The thrilling conclusion to the epic middle grade fantasy series that Booklist called “a charming blend of Arthurian legend and Brian Jacques’ Redwall series.”
Young mouse Calib Christopher is finally a squire to the Knights of the Round Table. But there is no time to celebrate. His best friend, Cecily, and Merlin’s magical treasure are in the clutches of the evil Saxons.
Now Calib and his human companion Galahad must venture into enemy territory to rescue both before it’s too late. But Morgan le Fay’s magic is powerful and treacherous, and it will test all that they have learned in their training—as well as their very allegiance to Camelot.
The stars are aligning for a final battle—one that will require Calib and his friends to harness the magic of Merlin as well as the strength, bravery, and wisdom within themselves to become the mythical heroes they were destined to be.
Perfect for fans of New York Times bestselling series like Wings of Fire and Warriors, Mice of the Round Table brings to life a legendary world of animals and magic that kids will want to return to again and again.
JULIE LEUNG is an award-winning author of numerous children’s books. Her picture book, The Truth About Dragons is a Caldecott Honor and winner of the Asian/Pacific American Award for Literature. By day, she works in book publishing. She was raised in the sleepy suburbs of Atlanta, Georgia, though it may be more accurate to say she grew up in Oz and came of age in Middle-earth.
Finally finished this series with my kids. A heart-warming take on the Arthurian Mythos, with animals (particularly mice) living and striving alongside humans. While Galahad is on a quest to find the Grail to save Camelot from Morgan and her Saxon allies, so is his friend, Calib Christopher, one of the mice of Camelot (Excalibur allows Galahad to understand the speech of animals). It's kind of like Redwall, in that animals form a good bit of the dramatis personae, but the human characters of the Arthurian Mythos are also a big part of the story. Anyway, the kids liked this one much more than I did, but it was good and wholesome, and when my kids have fun, I usually do, too!
I am such a sucker for stories featuring rodentia!
These are cute, quick reads. Great for a class bookshelf, true middle grade (4th-6th grades) fare. Presumes content background knowledge of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table (specifically, Guinevere, Lancelot and Galahad), although the plots are original takes on the legends -- from a heroic mouse's point of view.

Very sad day. Just finished the last book in this series. 😞 Loved this series. In this book, we learn who will take over Camelot, if it survives. The reason behind why the Saxons are always attacking. As I have stated before, a series that I would requirement to any fan of REDWALL by Brian Jacques. To Julie Leung, I HOPE you will extend this series. Three books is not enough! I only know of one other series that compares to REDWALL. This is an area of books that is greatly needed.
