Mapleville Omegas #2

Roses for His Omega

Rate this book
Attending a Valentine’s Day wedding solo, when your “plus one” just dumped you, is about at romantic as a visit to the dentist.

Reid hesitates to accept the invitation to his college roommate—and onetime lover’s midweek wedding, but at least he has an enviable date in a hotshot lawyer, Topher. Until, after Reid’s bought their plane tickets and made all the plans, Topher dumps him. Rather than stay home and mope, he chooses the possible lesser evil and heads for Mapleville. He’ll deal with his misery and the snowball of ways his life is falling apart when he gets home. One thing for sure, he’s not going to make important decisions based on the vagaries of an unreliable love life. Maybe the good things of life are just not meant for him.

Kayson lives a good life, by most accounts. He works with his aunt at her local florist shop creating beautiful arrangements and spreading sunshine through botanicals. He lives in a town he adores. He has the finances to live peacefully without financial stress. The only problem is, he is lonely. He longs for a mate, someone to spend his life with, raise a family with and in small-town Mapleville, there just wasn’t anyone who fit the bill.

When Knox and his future bride, Celeste, hired Vivian’s Roses to do their wedding flowers, it appeared to be just a typical gig and then bridezilla came out. Between switching orders and outbursts there was nothing more he wanted than to have the wedding be over and done with. Until a coffee shop encounter with Reid turned his world on its axis. Instant chemistry and a connection like none he’d experienced before had him wanting time to slow giving him the opportunity to convince Reid to stay in Mapleville and be his omega, his mate.

Roses for His Omega is Valentine’s novella filled with enough sweetness to cause cavities, a touch of knotty heat, and enough love to go around.

This second book of the "Mapleville Omegas" series is just as good as the first. The MCs are both fun and more than likable and there is plenty of humor as well as sweetness in the story. Over all it was a wonderful and sexy read!

This was book 2 in "The Mapleville Omegas" series. Reid is having a bad day he was dumped by his alpha because he asked him to attend a wedding of his college roommate and one time boyfriend and to top it off he bought nonrefundable tickets and to top off he didn't resign his lease at he has to move. When he gets to Mapleville his room isn't ready while getting coffee he meets a hot sexy alpha. Kayson works in a flower shop with his aunt Vivian who raised him. He is also having a bad day the bride of a wedding that he is doing the flowers for keeps changing her mind and has turned into bridezilla. I liked both of these characters Kayson who has given up on love doesn't want to give up Reid. I also liked Aunt Vivian she said what she wanted and didn't care what people thought. While at the wedding Reid's ex Topher shows up expecting for him to take him bad he was selfish. This was a good read with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

Roses for His Omega: a Mapleville Valentine's Day Novella: M/M No Shifter Alpha/Omega Mpreg (Mapleville Omegas Book 2) (ARC) was graciously provided to me by the author for an honest review.

An Omegaverse Love Story...

As I sit here looking all dreamily at my computer at the culmination of my most recent read, I can't help but think back to all of the wonderful parts that really had me falling in love with this book early on in the read.  Roses for His Omega by Lorelei M. Hart and Ophelia Heart is a sweet, humorous, sexy, heart-warming, and, fulfilling read.  A read with not only angst-filled moments, but loving and tender moments as well.  A read that would make any Valentine's Day extra-special. This novella takes place in an Omegaverse, where alphas, betas, and, omegas are the norm, and, where places and ways-of-life are a bit different to that of which is recognizable. I love stories from this world, and, find it simply intriguing and very interesting to always read.  I absolutely loved this story!

Roses for His Omega is a story about two young men, Reid and Kayson, who are at a time of their lives still unable to find that perfect match to make their lives complete.  At a surprising yet interesting moment, both men suddenly feel a gentle yet forcefully loving wind guide them towards one another.  As each man suddenly and wonderfully is confronted by this indescribable attraction and pull for the other, as if unable to ignore this invisible call, both men slowly begin to get to know one another, soon discovering that that scented pull, that blanketed warmth of a connection, has guided them into the welcoming arms of their forever other half.  This mated draw, they soon discover, will have them in the mist of the most wonderful life with that one person who will make all of their dreams come true.

