4.5 brilliant Stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟.5

This book did a fabulous job of balancing humor and some serious subject matter.... Holly has been married for 15 years... after reading some suggestive text messages on her husband’s phone, trust has gone out the window.... i’ve always said the minute I am reading messages on somebody’s phone I’m out the door, if I can’t trust you we are done! Of course I say this as a happily divorced woman, and my marriage did not break up because of cheating, we had plenty of other issues... I mention this because I think there are some parts of this book I viewed differently because for me my life improve so much after I left my marriage, that I see it as a good option... and I realize this is not how a lot of people look at it....

Holly was a wonderful character, and let me just start this off by saying she was way too good for her husband Alex.... Holly was fun, real, and really did not give her self enough credit.... Alex was just a pompous jerk.... I cannot imagine this was a blissful marriage up until to the point of these text messages, unless Alex had a personality transformation as well... did not like him... at all... Holly is determined to save her marriage though... she does this by trying to spice things up in the bedroom... and by throwing him a 40th birthday party.... she also took it upon herself to play detective and some of her techniques were quite amusing....

The secondary characters in this book were quite quirky and fun... loved Holly’s brother Simon he was fabulous! Jack was quite delightful as well... Holly‘s two BFFs were a lot of fun also, even though she suspected one of them of being the person Alex was cheating with....

brilliant book filled with fabulous characters, lots of laughs and an ending you will not see coming... absolutely recommend if you enjoy a humorous book about real life....

5☆An Hilarious Romp.i couldn't put down!

Whay Holly's Husband Did, is a hilarious romp about betrayal, friendship, relationships, mishaps and lots of laughter.

I absolutely adored this book. I can't tell you how much it had me laughing out loud.
At times I was thinking I really shouldn't be laughing at this but I couldn't help myself.

Holly's Husband has been sexting a person called Queenie. She discovered the texts on his phone.
Holly just can't trust him.

Holly's bestest friends Caro and Jeanie are eager to direct Holly's sex life.
But truth is she isn't getting any. But she just can't bring herself to tell them the truth. So she makes up some wild story to get there juices flowing.

I felt so sorry for Holly. I was wishing for her to confide in her friends.
Instead she tells her camp brother who lets slip her hubby is on Facebook.
So she does no more and sets up a Facebook account to start snooping!
What could possible go wrong! ... right!

Debbie has created characters that literally jump off the page. They are relatable and believable and my heart simply went out to Holly as she struggles to keep her family together.

What Holly's Husband Did is a fast paced compulsive read I literally devoured in one night. I just couldn't put it down!
Debbie has a witty writing style that had me laughing so hard.
Debbie has weaved her magic once again and created the perfect mix of humour with sensitive subjects, romance and friendship.

Prepare to laugh alot and smile as you read this Heartwarming and Compelling Page Turner. Enjoy!

EXCERPT: 'Listen to me, you silly goose. Do you really think I have the time or energy to have an affair?'

I looked at my husband. This was a man with a sex drive smaller than a goldfish.

MY THOUGHTS: Disappointing. Predictable. Not at all funny. Didn't even crack a smile, let alone laugh ...

2.5 stars.

What Holly’s Husband Did by Debbie Viggiano is another example of an author taking a tough subject and turning it into something fun. The entire book is one woman’s struggles with trust and suspicion of infidelity but it will still have a reader laughing out loud many times.

Holly Hart and her husband Alex have been married for fifteen years and have a thirteen year old daughter together that has just hit the teen rebellion stage. On the outside they could be seen as the perfect family but on the inside things aren’t so great for the couple.

The previous Christmas had Holly frantic and sending Alex to the store for milk when he left his phone lying in the kitchen. The phone beeps and Holly glances at it seeing some very naughty texts her husband’s way. When Alex returns he has a perfectly reasonable explanation but Holly just can’t get it out of her mind. With Alex’s fortieth birthday approaching Holly goes to the extremes to bring the spark back into their marriage and find out just what is going on with them.

