***Actual rating: 3.5/5 Contemplating Stars***

Since I thoroughly appreciated the author’s first poetry collection, Invitation to Poetry, I said yes without hesitation when he asked me to read and review the second book.

There were slightly more poems in Alignment of Thoughts, which, by the way, was such a beautiful title for a book, and once again, the author found inspiration in the world around us—from Mother Nature to human emotions—prompting me to ponder while reading.

Among the 74 poems in this book, here are my top 3 favorites:
[meanings]
the ladder that
rises from the earth
up to the sky
seemed an unreal thing
i started climbing
neither could be seen
where i left from
nor could i see
where i would get
this ladder
may not have risen
from the earth to the sky
but maybe it was descending
from the sky to the earth

[tree hole]
trees have an age
drawn in their souls
in the form of concentric circles
circles where
planets in the galaxy of the tree gravitate
for those living there
a black hole seen as a passage to another world
is what we call
a tree hole

[a lifetime like a moment]
the past is the memory
and what will be is the desire
when memories
meet desires
a moment is born
and this is all that matters
the rest is fantasies
gravitating
around this moment

Generally speaking, I had a good time enjoying Alignment of Thoughts; however, if compared to Invitation to Poetry, I admitted that I didn’t resonate with the contents in this book as much as I did in the first one. Don’t get me wrong, the words were still beautifully chosen and lyrical, but the problem I encountered was that I saw the words and grasped the meanings WITHOUT really feeling anything or getting connection with the poems themselves.

Despite the lack of emotions I felt while browsing through this book, I would still recommend it to anyone who’d like to have a quick, light-hearted read! Poetry is and will always be a work of art for me so I hope you’ll find the beauty in it as well.

***Thanks to the author for kindly sending me an e-copy in exchange for an honest review.***

After reading 'Invitation to Poetry'
My expectations were high from this book. And this did not disappoint me a bit.
This is another quick and simple read. But the author really makes you wonder through this books. This book talk about places, live, nature. It's really wonderful. You really connect to the poetry.
My favorite ones are :
Fancy
Lonliness
Just period
Reciprocity
In the wind
Co existence
Brpwsing tbrough a book
Idea about thoughts
Kiss without words
Sentenced for execution
Tears
Author is really good with words without making it really hard and twisty unlike other poetry books. Author really lures you into this book.

Review on my blog. Link in bio.

Thanks to the author for offering me this collection of poems to read and review.
This is the second poetry collection of the author I've reviewed. Same as the first one, I love how easy to understand these poems are. There are a lot of methaphors, but nothing that gets you stuck. For a beginner I would highly recommend these poems.

coexistence

the light can coexist
with the darkness
this is how
sunrise and dusk is born
life can coexist
with death
and that is how
suffering and agony haunts us
only love
can coexist
with love only
and that is why it is
so pure

Loved it! Thank you Mihai for these beautiful poems.

Another short, sweet and thought provoking collection of poems from this author. Although I enjoyed this, I didn’t feel like this set of poems were as good as his first work, Invitation to Poetry. Having said this however, there were a couple of poems which really resonated with me including: Ascension and Co-Existence and in general it was a quick and emotional read. I look forward to see what the author writes next.

Many thanks to the author Mihai Brinas for sending me a copy of his book in exchange for an honest review.

When I read Mihai's first poetry collection, Invitation to Poetry, I connected with a lot of the poems, but some flew over my head as well. This time around, they didn't flew over my head, although I didn't connect with them as much as in his previous poetry collection either.

As I said then, poetry is such a subjective thing. Opinions can be extremely different when you're comparing people. However, that does not mean I didn't enjoy these.

Mihai succeeds at writing thought-provoking poems that make you want to take a couple of minutes and think them over, even reading some a couple of times over to make sure you grasp everything there is to grasp.

I felt like there was a multitude of poems focused on nature / the universe as well and I loved that. The focus on love was, again, present as well. The combination makes for a couple of beautiful poems.

4 / 5!

Another beautiful collection of poetry by Mihai Brinas! After reading his first collection I was blown away with how beautifully written the different poems were. Once again, he blew me away with these thought provoking works of Art! I would read anything Mr. Brinas writes! Hands down a 5 Star poetry collection!

Alignment of thoughts speaks volumes within these pages. Mihai Brinas has written an amazing collection of short poems that will sweep you off your feet! Some of my favourites are "Old and New", "flood", "I really dont know" and I mostly found myself highlighting the whole book🤭!
OLD AND NEW
"the field full of powder
of past glooms
is the place
where i meet
the one that seems
so lost
standing on the bank of the lake
which like a broken glass
Seems like a starving animal
with open mouth
I offer her a book
which lightens her eyes
and tell her that in the wasteland
she will not find what she
is looking for
she stood up and went away
having an old book in her hand
and a new hope in the soul"
This made me tear up. I'd rate this collection 3.5 stars, while most did resonate with me, I found some didn't. However, if you are looking to swim in emotions from these beautiful short poems, GO FOR IT! Thank you to the author for providing me with a copy for an honest review.
IN THE WIND
"out of playfulness
the wind is blowing the pages
of a poetry book
forgotten open
on a bench in the park
it turns the pages
with its breeze
as if reading
then full of poetry
the wind begins to recite
verses of love
to lovers' ears
walking through the park"

Once again, poet Mihai Brinas paints a beautiful portrait of words like a field filled with flowers bursting with their own kind of beauty. With each short poem, the reader is invited to read and discover their own meaning or connection that make his words personal and relevant. From brief tales of romance to social commentaries that are neither scathing nor bland, with just a few well-chosen words this poet gives a special atmosphere to fall into and enjoy.

