Destiny.
I always thought mine was to ride with the Satan's Knights MC.
Mayhem and havoc surge through my veins.
Chaos dwells deep in my soul.
And in this life, the Devil don't sleep.
He often comes disguised as everything you ever wanted.
Like the girl who stole my heart and never gave it back.
The woman who twisted me so tight I turned my back on everything and everyone.
But six years later, nothing has changed.
It turns out she's my fate.
A fallen angel with tattered wings.
And I'm the one riding straight into the Devil's chapel to rescue her.

I’m a real sucker for a second chance love story and Janine Infante Bosco created a doozy when she wrote The Devil Don’t Sleep. It was full of angst, drama-filled, painful, and as usual from this author, full of so much heart.

At one time, Bas and Mac were two peas in a pod. You couldn’t see one without the other because they were virtually attached at the hip. They were so in love that they never envisioned a future that didn’t include the other, but hidden agendas and spiteful machinations tear this couple apart. Fast forward some years, Mac’s life is in danger and Bas feels responsible for her safety. But he’s now part of the Satan’s Knights and getting their help with her protection means laying claim to the woman who broke his heart. Luckily for Mac, Bas is willing to lay down his life for the only woman who has owned him, the only woman he has ever loved.

I don’t know if I’ll ever get over her.
If I’ll ever stop running after her, to her or from her.
If I’ll ever stop giving a damn.
- Bas

There was so much to love about this book, such as Bas. Man, I felt so bad for him. That prologue really set the tone of the book and had my heart breaking all over the place. And then it only made me hate Mac for pretty much the whole book. I was yelling at her, hating on her, and generally sending her bad vibes for most of this story. She’d say some ish to make herself out to be a victim and I’d scream.

All these years, I tried not to think about where he was or what he was doing. If he was happy or if he had met someone. As selfish as it sounds, I didn’t want to think of him with another woman. The idea of him settling down with someone else and possibly having a family with that person, devastated me. - Mac

When I read this, I couldn’t help but think… is she for real??? You had a baby with his brother while he was locked up and longing for you!!! See why I hated her for so much of this book? She was walking around with a chip on her shoulder and when Bas called her out on it and basically told her that he didn’t owe her anything (which was the TRUTH), she was the one acting like she was hurt. HE was the one who was betrayed. HE was the one whose heart was broken callously. HE was the one whose hopes and dreams were turned to dust. And then when her motives all those years ago were revealed, when she finally unleashed the truth, unfortunately it was too late for her to gain even an ounce of my heart. I wasn’t her friend. I wasn’t on her side and I didn’t care. Bas got all of my attention and my affection. He deserved it and kept right on earning his place.

I can’t forget about Ryder. I have such a weak spot for children in books, especially when done right and Ryder was impeccable. There wasn’t a thing about this child I would change. He was so sweet it was ridiculous. And when paired with Bas… these two owned me! I really wish there was more to this ending. It was over so abruptly, which is unusual for this author and I’m wondering if there will be more to their story at a future date. I’d like to see them with plans for their future aside from just loving each other and hoping for the best. Ah well, it was wonderful to be back in this world again and I was thankful once again for Jack. I can’t get enough of that man and can’t wait to see more of him and watch his story evolve. #PropertyOfParrish

The Satan’s Knights are back and wow are they back! Bas has been in prison and excited to get back home but with one look everything changes. We go on a wild ride with every page of this book. I cried, screamed and bit all my nails off and even threw my phone at one point! Mac i love her character so much I see myself in her! Mac’s strength is so overwhelming and her love just blows you away. If you love the other books of this series you will definitely love this one too! Bas has my heart! 5/5 stars

Sometimes we must let go of what was, appreciate what remains and fearlessly embrace what comes next.
They fell in love as carefree teenagers. A deep, abiding love. Then he goes off to prison and when he returns she's pregnant by his brother. With a broken heart and a lot of anger he goes to the NY chapter of Satan's Knights where he ultimately becomes the property of "Jack Bulldog Parrish." You've got to read the books about Satan's Knights to understand the significance of that statement. Fate brings Bas back home when his brother is killed and he has to protect the former love of his life. Or should I say, the only love of his life. There is a lot of miscommunication between Bas and Mac and at times I wanted to shake both. At the same time, it was one of the best love stories I've read. I loved Bas' relationship with his nephew and all the things that showed what a good guy he was. This one can be read as a standalone but you lose a lot of the background. There's no cheating and there is a HEA. Another book by this author that I will definitely read again.

Church is in session and believe me the devil is about to show you that life is no storybook fairytale. As you swing your leg over the beast of a Harley Davidson and head down the road of life with Bas and Mac you will be confronted by the past, the memories and the devil that holds tight to all their secrets. As you hit the tight curves and the rubber begins to slip on the gravel beneath you, just remember one thing, Property of Parrish will always have your back. The Devil Don't Sleep is about confronting your past head on, trusting in the people that you call family and discovering that to survive and move forward you have to find love and forgiveness deep within your soul. Their story was full of angst, drama, chaos and family. Be warned, Bas sure knows how to get your heart racing and light the fire within you. The heart wrenching drama of their past will at times consume you and cause you to shed a few tears. Bas and Mac's story is captivating and will hold you hostage to the pages from start to finish.