I love that the author was able to take something so serious and turn it into something a bit more fun. All of the characters in here were done rather nicely making them just jump from the pages and the author certainly answered my love of having quirky characters that stand out. I have to admit to the rare occasion of thinking oh just leave the jerk but then she would bring the laughs to the story yet again lightening it up and then giving a huge twist at the end that one wouldn’t expect.

I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley.

Holly has been married to dentist Alex for Fifteen years. They have one teenage daughter Sophie and were happily married until Holly found some flirty text messages on his phone from ‘Queenie’. Alex tries to convince Holly that it is someone from his practice who is stalking him, but she’s not convinced.

With the help of lifelong best friends, Jeanie and Caro, plus neighbour Jack, Holly decides to seek out the truth for herself. But has she bitten off more than she can chew?

I’ll start by being completely honest. I got three chapters into this book and wrote it off. I just couldn’t get myself interested in it, and so I put it down for a while, but something kept on nagging at me to pick it up again. So eventually I gave in and gave it a second go. Whilst I didn’t find myself laughing hysterically, or even out-loud, I did find the book engaging and interesting and I’m glad that I didn’t write it off completely.

The characters are all well developed and interesting to get to know and were perfectly realistic. The relationship between the three best friends is just how you would imagine it to be when you have been through everything together since school. Holly is a woman on a mission. A lot of women would have screamed and yelled at the messages on their husbands’ phone, but Holly decides that he is her husband and this other woman isn’t having him. Not sure I would have done the same, especially with an over-bearing, stuck-up husband like hers was.

There is a great twist in the book too which I didn’t see coming. I sat and read the book (second time) on a hot glorious day in the garden and finished it within a few hours. It held my attention and was truly enjoyable. The author has taken a serious issue and made it light-hearted, which has really worked. The book is an easy read perfect for adding to your summer TBR list.

I have lost it, I have lost it, I've seriously lost it. It is sad, it is disheartening, it is really very bad. I have nothing left to do but to announce it — it's gone. My sense of humour has deserted me. I have lost my funny bone!! Sighhhh...

How do I know that?? The book which has laugh out loud every minute as the tag line did not make me laugh, not a single smile, nary a stretching of lips. Sighhhh...

Holly finds texts on husband's phone from a Queenie with some naughty x-rated stuff and her doubts and suspicions start bubbling. The book follows the usual twists and turns, especially when the husband refuses to give her a warm hug. A cardboard hug is what he gives. (What's that you ask? When Sheldon hugs and says there, there vis-a-vis The Big Bang Theory and Sheldon's appeared warmer.) Sighhhh...

My second book by author Debbie Viggiano, and I had great expectations from it. I wanted to roll with laughter, but it was a pleasant read. I kept hoping that the book would pick up speed or interest, but it remained just a pleasant read. Last 20% of the book was good fun with secrets revealed, though I had already guessed with the cardboard hug. It ended as a pleasant read. Sighhhh.....

What I really didn't like were the dialogs of the husband and Holly's after-thoughts, especially
The doctor husband says about another woman to his wife, Holly

"She will be talking knowledgeably tomorrow, mingling with those who have suffered Trigeminal Neuralgia. But what exactly are you able to offer, Holly? An opinion of shade of nail polish you're wearing or the best shop to buy an evening gown"

That's what he thinks his wife does and his opinion about her level of intelligence, after years of marriage and with a 14-year-old daughter. But this is not the worst part, the wife in return goes into such realms of insecurity in the entire book that even with the texts and incomplete explanations, she believes she needs therapy and antidepressants, not the husband. He is just perfect. That put me off majorly. Sighhhh....

It might be me, but I think women can stand up for themselves and think logically, especially when the husbands are caught with sexts on cell which are supposed to be rantings of a patient. (There is something known as block and delete, if the patient texts constantly.)

What Holly's husband did is revealed in the end, and what the book revealed is my runaway humor. Sighhhh...

I received an ARC from NetGalley and publisher Bookouture, and this is my honest and unbiased opinion.

