I loved this book and applaud the Author in taking a risk to join this wonderful world of books!!! I have a strong feeling that not only will this book take off but Kimberly Bracco will soon become well known.
Where to start?? Let me start by saying, I don't read books about Athletes'. Not that I have anything against them, it's not just my cup of tea. However, after winning an ARC of this book, I have just expanded my Goodreads list! Kimberly uses every descriptive word in the dictionary to suck her reader's in; the friendship that is shared in this book reminds me of me and my best friend, the love wrote about is every girls fantasy and the heartache is something I think we might all be able to relate to. It has been a while since I've found a book that describes the characters to a "T", the scenes are hot and steamy while still maintaining some class and leaving a little to the imagination and the story line is anything but dull.
**There are no spoilers, so feel free to read ahead**
After spending the last half of the year trying to get back on her feet, Ashley Mitchell is praying and hoping that she'll eventually catch a break. Being left heart broken and forced to move in with her best friend, she will do anything to just be on solid ground again. Doing her dream job writing for a local paper about what's hot and what's not, her boss approaches her with a once in a lifetime opportunity - cover for the sports writer and interview a hot shot NFL player, Tanner Garrison. There's only one problem, Ashely writes' about clubs, restaurants, boutique's - not football players'. Not being given much of choice, she sucks it up and decides to go through with the interview. Little did Ashley know, her whole world would be soon knocked of kilter. Everything she thought she knew about Tanner - courtesy of google and other newspaper articles - is soon thrown out the window.
Tanner Garrison is just an ordinary guy - loves his family, friends community but because he just happens to be one of the top NFL players, he is constantly portrayed as someone he's not. Constantly being bashed by the media, he is doing everything in his power to make sure he maintains control of his private life. Tanner's manager convinces him to do ONE pre-season interview despite how much he hates that all reporters' are the same - only interested in his personal life and not football at all. When Ashley walks into the conference room all flustered, Tanner soon looses all self control - in his mind. But Ashley does the one thing Tanner expected her to do and once again, her life is hanging by a thread.
What happens next is so unexpected, Ashley herself has a hard time believing it. The only problem, Ashley is extremely insecure. Will Tanner break down those walls? Will Ashley be able to show Tanner that not everyone is out to use him?
I know I said I wouldn't give any spoilers but I feel I need to let my fellow book lovers know, there is a cliff hanger that will leave you wanting more, saying WTH and suffering from a book hangover but you will most definitely not regret picking up this book, so add it to your list and mark your calendar for February 20th!!
