When the people Rosie loves are in danger, there's nothing she won't do.
With Brighde trapped by Morgan le Fae, Rosie begs Kerdik not to put himself in danger. With no way to help him when he goes missing, Rosie turns to unlikely allies. When Lane sacrifices everything to walk straight into the heart of the battle, Rosie knows there can be no life for her without Lane.
Bastien and Rosie hold nothing back as they set out to free Kerdik, and end Morgan le Fae once and for all. Little do they know that the biggest danger to Avalon doesn’t come from the evil they can see, but the evil that’s been cleverly hidden.
"Stubborn Girl" is book seven of a 14-part fantasy romance series.
USA Today bestselling author Mary E. Twomey lives in Michigan with her three adorable children. She enjoys reading, writing, vegetarian cooking, and telling her children fantastic stories about wombats.
While she loves writing fantasy, dystopian, and paranormal tales for her readers, Mary also writes romance under the name Tuesday Embers.
Faîte Falling is an 11-Part Urban Fantasy Series based in French Folklore.
“Kerdik turned to where the window used to be and clicked his fingers, making the stones over the glass tumble to the floor with several bowling ball-sounding cracks. He popped open the window and surveyed the land with furrowed eyebrows. “If I faint, do see that I don’t tumble out the window,” he said over his shoulder to us. “That would be embarrassing.” I let out a noise of distress. “Jeez!” What are you up to that would make you faint, Kerdik?” “Protecting what’s mine. I worked for a long time with your little friend Judah to get the aqueducts just the right dimensions. I won’t see an army come and mess up my handiwork.” I smirked at him. “Admit it. You love Avalon. You want to watch over us.” Kerdik shook his head. “I want to watch over you.” Bastien grumbled several curses under his breath, letting me know their little truce was reaching its breaking point. Kerdik blew out a long breath, and then lifted his hands, stretching them out of the window. I moved to his side, and Bastien peeked over my shoulder to watch the sight that ripped a gasp from us both. Stone walls shot up from the earth, building on the one we’d been constructing with the sweat of our hands. Kerdik took our handiwork and made it taller, thicker and infinitely longer. The wall snaked on down the edge of the territory, until I couldn’t see its end anymore.” (pp. 28-29).
Book seven was action-packed, dangerous, suspenseful, with applicable to the story; violence of fighting. Nevertheless, there were continued episodes painted with amusing dialogue among the tremendously well-rounded characters to relieve the strain.
Always, I will not reveal ANY spoilers, Bodacious Bibliophile as I wish for you to relish the Continuing Journey of a new heroine: Ms. Rosie Avalon.
I gave this book five (5) stars as I Definitely Loved this Fantastical French Fable and I ardently encourage you, Dearest Reader to buy this new series.
Stubborn Girl by Mary E Twomey continues Rosie’s saga to utilize her powers and defeat the evil in the land. I enjoy Rosie because she is such a real character. She isn’t perfect, and makes mistakes, sometimes repeatedly, but she grows as a person. Admittedly, I found myself getting frustrated and a bit exasperated with the way her love interests treat her. No matter how often she helps save the day, or proves to be a crucial part of solving the solution it seems to be a common theme to leave her behind, or even trap her somewhere to try and trick the enemy. I get so annoyed by them not listening to her at all. Everyone steps all over her rights, and rules her as though they have any right to control her life. She never gets them to understand, and winds up understanding their point of view. I was so relieved in one of the earlier books when they finally clued in that she needs sleep, and it isn’t an option, but they still doubt how well she knows her capabilities. Admittedly, she is stubborn, and would likely do things she shouldn’t. I still loved the characters and the story, but occasionally found her responses to be less than she seemed likely to give. I was thrown for a loop by the ending. I completely didn’t expect the consequences Rosie now needs to face. This seems like a pleasant enough conclusion to this part of the series, but I look forward to reading more about Rosie in the future.
Once again, Mary Twomey has provided a gripping follow up book (number 7) in the Faite Falling series. Although the story continues at a great clip to maintain your interest (there is nothing tiring about this series anyway), we start to see some "ends" get tied together. Rosie must make some choices and stand her ground, but through it all, remains the likable star of the show she has proven to be since the first page of the first book! The twists and turns in the storyline continue to captivate, and I actually waited to read this one until I had the next one so I wouldn't have to stop reading! This series is best read in order, as the character development is so important as the story progresses. Each of the characters although tied to the others, carries their own weight within the story. Continues to evoke your every emotion at every level. You will not go wrong with this series!
A lot of people probably will give out spoilers, I'm not going to be like that!
What you should know is that this series, like others that Ms. Mary wrote, are so full of life that you'll definitely end up want to continue with the next book! When a story wraps itself about you with such epicness that you can share a sense of what the characters are feeling, well.. it's sooo worth the cost of the book.
I'm waiting to find out about a little someone, there is a mystery about that! I also was glad to see the motivational suggestion at the end of the book didn't have anything to do with Lucky Charms; although, now I wonder if that might mean something else.
I put off reading this series, but now I cannot stop! 14 books, just wow!
I love this series and highly recommend it to all my friends. It is such an emotional ride and you never know what to expect. This author is not afraid to take chances with her characters.
Bastien and Rosie and Kerdik are united in a battle that requires them to risk everything to keep those they love safe from Morgan's control. It is a journey that challenges them all. The dynamic between them is so much fun to watch. Rosie has two men that are so different but love her both deeply. She has to make some really tough choices nad has a loss that breaks her heart.
You have to read this series in order. You won't regret it.
This book was fantastic. Well written for sure. I love Rosie and I appreciate that her character stays true to her nature. It was a well thought out conclusion to part one of the series. I was shocked about province tens decision. I was gutted when she talked to link and Mad. And I was warm and fuzzy at the ending with Lane. This book covered all of those emotions. I think the dose of Kerdik in common also shows how fantastic he is. He really doesn’t get enough credit 😜

Just when I thought I couldn't fall in love with these characters more I am proved wrong. Stubborn Girl really takes the ever growing build up of the first 6 books and goes even farther! I also can't believe how much the characters continue to grow and expand in their depth. As always there are tons of emotions, a lot of pain, but the fact we have more fun with this story and characters in the next three books gives me so much of a thrill of excitement! Bring on book 8!
I loved the series. I'm getting ready to purchase Book 8 of the series, but I hesitate. Books in a series like this are usually very short. 250 pages or so. The cost is ridiculously high. Then there is the repetitive beginnings in each book of the series which I usually skim through and make the book when shorter. All said, I will probably break down and get the last books because I'm hooked on Daisy.
Love, love, love! I don’t feel like my review would be complete without saying it’s better than the other 6. I was NOT expecting half of the things that happened or many of the outcomes. This final Avalon chapter ends bittersweet. And of course, with heartache. But is well worth the read. And also the tiny feelings of satisfaction.
Normally i finish reading these books in a day and a half but this one took longer. The protogonist changes and u see a different side. Hopefully she gets stronger as the series progresses.