Poetry is meant to move a person into another place for a brief, yet meaningful moment. Is it better to devour the entire collection in one sitting or to sample a tiny bite when the moment strikes? Either way, unlike a novel, re-reading a favorite poem or verse takes only a minute or two and will send the reader into another opportunity to discover even more personal meanings, connections and interpretations. Read this, feel this, you'll thank Mihai Brinas for sharing his gift and his ALIGNMENT OF THOUGHTS!

I received an electronic copy of this book from the author through a giveaway he recently had on LibraryThing and the following is my honest opinion.

This is the second book of poetry I’ve had the privilege of reading by this author. And once again I’ve been taken away by the individual’s mastering of the English language, as it’s not his primary language, Romanian is.

Poetry is definitely not as simple to write as non-fiction or any genre of fiction. One of the main reason is that you don’t have same amount of space to effectively paint the image in a reader’s you’d like to communicate, a space in which what you’ve written needs to be encumbered with any desire emotions you’d like in include.

In reading this collection of poetry, I once again found them to be quite thought-provoking making it difficult to simply and then move on to the next poem, which is why I’m giving this poet, Mihai Brinas, 5 STARS for his endeavor here; along with a bouquet of roses.

As you should already know I loved his first poetry collection and this one was no different it was wonderful as well.

Favorite quotes:
“Caught in a trap i do not want to get away from”
“Make us more silent to speak”
“When life seemed like an eternity to me”
“Only love can coexist”
“If it does not sleep and always runs-“
“Birds soften their gaze in the color of our eyes”
“The past is a memory”⭐️

Favorite poems:
Without escape
Past time
Discoveries
Seconds like years⭐️⭐️⭐️(LOVE this one)
Coexistence
The wind⭐️⭐️
Ascension
A lifetime like a moment⭐️⭐️⭐️

Lets face it everything is beautiful and I need more poetry from him in the future!

His poems are so descriptive and captivating. You can relate to some part of each poem and if you cant you still understand what it would feel like to be broken, in love, or saved. It’s amazing how his words entrap the readers mind.

Another moving collection of poems that are sure to capture your heart. I'm impressed with the flow of the words and the in-depth meanings found within the poems. Poems that can thought to mean different things depending on the mind frame of the reader. It leaves a bit a mystery behind what was going through Brinas' mind.

A few poems I feel head over heels for but none more than the one title Separation.

Perfect day to

Mihai Brinas poems are raw and all to devouring of the human soul. I look forward to the hopeful many more work from Brinas.

A star count is one person’s opinion. Clearly, I like this work a lot. More on the stars, counting, and my rating challenges later.
For a taste of Brinas’ voice, turn to Discoveries, which begins thus: “teachers transmit their knowledge /in public /to more people at a time /this is how you discover science” and continues to a pleasant surprise ending.

For social commentary and human observation, turn to The Same Road. For a love poem told in a metaphor, turn to The Nest.

For another observation of humans at large, turn to In the Wind, which includes this (in the middle) : “it turns the pages /with its breeze /as if reading /then full of poetry /the wind begins to recite....”

Spoiler alert: this is the entire poem Let Us Be: “let me be a bench in the park /where you can sit /and dream of me /let me be an armchair /to keep you in my arms /let me be myself later /let me hug you /and fulfill your dream”

For a powerful, deceptively simple poem, turn to A Bench. I cannot give you the force of this piece in a short quote. When you have the work in your hand, turn to this page.

For a strange and fascinating work that questions reality, turn to Guardian Angels.

For a personal poem written so simply you cannot believe its power, turn to Separation.

For those of you who like a bit of thought-provocation, turn to Image Cut Out from Another World.

Now for my star count boilerplate. My personal guidelines, when doing any review, are as follows: five stars means, roughly equal to best in genre. Rarely given. Four stars means, extremely good. Three stars means, definitely recommendable. I am a tough reviewer. I try hard to be consistent. Brinas is up against e.e.cummings, Stephen Stephen Crane, and Archibald MacLeish, where he stands as roughly equal. Five stars feels right on.

Beautiful, thoughtful, and full of emotions. That describes this collection of poems.
I love the pictures brought up by the metaphors in the poems, awakening my imagination and calling to my own feelings. The short poems reflect life itself, with its ups and downs, full of both joyful and sad emotions. The thoughts embraced in the pieces were truly aligned, following several emotional arcs that intertwined together, enclosed in a strong feel of love and pure joy at the beginning and at the end of the collection.
That gives the reader the hope for a happily ever after, much like in a novel.
Many of the pieces felt realy even from my point of view, as if taken from my own life and rearranged into emotional imprints that everyone could align with. One just needs to stop and open his mind and his heart to let the feelings in.
I noticed some reappearing images, and could observe several metaphoric figures the author holds as his favorites, whether consciously or subconsciously. But I love the symbolics in these images, and can always found my own way how to twist them to correlate with my personal experience and inner thoughts.
Well written and finely arranged, I recommend this collection even to people who do not read poetry on a regular basis.

Without hesitating, I confirmed I'd read author Mihai Brinas 'Alignment of Thoughts'. I genuinely appreciate that it veers from his book 'Invitation to Poetry'.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book 'Alignment of Thoughts'. It is lyrical but when I read it there is less urgency and more conviction. Yes! The cadence is slower and at times the read more somber and I love it just the same, perhaps a little more, as it seems more sincere.

It is a pleasant thought that a young man can gather inspiration and carve words that portray an observation of humanity. If I were to use one word to describe 'Alignment of Thoughts', I would use heartfelt. And like the first line of this book states, this read is created with the chisel of imagination.

I received this ebook through the generosity of the author.