The Devil Don’t Sleep is my first book by Janine Infante Bosco. I own several of her books, but as a blogger, I tend to keep a very full calendar and unfortunately reading off my TBR often gets put to the side. So, when I was given the opportunity to read an advanced copy of The Devil Don’t Sleep, I jumped all over it. Now I understand what all the hype is about. Janine Infante Bosco writes passionate love stories that keep you entertained from beginning to end. The Devil Don’t Sleep is a second chance romance – and I don’t know about you – but I am a total sucker for second chance love stories. Bas and Mac have a lot of history and five years apart has done nothing except intensify their relationship, or that’s what Bas is expecting when he walks into his clubhouse after being incarcerated for his club. Only finding Mac, obviously pregnant, within his brother’s arms is not part of the plan. The only way Bas could deal was to not see her… them… So, he’s transferred to another chapter. Now, six years have passed and Mac’s in danger – a danger that extends to her only child, Ryder. Bas doesn’t hesitate to come for Mac and Ryder when he's apprised of the situation. Although the pair seem anything but friendly, fires still burn beneath the surface. When the two finally come together, they do so in spectacular fashion – Mac armed with the secrets of her past and Bas with six years of hatred – but can secrets and hatred triumph over true love? Well, you’ll have to read the book for the answers to that question…

In the meantime, I can tell you what I loved about The Devil Don’t Sleep. First, this book is packed with emotions: angst, heartbreak, unrequited love, anger, deep and consuming love…you get the picture. The story truly was a rollercoaster as readers experience a rapid succession of emotions. The Devil Don’t Sleep is told in duel perspectives and I loved that the first voice we hear is Bas, our hero. Of the two principle characters, I found myself more sympathetic towards Bas for some reason. However, my heart broke for Mac when she finally reveals the secrets that drove such a huge wedge between her and Bas. I am a huge fan of MC romance and while The Devil Don’t Sleep focused less on MC life than some that I have read, it still satisfied my need for this genre. And please don’t mistake my comment about focusing less on MC life… This book is absolutely an MC Romance. Bosco writes a story that captures you in its snare almost immediately. Although the pace was a little slow for me in a few places, overall its fairly consistent. The plot kept me guessing from start to finish and the unpredictability was another reason I LOVED the story. The characters – Bas and Mac had enough sparks between them to start a fire. While this story is a slow-burn, when the time comes for Bas and Mac to reconnect… WOW!

If you’re a fan of MC romance, you’ll definitely want to read The Devil Don’t Sleep. As I was new to Janine Infante Bosco, I can’t compare this book to one of her previous works. What I can tell you is that this is a great way to pass the time and that I intend to bump up the books that I already own that were written by Bosco to the top of my TBR… 😉

❤~🌟~❤ 4.5 “PROPERTY OF PARISH” STARS! ❤~🌟~❤

“I’ve been waiting a f*king decade to take back what’s mine.”

Eeeep! Church is officially back in session!

I first fell in love with Janine Infante Bosco’s big, bad Satan’s Knights upon reading book one, FROM THE RUINS, and this riveting second installment—Bas and Mac’s story—was FANFREAKINGTASTIC!

THE STORY:
Growing up in a family of outlaws, Sebastian “ Bas” Turner’s legacy was to ride and wreak havoc with the Satan’s Knights MC. But he discovered chaos of another kind when a beautiful, honey-eyed spitfire named Mackenzie stole his rebellious teenage heart. Their youthful, all consuming love burned bright, until a heartbreaking chain of events caused their starry eyed dreams to self destruct into a pile of ash, leaving them both in ruin.

Bas forfeited his freedom for the sake of the brotherhood but he lived for the day when he got out of the clink and was reunited with his girl. But when he was finally sprung, his whole world crashed down around him when he discovered that Mac was pregnant by his very own brother! The enraged and embittered biker severed ties with them both, transferred to the Brooklyn charter of Satan’s Knights and officially became the “Property of the Parrish.”

Now, 6 years later, Bas and Mac’s fates collide once again when danger summons this broody Satan’s Knights biker back home to La Grange, Kentucky after his backstabbing brother, Junior, is brutally murdered. His loathsome, bewitchingly beautiful ex is the last woman on earth he wants to spirit away to HIS Brooklyn turf for safekeeping, but with a target on her and his nephew’s back, courtesy of the Mexican cartel, duty and honor prevail!

Can the most deplorable sins be abolished ? True love rekindled? And will these two fiery kindred spirits be able to stay one step ahead of the danger that threatens to rip them apart forever? You gotta read to find out but you better buckle in tight because you’re about to embark on quite a tumultuous ride!

