Prime Minister Narendra Modi turns author with Exam Warriors. A doubt clouds my mind and questions, ‘Why would the head of the government think about exams?’ An argument breaks out between the minds. Yes! The small mind shouts, ‘Vote Bank Politics! Another Jhumla,’ but the big mind whispers, ‘Our doubt is always about something positive. We doubt goodness and believe in evil just like we doubt our capabilities and believe in weaknesses.’ The small mind sniggers, ‘Go ahead and waste your time.’ The big mind coaxes, ‘Pick it up for it may change your mind.’
I change stance and pick the book by a new Indian author. My mind calms down at this and with the newly acquired stillness, I smile at the cover that inspires the students to be happy and celebrate life. The contents are interesting Mantras with catchy pointers. The book is dedicated to the Youth of New India. I see myself looking at the restless and nervous student community settle down for a while. The hope in their aura makes me smile. The note from the author makes me realize that ‘India is the world’s most youthful nation and it is the strength and skills of these youngsters that will usher in a New India.’ Now, this is wow!
I read on to understand that in life it is the passion that makes the best vocation. As a parent, I experience a shift in my mind for there are truths designed to touch chords that lay dormant for quite some time. The comical images make me smile and the activities help me become a child. I come across certain truths that give the power to empower.
Exams test your current preparation, Not You. Chill! Smiles foster relaxation. With greater relaxation comes greater ability to recall. Compete with Yourself Temporary competition may damage friendship permanently Proper time management is proper pressure management Work in the present Leave your comfort zone Presentation is the key, Master it Technology is a great teacher- Embrace it. For parents and teachers: Accept rather than expect Yoga brings transformation- Practise It Before I realize the book ends but the wisdom seeps in, ‘To Cheat Is To Be Cheap,’ and the illustrations still pop up in my head. ‘Aspire, Not To Be, But To Do,’ rings a bell and I feel inspired like a child.
Exam Warriors is a must read for it will change perspective whether you are a parent, teacher or a child. It inspires with easy tips and presents doable goals. I cannot ‘cheat’ my conscience anymore and call ‘Exam Warriors’ a political gimmick for it would be ‘cheap’ to listen to my small mind.
An excellent book where PM has given 25 mantra's and has shared his anecdotes, touched various aspects through which a student has to go through while taking an exam.
"Life is an never ending process of learning, exams only check your current preparation. Be a warrior not worrier."
You are one of your own kind. There are immense no of opportunities waiting to be created and harnessed.
Political bias aside, ghost-writing aside, I-only-take-exam-tips-from-toppers aside, this is definitely a must-read for every Indian student below 15. Practical tips to keep calm and appear the exams stress-free. Many exercises to hone your creative side as well.
I wish the book size would have been bigger, A4 size perhaps, which could have given enough space for the creative exercises.
Loved the quote from page 100 "During exams, you lived to learn... Now go out and learn to live." This book seems to be written for children under the age range of 12 to 15. Because post that, children in some way or the other learn these lessons outside the book and it only comes with experience + age. In some page, our PM advices teachers to teach outside books; but that never happens in India. :) I liked the mentions of asanas and interactive exercises.
So lucid and in simple English yet impactful, activities at the end of each chapter reinforces what's said in the chapters in a very effective manner. Yogasanas explained with pictures at the end of the book shows how interested PM Modi is in the development of today's youth! Must read for all students!
It is proud to read a book written by our beloved PM Shri Narendra Modi. Though we know all suggestion, advice, however when it is coming from our PM then it becomes significant.
Here we can get a glimpse of disciplined and yogic life style of Narendra Modi for e.g. regular exercise, sound sleep, control over sleep, how to manage work load, working under pressure, stress handling.
Students will definitely going to benefit by reading this book. This book has very attractive graphic, work sheets and some takeaways which could be used. The price is very cheap, only Rs.100/-.
