The age difference between the characters still throws me off a little bit, but I can keep reading because the manga is actually sooo pure. The subject is treated as aserious matter, our male mc never ever ever takes advantage of the little girl, he does his best to stop the romantic feelings, he doesn't succeed of course, but he tries all the time, he puts limits and he treats her like the minor she is. I obviously know where this is gonna go, but it's nice to see that this story has a problem as a plot and it's not a problematic story.
While there were a few moments here and there that I thought were just okay in this volume, for the most part, there was enough stuff to make me still feel very invested and giddy.
I'm not sure if I'm a fan of the drama and plot being added. I think I would've been happy if it was just these small moments that developed relationships and bonds with all the characters. But the art and characters are fantastic either way, so I'm sure it'll be entertaining and worth the trouble.
Cute.
I like the development of the side characters, love getting to know them. my favourite part of the book was getting to know asako more, but just seeing where they work and more of the other characters is the best part. wish juni ex or whatever she is was not mikos homeroom teacher all of a sudden, just feels weird

Some action's finally ramping up! Matsunaga-san has some sort of heartbreak drama with an ex-housemate and ex-girlfriend who's probably Meeko's cute new teacher, whom Meeko just told about the older housemate she's in love with...and Meeko and Matsunaga-san are planning to go on Not A Date to Disneyland.
I'm a little frustrated that as much as I want to be rooting for the two of them, I'm kinda coming up dry on the chemistry so far. They just don't spend enough time talking to each other like normal human beings; if all you do is blush and stutter and yell every time you're together, what kind of a relationship are you actually building here?
The 4 stars is really for all the other relationships that finally got some space in this volume. I want to know more about Hattori's best friend and longtime boyfriend, whom she's having some drama with, and I liked finally getting to see the sad, lonely, insecure side of the beautiful (and divorced!!) Asako, who came to the boarding house after her husband was cheating on her. I'm turning out to really like Ken, too, who's a bit of a sleazebag when it comes to women, but he's thoughtful and intuitive and gives good advice. His conversation with Matsunaga-san really made Ken feel like the more mature one.
And Ryo's turning out to be a nice surprise! I like that he's actually forming a comfortable sort of friendship with Meeko, where he accidentally became a confidante about her feelings for Matsunaga-san. He's quiet and grumpy but seems like a really good guy who can be trusted with secrets, and it's just nice to see Meeko actually communicating with other people.
The trip home was funny...more shoujo drama with Matsunaga-san calling her to be all "I miss you when are you coming home" when she was gone for like. One day. C'mon.
I'm not sure I'm going to end up sold on the romance, but the art and character designs are pretty, and I'm enjoying all the housemate bonding. More of that, please.
A little weirdness with Meeko's 28 year old teacher encouraging her student to be brave and try dating her 28 year old housemate. Look, I know that's the point of this series, but...I don't think a teacher would actually give that kind of advice?? Especially to a student she's literally just met? I'm curious how that dynamic's going to develop and if Meeko and (presumably) Matsunaga-san's ex-girlfriend will become friends.
There's also a tease that Matsunaga-san is considering moving out of the boarding house, but considering we're on Volume 4 out of 11, I assume that won't be happening for a while.
So the invite to his room was innocent after all, but aw, he gave her a present too! So does he or does he not want to kiss her?
When she goes home to visit her family, and he calls because he misses her, my heart melted. But then he sees her talking to Ryo about her work schedule and thinks they are dating. Kentaro tries to point out that he wouldn’t be jealous if he didn’t like her, but he denies it.
Later Kentaro and Ryo both try and get him to admit his feelings to no avail. Meeko overhears this, and finds out that he has some history with someone named Konatsu-san who used to live in the boarding house. She also hears Matsunaga say that their upcoming trip to Kittneyland (Disneyland) isn’t a date, but work related, which is not what Meeko wanted to hear.
Later on, Matsunaga starts to get sick, and Meeko rushes to take care of him. After he seems to have fallen asleep, Meeko is replaying the words of encouragement from her teacher in her head, and Meeko ends up kissing him on the corner of his mouth. We then see that he was actually awake for this. This is how this volume ends.
Another development in this volume is that Asako is depressed that her life seems to be going nowhere, and that she was married and divorced before coming to the boarding house. Meeko and Ryo cheer her up after she divulges this information to them.

Eeeeek that ending!! Now I have to wait for volume 5 (I’ll be ordering it)!
I loved this volume—the jealousy, that ending, the slow progression of this slow burn! I’m a little nervous about what was introduced in this volume, but I’m also excited for how it’ll affect the MC and her love interests’ relationship going forward.
Also, love that everyone can tell how crazy they are about each other. Funny how at first I was like “hmmm the age gap” and now I’m just like, “please, I want it all.”
Whole series review - A slow-moving series that kept me reading as fast as I could.
The art is stunning and I really like all the characters. I loved the little side plot that involved two of the roommates getting together. So cute!
Ryo-kun deserved better! I honestly wouldn’t have minded if Meeko had gotten together with him! In fact, I would’ve preferred it!
The age gap was really uncomfortable... no excuses there. I know it’s fiction and things work differently for different cultures, but to me; it was gross.
This book just gets better and better. The artwork is gorgeous! The story is wonderfully sweet and just the right amount of angsty. New developments are moving the story forward and I expect that we will see more growth from Meeko. So far, Meeko has been a very cheerful, innocent girl but I think soon she will see more of that "grown up" world that she keeps referring to. As a bonus. The ending was AWESOME. Love this story.