MY MUSINGS:
Ahhh…the devilishly blue eyed biker and his beautifully broken angel stole my heart and caused such emotional mayhem I may NEVER recover!!!!

Janine Infante Bosco EXCELS at penning high octane, heart-gripping MC romances that resonate deeply, and the gut-punching prologue in THE DEVIL DON’T SLEEP sets the stage for this emotionally explosive tale which at its core is about reconciling the past, finding the healing power of forgiveness, and fighting for the future with EVERYTHING you got!

But my oh my what a treacherous battle-zone it is because Mac and Bas have quite a TEMPESTUOUS history! These two former flames became unwitting pawns in a devil’s game, and as a result, the hurt they have caused one another runs so deep it’s anyone’s guess how their love will see them through!

Which makes for quite a tantalizing read because this story is positively TEEMING with palpable tension, heartache, edge of your seat peril, and combustible sparks from start to finish.

For me, every great book starts and ends with multi-faceted, appealing protagonists, and OMG…the character building here is PHENOMENAL!

For starters, Ms. Bosco totally nails the crass-talkin’, outlaw biker persona to a T!!!! Bas is DELICIOUSLY BADASS, with a hard, savage exterior and a sweet, marshmallow center! This uber macho MC man is just so ruggedly alpha, fiercely loyal and primally sexy he LIT ME ON FIRE!

I just loved being inside of Bas’s head, and getting a glimpse into his dark, tortured soul. And holy eff… talk about a biker who’s been through the wringer! I mean, seriously, there are few worst betrayals than your girl getting preggers by YOUR VERY OWN BROTHER and my heart ached mightily for the big guy. He may no longer be in prison but the iron bars around his wounded heart are as impenetrable as ever.

However, despite his fury toward this woman he’s loved his whole adult life, she still ignites his primitive, red-hot passions, and arouses a raw, elemental need to protect her and his nephew AT ALL COSTS!

“I’ll jump off a cliff for you. Run through fire for you. I’ll kill for you. Bleed and die for you.”

Speaking of little Ryder, I ABSOLUTELY ADORED the gruffly affectionate exchanges between Bas and Mac’s sweet, bashful 5-year-old boy. So prepare for some ovary exploding man-to-man bonding moments that will leave you swoooooning!

As for the heroine, I SO admired Mac’s strength, resilience, feisty spirit, aching vulnerability, and her unwavering motherly devotion to her son. The poor woman’s been to hell and back, and sure gives Bas a run for his money in the obstinate department. But…sob…once we learn the devastating truth about the scars that are embedded in her own wounded heart, and discover her harrowing personal sacrifice for the broody biker she still loves with every fiber of her being, it's SOUL-SHATTERING!

So even though both these characters were too stubborn and willful for their own good at times, I truly rooted for them to heal each other, body and soul! For despite everything, their passionate, eternal love for each other ALWAYS shines through. And as the danger escalates, so does their pent up passion...until it reaches a burning inferno that CANNOT be contained!

Overall, I was totally WOWED by this story! I was very satisfied with the pacing and the development of this romance as well as the execution of the action-packed MC plot. And just like with book one, the interaction with the close-knit Satan’s Knights brotherhood, helmed by their crazy AF Prez, Jack “the Bulldog” Parrish, was a true highlight! However, I do have one small quibble in regard to the resolution of the romance. While the MC storyline ends with a real bang, I felt kind of shortchanged by the abrupt resolution to the romantic arc. I felt as if we were left hanging a bit at the end, and even though it's clear that Mac and Bas wind up together, I would have liked a more full-blown HEA for this beloved couple after all they’d endured.

But I am sure that Ms. Bosco has WICKED GOOD plans in store for the rest of the Satan’s Knights, and hopefully we will get more happy updates on Bas, Mac and little Ryder in book 3!

BOTTOM LINE:
THE DEVIL DON’T SLEEP owned my heart and slayed my soul!!

A Must Read!

Unsatisfied, holding onto a memory of coulda-woulda-shoulda Bas takes his second chance and rolls the dice but will he win? Serving five years to protect his his club changes the one thing he holds dear and just for himself. Five years of hope and longing are ruined with just one look... his homecoming isn’t what he dreamt it would be and starts another five long years of wondering, pondering and second guessing. It’s a hell of his own making and yet when he receives the call he willingly returns into the fiery pits.

Mac has descended into her own personal hell yet her son is worth all of her suffering. At risk due to the actions of a cruel man she finds herself thrown into the arms of the only man that has ever made her feel safe. With the ghosts of the last weighing heavy between them can Mac speak her truth and let him see who she really is? Can Bas hear her words through his hurt? And can the Satan’s Knights keep the Property of Parrish safe?

This was a super fast sexy read that I could not put down. It’s angsty and sweet with characters that have suffered yet are open to trying again. It’s a second chance romance and set in a MC so what’s not to love! There is drama and a tad of violence but nothing too dark or dirty aside from the bedroom scenes. This was a great MC read I loved seeing more of the other brothers and the relationships between them going from strength to strength.

