Hyde #2.5

Until Nox

Rate this book
Not all heroes are good guys.

With a body count on his soul and blood on his hands, Killian Nox lived in the gray. Ruthlessly single-minded, if he wanted something, it was his. And when it came to the gorgeous lass with a fiery attitude, he didn’t just want her.

He needed her.

With southern-bred manners and a snark all her own, Augusta ‘Gus’ Allan was a connoisseur of cheap wine, delicious Mexican food, and good TV. Unfortunately, her taste in men wasn’t as well-developed. When her knight in shining armor turned out to be a douche in tinfoil, Gus never expected her real hero to be a sexy-accented, tattooed beast of a man.

But he was exactly who she needed.

Gus had no clue how comforting a monster in the dark could be...

Until Nox.

Warning: Recommended for readers 18+ due to awesome things like adult content and language... wink, wink, nudge, nudge.

This Happily Ever Alpha Kindle World novella is a crossover of The Hyde Series and Aurora Rose Reynolds' Until Series. It features glimpses of familiar faces from Hyde and Seek, Best Kase Scenario, and Until November. However, it can be enjoyed as a standalone.

Layla Frost

Growing up, Layla Frost used to hide under her blanket with a flashlight to read the Sweet Valley High books she pilfered from her older sister. It wasn’t long before she was reading hidden Harlequins during class at school. This snowballed into pulling all-nighters after the promise of “just one more chapter”.

Her love of reading, especially the romance genre, took root early and has grown immeasurably until it was time to write her own stories.

When she's not writing, Layla Frost is an insomniac with a deep love of iced coffee, tchotchkes, plants, and her hens. She's also the world's okayest mom, but her kids think she's cool... ish.

***5 STARS***

I loved this novella of Killian and Augusta (Gus).

Gus is moving in with her boyfriend but catches him in flagrante delicto (with his pants down) while in the process. Luckily this interaction is being observed by the gorgeous Irish/Scottish neighbor of the boyfriend, Killian and he comes to the rescue.

First of all Killian is the ultimate badass bad boy with his “ayes” and “lass”. I thought he was hot and his protective nature was even hotter. Gus is quite the firecracker and she seemed very real to me. As always I love the author’s writing style which is reminiscent of Kristen Ashley.

The book is included in the “Until Series” by Aurora Rose Reynolds. It’s not needed to read Ms. Reynold’s series in order to follow this book, but I highly suggest that you do because it is a great series overall. A few of her characters are in this book by Ms. Frost.

This book is worth the read. It is a quick read with sizzling passion with a giant of gorgeousness that has a Scottish/Irish accent and works in “enforcement”. Enough said....enjoy

Until Nox is book three in the Hyde series by Layla Frost. I’ve been wanting to read this forever. I had heard so much about it and I have to let you know up front, that it was amazing.

Until Nox by Layla Frost | Goodreads

Augusta (Gus) Allen was officially homeless. Gus lived in Boston and was working on her Master’s degree at MIT. Her roommate had moved in with her boyfriend leaving Gus to find a new apartment. But one bedroom apartments in Boston were hard to come by that were in her price range. So she had agreed to move in with the guy she’d been dating for the last two months. Only that didn’t work out the way it was supposed to either. And Gus finds herself in even more of a pickle. Until the man across the hall, a beast of a man who should scare her but actually has exactly the opposite affect on her, offers her a place to stay, and changes her life forever.

until nox layla frost

Killian Nox wasn’t a good guy. But he wasn’t a bad guy either. He sort of lurked in the gray areas of life. Killian always got what he wanted. And he wanted Gus. She was his obsession, she was his fantasy, she was the pulse that kept him going each and every day.

Killian and Gus begin their relationship as roommates, then as friends. Killian doesn’t let on that he feels more, that the wanting he is keeping inside him is killing him. But once again, Gus is dealt a blow. Only this time, Killian is there to catch her.

There are things these two need to talk about, though, before this can go any further. Killian has to tell her about him, his past, and what he does to make a living now. Will Gus still want him when she knows the truth?

sexy men with tattoos

First of all, let’s talk about Killian Nox. Killian who is half Scottish, half Irish. Killian who has a drop dead sexy accent, especially when his emotions, either lust or anger, are heightened. Killian who is all alpha, you’re mine mentality, who you know could easily kill a man, but treats you with the utmost of care and decency. And there is Gus, who might seem fragile, but is a tough, independent woman who is everything Killian has ever wanted.