3.5 ⭐️

Holly's relatively happy fifteen year marriage to Alex hits a nasty speed bump when she discovers some disturbing sexy and flirtatious texts on Alex's phone. His explanation of it being a patient who has taken things too far seems plausible, however Holly cannot get it out of her mind. Who is sending Alex those texts? Is he having an affair? Holly plans to find out! She quickly becomes suspicious of almost every woman around her as being her husband's mistress, with some amusing consequences.

Throw in her best friends Caro and Jeanie who have their own drama to deal with, kids and a host of characters, some funny and some infuriating, and you have yourself a charming, fun, chic-lit read that was easy to get lost in until the unexpected end.

Many thanks to Netgalley, Bookouture and the author for an ARC in exchange for my honest opinion of this book.

It's not eays to be funny, but this author certainly knows how to make you laugh.
The book is full of humour and makes you realize that even if you have known people for several years, you might not know them as well as you thought you did. Life is full of surprises, but not all of them are good ones.
Who is sending those texts to Holly's husband? Come and join Holly on her journey towards the truth. Fasten your seatbelts, because it surely is a bumpy road.
No worries, because there is a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow and Holly, well, you simply have to love her.

This is yet another chicklit with suspicious wife. And she has every right to be so. Her husband is always tired after coming from his clinic and so they hardly have sex. She even joins Facebook to stalk her husbands account.

Each and every person in this book including her gay brother badger her about her non existent sex life. I mean why the fuck don't they mind their own business. I specially hated Jeanie. She wants all the details about Holly's life but when it came to her life she is secretive.

I felt many kind of emotions for Holly. First of all I felt bad for her because her husband was an Idiot. And then her daughter. She was so rude to her. Also I felt angry with Holly. She made so many stupid decisions throughout the book. I agree that she is surrounding with bunch of stupid people, but still.

What I liked was that the story was absorbing and the writing wonderful. Recently I have read really good book but the writing was kind of bland. So this was surprisingly nice. I'll be reading more from this author for sure.

Awful book

This book completely misrepresents itself. It's not laugh-out-loud, it's not romantic, it's not a comedy. It's a sad story of a woman who is betrayed on the deepest level by the two men who should have loved and supported her, namely her husband and her brother.

So, so bad! The whole shocker wasn’t reall a shocker and made the husband and brother suck deplorable people there was no coming back! So the face Holly forgave them was unbelievable! Not when you have a child with someone and the two people you trust most in the world lie and betray you so totally. A slight boring tale with not particularly likeable characters! Holly also needed to grow a backbone’

This was interesting until the end when the betrayal was glossed over and forgiven in 2 pages. Her husband did a number on her self-esteem and that is OK because he was suffering himself? And don't get me started on her betrayer!

Yes, I’m quite aware that this isn’t my normal sort of read at all. In all honesty, I tend to shy away from pretty much anything romantic or something that promises to make me laugh out loud. Which is like the evil stepsister of that twist you won’t see coming. More often than not, I do see it coming and don’t laugh out loud.

So why pick up something like this, I hear you asking? I don’t really know but let’s call it a broadening of the horizons, cleansing the palette, having a change of scenery, whatever. Truth be told, I actually really enjoyed this one. Go figure. You just never know.

Holly and her husband Alex have been married for fifteen years. Everything seemed to be going perfectly well until Holly finds flirty texts or “sexts” on her husband’s phone. Alex has a perfectly reasonable explanation but Holly isn’t convinced and she can’t forget what she saw. Of course Alex isn’t Mister Perfect but he’s Holly’s and if someone else has her eye on him, Holly is going to find out who it is.

Ever notice how when you think something is going on, everyone around you suddenly starts to act incredibly suspiciously? Holly is convinced her husband is having an affair but just when she starts to zero in on a viable suspect, someone else pops up who may be hiding a thing or two. All this does is fuel Holly’s belief something is amiss but is she on the right track though? One thing is for sure, flowers will most definitely not fix this one.

