Enjoy this fast-paced romance by best-selling author, Taylor Hart!

Scar Walker, professional football player and ex Navy Seal, only wanted to focus on getting his gym built for military vets while he was in San Diego. He didn’t want to take crap from his brother, he didn’t want to deal with a lippy waitress, and he really didn’t want random people calling him on the phone.

Shayla Castle came to San Diego to finally live out her childhood dream. When she accidentally calls the mysterious phone number left on her table while waitressing, she never anticipated it would be the handsome jerkface soldier who chewed her out that morning. It confuses her even more when the same jerkface shows up the next night and saves her from an attacker.

She never would have imagined she and soldier boy would start talking every night and she really never imagined he would convince her to let him do her bucket list together. After a hike at Torrey Pines, a helicopter ride, and surfing at Oceanside…she finds she just might be falling for this soldier boy.

When things get heated, she’s left with a choice—let go of the past or lose a new dream she was just starting to discover.

A note from the author:

Thanks for visiting my Goodreads page.

I wanted to tell something meaningful about myself, but let's start with the important stuff--I love swoon-worthy heroes. The kind of heroes that are strong and would take a bullet for you, but also want to open your door and listen to you pour out your heart.

What else? I grew up moving. If you’ve read my books, you won’t be surprised by this. I have a lot of moving themes through my books centered around characters experiencing pain from someone moving.

It was hard. But, I believe there’s always a seed of good that comes out of everything hard, so I think the best thing that came from it was that I learned to love books.

And I had to learn a lot of mad skills on friend making. It gave me a love of people…good people, compassionate people. Interesting people of all kinds.

What else about me? I am a mother and wife! I have four amazing boys that are like little ninjas running around. I love them so much and I’m so grateful for my amazing husband who doesn’t get intimidated by all the billionaire men in my life.

I have a fierce love of my Savior, Jesus Christ. I am so grateful for Him and for the healing and forgiveness I’ve gotten to experience in my life. This is a theme in many of my books.

I love being an American. I am so proud of the men and women that support and preserve our freedom. This is another theme you will find in my books.

I am so grateful for my fans and for the support and love you all show me! Don’t stop reading!

Hugs-

Taylor

Yes, I read another Taylor Hart sports romances. I'm drawn to these books because I know I'm going to get a fast-paced easy-to-read book that is filled with likable characters. They never take me more than two sittings to finish and often I can read an entire book in one evening if I start early enough. Admitted these are fluffy and somewhat cheesy. However, I appreciate that they are clean and entertaining. These books are brain candy that I can devour guilt-free.

Scar and Skylar are both loveable characters who bring out the best in each other. A very enjoyable read!

This was a fun romance. The couple didn't leave the best first impressions. In fact, they really didn't like each other. But it wasn't long before their feelings changed. When Scar learned that moving to San Diego was Shayla's dream and she had a list of things she wanted to do there, he helped her go through the list. What a great guy. He not only helped Shayla but built a gym for military vets so they would have a place where they were comfortable with others who had been through the same things.

Watching Shayla's excitement at the places Scar took her to was so much fun. But I did have some issues with this story. First, this was a Titan story but the only mention of the team was that Scar was a backup player. Second, was the stalker. I wanted to know more about him. The last thing was that I didn't feel the connection between Scar and Shayla.

It may not sound like it, but I really did enjoy this book.

A sweet, fast, love story and an Adonis hero. Yumm! I didn't like how she got tongue tied and he left but I loved how it came together and ended. I just love these quick reads of hot guys. Plus movie like scenes. I'm a sucker.

As expected, a quick fun read, that's always clean. The romance is sweet and tender, however the final conflict felt very predictable and almost out of character to the point they had come to in their relationship.

If you've been to San Diego and the surrounding areas, you'll love all the places they go. The idea behind Shayla's bucket list was fun and unique.

Romance, clean, some mild faith elements
This was such a cute read. I feel like I have read several like this. Jaded person meets genuine honest hardworking person and falls in love. Still a nice romance, and with their genuine, honest characters, and obvious chemistry, I loved reading their story. More of a 3.5 for me as a reader, but just loved it. I read the alternate ending by J.Y., but I felt like it wasn't true to the characters. I think T.H. got it right for me as a reader with her original ending.
Scar and Shayla were a lovely fall. Shayla's work ethic, her honesty, and her desire to pursue her dream while keeping her heart safe were a lovely back story to her relationship with Scar. Their unlikely meeting, the trips, her heart softening to him. Her realization that he got her, and saw her differently than her previous boyfriend. His protective nature, but confidence in her, and her ability to protect herself, to do what she set her mind to, all the while seeing him for who he really was. It was a lovely read about self-awareness, self-reflection, and of two people really benefiting each other as friends in addition to the romance.

