CHANCE***

I have to say, of all the proposals I have read…this one is easily one of my favorites!!! The way it happens, the humor involved, the way the whole thing was written…I JUST LOVED IT!!!!

4.5 stars for me

This was my first Tara Leigh book - but it definitely won’t be my last.

Dax and Verity are the kind of characters I love. Genuine, loving and so believable that I felt like I knew them. Tough subjects are handled in this story. The author does a beautiful job of highlighting a very real issue for women and some scenes are hard, but the message is important and the story needs to be told. I will definitely be looking for more books from this author.

I received an arc of this book

“If I was going to go up in flames, Dax could light the damn match.”

“I barely knew Dax. He barely knew me. But this invisible thread between us–I knew it deep in my soul. It was universal, primal, powerful.”

“He was in the zone. That place where music took over and you were just a conduit, a means of expressing something bigger and more powerful than you could fathom unless you experienced it for yourself. All bristling intensity, Dax was so beautiful in this moment. His passion pure and potent. He took my breath away.”

“Verity Moore. She was a sickness and a cure. Risk and safety net. The face of an innocent, the body of a sinner. A past filled with darkness, a future shining bright. My broken bombshell. My reckless, resilient rebel.”

I fell in love with Verity from the very beginning. She’s a lot tougher than she seems at the same time is the kind of girl you just want to protect. She made a lot of mistakes when she was younger, but everyone deserves a second chance. And when life tosses her that second chance, she’d be a fool not to take it. You see, Verity always wanted to be a singer and her big dream is about to come true. Being the opening act for Nothing But Trouble doesn’t seem real. She wants nothing more than to be a success and to prove to her fans that she’s more than just a has been. But when Dax enters the picture, he manages to turn her entire world upside down. Verity can’t stop thinking about him and worries that getting involved with a man like him would bring her nothing but trouble…There is a lot more to Dax than what meets the eye. Yes, he’s a sexy and talented musician, but would you have guessed that he was a child prodigy and has studied with some of the best? He could play just about anything you put in front of him and was a star when it came to classical music. That is until a woman broke his heart. He followed her to LA, but that just ended up being a dead end. Only his heart never recovered and he soon found a new outlet for his music. He’s great at what he does, but his walls are sky high. And when Verity enters the picture, all bets are off. There’s just something about her that gets under Dax’s skin and he can’t get her out of his mind. Their chemistry is intense and just begs to be taken a chance on. Staying away from each other seems impossible no matter how much they try…..

Overall, I really enjoyed Dax and Verity’s story. I was pulled in instantly and easily devoured this book in just a single sitting. I loved this author’s writing style and I loved the steady pace of the story. I will say that Rock Rebel does deal with some pretty tough issues and I appreciated the way that the author handled them.

I loved the pull between Dax & Verity and I really enjoyed seeing them trying to figure out things. They both had secrets in their past and guarded their hearts. But, the feelings these two had, were way too hard to deny. All they could do was sit back, enjoy the ride and hope that everything would work out in the end.

Rock Rebel is a fun and sexy read. While it is the third book in this series, it definitely can be read as a stand-lone. Rock Rebel will have you feeling a ton of emotions, but in the end, it’s totally worth the ride. This is the first book that I’ve read in this series and I’m super excited to get my hands on the other two books.

*I was provided an ARC copy of this book, via the author & NetGalley, in exchange for an honest review*

I'm becoming a big fan of Leigh's books. This book just sealed the deal. There was so much emotion going into this story. You could feel the heartbreak of Verity's life. Dax had a lot insecurities, but like Verify should of had. She didn't let all the wrong that was done to her, or by her, make her weak. It made stronger.

I would liked to see what happened between her mother and herself, but that is the drama queen in me talking.

English/spanish version

I do not have enough words to describe everything that this story made me feel, from the first pages it enveloped my soul, it owned my heart and made me completely addicted to its words, I am seriously obsessed with the characters, gahhh, I have been thinking for three days in them. This couple stole my heart.

Through a steady rhythm and lyrical prose the author hooked the readers in the story of the characters. Verity is such a brave girl, so strong, she has had to survive quite tough situations and she has been accompanied by a stigma that pigeonholes her into something that she is not. My heart squeezed several times for her.

Dax, oh God, is completely perfect, I fell completely in love at his feet from the first moment, because in addition to being a sexy rock star (we know that only that adds up all the points) he is so sweet, he made me sigh many times , his details for Verity, ahhhhh, he's so perfect!!