This has all the elements you’d expect from this genre. Unruly teenagers, a fabulous group of friends, a husband who isn’t exactly going to win any awards, a delightfully camp gay brother and of course, a dashing man to muddy the waters and a rather surprising conclusion. Despite the heartbreaking issue of infidelity, this still managed to be a fun, entertaining and enjoyable story. If chick-lit is your thing, then I have no doubt you’ll enjoy this one.

Perfect for those summer days by the pool with a yummy cocktail.

And in case you wondered, yes, I may have laughed out loud a few times. But you can’t prove it. 😉

This book (and the h) has a lot of comic zen but it's all wasted when profiled against the joy-sucking aspects of her very sterile and clearly dead marriage.
The ending is the biggest let down though.*

Why did she even stay in this marriage?
He's beyond just an ass.
Sex is boring and non-existent. Has been so since a decade and half.
He's an inattentive, distant, disapproving, disdainful, cheerless, gaslighting d-b; doesn't love or care for her; and is now openly flirting/sexting and more with someone else.
Actually he gets progressively more and more callous and cruel as the book goes on.
While she's sweet, appeasing and apologetic. And tries so hard.
Why waste all these years on him?
“Being too tired for sex was one thing, but since when was a husband too tired to give his wife a hug?”

Thank you to Netgalley, the author and the Publisher, Bookouture for this review copy, given in exchange for an honest review. Also thank you to Kim from Bookouture for organising the Blog Tour!

Holly Hart has been married for 15 years to Alex. She has the perfect marriage, although according to her best friends, Jeanie and Caro, Holly is lacking in quantity in the bedroom department. Embarrassed to find that her friends think this, Holly makes up that her and Alex have super red-hot sex more times that you can shake a stick at….but it does get her thinking that her sex life has diminished recently, if it was even there at all. To top it all, on Christmas Day Holly finds flirty texts on her husband’s phone. Whilst he has a perfectly reasonable explanation, Holly can’t help but get it into her head that Alex is having an affair…..she just can’t work out who with!

This is my first book by this author, and after reading it I’m thinking ‘why have I never read any of her books before!’ Be warned though, it does have a lot of references to sex and some mild bad language, so if that’s not your thing then it might not be for you.

The first chapter had me laughing so much that I thought it would be impossible to keep this up all the way through the book. But…it does!! The book continues on a fast and very humorous pace all the way through. Even with the subject of being unfaithful, the author manages to keep the humour up whilst handling it heart-warmingly and sensitively!

Holly’s character, I think, is absolutely fabulous! I do feel sorry for her when she reads the flirty texts as no woman would want to find proof of her husband’s affair, particularly on Christmas Day! She seems to handle the situation quite well, but does go slightly off the rails from there on seeing every woman as her husband’s anonymous mistress with very funny consequences!

This was such a wonderful and cleverly written book! I have honestly laughed my way through it from start to end! But it’s not all fun and laughs, it also has a lovely warming undertone to the story of love, family and friendships! I will definitely be finding more books by this author, because if they are anything like this one they will be well worth reading!

Fab!

Oh. My. God. Where the hell have I been hiding for god knows how long?! What Holly’s husband did was my first venture into a Debbie Viggiano novel and will not be the last. This book is laugh out loud funny!

This book has everything you could possibly want from a rom-com novel, gossip, drama, a good group of friends and of course, flirty text messages! But just who is behind the flirty text messages and why is Holly’s husband receiving them?

I couldn’t help but sympathise with Holly but I also couldn’t help but laugh at some of the things she comes out with. As I was reading I could really see Holly’s personality shine through. She had this quirkiness about her that I admire but on the same token, I was reminded of my partners mother! Please don’t tell her, I’ll be in trouble lol!