A four star I want to patch in read.

So far this is the shortest book... they are normally @400 pages but this one was only 208 but it felt longer as it was packed full of content.

Bas went to jail for his club for five years. For 4 1/2 his girlfriend was there any time she could be an when not she was writing. True young love. Until it all stopped. He gets out and finds out why she quit coming and he hit the road.

Now his brother is dead and his mother is begging him to come protect his ex and her son... they are in danger. His plan is to get the prospect to protect them and him stay away.

Mac will never forget the day Bas got out of jail and the way he looked at her without even looking at her eyes. She is hoping he will let her tell her side of the story but he hates her as much as he used to love her.

Full of heartache and love. There is a few triggers but it's only in her retelling and not too many details.

Another great book in this series and going to start the next book now

I always get super excited when I see that JIB is bringing out a new book and she hasn't disappointed me with Bas and Mac's story. I was so enthralled I devoured this in one sitting in the garden enjoying the sunshine.

Mac & Bas's story is so heartbreaking, its emotionally raw, gritty and complex. Not everything is always as it seems and they have both been put through so much. My heart broke for both of them. the love they had was one so powerful and real but they couldn't survive the outside influences that worked to destroy them and Bas spent 6 years hating Mac and them suffering apart.

You get to see the others from the Satan Knights MC you have fallen in love with, they have become family to us. You get to see more of what it means to be 'Property of Parish' they will protect each other to the ends of the earth with the devil at their heels no matter what.

Another great read from Janine Infante Bosco. This is one hell of a must read and she has become one of my favourite MC authors.

I LOVED BAS AND MAC! This story, like all of the author's stories, was emotional, gripping and sexy. I love a kind of second chance romance, especially when the characters have some serious history. Bas and Mac have just that. I absolutely love Janine's ability to keep me hooked from the first page all the way to the end, and I always hate when the story ends. I'm so immersed in this world she has created with her rough group of bikers, I look forward to diving into her books when they release! I always love catching a glimpse of previous characters too! I can't wait to ride again soon! This is definitely a must read!

I am so excited about this book, this Author, Property of Parrish and where Satan’s Knights MC all began!! I want to start at the beginning and read it all!!
Obviously this is my first Janine Infante Bosco book. But it DEFINITELY WON’T be my last!!!

This book has so much heart. Bas is sent away to prison and was in there for 5 years, then came out to find his life had changed and gone on without him. He decides to leave Albany, NY and ends up with the Brooklyn Satan’s Knights MC where he meets Parrish and learns what brotherhood and family is really about. There’s a death in is family, bringing him back to Albany. From there he ends up with a new responsibility that changes his life in many ways. I love Bas, he was such a good man!! Parrish and Satan’s Knights MC are a good family to Bas!! I want to read more about them and the history of this MC!! I’m so thrilled to have found this Author!!!

I highly recommend that you read this book, especially if you enjoy MC Romance!!