I liked this sweet romance quite a lot. The cover put me off, because I'm not into hunky guys with big muscles, but thankfully I read an excerpt which was charming, so I decided to give it a go. And I'm glad I did! Scar himself is a sweetie overall and Shayla is adorable, and their connection feels very real and sweet with strong chemistry and swoony moments. A typical silly misunderstanding at the end for drama, but at least it was resolved pretty quickly. ;)

I liked this book quite well until they started kissing and then it seemed to be kissing all the time and I got tired of it. Too much "hey" for me. Lots of people love a lot of kissing in their romances but I'm not one of them. Based on that premise I'd say that those people will like this story.

I liked Kansas girl quite a bit. She was strong and willing to make her dreams come true without much support from her loved ones. I had a harder time liking Scar because he was so cocky. True once he was besotted he was caring and careful of her but really their whole cute-meet was pretty rude on both sides. The romance was very face paced and pretty much insta-love. I'm not sure I totally bought it but they had enough going for them that I believe they could grow into real love.

I ended up with some unanswered questions. Maybe I missed the answer? But how did the phone number get into Shayla's pocket? If it got caught in with the ticket, how come it never came up that the brothers still didn't have numbers for each other? And why did Shayla call it? And if the guy Scar caught was the ex, what happened to stalker guy?

Sex: a lot of kissing though not overly descriptive. Sexual references
Language: no
Violence: attempted rape, self defense

Taylor Hart!!! She can write a story that catches me from the first scene and keeps me til the very end. Shayla is a waitress and brings Scar Walker, 3rd string quarterback for the Texas Titans, his breakfast. He proceeds to tell her the eggs were made wrong, eats and leaves. That night, she calls a number left on one of her receipts, and who should it be but Scar? Their relationship from there grows. Hart created such likeable character with these two that I was sucked in and wanted to see how they would work out. Scar is chivalrous and nurturing while we see the young Shayla mature with her feelings. Hart always brings in a relevant theme to her books, and with Scar, he is helping his fellow vets. I loved this back story of service and brotherhood. Adding a hint of suspense also gives the story some depth and thrills.

James Fouhey is amazing with his performance of this book. This is the first time I have heard him narrate, and I love his voice. It's warm and smooth, giving the tough Scar Walker that sexy, rough exterior a teddy bear feel. He easily transformed his voice to Shayla with a believable female voice. I will definitely look for more listens by him.

The Dream Groom: Texas Titan Romances is by Taylor Hart. This book is just as good if not better than the others in this and other series.
Scar Walker was back in San Diego. He had come to fulfill his dream of opening a fitness center for vets where they can get the exercise they need as well as the workouts and therapy if they were up for it. He wanted to start a whole string of them. He also wants to reconcile with his brother. They have rarely spoken since the day Sean left.
Shayla Castle had worked hard to get to California and planned to stay. She wanted to finish her class at the junior college and get into USC on instate tuition. She had no time for men. Between school and working at the diner, she had enough on her plate. However, when she met Scar at the diner, sparks flew; but denial was stronger. Now she has to deny her feelings for hunter. She needed to succeed, how can she do this with Scar around?

I would have given it a 5 rating, but some of the dialogue when they were 'pillow talking' was confusing. It was as if the characters had more information that was understood so they didn't need to explain to the reader. Unfortunately, the information wasn't automatically understood by the reader. Also, the 'hey' code word, while cute, got annoying after a while. Other than that, I loved the book. I loved that Scar was such a gentleman (after the initial diner experience). I think there is such a push for women's equality these days that men are afraid to be gentlemen because they are called out on it. I'm from the old school, I guess. I love a gentleman. I loved that they really attempted to get to know each other. I loved that they talked of God and had high moral standards. It was cute and fun. Clean. I'd probably read this one again.

This story is everything! This is exactly why I love Contemporary Romance: So much Love, not much drama, heartwarming scenes and a beautiful HEA. Scar and Shayla are really great together. Scar is a strong and protective man. Shayla is a strong woman with enough courage to pursue her dreams. Beautifully written, this story sits in San Diego and the scenery is so well described, that I want to visit it! The narration was really well done. James Fouhey has a very beautiful voice. I'm looking forward for more books written by this author and narrated by this narrator. I received this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.

