All in all, this series was fantastic. The first two books quickly became some of my favorite books, and I was so excited to read the third. However, my library didn't have the third. So I waited for a year or two, until I got it as a Christmas present. Even after I got it, I was so excited to read it, but I didn't want it to end. So I put it off, wondering what the book would be like. A few months later, I finally read it. And was very disappointed. The third book lacks that feeling from the first two books. My favorite character wasn't even in the book for most of it, and when he finally was, he was super dramatic. K. E. Ormsbee had a great, spooky idea in the beginning, but then she never returned to it. It was kind of weird, how she stuck a great idea in there, then didn't explain or return to it. After a boring three-hundred pages or so, it started to get good. But the ending dropped right back down into disappointing. Although the author disappointed me with her final book in the series, she did create a wonderful world. Her characters are amazing, and I love all of them. And, disappointing as the third book was, I think the first two make up for it. I look forward to reading more of her books.
Wow. I literally have no words to describe this book and the series itself. The ending was perfect. Even though some of my assumptions had been right there was so much info released in this book that made everything balance out to a shockingly amazing ending. The characters grew so much over these three books that I can't help myself from feeling proud of their accomplishments XD All in all this was an amazing book series that I probably won't forget.
A perfect ending to a beautiful trilogy! Strong but vulnerable characters with dynamic, empowering friendships. I laughed, I cried, I threw the book at the wall. Everything I want from a novel.
when i first started this series, i wasn’t very into it. i was just reading it because i didn’t have anything else to read. but, about halfway through the first book, i was hooked. i had to find out what happened. i really was rooting for oliver and lottie to get together until this last book, but i’m happy with the way it ended anyways. i wish we got to see more of oliver and eliot, especially with them moving to dim and all, and maybe some more of lottie and fife. i overall loved this series, and i’m going to go sob and cry and kick and scream because i’m done with it. <3

This was a fitting end to the trilogy, full of intrigue, surprises, joy, and sadness. Ormsbee stayed true to the characters (Lottie, Elliott, Fife, Oliver, and Adelaide, as well as many supporting characters) while continuing to grow the story. Lottie especially was well-developed, continually struggling with growing up. She showed that we all make mistakes and we all must continue to grow and learn from them. I loved this trilogy and would highly recommend it to adults and children alike.
What amazing storytelling this is. K.E. Ormsbee has written likeable characters with complexity and humanity, fantasy that enhances the forward trajectory of the story, and adventure after adventure! Every word draws you into the story. I could not put the books down, imagining myself as a young adult reading them.
Wow. Wow wow wow. I am IN LOVE with these books. The writing, plot, characters are all perfect. I couldn’t ask for more. For me, it’s almost the runner up for KOTLC and I WISH WISH WISH more people would these. They’re simply a genius.
Held captive in the world of Dim, Lottie and her friends Eliot and Oliver desperately attempt to get back to the realm of Limn before the war breaks out - but every time they think they get ahead of their enemies, mistakes from the past drag them deeper into the darkness, threatening to keep Lottie and those she cares for from succeeding. Ormsbee brings this fantastic trilogy to a heartwarming close with as much charm, humour and action one can pack into a novel. Can Lottie find her place in the midst of battle before everything she seeks to protect is destroyed?