Get ready to go on one hell of a ride with the devil. Bas and Mac have been through enough. She has been abused and Bas took one look at her and assumed very wrong. He is her savior and they need to get back what they have lost. Heartbreaking read with a storyline that will not only make you mad as hell but will leave you feeling in awe. Awesome writing.

~~~~~~~~~~Tracy's ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Review~~~~~~~~~~
Wow! This book was so good. Bas and Mac have a tortured past but when she is threatened he races to her side. Regardless of their past he would always be there to protect her except when he wasn't. A history that will explode the secrets surrounding Bas once he finally opens up and lets Mac tell him what really happened and what will he do now that he knows the truth? Will Bas walk away again, can he walk away from the only woman who has ever owned his heart? Strong characters that jump off the page and into your heart. So much emotions and I was cheering for them all the way. Ryder just melted my heart. Highly recommend this book and especially this author. Amazing READ!!!
GOOD JUST LIKE ANY OTHER OF HER BOOKS. IT'S NOT PERFECT, OF COURSE. THE EDITING ISN'T PERFECT AND I DON'T CARE ABOUT THAT BUT....I REALLY DON'T LIKE HOW EACH COUPLE CONVENIENTLY "FORGETS" TO USE CONDOMS. THEY GO AT EACH OTHER AND IF THEY SOMEHOW REMEMBER THE LAST SECOND BEFORE, THEY DISREGARD COMMON SENSE AND CONTINUE (EVEN KNOWING THE SEXUAL HISTORY OF THEIR PARTNER IS QUESTIONABLE). THERE WAS ONLY ONE TIME WHERE IT WAS USED FOR AN UNPLANNED PREGNANCY (SO THAT DOESN'T COUNT AS IT IS IMPORTANT TO THE STORY). BUT FOR THE MOST PART I CAN GET LOST IN THE STORY AND ENJOY MY GUILTY BIKER FETISH ... BUT I JUST HAD TO TELL EVERYBODY ABOUT THAT ANNOYING FACT CAUSE IT'S BEEN BUGGING THE SHIT OUT OF ME FOR THE LAST 10 BOOKS. HOPEFULLY YOU DIDN'T THINK ANY SPOILERS WERE IN THAT.
We finally have the complicated, emotionally charged story of Bas and Mac. Bas became Property of Parrish later in the series and has stayed mostly on the outside of the club, until now. We find him needing to return home to his roots, discovering not only the reasons he doesn’t seem to get too close to his brothers, but also why no woman has been able to capture his heart. The story of Bas and Mac is given to us through flashbacks, we find out how it all began, and it was sweet and beautiful....then we find out how it changed. Their story is full of love, and heartache, misunderstandings and pain....but Mac needs Bas and despite the pain she caused him he won’t turn his back on her. As the story continues, those that are Property of Parrish just increase and we see moments of love, joy and laughter. But of course life never does run smoothly for the Satan’s Knights and you will sit through (or pace through) a good deal of suspense before getting to Bas and Mac’s HEA.
Janine once again wrote a emotional ride of a read! Mac and Bas had a past but events tore them apart, this story was full of angst and second chances. The flashbacks made the reader understand the power of the two characters their story. It was a intense and emotional read.
Oh my goodness!! So many emotions are evoked in this book. Mac is totally relatable character for me anyway and Bas is a bada$$. They have to confront their past and secrets together. At times I wanted to slap them both. Miscommunications keep them apart but with a death brings them together again. Emotionally charged book from start to finish.
Ms. Bosco is a master when it comes to MC romances courtesy of her multi-layered storytelling, juggling of numerous emotionally engaging storylines and a colorful and eclectic cast of characters who have become family. This latest installment is once again fueled by danger and revenge but is more focused on the second chance romance of a dynamic duo separated by fate trying to put past hurts behind them to make a future. Add in the Club President’s continuing mental health issues and you have a story that pulled at my heartstrings, played with my emotions, before rewarding me with a satisfying conclusion that still managed to leave me with a sense of foreboding.
Sebastian Turner grew up in the MC world with a father who was President of his Club and who instilled a sense of honor in Bas that made him a delicious hero who I was immensely drawn to. His mother’s a strong-willed woman who enjoys being the Club’s mama, but she’s a bit heartless too and has always treated Bas as if he wasn’t ever good enough. The best part of being in his Club though was his romance with Mackenzie. They were the perfect match, loving like nothing could ever go wrong...until it did. A five-year prison term to save the honor of his Club took him away from Mac and when he returned even bigger changes had occurred that devastated him and had him leaving his heart and soul behind. It was a betrayal that’s eaten at him every day since he left, had him desperately trying to erase her from his soul, but when danger befalls her he rushes to her rescue despite the anger still weighing on him. A road trip back to the Satan’s Knights leaves lots of time for talk as well as getting to know Mac’s young son Ryder. Rehashing past hurts leads to lots of pain, but also opens his eyes to truths that hurt him even more as the anger he’s held all these years was misplaced. Keeping her safe gives him a second chance to live the life he always dreamed of while in jail, gives him a chance to be the kind of honorable father his own parent was, and watching all the years of anger washed away made for an empowering story full of heartwarming words and deeds. Bas is a sexy biker who early on tries to keep himself isolated from Mac, but she and Ryder slowly burrow their way back into his heart. Reserved banter soon became more playful, more sensual, as Mac and Ryder pulled at Bas’s heartstrings. Bas wore his heart on his sleeve, was very open about his anger and guilt, and it endeared him to me as he beautifully balanced a tough guy exterior with a warm and caring nature inside that especially made me smile in his scenes with Ryder. On a whole he’s yet another of the Satan’s Knights that you can’t help but fall for, even when their drawing blood from their enemies.