I have read every book of Debbie's and loved them all. I think this one is slightly more serious than her previous ones but all the same just as good. Holly and Alex have been married 15years. When she becomes very suspicious that her husband is having an affair. A couple suspects are one of her best friends or one of Adam's work colleagues who seems a bit too keen to stay beside Alex. Alex is an unlikeable character especially towards Holly. Most of the fun elements of the story come from Holly and her brother. A great read

This was the first of Debbie’s books that I have actually read but I can absolutely guarantee that it won’t be the last. I absolutely LOVED reading ‘What Holly’s Husband Did’ but more about that in a bit.
I took to the character of Holly Hart from the start. Her sex life with her husband has gone off the boil and Holly thinks that her husband Alex must be playing away from home. It’s the only reason she can come up with as to why things are a bit lacking in the bedroom department. She tries to keep up appearances with her best friends and insists that she and Alex are having knee trembling sex but the more she tries to convince them, the worse she makes the lie sound and she just ends up digging an even bigger hole for herself. Holly tries to find the evidence to prove Alex is up to no good but her attempts at evidence gathering leads her into some hilarious scrapes. I do think that Alex has taken Holly for granted and that the Harts are a family, who just don’t talk to each other. It doesn’t help matters that Alex’s side of the family don’t exactly take to Holly’s brother, who is just hilariously catty. I loved the tight friendship Holly has her with friends but at times I did wonder if the friendship was doing more harm than good in the sense of they are competing with each other to have the best life and can be very bitchy towards each other. Is Alex playing away or is there another explanation? What is the twist in the story? Well for the answer to those questions and more you are just going to have to read the book for yourselves to find out as I am not going to tell you.
Oh my, I haven’t chuckled away as much as I did whilst reading this book for a long, long time. From the moment I opened the book until the moment I finished the book, I found myself chuckling away at Holly’s antics and the fact that in a sense her attempts to sort things out were actually making things worse. Each time I turned the page, there was something new to laugh at. I have a very vivid imagination and whilst I was reading, I could just picture the scene in my head. Holly certainly got herself into some scrapes. This book really did cheer me up no end and it even made me forget temporarily about the chronic pain I suffer from.
This book is really well written and very funny to boot. The author’s writing style is such that you can’t help but be drawn into the story and before you realise what is happening you are hooked on the book and the page numbers fly past in a blur. That was certainly the case for me. Reading ‘What Holly’s Husband Did’ really did become an addiction and I just had to get my next fix of one more page, one more chapter and so on. ‘What Holly’s Husband Did’ is one of those books that you don’t want to end and you intend to ration yourself as to how much you read in order to prolong the length of time it is taking to read the book but you become so hooked on reading the book that your idea of rationing flies out of the window. I originally picked up this book only intending to read a couple of chapters but before I knew it I had cleared over 50% of the book. I was so into the story and I liked the characters so much that I genuinely didn’t realise how quickly I was reading this book. The characters are so realistic that I began to compare them to people I knew as I reckon that we all know a ‘Holly’. The scenarios that Holly finds herself are also all too realistic too.
In conclusion, I absolutely bloody well ADORED reading this book and I can’t wait to read what comes next from Debbie Viggiano. Here’s hoping that we don’t have too long to wait. In the meantime I am going to content myself with reading some of her other books. I just know that I will love them just as much as ‘What Holly’s Husband Did’. I would definitely recommend this author and this book to other readers. The score on the Ginger Book Geek board is a massively well deserved 5* out of 5*.

∼MY REVIEW∼

Wow wow wow. I literally devoured this book in two hours on my journey up to Edinburgh. I had to neglect my child while I was reading this - it's ok she had her colouring books and Barbie's! Although I did have to keep stopping to update my husband while he drove - not sure if he cared or not, I did make sure he knew what happening!!

This book has fast become one of my favourite chick-lit books, mainly because of the rollercoaster ride I went on, all the red herrings that are thrown up and how I didn't suspect who "Queenie" was until Holly did.

The story unfolds through Holly's eyes as we follow her through on the adventure of the mysterious sexter that struck Alex's phone on Christmas Day, with promises of rubbing him like a genie (I mean wow!)

