Great, quick read! It’s filled with incredibly useful information from cover to cover. With two young kids, my husband and I, once avid travelers, began to accept that we'd have to put traveling on the back burner because we just couldn’t afford it. I highlighted a ton of tidbits from the book that I plan to use for our next getaway. Each chapter is explained in such detail, that it's almost fool-proof. A few new lessons I took away were how to actually book a trip and pay it slowly, how to avoid airlines tracking my search to avoid price inflation, and I finally now understand how to get the most out of Google Flights. If you have a deep love of traveling, but you’re on a budget, this book will not only help you afford to book the trip, but also save you money when you get there.
Does a pretty solid job summarizing all the different hacks to get cheap flights, and how to plan trips better and the wealth of resources you can access. Time to focus on being alerted for more mistake fares!
I also genuinely did not realize there's a fancy service for shipping luggage to other countries outside airports. Now that luggage fees are getting to be $100+ per item on planes...lugless.com might be an interesting option in the future.
I definitely favorites the 9 sites for living and working abroad. you all probably know most of them. workaway etc.
This little book is a treasure trove of information! Its short, to the point and easy to understand. She also lists the sites and the how of how to get the max out of our time and money when it comes to planning trips. Best of all her advice doesn't apply JUST to frequent flyers or people with money! I could easily see how I could use these tips on a budget that works for me. Some of it relies on luck, but a lot is also just persistence and knowing when and where to look for the best deals and being flexible. I had knowledge of some of these things but I also learned a lot within these 80 pages. Highly recommend for anyone that travels a lot or is thinking about traveling soon!
I picked up thus book on Kindle unlimited because I want to start traveling. The author provides many tips, resources and advice on finding cheap flights, free travel apps, and ideas for increasing your income to fund your trip. I'll most likely re-read this book as I get closer to planning my next trip.
Although a lot of it was useful, the whole $50 flights thing is intentionally misleading. If you pay 3,000 rewards miles and $50 in taxes, that’s not a $50 flight.
Enough new info to make this well worth the price!
I actually highlighted lots of paragraphs and pages for future reference. The last chapter is about viable ways to earn extra travel money, with some useful ideas! While I did know some of the shortcuts, I learned some new stuff. Get the book, it will come in handy.