Throughout the story, I frequently found myself staring with heart-shaped eyes, at my monitor, feeling quite silly because it is an inanimate object after all, but, that didn't seem to make one bit of a difference to me.  At all.  I may have drooled a bit, I may have swooned for like the umpteenth time..and..then I bawled..but then I swooned again. *sigh*  It was so refreshing to see an alpha who was so kind, attentive and selflessly protective of..his omega..in ways that would have anyone dreaming for their own alpha to show that same kind of love.  As I read this novella, I found it to be a very well written story, and, loved the secondary characters as well, despite it being a storyline with slight development with characters slightly development as well.  The secondary characters, including a feisty aunt who made it her mission to bring happiness, love, and, flowers into the lives of all who frequented her life, all contributed nicely to the overall enjoyment of this read.

I'm always drawn to stories like this one, and, despite there being some typos involving character pov, and, with the hope of reading some of the other important moments from Reid and Kayson's lives, I found this read to be a very warmly intriguing and absolutely beautiful read and would welcome reading not only more books from these authors, as this was my first, but, also a story with more depth as a whole.  Especially with these characters.  *ahem*  So, as I sit here rubbing my hands together on a quest for more wonderful stories such as this one, I will continue to think about all of the moments which had Roses for His Omega such a special read for me..:)

The Gift

I no sooner finished the First Book in the Mapleville series than I quickly moved right to the Second Book. The first had a Christmas centered theme. The Second centers around a Valentine's Day. I couldn't wait to return to Mapleville. I'm in a hurry to finish this Review so I can read the Third Book: MARDI GRAS WITH HIS OMEGA. For some inexplicable reason I like stories involving Florists. When I'm reading a series I don't read any of the book summaries ahead of time, so each is a complete surprise to me. It makes my reading experience even more enjoyable because each is a wonderful surprise.

So far Omegas have been given reasons to come to little Mapleville. This time it's to attend a wedding. What is unusual is that the groom is an Ex,who is marrying a woman, and the Omega has been dumped by the most recent boyfriend who was supposed to accompany him. Talk about love hurts. For this Omega if something can go wrong it does.

Something I've come to enjoy about these authors is the humor they infuse each story with. This story had so much of it. The main characters could laugh at themselves, even as they fell hopelessly in love yet they are torn apart by circumstances. Some of the humor involved a Bridezilla and how she made the life of the Florist for her wedding miserable. That is until he met the Omega of his Dreams. Talk about WOW! So handsome despite the coffee stains and what appeared to remnants of tears.

In spite of both of them trying to use common sense and logic to define what was happening between them, neither could deny the very intense mutual attraction. The combustible kisses and explosive passion. Neither could leave the other alone. Even when briefly separated their thoughts were consumed by images of and the desire to be with the other man again. Yet despite all of this an obnoxious presence from the past was determined and succeeded in ruining their happy march towards a future together.

Then Cupid in the form of a wise TMI auntie intervened and a blossoming love that had begun to wilt and wither was reborn anew and even stronger. The sunlight of promise, tenderly tilled rich fertile soil, made sturdy roots sink deeply, from the planting of of a single seed, a beautiful floral gift began to grow, it was carefully nutured by the power of love.

If you like stories that are sweet and tender with just the right amount of angst in a Mpreg romance? Then you not only have to read this book, but the others in this special series as well.

I really needed a sweet and very romantic love story to remind me that all is not angst and pain in the world, and I found it in this second installment of the ‘Mapleville Omegas’ series. I’m beginning to adore the omegaverse trope and everything it entails. Reid and Kayson are both gorgeous and deserve a happy ever after so much.

Reid is an omega who doesn’t always make the best choices which is how he ends up in Mapleville alone to attend his college roommate’s wedding, his alpha having dumped him after Reid bought their plane tickets, and now homeless as he forgot to sign his lease renewal in the hopes that he and his ex-alpha might move in together. Reid is honest enough to admit he stayed with that man far too long just because he didn’t want to be alone. Life is not going well for him but meeting a gorgeous alpha while getting coffee is just the thing Reid needs to boost his morale.