This book was perfection. This can be read as a stand alone. I haven’t read any of the other books in this series. This author just does it for me. I love her characters. They are tough yet vulnerable. These two were perfect for each other and the epilogue gives us some adorable glimpses into their future. I look forward to much more by this author!

4 Hot Scot Minus a Kilt Stars ⭐

Second read and review update.

For those of you who are a mood reader, no doubt you can relate. For reasons unknown, I decided to re read a book a previously didn't like. I really have enjoyed this author in the past and it didn't make sense that I hadn't liked Until Nox. Now I've either had a personality upgrade or I'm feeling chipper. Go figure!

Oh, good. First, my dumbass wasted time with a dumbass cheater. Then, I drew a target on my back and put myself in the path of a beast. I’m awesome at life.

Gus (Augusta) Allen had planned to move in with her boyfriend. After a very public and humiliating break-up, she technically becomes homeless. And in this moment Killian Nox becomes her champion and offers her a place to stay after witnessing the entire episode.

While Gus finds herself temporarily housesitting the home of this mysterious man, life is almost too good to fathom. But can these two become something more once she learns the truth about Killian with the hot Scottish Brogue accent, built like a mountain man who uses a gun for work? Quite possibly.

“How was I looking at you?”
“Like you knew I was the monster in the dark, and you wanted to turn the light off and be with me.”

Apart from accents that I am a complete sucker for, I adored Gus the feisty southern belle and the anti hero that was lovestruck on sight. This was a light, sweet read that hits the spot. 💚

It's Live!

Layla Frost has the Midas touch when it comes to not only amazing heroes but also amazing heroines. She delivered sexy, sweet, laugh out loud characters that I fell in love with. I truly could have just kept reading about this great couple.

HERO~Killian Nox- amazing hero. He wasn't necessarily a good guy but he wasn't the worst guy either. He was flawed. He wasn't entirely on the straight and narrow but that was ok because he was doing what others couldn't. Sexy, bold, alpha and that accent....Lord have mercy. He was 'fooking' amazing. I loved how devoted he was to Gus.

HEROINE~ Augusta "Gus" Allen was my kinda heroine. She was spunky and fun. Feisty and outspoken but soft and vulnerable too. Layla hit the nail on the head with Gus. I loved her witty comebacks and hilarious antics. She never came across as nasty or sarcastic. I absolutely adored her (which I rarely say about a heroine). I appreciated that she didn't push Killian away or run from him. She listened to what he had to say.

SEXUAL HISTORY~ Neither were virgins. While neither of their pasts were dwelled upon, it had been a while for both of them.

OM DRAMA ~ Gus had a douchebag ex who didn't cause any issues for the couple. I actually forgot about him the majority of the book.

OW DRAMA~ Zero!! 😁

STEAM While it took a bit to get there, once they were intimate it was full steam.

VIOLENCE Nothing of a sexual nature

SECONDARY CHARACTERS I loved her Meema. You could tell where Gus got her ornery side from. She was a treat for sure.

SAFETY Safe- neither are with anyone else after meeting

ENDING~ The ending was a few months later, then 6 years later and it was adorable! There was a lead in to another story that I will be waiting impatiently for.

Brilliant! Absolutely Brilliant!
Nox.... WOW! And that accent?! Lord have mercy!

You know when you fall in love with every single thing about a book and you drag it on because you never want it to finish, and then by the end, you are left feeling equal part ecstatic and sad that it's over?! Well, those were all my feeling reading this MUST READ gem!

Gus and Nox meet in a horrible but funny situation - poor Gus!!! - and they have an instant and powerful impact on each other.

Wide-eyed, her blonde hair blowing in the wind, she looked wild.
A wet dream.
My wet dream.

Killian Nox.
A man who was as unreal as his name.

Killian offers lending hand, that Gus so desperately needs, with no strings attached, but that samaritan help turns out to be just the start of something beautiful. Even far from one another physically, they get close and closer, and can't help start developing feeling from that huge spark that happened when they first met. The BOOM had happened then and there was no stopping it!

There was only so much perfection one woman could put up with. Killian was smart. He was sweet. He was dangerous, imposing, intimidating, funny, soft, tender.
Intense.

No one called me Killian but her. She didn’t even say it. She moaned it. She whispered it with a small smile, like it was something intimate. My dick always hardened with the need to make her moan it in my ear while I was buried so deep inside of her, the feel of us would be permanently imprinted in our souls. In our fookin’ DNA.