Since that fateful moment, when Alex tried to palm it off as a misunderstanding, that it was a crazy ex-patient, Holly just couldn't let go, I couldn't let go either! I mean who was this woman!

Months following this, she is still pondering the text messages and playing detective. Leading on to some rather crazy facebook messages to one woman she suspects. Everyone in the book is under suspicion, and I loved the fact that you never knew who it was until the end. (Well I didn't guess but once I knew it seemed obvious) I was led in to a false sense of security by the author, as I was firm in my decision to who Queenie was, then the rug was pulled out from under me (not literally still in the car at this point) and I didn't have a clue who to believe....the next page I was back believing it was my original person.

As you can tell, the author misleads you countless times, which I thought was fantastic. It kept me on my toes, and as I said I devoured this book in a couple of hours. It made my jaw drop with conversations and actions taken, and quite a few times laughing so loudly, my little girl told me to stop as I was hurting her ears!

Holly's actions while playing said detective ends up affecting everyone around her, as so many lives come crashing down. Everything we know is linked in one way or another, as we got closer to the big reveal. The surprise 40th birthday party she throws for Alex was quite entertaining from an outsiders' point of view but heartbreaking too.

The one party that did make my heart break for Holly, was a function she 'demanded' to go with Alex too, she never normally goes and he is happy that she doesn't go. Her husband's behaviour and words were outrageous to Holly, although his behaviour is explained later, I did not think it was justified (hard to say too much without giving spoilers away!!).

All I will say about one of my favourite scenes in the book is 8 words - curtain tassels, marigold gloves and a bad back. Seriously, it was so bloody funny! You need to read the book to find out more!

Like I said, I devoured this book, I followed Holly on her discovery which she took to find Queenie, and in the end, she got much more than she expected! This is the sort of book I would love to be on the big screen!

OMG this book had me rolling around on the floor before I’d even finished the first page! It’s been a while since I’ve read any chick-lit, and this book really made me realise what I’ve been missing.

This first-person narrative has a linear structure with colloquial language that draws the reader in, making them feel they’re having a coffee with friends. And cake: there’s lots of yummy cake!

But underneath this laugh-out-loud novel is a heart-breaking story that makes the reader empathise all the more with Holly, the likeable protagonist. As Holly and her two besties share intimate details of their marriages, Holly conjures up a fantastical sex-life to cover up her husband’s sex-drive; or lack of it. It’s not so much that it’s dwindled; it just wasn’t there in the first place. But has it really dwindled? Is Alex topping up his bi-monthly love-life with his wife from somewhere, or more precisely, somebody else? Holly seems to think so. But just who is this mystery lover? Do they really exist, or is it all in her imagination? The clever clues are there, but I certainly didn’t see this twist coming!

But despite all of Holly’s trauma; true to its genre, there’s a heart-warming end to the story. And I turned the last page with a satisfying sigh of contentment.

This novel has all the elements of a good chick-lit: the writing style reminded me of Sophie Kinsella and April Hardy. The humour reminded me of Marian Keyes. I would recommend this hilarious book for anybody who’s had a stressful week and needs a good belly-laugh to share with this trio of besties.

This book has been given Literature Love’s below rating:
I absolutely loved this book and couldn’t put it down. I recommend you stop what you’re doing and go and buy this book now! As well as having all the elements of a four-star review, this book transcends its genre. The language is original and compelling; characters jumped off the page; and twists in the plot left me gasping. This rare and exceptional book will be put forward for Literature Love’s top 10 books of the year.

Not funny in the slightest!

I bought this having seen reviews saying it was hysterically funny. It’s not. I didn’t find anything even vaguely amusing in it, certainly nothing to roll around guffawing at.

Holly thinks her husband is having an affair. She suspects a couple of women, jumps to a lot of conclusions, questions her husband, he denies it.

