April showers bring…muddy footprints! Spring It On! (Lizzie McGuire Mystery #7): Spring has sprung at Hillridge Junior High, and that brings two things: the big Spring Fling dance and spring showers. While the unending rain depresses Lizzie, Miranda is totally psyched. Her theme for this year's Spring Fling dance (Flower Power!) has been chosen over a ton of other student ideas. Now Miranda is in charge of the whole thing-and she's drafted Lizzie to help. The Good: This finale of the Lizzie McGuire Mysteries series continues the traditions that made the earlier installments great. An original story; both familiar and new characters; a fun whodunit arc; good writing...what's not to like? As with the other books, fans of the original series will love this one.

The Bad: Nothing, really; it just wasn't spectacular.

Conclusion: Now that I've completed this book, I can say that I've read all of the Lizzie McGuire Mystery novels. It's been a fun journey, especially since the stories contained within the books are unavailable in any other form. If you love the groundbreaking Disney Channel sitcom, you have to give these books a try.

I just started watching Lizzie McGuire for the first time in about 15 years while working out on the treadmill, and I am loving it. So, naturally, I was determined to try and find some of the books to read as well. Unfortunately, my library only has about three books in the series, but better than none I guess.

This was SUPER cute, and I had a blast reading it. I also thought the author nailed the character’s “voices”, and I could hear them perfectly in my head whenever they had dialogue.

This series ended on a pretty good note, rather than the rainy conditions that the characters had here. I appreciated seeing Lizzie and the gang work a little more together compared to the past mysteries, and Maridan did fine with the characters exclusive here. The case was well-paced, the culprit was another one that I didn't expect (though there were some hints given), and aside from Lizzie trying to get Ethan to be her boyfriend-ish (even though at this stage it's never going to happen), all went well.

But overall, the series was okay. While there were some good books, there were quite a few duds. If you're a fan who grew up with Lizzie McGuire, I'd say pick up the first, sixth, and seventh mysteries. Possibly the second as well, since this book does make a mention of it. Otherwise, you're fine skipping the others.

Speaking of other Lizzie books, I wouldn't be opposed to reading more non-canon material. Let's see what I can find next!