These two were incredible! Each sentence and setting Layla Frost gave us was pure gold!
Gus was so kickass, genuine and funny, seriously, Ms. Frost always knocks it out of the part with the hilarious and sarcastic alias sassy off comments of her characters, and Gus is the epitome of all that. She was fantastic!

If teen me had any clue men like Killian Nox were out there, her tiny, hormone-driven mind would’ve been blown.
Who am I kidding? My mind is still blown when it comes to Killian Nox.
Boom.
Exploded.

I was lust-drunk and Killian-high.

All this time, I’ve been referring to Killian as a beast when the real beast was in his freakin’ jeans.

Nox, OMG! This man truly was a league of his own! Hello, half scottish, half irish, smoking hot and loving and caring while always an ALPHA! Need I say more?! Consider yourselves warned, because this man, his accent and his loving manners will definitely combust panties and ovaries alike!

“It’s not ‘cause you’re fook-all hot— though you damn sure are. It’s ‘cause you’re also funny. Smart as hell. Messy as shit. But sweet and fearless and wild. Fookin’ perfect. That’s why I love you.”

“After a month?”
Killian shook his head. “No. After a lifetime of waiting for you."

Can anyone say PERFECTly imperfect, swoon worthy, scorching hot Hero?! Yep, that's MY man, Killian Nox. The badass name speaks for itself of the grandioseness that is THIS MAN! And the man stands up to Nico and James Mayson! Hello smoking hawt stand off! That's right, the Mayson's were next door neighbors to Gus' Mema - who was just as spunky as her granddaughter, btw - so they all kind of grew up together. Talk about next door eye candy! ;)
Layla Frost always delivers fantastic one click wonders, but this one... WOW! No words can really do it justice. I'll just add again that besides being a MUST READ, it couldn't have been more suited to belong to this Aurora Rose Reynolds, Happily Ever Alpha World, and it's without one of my FAV amongst so many fantastic reads. That should say a lot. So, if you love a witty and funny female lead, and a irresistibly HOT hero, with a panty annihilating ACCENT, that toes the line between right and wrong, but ALWAYS does and gives the world for his woman, Until Nox is for YOU!!! <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

Killian Nox loved me like I was priceless and fucked me like I was unbreakable.
It was perfect.
Actually, my life was.
Perfect and fun and hard and heartbreaking and sexy and stressful and real.
It was perfectly imperfect in a way I hadn’t known it could be until I’d had a beast at my back.
Until Nox.

4.5 swoony, slow burn, and spicy stars

Ah Killain Nox… this man will not only get WiFi and a tv for his woman (who’s only his roommate at the time), but he’ll also reduce/get rid of his criminal life for her 😍.

I mean. It’s not a lot to ask for 🤷🏻‍♀️

Gus/Augusta (mid 20s?) goes to her boyfriend Jake’s place and finds another woman coming out of it 😑. His excuse? It’s been two months since he’s seen her, and a man has needs 🙄 (soooo over that excuse). A huge Scottis/Irish man appears in the hallway as they’re arguing. So she jokingly says she’d rather in with that man than listen to Jake 💅 and the man agrees 😉. She’s a college student and needs a place to stay 🤷🏻‍♀️.

Killian Nox (32) can’t believe his luck. This gorgeous woman’s not only gonna be his roommate while he’s out doing business, but she can also take care of his dog Nolan 👏🏻. He’ll be gone for three weeks, so she’ll have the place to herself. In the meantime, she’ll try to look for her own place.

Little does she know that he’s gonna do whatever he can to convince her to stay 😅. Because, he wants her for himself now 😉.

What I liked/loved:
—the tension 👀. These two want each other

—the 🔥. Uffff. I always appreciate a man who makes sure his woman is happy, and Killian sure does 😉. They kiss at like 60% ish and full 🔥 before 80%.

—Killian looooves eating cereal 🥵💦🔥

—Nolan 🫶. This dog’s so protective 😍 I love him

—the swooony things Killian does 🥹. Yes, he gets WiFi and a tv for Gus, but also makes sure she feels comfortable with him, even suggests that he’ll reduce his not-so-legal line of work 😅. He’ll give up that life for her 🫶. Sigh. Swooooon 🥹

—her grandma 🤣. That woman warmed by heart ❤️

—the banter and funny moments 🤣. I giggled so many times

—JP and MINEMINEMINE 😈. If Killian could mark his territory, he would 🤣

—their connection 🫶. They both have history that, unfortunately, connects them ☹️

—previous couple’s HEAs ❤️.

—the accents in the audiobook 👏🏻. Not only is hers a Southern accent, but his is a smeeeexy Irish/Scottisb one 😉 (and, the audiobook is free with your audible membership… scooooore!)