Oops, am I repeating myself? It must be catching. Maybe the author had a word count to hit and thought a bit of repetition wouldn’t hurt? I don’t know... I didn’t really care in the end. I wanted to keep reading to find out whether the story got any better, whether there were any laughs and whether the denouement would be as I expected (it didn’t, there weren’t and it was) but I really wish I hadn’t - it just wasn’t worth it.

Holly is a neurotic idiot, Caro is largely flat and characterless, Jeannie has no redeeming features at all and the men are all equally charmless. Even Jack is two-dimensional.

If any of this plot still sounds appealing I have two words for you ‘superior bonk’.

Yes. Really. Who speaks like that? With their friends? About their sex lives?

I gave this book 2 stars because I felt mean giving it just one because the author clearly worked hard to write this but really, I just don’t want people wasting their money.

Holly's world turned upside down when she read a series of 'sexts' on her husband's phone. The explanation was flaky, to say the least, and Holly wasn't going to sit back and be walked over. She set about trying to find the mysterious 'Queenie' but the more she looked, the more suspects popped out of the woodwork.

As Holly's detective work progresses we are drawn into a maze of possibilities, getting more and more eager to find out just what is going on. Holly's paranoia leads to an absolutely rip-roaring ending you will not see coming!

I think everyone should have a friend like Holly, she was warm and witty yet willing to fight for her marriage. I detected the loneliness she felt. despite all the wisecracks, and just wanted her to be happy. Why couldn't she see that she was so much better than her vile, patronising husband?

I loved, loved, loved this book, it's hard for me to choose a favourite chapter because there were so many! I have to say though that I was chuckling about Jack's dental check up hours later and I will never see a pair of rubber gloves in the same way again!

It was a pure tonic and I will be adding Debbie Viggiano's other books to my 'must read list!'

This is an incredibly amusing story about Holly who discovers some potentially incriminating texts on her husbands phone over Christmas and then spends the next year trying to work out who on earth they were actually from in spite of repeated denials.

I found Holly slightly too neurotic for my liking, she was driving me mad and I couldn't understand why she was happy to stay in her relationship.

The chats she has with her two best friends are generally very funny, and there are lots of fun moments in the book.

It was her brother Simon that I loved the most with his overly camp ways and incredibly catty turn of phrase. He may have been a bit of a stereotype but I loved him for it!

Having read a few others from this author, I'm sorry to say I don't think its her best book, but it is still highly enjoyable and a good story.

Thank you to Bookouture and Netgalley for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

oh my god! What a book! What a page turner! I was hooked from page first to last page of this one! We know that Holly's husband, Alex is up to something but we don't know exactly what and if so with who and the doubt persist for the entire time until almost the last page. I loved this book so much! I rarely give a 5 stars out of 5 but this time, in my opinion this book deserves a 5 stars! I recommend this book warmly! It's very well written, the suspense is there and it's not a childish read. Perfect book!

I absolutely loved this book. Having read all of Debbie Viggiano's previous books I had high hopes for it and it truly delivered.

The characters in the book are larger than life at times, sometimes funny and sometimes infuriating, just what you need to keep the interest levels up. I particularly loved Simon (funny) and Jack (delicious mental images).

I'm already looking forward to the next book by this author. Escapism at its very best.

I absolutely loved this book. I thought I had it figured out, but each chapter ended with a cliffhanger. I could not put this down.

Holly and Alex have been married for 15 years. She then finds disturbing texts on her husband’s phone and suspects he is having an affair. Holly confronts Alex, in which he denies he is.

This is a laugh out loud witty novel. I highly recommend.

A book that sets out to be a romantic comedy but was really quite sad with the heavy manipulation and gaslighting carried out by Alex the husband. Sure there were some comic moments and good one liners thrown in and it was definitely well written. In fact I read this book quite quickly but it just wasn’t my cup of tea in terms of the mental anguish the protagonist was subjected to.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for this arc in return for my honest review.

This was an uninspiring read, which I had a hard time trying to comprehend the slang used in the book, is was off putting. Sorry I would have to give this book a fail.

Sad that infidelity can be the subject of humour. Torment more likely
