22-month old little-AJ loves pear. So he can probably understand the desperation of John and Jane wanting to pluck the very juicy pear from the tree, although I think he felt a bit confused on the part when the bird being catapulted into the pond. I love how Pamela Allen always tries to insert some little knowledge for the young ones, be it fun facts about animals, or some scientific theories. This time, we learned about the physics of catapult.
The storyline is very simple. John and Jane saw a juicy pear on tree. Their ladder plan did not working. (Spoiler ahead) They finally got their pear unexpectedly when a big bird landed on the branch, but what came next was really cute. I love the ending when John and Jane shared the pear one bite each (for that was fair!)