We met this book's hero, Brandon Walker aka Scar, in earlier books in this series. He was a tough, trash-talking, rough around the edges ex-Navy SEAL with a heart of gold and a desire to start a charity to help vets. In this book he meets Shayla, a young, innocent farm girl trying to work hard so she can live her dream in San Diego. They are an unlikely couple and that is what makes their relationship work. Just so you know--Scar uses some coarse language but there is no profanity in the book and there is an attempted rape but nothing graphic. I enjoyed their story and highly recommend the book with my rating of 4.5!

Shayla, the waitress, took his order, returned with his breakfast and he was unhappy with his eggs. This was the start of meeting someone incredible but neither of them realized it. Former Navy Seal, now pro-football player, and working on projects for military Vets, Brandon Scar Walker had met the love of his life but didn’t know it. This and that happens in the story where Shay and Scar spend time together getting acquainted with each other and the touristy spots around San Diego. This is a sweet story with Christian values and the author did a great job of describing feelings of new love.

Read in one sitting, Scar and Shayla aren't exactly two people I would put together, but Taylor Hart made it work. I was in awe of the way he swept her of her feet without being overbearing. His tough exterior was just a facade and she melted it from the inside out. There connection, was fiery at the beginning and kept sparking but gentled as they spent time together. I loved that he was a Navy SEAL following his dreams and that she had left her "norm" and was following her dreams. This is such a sweet story! Can't wait for more.

Follow your dreams

This was a sweet story. Definitely would not have expected Scar and Shayla to get to know each other after their first meeting, but date had a different plan. I'm not into sports, but I really enjoy Taylor Hart's books so when I saw this on Prime I decided to give it a shot. I love that the focus was more on his time as a SEAL than football. The chemistry and relationship between Scar and Shayla is great. I love how they help each other with their dreams.

SWEET ROMANCE

Sort of a sweet and tender romance. An ex Seal is in town promoting his current dream and project of a gym and location for Vets to congregate. While meeting his brother, she meets a waitress. When he leaves his phone number for his brother, it accidentally gets mixed into her pocket. Once they connect, a sweet and amazing relationship develops.

If you are looking for a clean romance then you have found it! This book shows someone falling in love without the sex is possible and so sweet. The “code” word they use is absolutely adorable in this book, sorry can’t say any more without that spoiling part of the book. This was a nice, easy book to listen to and I will definitely be looking into more of them.

The Dream Groom

Love the Texas Titans books. The way the vets are brought into the picture with a you women still going to college. The intriguing way the creepy guy was brought into the picture. The vet who protected her from the rapist and fell in love with her and his home town. This was a free Arc and this is my review and mine alone. Norma Gorrill

This is a good clean romance. Scar is great and both characters are very likeable, to me she just comes across as immature, relationship-wise. The drama she was experiencing helped draw them together was at first intense but then seemed to fall flat like something was missing. Scar is patient, protective and lives up to the dream.

Living the dream

When a former navy seal returns to his home town of San Deigo to follow his dream of setting up a network of gyms for vets to have a place to hang out and feel at ease he meets a young woman who is also following her dream. A very entertaining story follows. I thoroughly enjoyed this book.

In this book, Scar Walker, ex-Navy Seal and professional football player is in his home town of San Diego for a few weeks to get his Gym for Vets up and running. He meets Shayla Castle, a waitress who is going to school, but doesn’t have funds for sight-seeing or fun. A great stirring story about trust, living the dream and meeting goals.

I loved the book

Shayla moved to San Diego to follow her dreams, but she got more than she bargained for. Being attacked by a derelict! Rescued by a former Navy Seal, reconnecting with an ex boyfriend leaves a lot of drama and suspense that you'll love as you follow her path to happiness.

Loved this! Great characters and story! However in the story a stalker is introduced then arrested. That is the end he is not mentioned again. I was waiting for more info or history about this character. Wanted a little more. That is the reason for only 4 stars. But overall a good read.

Dreamers

Scar and Shay are both dreamers, working hard to make them come true. Neither had time nor wanted a relationship, but fate and God had different plans. A very clean and enjoyable book with wonderful characters, and the authors descriptions of San Diego are wonderful.