The chemistry between both practically radiates from the pages, it's perfect, their scenes are charged with intense attraction and so passionate, their scenes of sex more than sex are deep emotional connections that I felt in my heart and had me reading as if my life depended on It, made my soul sigh, it provoked goosebumps, it accelerated my heart and stopped my breathing, they were completely and absolutely perfect.

Mrs. Leigh captivated me, the story caught me and I do not want to leave it ... I want to stay with the characters and live with them. Because it is not just a story about a rock star, this story goes beyond touching important topics of reading.

Also, I need to read the other two books in the series, because I loved the secondary characters and I need to know their stories, I loved the relationship of the characters in the band, it felt like a family. That wonderful epilogue was the perfect closing.

This is definitely, one of my favorite stories of this year, it is sexy, epic, emotional, intense, passionate and has some twists that left me in shock. It is definitely a MUST READ. YOU DO NOT WANT TO MISS IT.

This contemporary romance is like a window into the world of celebrities. Dax is a member of a successful rock group but he keeps secrets regarding his songwriting and some aspects of his relationship with his family, who are classical musicians. When he first sees Verity, he doesn’t recognise her but is seriously attracted. However, he’s already had a bad experience with his childhood sweetheart and the music business so he’s determined not to fall for another performer.

Verity was a child star who is trying to put her past behind her and to move on with more control on her future. She was pushed into situations by her mother who also managed her career and her finances. The last thing she needs or wants is anything to distract her from this opportunity for a new beginning!

Can the two resist their mutual attraction? Is there any way to reconcile their past with a future together? There are plenty of twists and turns in this engaging read which has aspects relating to the #metoo campaign/movement - and is a brilliant way to show just how such sexual abuse was perpetrated by those in powerful situations. It also gives hope for some of the victims.

I requested and was gifted a copy of this book via NetGalley and this is my honest review after choosing to read it.

With „Rock Rebel” Tara Leigh wrote her bet Nothing But Trouble book. It’s another beautiful, emotional, rock star romance between two characters who are broken and misunderstood who find something truly amazing together. Believe me when I say. You will be instantly sucked in and you will fell in love in the rollercoaster ride that is Dax and Verity story.

Verity Moore is a former childhood TV star. She lived with her mum who was also her manager who controlled everything that concerned Verity, including who all of the money that she earned. Verity was expected to do everything to be a success. But as it often happens in show business after three seasons her show got canceled. And at this point she was of age so she was finally able to take off, cause she was finally free and she was finally able to figure out who she truly was. So as it often happens she made few mistakes and sometimes things got a little wild. Now she is in LA and is ready to start new. She finally has a chance to do what she wanted to do all her life and that would be singing. She has big chance to be managed by the same manager, Travis Taggert, who is also a manager of the famous band Nothing But Trouble.

Dax Hughes is the lead guitarist of said band who grew up as a child prodigy that could play any musical instrument that was put in his hands. He was raised to play classical music and studied at Juliard. But when person who he thought to be his one true love left him he decided to chase her to LA where he met the band and found totally new way to express his music. But Dax never recovered and he doesn’t trust anyone and definitely doesn’t get involved with female musicians. But it all changes when he meets Verity for the first time and the electricity and chemistry between them was crazy. Part of him wanted to run but the other part of him wanted to stay and figure out who this woman was.

For Verity is her chance to make it big to go on the tour with Nothing But Trouble as their opening act. At the same time she can’t get Dax off her mind. But if she gives in to this attraction, the world will think she was given this chance because she slept her way in. She can’t take that chance, no matter how badly she wants him. On the other hand Dax does everything he is able to stay away but he just can’t. He is just tired of fighting whatever it is between them yet still he doesn’t feel worthy of her. He sees everything good in her, both with her talent and what is on the inside. Whatever it is between them, he needs it to survive. Verity is so ashamed of her past. She has been used by every single person that has been in her life. But on a deep level, she knows that Dax is different. That he sees her as a woman, not a commodity. And that’s the moment when I stop. If you want to know if they will be together or not you need to read this book and believe me when I say it’s totally worth it and you definitely won’t regret it.

Tara Leigh has written her best Nothing But Trouble Book with Rock Rebel. Variety and Dax are perfection. The strength Variety musters up to endure and fight for her own HEA is inspiring, and Dax as her supporter and man is brilliant. These two are kind of couple goals for totally everyone.
