Butterflies can fly. Can a cat do that? Find out in this Ready-to-Go! Ready-to-Read filled with Eric Carle’s iconic art style.
Perfect for kids at the beginning of their reading journeys, Can a Cat Do That? was written for children who have learned the alphabet and are ready to start reading! And what better way to get kids excited than with a fun story with words they can actually read by the one and only Eric Carle?
Each Ready-to-Go! Ready-to-Read includes a note to parents explaining what their child can expect, a guide at the beginning for readers to become familiar with the words they will encounter in the story, and reading comprehension questions at the end. Each Ready-to-Go! story contains about 100 words and features sight words, rhyming words, and repetition to help children reinforce their new reading skills. In this book, readers will learn twelve sight words and four words from two word families.

Carle was also a U.S. nominee for the biennial, international Hans Christian Andersen Award in 2010.
A cat can do things like drink or run, but can't fly like butterflies. There are questions for children at the end of the book. After reading the story, they have to answer a few questions, to check if they have read the book correctly. Nice book for children :)
Great introduction to ready. Love the being where it instruction the kids and their parents about the sight words, rhyming words, words to sound out before they begin reading. Every thing a "ready-to-read" book should be. Plus... ERIC CARLE!
A good easy reader from Eric Carle, with his signature illustrations. I do wonder if young kids might be a little confused by seeing jaguars, cheetahs and other larger cats as "cats."
Purr-fect for beginning readers! One line of text per page. Bold print. Picture clues. Repetitive text. And Eric Carle's delightful art. Wow! A winner!
This book essentially just asks and answers if a cat can do certain things (fly, run, climb, etc). Could be fun to ask the kids each question and have them shout out the answers for Toddler Tales.
Will be great for my kinders, and more fun for intervention kids to read when working on rhyming and word families, while still getting great illustrations and an engaging story.
