Hot Chocolate and Homicide is the 11th book in the Chocolate Centered Cozy Mystery series by Cindy Bell. Charlotte and Ally are busy with their Valentine’s Day chocolate orders including a special candy and hot chocolate beverage package. Filling their candy orders becomes a challenge when the owner of the dairy farm that supplies milk to their shop is murdered. Who would commit such a heinous act and why? Read this well crafted cozy mystery to learn how Charlotte and Ally work together to identify the villain and the motivation behind the crime. This is a delightful series and this book is the perfect Valentine’s Day read. Enjoy it while savoring chocolates and hot chocolate! A quick, clean cozy with a surprise ending and tasty recipe.
Valentine’s Day is around the corner and who is as busy as a florist? A candy shop, specifically, “Chocolate Haven”. As Ally and her grandmother Charlotte prepare for one of the biggest days of the year, a longtime town’s person is murdered. Who is responsible? That list is long and Ally helps her boyfriend, Detective Luke elm to eliminate possible suspects.
Another great book in the series A Chocolate Centered Cozy Mystery which could very well be read as a single read. When you take a chocolate story and add a death with as many suspects as there are motives you end up with a delicious Chocolate Centered Cozy Mystery that is a spectacular read! When the Milkman purchases one to many boxes of chocolates the mystery begins to unfold. You won't want to put this book down.
I am voluntarily reviewing the book, 'Tides, Trails and Trouble' gifted to me by the Author with no obligation.
The real appeal of the Chocolate Centered Mystery series by Cindy Bell is the close relationship between Ally and her Mee-Maw Charlotte! In Hot Chocolate and Homicide, Charlotte's Chocolate Haven in Blue River is gearing up for Valentine's Day. Ally wants time alone with her detective boyfriend, Luke Elm and it will be Charlotte's first valentine's Day with Jeff! While the ladies are busy filling candy orders, they hear the news of the death of local dairy farm owner, Gladys Bloomdale. There are several possible suspects and while Luke investigates, Ally and Charlotte can't help themselves. They do what they can to figure out who "done it". This is a fun series and I like Ally's pet sidekicks Arnold and Peaches.
As it is almost Valentine's Day, Charlotte and Ally are frantically filling chocolate orders at their candy shop. The gift packs are flying out the door. But soon bad news comes as a local dairy farm owner winds up dead. The two gals can't resist the investigation and do some snooping on their own. There are many suspects to the murder and their efforts might turn into bad luck. This novel is totally enjoyable and very well written. Highly recommend.
Hot Chocolate and Homicide by CindyBell Ally and her grandmother Charlotte ran a chocolate shop together! The is a Cozy mystery with all my favourite elements in it. There is an old cottage, a cat, two very likeable characters and oh my There is a chocolate shop! Now I worked in one for a few years and I enjoyed it very much. This is a great book, unfortunately one of the people is murdered and to help her policeman boyfriend Jeff, Ally and Charlotte try to solve the murder. Cindy Bell is a great author and I truly am glad I purchased this book. The review is all my own.
What can be better than chocolate on Valentine’s Day!
Valentine’s Day is always a busy time at Charlotte and Ally’s chocolate shop especially with all the special orders. Their recipes require plenty of fresh milk and when the owner of the farm dies in a suspicious accident they are determined to help solve the case in spite of Luke’s concerns for their safety.
This was a fun cozy with likable characters and a good mystery for the plot. I think anyone who enjoys cozy mysteries will like it.
I couldn't get past pg 32. Overly dramatic. On and on with the sappy lines. Woman devalues herself allowing a man to put with first. Has her fawning all Over him. She starts out saying his insecure she feels in the relationship then she says oh, it's ok if you run off and leave me with the check at the restaurant. As she gives him a thermos of coffee. Because he's so tired. Police don't work endlessly. They work shifts. Sappy. Overly dramatic.
What a fabulous way to spend your time relaxing with an amazing cozey murder mystery with caracters so diverse in in nature but bonded in the deadly drama filled with greed, lust for money and unfulfilment intreage, as well as two romances one just on the cusp of full bloom the other just budding. A tantalising read that has you melded from start to finish. Aquier a copy and start enjoying "Hot Chocolate and Homicide "as much as I have. 😮🤔🙄Kat
This is great read for cozy mystery fans like myself and for those wanting to try the genre. Since the heroines are of two generations at different points in life but with the same decisions facing them, the series invites readers from twenty to ninety!
Great story. Love the characters. Ally and Charlotte certainly love each other. I didn't think it was the milk man or that he was having affair with Gladys. I hope that there will be future books with Ally,Charlotte , Arnold and cat in them. The pig cracks me up. Thanks again for an enjoyable story. Stay well and keep writing.
Another success for Cindy Bell. I love the characters, Allie and Mee-Maw, and the chocolate shop. The surprise murder of a long-time resident leads Allie, her Mee-Maw, and her sweetheart, Detective Like on a fast-paced and exciting, sometimes frightening investigation. Read it. You'll love it too.
Ally and her grandmother own a chocolate shop. When a community member is murdered they can't help but investigate and try to solve it even though ally's boyfriend the sheriff tells them not to get involved. A few adventures, twists and turns and some chocolates later the mystery is solved.
This was an edge of the seat mystery! Poor Luke and a Jeff could never keep up with Charlotte and Ally! Loved the ins and and outs of the small town and the gossipy old ladies! Valentine’s Day will never be the same! Good read. Get a cup of chocolate and enjoy the read!
Valentine's Day is near and Ally and Charlotte are very busy making chocolate for gifts. Ally came up with idea of making hot chocolate in flavors to match the chocolates. Gladys is kill in an accident on one of her daisy's bikes. Ally and Charlotte wonder if it was an accident when it is discovered the brake line was cut.
Book 11 and I still can't wait for the next one I love Ally And Charlotte if you love a great cozy with characters you will want to know and a story that will keep you turning the page then Cindy Bells books are a must readc
This, as all the books by Cindy Bell I've read, was such an easy enjoyable read. I love the relationships between Ally and Luke❤, Mee-Maw and Ally as well as Mee-Maw and Jeff and can't wait to see what's next for them all.
I enjoyed this story of adventure and suspense, the author did not let the readers get a hint of what she was doing with her characters. I was completely at a loss as to who did it till the murder confessed. Nice job Ms Cindy!
I enjoyed this latest Chocolate Centered mystery with engaging characters plus a yummy storyline. There are plenty twists and turns. This is a must read for cozy mystery fans.
Valentine's Day - who knew it could be quite so perilous. Things are really hopping in Chocolate Heaven when murder strikes. Follow the leads along with Charlotte and Ally to see if you can solve the mystery before they do. This is a cozy mystery you'll definitely enjoy!
Once I start reading I can't wait to see who dun it. Was a little surprised by the ending. Left you hanging on one of the suspects and what they did. Hope to see one of the characters in the next book.
I gave it a 4 because it was a woman and her mee-maw. I have a soft spot for grammies. The book is very predictable and so small town orientated that it is a fast read.
Charlotte 's and Allie's relationship is sweet. Their relationships with their beaux is sweet. They own a chocolate shop...sweet. The mystery is not at all gripping, and the real surprise ending is that Peaches and/or Arnold were not the heroes.
These cozy mysteries are about perfect, just like all of her books. I am a big fan and have read most of her books. I know if she is the author it will be good
This was repetitive and annoying, with the revelation of the murderer not something that really fitted with the rest of the story. Nothing I had read had led me to think that particular character was the murderer, which I think is cheating on the part of the author.