Mac was once a carefree young girl full of energy and wildness, happy to be Bas’s girl as they set their hometown on fire. They were a perfect match and their love shown through every action. Mac was more than willing to wait for Bas to return home from prison but fate had other ideas. Bas’s brother and mother had their own agenda for the Club and unfortunately Mac got caught up in the war and ended up in hell. She endured her own prison sentence, losing herself along the way, but was rewarded by the birth of her son whose smile was infectious. While she’s always longed for Bas’s return, she’s angry too and doesn’t want to accept his offer of safety. But love for Ryder has her making a deal with the devil by returning to Brooklyn and the promised safety of the Satan’s Knights. Her time with Bas is full of talking, full of dealing with past hurts, but it also allows her time to find herself again. Her years without Bas led to a loss of self and I applauded her finally sticking up for herself here. The only thing that frustrated me about Mac was her not revealing her own truth long ago. Both her and Bas could’ve had their HEA long ago had she just spoken up. Despite that though I still found Mac a likable heroine who adored her son and was a strong support to Bas once they dealt with the issues overshadowing their crackling connection.
This was an engaging story from its powerful prologue that heartbreakingly depicted Bas’s pain to its cheer-worthy ending that reminded readers why you want to be “Property of Parrish”. It was a slow burn of forgiveness and acceptance for Bas and Mac with their sweet and sexy journey holding me captive. Heartfelt talks were perfectly balanced with scorching encounters that were reminiscent of their younger, wilder days. Their interactions were full of anger early on but as the story progressed their love and devotion had clearly come back to life...as had they. I don’t normally care for children in romances but Ryder was utterly delightful. He easily brought out Bas’s paternal side and I was charmed by Ryder becoming a mini-me. The best part of the story though, the part that permeates every installment of this series, is the brotherhood. These men would literally die for each other, almost have a time or two, and that unwavering support is the heart and soul of this series. The banter amongst these rough around the edges bikers is playful at times, a bit crass too, but it always makes me smile. Their support of each other comes from Jack Parrish who sees every biker, every person those biker’s claim, as a family member. He would sacrifice everything for this self-made family and the gruff President’s actions brought a tear to my eye. He’s clearly struggling with his own demons in this story and it’s a heartbreaking battle that he’s waging with himself that leaves me full of foreboding while waiting for the next installment in this series.
I received a copy of this book from the author/publisher to review for Stephanie's Book Reports.
Sometimes we must let go of what was, appreciate what remains, and fearlessly embrace what comes next. Bas was born to a family of outlaws, he was destined to ride with the Satan's Knights MC. with mayhem and havoc and chaos living deep in his soul, he learned the Devil don't sleep. You never hear him creeping and he often comes disguised as everything you ever wanted. He was just a teenage when he first showed, masquerading as the girl of his dreams. A whiskey shootin' spitfire who knocked him on his ass and helped him turn the town upside down. The girl who stole his heart with her smile and never gave it back. The same bitch who ruined me and turned my blood to ice. It has been six years since he turned her back on Mac, his family, and his club. He pushed her to the back of his heard, wrote everyone off and damned the Kentucky charter to hell. But where God built a church, the Devil built a chapel. Now, her life is on the line and it is clear he is still a sucker for her gorgeous chaos because he is the one riding to her rescue.
The Devil Don't Sleep is what I would call a second chance romance with twists and turns and excitement. If you have read any of Janine Infante Bosco's previous books, you know exactly who the Sttan's Knight of Brooklyn are and what it means to be property of Parrish. Get ready to see what those guys and gals have been up to, too. This is the story of Bas who went to prison for five years. He took the fall and he had a good woman by his side. He also had a great father who was the head of the chapter he belonged to but the has the awfullest mother you will ever meet. You guys are going to hate Milly with a passion. I so wanted to slap the face off that woman so many times. I am still all steamed up about what kind of mother she is.!!! Grrr. When Bas was a teenager he fell in love with Mac and she is is everything. They have been through basically everything two people could go through together. Suddenly though Mac stopped writing and coming to the prison to visit but Bas knew hard it was on her to come to see him locked up. He though was expecting her to be the one to pick him up but she wasn't. When he walked into the clubhouse he hopes she is the first person she sees and she is only he is not expecting what he finds and he packs his bags and heads to Brooklyn. Six years later though the call comes from his Uncle that Mac is in danger and she needs him. But Bas isn't stupid, however he is one to follow he gut packs a bag, gets on his bike and returns to the one place he swore he would never go again. Kentucky. I am not going into details of this story as it is so much more than what I just told you and you need to experience it for yourself. I loved Bas and Mac and how they are around each other. I'd love to have a conversation with my eyes with a man. How romantic and how well you would have to know each other. It was just a magical moment for me. I loved seeing all the Satan's Knights guy and gals. I loved the laughs from Riggs but most of all I fell in love with Ryder. I bet you do!!! There is just no way that you can not. If you love MC excitement with a family atmosphere and unlike any other club that you will read about then you do not want to miss this book. Plus it is a second chance romance that will have you devouring every single word. No one does a love story with a bang like Janine Infante Bosco. Don't miss this book, or if you have never read anything she has written she has fifteen other books and you can start them just anywhere you want to.
THE DEVIL DON'T SLEEP is kind of a spin-off of the original Satan's Knights MC series as it does have interconnected characters. It can be read as a standalone though!
