As I come to the conclusion of The Mulligan Sisters series, I am sad to part ways with the Mulligan family. At times, it felt like I was right there with their family, they seem so real. This series was set in the 1940's, during World War II, and being that I love history of any era, I really enjoyed learning more about that era. One of the things that I really liked that the author did was, that, the titles of the books coincided with the plot of each story, and at the end of each story, she ended the plot with the characters singing or stating the words of the title. As a matter of fact, each title was the name of an actual song that was popular during that time. I had to look up the songs, and I loved them, and bought them. They were songs sung by popular artists such Vera Lynn, Frank Sinatra, etc. along with big bands like Glenn Miller. Whenever I listen to these songs, I will think of the Mulligan sisters and their family, their struggles and yet they triumphed throughout the war years.
I highly recommend this book!