—the epilogues 😭. I’m such a sucker for them 🥹❤️

What I wanted more of:
—for it to be longer 😭

—more 🔥

—for her ex to get a comeuppance 🤣😑

Overall, I loved this ❤️

Until Nox was my first read by this author and it has me very curious about these characters. For me, there was a little too much going on in the book since it was so short and not everything could be focused on as much as I would have liked. But it was definitely intriguing and I enjoyed getting to meet Nox in all his badass glory.

Audiobook: Narrators - Alex Kydd and Lauren Sweet

If ever there was a book to listen to, this is it! I loved Nox when I read him but holy heck, listening to him pushed this book into a whole other atmosphere! I didn't want it to end. And let me say, I needed more of him even while I had him. I was worried I wouldn't like the performance, that the narrator wouldn't be able to pull his accent off, but I couldn't have asked for anything better than what we were given. I did struggle some with his narration of the female voice - Gus is a southern lass. Ms. Sweet did an amazing job of that southern charm and I fell in love with these characters all over again.

This was a great novella with Ms. Frost’s trademark humor and steamy scenes. Gus, the heroine, was so freaking cute with her inner monologue. She was snarky and smart, tough but kind and gentle. The type of heroine who you’d want as your best friend. Killian Nox was absolutely dreamy and so very swoon worthy! With his Scottish accent I was a goner from the moment he first spoke. Who doesn’t love an accent, and the way he pronounced certain words reminded me throughout the book that he was the real deal.

I loved the way this story unfolded so naturally. Nothing felt forced or contrived and despite its length, it had the feel of a full book. It’s a very low angst read and not high on drama and yet it was constantly moving forward. And the steam factor, while coming a bit later in the book – but again completely organic to their relationship – was off the charts. The chemistry between these two was apparent from their first moments together. They sizzled!

This is a fast paced read that is excellently written with a rhythm that pulls you in and keeps you turning pages. There is no other woman drama but some man drama due to a break up Gus has with her current boyfriend.

I fell in love with Gus’ meema as well and I hate the thought that I might never meet her again in future books. There were some cameos from the Maysons which was fun. This author has an awesome talent for secondary characters. Each one I met I just wanted to know more about them. She did this to me in her first series as well. I need more Ms. Frost!

I. Need. More!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I have been reading a few of these HAPPILY EVER ALPHA books over the past week. None of them have inspired me to pull out my pimp it up review style...sigh.

description

This one was OK. I liked Nox. I liked Gus. But neither spend more than a handful of hours in each others company for 75% of the damn book. And don't even get me started on how Nox is all "sorry about your Grandma almost dying. I got my own stuff going on. So you go ahead an handle it without any support." <-- Not his actual words, but that is the gist of it. In fact, it isn't until his friends talk to him that he heads down to help her out. Then he is all "YOUR MINE. I LOVE YOU." Erhm...NO.

2nd read audiobook review: I love to get the audiobooks of my favorite books to do my many re-reads and this one did not disappoint. Loved it the second time around and loved the narrators.

1st read kindle review: I'm pretty sure I have a girl crush on Layla Frost because she is freaking amazing! Everything she writes turns me into a giddy school girl and I have no shame.

First let me just bring up that amazing cover. I mean really. That tattooed arm. Dress shirt rolled up to the elbows. The hand holding a scotch, a cigar and wearing a skull ring. Enough said.

Another reason I'm so in love with Ms. Frost's books is that she writes fantastic heroines. I love them almost as much as I love the hero's. Gus was hilarious. Her sarcastic nature and her inner thoughts had me laughing out loud. I loved her for Nox. She fit him and was exactly what he needed. Her and her meema were highly entertaining!

Nox is every girls dream of a bad boy! I literally watched the Justice League right before starting this book and after hearing the description of Nox, I coudln't help but envision Jason Mamoa. Let me tell, this was no hardship on me. I loved everything about Nox, especially the way he worshiped Gus.

It was such a treat getting more from the Hyde series and it was fun seeing the Mayson's from the Until series by Aurora Rose Reynolds. Layla rocked this one so hard! I can't wait to see what the other authors are doing with the Kindle World book series. ARC provided by author.