Sebastian (Bas) is a guy who's used to the outlaw MC scene. After all, his entire family has been tied to the Satan's Knights his whole life. Before a stint in prison, he was head over heels for Mackenzie (Mac). They loved each other fiercely but a brutal betrayal tears them apart. Six years later, Bas is called to rescue Mac and her son from the cartel.
There's a lot of secondary characters in this story but even if you've never read any of the Satan's Knights books before, there won't be any problems jumping right in. All of these players help to convey a very strong message...family doesn't have to be blood. And that's what I love and respect most about all of the stories connected to the Satan's Knights. This one has a little less angst than some of the others but it also focuses heavily on the relationship between Mac and Bas.
Their romance is slow burning but make no mistake, it's still freakin' hot! Bas is your typical hot biker alpha...allll male. But sweet in his own way and when he accepts Mac and her son, he loves fiercely and loyally. Mac is such a strong woman. She went through a lot, was a victim of so much violence but she still stood strong for her son and that's an admirable trait. I LOVED these two together! Even though they fought half of the time, they obviously fit like pieces of a puzzle.
It was great reading about some of my favorite characters and catching up with them. But Bas and Mac found a place in my heart and a spot on my READ AGAIN E-SHELF! Told from dual POVs with a happy ending (for now...let's see where Ms. Bosco takes the Satan's Knights next!). I voluntarily read and reviewed this book.
Anything goes when you're Property of Parrish, and it just so happens that extreme angst is at the center of The Devil Don't Sleep, so my emotions were on high alert throughout this story. Bas knew that Mac was it for him, and he never even looked at another woman, so when he got out of prison, he couldn't wait to see her again. Unfortunately, things changed while he was gone, and it shatters his world completely. And that's how he ended up at Jack Parrish's Satan's Knights, but it broke his heart so completely, he was just on the outside of Jack's chapter. However, when Mac got caught in the crossfire of something dangerous, Bas returns to Kentucky to rescue her and her son. This story started out with heart break, and I swear that my heart kept hurting throughout. Normally I'm always Girl Power, but in this instance, I was on Bas' side from the get go. However, Mac grew on me, especially since I didn't know the whole story. Yeah, the brilliant Janine Infante Bosco completely transported into this amazing world once again, so it's like I'm talking about my friend's lives. The cast of secondaries was amazing of course, as I fell in love with the majority of them in previous books, but the tiny human named Ryder totally stole my heart. And yeah, I said that angst was the centerpiece, but that doesn't mean there weren't some twists that forced the f-bombs to drop, with a side of some heart racing action. I LOVE this series, and I honestly hope it never ends, although I know that's a pipe dream. Anyway, that's enough gushing out of me, and I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!
Sebastian “Bas” Turner has an interesting way of working things out. He shows the non-glamorous side to being in an MC. Mackenzie “Mac” has let herself be bullied but is finally ready to stand up for herself. She’s in trouble just because of her association with his family.
This is a second chance at happiness but a lot has to happen first before love can even enter the picture. Part of that picture includes her son. He seems adorable and one I looked forward getting to know as the story rolls on. Another character I loved getting to know was her Nana. She reminds me of my own grandmother – her spirit animal would have to be a bear.
Our author gives us plenty of drama – well we can’t expect our main characters to fall in love at first sight after everything they went through. Our author creates plenty of angst – loved the banter going back and forth between these two plus the heat coming off the page. And our author creates plenty of suspense – what’s going to happen with Mac and her son? What’s going to happen between Bas and Mac? This author always has me looking forward to her next MC book. I never know what to expect and I eventually get so hooked that I forget everything else and hate when I have to put it down for any reason. And I also love watching a man crumble – even as the woman gives him what for. This book has left me wanting more especially since the ending felt as if things weren’t finished.
I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
The Satan's Knights ride again and what a ride it is! Even the devil can't stop Jack Parish from claiming and protecting his property.
Bas has just finished his prison sentence and looking forward to be reunited with the love of his life. What he finds is totally heartwrencing.
Mac has been putting up with a lot of obstructions from certain members of the club during Bas' absence. Unfortunately, everything takes a turn for the worse before his release, and what he sees isn't what it appears to be.
In his distress, Bas leaves his club to join Jack Parish in New York. He is just about existing for the pain that he is going through is unbearable. When he receives a call from home about Mac being in danger, he does the honourable thing. He isn't happy about the situation, but past history wins. Their second reunion is as awkward and as painful as the first one. The difference is that this time he gets to hear Mac's story after stalling for so long. What he learns is brutal and heartbreaking. Can they pick up where they left off or will they continue to resist their true feelings?
I have enjoyed this series from the first one and must admit that Bas' and Mac's story goes a step higher. It's a tangled plot which is slowly unravelled to get to the bottom of all the misgivings and come to a more than satisfying conclusion. Ryder adds so much more to the story. It's action packed with all the right ingredients for a fabulous read. Fantastic!
I was kindly issued with an eARC and the views expressed are my personal opinion.
I received an ARC to read for an honest review of this book.