This book is quite special for me because this was gifted to me by my principal sir in school... He was very happy with my performance portraying the role of 'Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl", that he gifted me this amazing book. Talking about the content, this book is a must read for every student and their parents too! It talks about how to relieve stress during exams and how to prepare mentally and physically to deal with the upcoming stress of any examination. It also focuses on how parents can support their children just by showing their little words of appreciation. At the end we can find various yoga asanas which are really very helpful. Personally I tried each and every yoga and believe me they are very helpful. Through these colourful pages you can find a way to relaxation from all the stress ;)
Really liked it. A good attempt by the PM. It includes fun to do activities as well as basic tips to help one relax and rejoice even during exams . I recommend it for students in every grade especially those whose get the exam jitters so, that they are illuminated with the confidence f being able to write the exam. In the end Yoga tips are mentioned for health and internal peace. Even adults can try them quite refreshing.
Bahut hi waahiyat book hai modi ji ki exam warriors. Bhai koi bhi book purchase mat Karna mere to ₹100 waste chale gai pure. Kuch bhi nahi hai book me.
This book is very helpful in a lot of ways. It shows you yoga poses to help de-stress after a long day, or even just to relax in general. Also, it gives you info on how to be clam during big tests, which helps not to get bad scores on it. Finally, there's very uplifting messages in the book that it great to read about if you are wanting something like that in that moment. The book also teaches you a lot about lessons, and how to help yourself in good ways.

It's very unlikely that a Prime Minister of a country would take time to write a book on How to Write Exams addressed to the young adults of his country. I know of many PMs who wrote books. But both this subject as well as the audience are new and this is what intrigued me.
Though the subject of exams has never been a cause of concern to me, I have always believed them to be the bane of our system of education. I would be happy if we can do away with this system of memorizing and reproducing totally. But as the PM feels, it's a necessary part of every students life and it makes sense to talk to them about it and build an attitude that helps them to win in this game. That is exactly this book does.
The book reduces the significance attached to the examinations ans encourages healthy habits in children along with a healthy attitude towards examinations. Also it is adorned with funny caricatures that attract children. along with it, each chapter has a simple exercise and note taking section which helps children to get involved with the thinking of the book. By doing so, the book becomes a work book, something to do than something to read and forget.
All in all its a useful tool for parents, teachers as well as students and I recommend it's usage by all concerned, till we find a solution to replace the current examination system.
This book gives a good approach for kids and for parents on how to handle exams and exam times. it does inspire in the terms that for people who get depressed about their results or parents who take marks too seriously, if they can understand the details explained in the book. I am also impressed with the yoga postures towards the end of the book, a lot of people know few of them but there are some benefits and cautions provided that will be of additional help. A good read and to add butter to bread, the cost is low enough for anyone to grab a copy. So go get it, you and your kids can read it together.
Honestly the most helpful portion of the book was the yoga tutorial. Most of the advice given in the book is just common sense - don't stress over exams, study regularly with the help of a time table instead of cramming it all in on the night before you have to sit for a test. I am a student myself, and though I do struggle with some subjects, I have never feared exams or stressed out over the outcome. But considering the attitude of many Indians towards examinations and marks, it wouldn't be too farfetched to say that people did find this book helpful. Overall, a nice attempt by the PM, but I didn't find it particularly useful.
A great book written by prime minister of INDIA Narendra modi. He used to concerned about youth of INDIA I think that why he had written this book. He know the youth is the strongest part of his country so he used motivate them. And also in this book he has written how to cope with pressure of exam because he know problem faced by student in their board examination. He also mention some yoga, asana and dhyaan tips to be healthy and calm minded.
What a book. As a parent this a useful tool to guide your child not just during the exams but in life too. Each Mantra is carefully chosen and represented. In a language which is easy for the child to understand. I wish this was available when I was studying but nothing stops me from practising these now also. Schools should start using this book as part of their curriculum and see the marked difference.
An inspiring book by our beloved PM, the book will surely relieve anxiety, nervousness and tension of the students during exam months.
Liked the book a lot especially for its "my mantra and activities" pages. It will help the students think of their strength and weakness while filling those and also they can share their views with others from NM app.
Awesome fruitful book for children about how to relieve stress during exams, how to achieve success, yoga asanas and how to come out with flying colours. The life lessons can be applicable to adults too... Inspiring and thought provoking book with engaging activities.