The cliches were plentiful, the plot was not

This had some potential, and it was my first read by this author, but I think I may have chosen the wrong book with which to start my journey. Mainly this seems to be a novella in two different series, one a Layla Frost series called Hyde and one the happily ever alfa series (or world?) created by ARR. There was a shit tonne of cameos and recapping from both series, of which I have not read, so it mostly annoyed me. It’s like being at a dinner party and not knowing anyone. The names being dropped and small mentions of their stories were probably really nice updates for readers who followed either series, but for me it was just confusing. And because this happened several times and I had no investment in any of these past characters, it was pretty boring and I found myself skimming. Frankly, it really happened way too much. It was like this book was written solely to sell those series and not really as a book unto itself.
That leads me to the other issue with this story….there was VERY LITTLE story actually happening. Most of the novella, the couple weren’t even together, and we were told about their communications in text and phone calls, but we never got to read or be present for the conversations. I hate tell over show, always show, authors, always. Telling is too much like reading a summary and not a story and a lot of this book was summary and no actual on page action, except the abundant sex.
The other thing that didn’t sit well with me was the Manic Pixie Dream Girl energy from the heroine. This crazy and quirky woman who babbled and boasted and left her thongs out in the open. I am not really into caricatures of women and this FMC was just one big cartoon.
Speaking of caricatures, the hero was also one. I felt like Frost had a checklist of features of a badass and ticked every box for Killian. He was a gangster and a biker, tattooed, large and bearded, Irish AND Scottish. He said fook in some variation 99 times! But when she had a chance to make him truly badass she backed off and, instead of making him a mobster or a member of an outlaw motorcycle club, she made him a P.I. who HELPED people. Whomp whomp. Take the wind out of my sails why don’t you? Please, if you want to write a stereotype just go full badass. When penning a dark hero make him black, not light grey. Gah!
So overall this was a light romp and a silly novella, but it lacked story and character depth and had waaaaaay too many cameos from other series to be considered a stand alone.

I loved being back in the 'Until' world. Even though this is my first book by this author it felt familiar because I had read all the original 'Until' books. Much like those, there was the alpha male, insta love, and of course, the boom. This was a little on the short side, but I enjoyed Killian and Augusta's story a lot.

Should have gone with her gut instincts…

I spent a lot of time googling *mo chuisle*. See, Killian calls Gus this pretty early on in the piece and I found a site that lets you play it and hear it.

https://www.howtopronounce.com/mo-chu...

Now, I don’t know about you, but I’m a sucker for an Irish or Scottish accent. You’re probably asking why I had to google it more than once. Well, I convinced myself after listening to the pronunciation a couple of times, that I had it fixed in my head. Then, good ole Killian, lets one fly and I NEED to hear it again. But, then I clicked on another link…and it sounded completely different.

The dude in the clip sounds like he is saying - Em-o-chu-esill

Then I heard another clip - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9QB7t...

and she says – khwish-leh

I’m not sure which one to stick with? They both sound good, but it can be bloody confusing choosing which one is correct…hence the muti-google. Are they both correct? Is this some Irish trickery…codding us unfortunate souls? They (those bloody Irish tricksters) probably think I’m a feckin eejit for wasting so much time on this. 😉

Anyways…I really enjoyed Until Nox. Poor bloody Gus, what would be worse than rocking up to the door of the guy you plan to move in with, and finding another woman there? Yeah, luckily, she’s not stupid and dumps his stupid arse. But, little did she know, Gus had a beast at her back…

Killian couldn’t have planned it better. The little one, Gus, is exactly the kind of woman he’s been waiting for. Luckily, her boyfriend is an idiot and let her slip away. Killian Nox is not an idiot and he plans to make her so happy she’ll never want to leave.

For a short story, this one packed a punch. Gus is a quirky character that you can’t help but love and Killian is a bad boy who knows what he wants and does everything in his power to get it.

Until Nox was fast-paced, funny and really steamy. I loved the opportunity to check in with some beloved characters and the chance to meet some new ones.

Another great instalment to the Hyde series and I will definitely be reading more of Layla Frost’s books in the future.

4+ "Sweet, Hot, Alpha" Stars!

Love, loved! I wish I had read the Aurora Rose Reynolds books before. But even not knowing those characters, I enjoyed this one. And it's not necessary to follow the story. Killian and Gus (Augusta) were fun to read. Especially that sexy Scottish/Irish accent Killian has.

I find I like Layla Frost books a lot. Happy reading!

Nox is a sexy beast!!!

I love this story. Most especially the beginning where Gus meets Nox. Nox is such a great guy for letting Gus stay at his place after she finds out about her cheating boyfriend on the day she is scheduled to move in with him. Little does she know that it really isn't the first time that Nox has seen her...

3.5*

This is a crazy OTT read and I liked it.

