From a flamboyance of flamingos to a conspiracy of lemurs, this is a fabulous celebration of creatures from around the world and their weird and wonderful collective names. Catch a glimpse into their fascinating worlds and have fun with the simple search-and-find games on every page. With fresh and offbeat illustrations by new talent Hui Skipp, this is the perfect gift for curious young minds.
This is a fun non-fiction book to read with children! Each page features an animal and its "collective" name, filled with a page of pictures of the varieties of that animal. Then the page has questions for the reader to search and find from the animals portrayed. The text is rhyming and rhythmical and even adults can learn from this book! The end has more "look and find" questions for the whole book as well as a "Who's Who" of the animals to provide more information for the reader.
We absolutely loved this one! The kids loved the illustrations and the fact that there are things to find on every page. We learned what different groupings of animals were called which my 8yo absolutely LOVED and overall had fun reading. I do wish there were a few more facts presented on each page, but still a good light nonfic read.
We enjoyed this one. The girls fight a bit over being the one to find the animals who answer the puzzle questions on each page, but they definitely enjoyed the hunt aspect of the story.
Introduces young readers to some group names to various creatures and provides prompts to find certain illustrations on each spread. Further information on each type of animal can be found in the back of the book.
This is a playful introduction to animal groups. The sciency info is good for little readers. The prompts to find certain critters, like "Find who is sleepy" vary in how challenging they are, but most little ones should be able to find them within 5 minutes and can practice recognizing emotional and social clues too.