I loved this story. As a matter of fact, I stayed up until 2:00 am to read and would have stayed up longer to finish the book, but decided I needed some sleep, luckily, I started reading on a Friday night into Saturday. The pages just kept turning while reading this book. I love Bas and I had to find out what was going to happen.
This book was very well written and the characters were very well rounded and came off the pages for me. I had read Loner, of the Nomad Series, so I knew a lot of the characters in this story. I really like how the Satan’s Knights of Brooklyn are a real family and they watch out for each other. It makes the book so much more enjoyable to read. I love Jack and his craziness. He makes these stories fun to read. Bas is such a strong character and to read his story was great.It was nice to watch Mac find herself again and be the woman that Bas loved at one time. I was happy to read their story and have them find each other again and work out their past. I love Ryder too. He’s such a great little boy. I love how Bas is such a different person from the members of the Kentucky MC. He has a heart and his own mind.
I give this story a 4.5 star review and I highly recommend it to anyone who likes to read MC stories or romantic suspense. I look forward to more stories of the Satan’s Knights MC.
MC books typically aren't my go-to genre, but every now and then I like to try something different. The cover and blurb for The Devil Don't Sleep really jumped at me so I decided to give it a try.
Being new to Janine Infante Bosco's writing, I was pleasantly surprised at how easy I fell into the story line. The opening chapters definitely sucked me in and I became so engrossed in Bas and Mac's story, I didn't even realize I was nearing the halfway mark. I really liked Bas from the get-go, the love he had for Mac, being locked away for years only to discover things weren't as he'd hoped upon his release. But, as I neared the halfway point, I felt that Bas lost a lot of his grit. The story seemed to lull a bit.
Overall, I did enjoy The Devil Don't Sleep and it certainly picked up with lots of excitement towards the end when the guys began to pull together. There's nothing better than the bond and brotherhood that the guys share. I have to add too that the way Mac cared for her son scored extra points with me.
I'm glad I gave this one a try and it really opened my eyes to a genre that I'm going to be reading more of. Janine's writing is definitely geared for the MC style and that in itself is a plus.
Amount of sex 3 / 5
How explicit is the sex scenes 3.5 / 5
Story 4.5 / 5
Overall: 4.5 / 5
The Devil Don’t Sleep is another book in the Satan Nights MC series and can be read as a standalone romance. I love all of Janine Infante Boscos MC series, and several of the characters are from her earlier novels. To gain a better foundation, you may want to read The Tempted and Nomad series first. Just know that it’s not necessary. Reading the other series will help you understand the background information and to fully comprehend being considered the Property of Parrish.
The Devil Don’t Sleep tells the story of Bas and Mac. They were in love living in Kentucky, but Bas was sent to jail for 5 years which made it difficult for the two of them. On the day of his release, Bas returns to his MC clubhouse and sees a pregnant Mac with his blood brother Junior. Feeling heartbroken, Bas leaves town and ends up in NY at Jack Parrish’s Clubhouse in Brooklyn, NY. Years later he gets a phone call from the Kentucky chapter asking for Bas’s help.
The story is suspenseful and exciting, and I had a hard time putting my Kindle down. A definite add to your TBR list!
Carla's Five Star Review
Buckle up Beotches! The Satan's Knights are back and better than ever!!
The Devil Don't Sleep is Bas and Mac's story. It isn't filled with fluff and romance. Their story is raw and real. It's about loss. It's about pain, but, most of all, it's about finding the strength to move on from your past. While Bas and Mac are the main focus of this story, all of our other favorite Knights make an appearance, and, let me tell you, I love those crazy bikers so much! They are so much more than an MC. They are family. They are Property of Parrish.
Gah! What a great read! This story has it all-family, friendship, love, laughter, loss, and loyalty. Of course, it wouldn't be a Satan's Knights novel without a little danger and suspense. I fell in love with Bas and Mac from the beginning and kept my fingers crossed throughout the story hoping they would find their happily ever after.
If you haven't yet discovered this amazing series, you really are missing out. My suggestion? One click them all! I promise you will be glad you did!
Antes de tudo, eu tenho que admitir uma curiosidade: como eu escolhi esse livro para ler e resenhar. Quando você escolhe novos autores para ler, várias coisas podem ser levadas em consideração. Capa, sinopse, indicação de um amigo, uma resenha, anúncio, e diversos outros métodos. Nesse livro, o meu foi um pouco não convencional! Achei uma autora com o mesmo nome que o meu! Vocês tem ideia do quanto é raro achar outra Janine? Quase impossível! Ao ler o nome da autora eu não resisti e escolhi esse livro para ler e resenhar. E que grata surpresa isso foi! Um livro envolvente, personagens bem desenvolvidos, suspense no nível certo e um romance de segunda chance super crível. Além de uma criança super fofa para você se apaixonar. Mesmo este sendo o quinto livro da série, não me senti perdida na história e todos os personagens já pré-existentes foram bem apresentados. Se você gosta de livros de MC, com toda a camaradagem e violência que existe nesse gênero, eu super recomendo a leitura!
5 Stars
With every single book, I become Property of Parrish more and more. I loved every minute of Bas and Mac’s love story. It’s not one for the faint of heart, but if you are a lover of second chance romance, then this one is right up your alley! Bas and Mac thought they had a love to beat all loves, until everything falls apart. It amazes me how much miscommunication can ruin things and make things seem not as they are.
But even after ten years apart and after the ultimate betrayal, Bas will drop everything to still protect her.
The Devil Don’t Sleep is everything I’ve come to love in not only an MC romance, but an MC romance from Janine Infante Bosco. She does another amazing job of bringing out the good, the bad, and the ugly and spinning it so we are kept on the edge of our seats while pulling so hard for the people in question to get their happily ever afters.