Kayson is a single alpha, currently by choice, who loves working with flowers at his Aunt Viv’s shop, although she despairs of him ever finding someone in their small town and gifting her with a great niece or nephew. Meeting Reid is just what Kayson needs and their undeniable attraction is practically stratospheric. In fact it’s not just the desire they share but the absolute clarity that they’re made for each other. But Reid is going home after the wedding, right?

I can’t say I was surprised by much of the plot but the romance is so sweet that I enjoyed it anyway. It’s definitely insta in basically every way but I still had fun reading it. Mapleville is becoming a very comfortable town to spend a few hours in.

This is the second book in The Mapleville Omegas Series. A delightful book the writing was good. The plot was entertaining and it was steady throughout the book. I found the story and characters wonderful. The characters were developed and thought out. Reid is an Omega and Kayson is an Alpha and they are the MC’s of this book. There was humor, a florist shop, a coffee accident, ugly flower arrangements, a wedding, mates, an ex-boyfriend, a blizzard, a bad management company, pregnancy and so much more in this book.

Here is a quote from the book, “So, what’s your favorite flower…I’m sorry, I forgot to ask you name.” He smiled at her revealing dimples on either side of his chin. My name is Reid, ma’am. And you? You must be Vivian?” She put a hand to her chest, surprised. “How did you know?” “The sign. Vivian’s Roses. I thought it must be your namesake.”. There is more but you will need to read the book which I can recommend. I voluntarily read an advance copy of this book for an honest review.

Roses for His Omega by Lorelei M. Hart. This is Reid and Kayson’s story.

Reid is in town for a friend’s wedding and meets Kayson. They are immediately attracted to one another but Reid is eating town after the wedding. If you enjoy sweet alpha and omega mpreg stories, then this is for you.

FYI, contains mature content. This is a MM romance. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

This was a very sweet and sexy story. Reid and Kayson were a cute and funny couple, who were obviously meant to be together from the moment they met. Alpha Kayson recognized this right away, but he had to work to convince his omega. It was entertaining to read about these men falling in love while dealing with a bridezilla and a psycho ex. I laughed a little at both men, who could be goofy at times, and I loved Kayson's aunt Vivian. I really enjoyed this!

A really cute story perfect for Valentine's. Really enjoyed the storyline and it kept me captivated all the way through. Reid and Kayson are wonderful characters that are just perfect together. There are great supporting characters that make this a well rounded book. A few bumps in the road on the way to their HEA but well worth it.

Sweet love story

If you are looking for low angst, sweet story then pick this one. It isn’t the typical alpha omega characters but that makes it that much better. An alpha florist and an omega that wasn’t even looking for love ends with an incredible Happy ending.

I completely loved everything about this book. Spit-fire little old ladies with dirty mouths, ex's getting swatted like the bugs they are, cute little babies, and a love that is forever fated.

Good but….

Although I gave a 5 star rating overall I had one issue with the story…..Reid. Kayson is way too good an alpha for him. The editing left a lot to be desired.

OK, I will admit it... I expect the alpha to be take-charge and the strong one of the duo... but, it would appear that I like it when that describes the omega, also! Yeah, I'm just easy like that! LOL!!!

This one was just as cute as the first one and we all would be lucky to have our own Aunt Vivian! Except for a couple of times that I went back and read a few paragraphs because it felt like I missed something or... anyways, this one worked fine for me!

Moving on to book 3... Mardi Gras with His Omega, which I will be reading on March 5th!!! *grin*

Wonderful & gentle storyline

Another of the Mapleville (small town) tales where you can tell right away it will have a HEA. There was a slight bit of angst but our omega stepped right up and put his ex- out in the cold where he belonged so all continued as it should. Got a peak at some secondary characters from the first book and that was fun. When you're looking for a no-fuss. Sex but not graphic, story, give these titles a try. I enjoyed them.