Gus (Augusta) arrives to move in with her “boyfriend” of two months. She arrives to find him with another woman.

“So, short of him claiming that he slipped and fell into your vagina, then was so scared by it, he started shaking around, there’s really no excuse he’ll be able to provide?”

Gus is now homeless until she can find somewhere else to live.

Enter big scary neighbour Killian Nox. Killian has a thing for Gus. Had since the first moment he saw her so he offers her a place. His place.

Now Gus is a tiny woman and Killian is a beast of a man. But she feels comfortable with him.

Killian is just fabulous. He wants her, will do anything for her. And if he’s ever lucky enough to have her he’ll do everything in his power to keep her.

Wow.

So we have a hot muscled tattooed dream of a man, a tiny woman with a mouth and a temper. A cute protective adorable dog, Nolan. And a southern grandmother.

Like I said I enjoyed this. It felt like a longer Alexa Riley book.

That said this book isn’t for everyone. As a couple they don’t actually spend much time together. It’s completely unrealistic in every way. There’s no chemistry between them. Plus there’s a load of secondary characters which slowed the book for me because I’d no idea who they were.

Horrible female narrator!

DNF @ 10%. I couldn’t take the nasal sounding voice of the female narrator (Lauren Sweet), so I stopped this right away. It was driving me crazy. I had wanted to listen to this one after I listened to Until Mayhem which I really liked. Though I did like where the story was going.

I may read the book version at some point.

This is third in a series and characters from the first two are present enough for me to recommend reading them in order. Some of the action is motivated by events in the previous, in particular, so definitely don't read this if you plan on going back for the others.

This was short and fun and had a lot less suspense than the others. Which is weird because Killian (Nox) is a professional badass. I mean, he hunts down actual dangerous people so it would have made way more sense for this one to have lots of suspense/drama and it had none. Seriously. None. Which I really, really loved!

It doesn't hurt that Killian and Gus are so good for each other. It's a short book and there's not a lot of tension in the relationship and I was so engaged in their being together that I didn't even see it as instalove so much as that they were just really right for each other. Sometimes, that's exactly the right story to tell. What I'm saying is that Frost made this the right length for what it is and I enjoyed myself immensely.

It's probably too simple a story and it's definitely a quick, light read (despite the sometimes-crude language and the darker aspects of Killian's work) so four stars is generous enough. But I'm going with all five because of all the laugh-out-loud moments interspersed as well. That's a combination of right mood and making me laugh and falling for Killian and Gus. It was a perfect combination. Or, as the theme of the story goes, perfectly imperfect...

A note about Steamy: There are three-ish explicit sex scenes putting this in the middle of my steam tolerance, but almost making it higher. I skimmed the second and the third is really short, but it's still very steamy and, like the others in the series, magically adventurous.

Every time I had to read the word "fook" I wanted to roll my eyes. At first it was new and a bit funny. But it got boring very fast.

There was no chemistry between the Heroine and the Hero. They didn't even spend time together. How could they fall in love?

Meema here, meema there. Meema in everybody's business. I can't stand to read about such characters and their meddling and such. Old age doesn't give you any more rights to behave in such a way.

Too many supportive characters, that I don't know about, because I didn't read the books from Aurora Rose Reynolds. I'm just here because of the Hyde Series. It got confusing very fast. And the female characters were a bit off and strange.

Not believable, that a guy lets a stranger use his home for 3 weeks and leaves his beloved dog with her. That's just OTT times ten. And spending thousands of dollars for her. This man just bends backwards for someone he met for 20 minutes.

I'm disappointed, waited a long time for a new book in the Hyde series. It didn't deliver. Moving on.

Insta love with low angst, but still very enjoyable. Killian is a man with ambiguous morals but is still the good guy. Gus is smart, feisty, and takes no crap. Her inner dialogue was clever and made me laugh. The majority of the book takes place over a month-long period so the pacing went pretty fast. They don't even seal the deal until around 75%, which is fine since the romance was a bit rushed. I liked this 3rd book in the series.

Every book by Layla Frost is amazing and Until Nox was no exception!! Gus was a stubborn and cheeky heroine while Nox was an strong Alpha male all the way. They are by far one of my favorite couples. The side characters from previous books where great but the grandmother had me laughing at her antics. The ending was wonderful with a nice epilogue.

Wait wait wait... is this the same author that wrote With Us?!?! Because that book was amazing and this was total crap. Very unrealistic setup, and didn't feel the chemistry at all. Not a fan of "a-dork-able" heroines that babble like morons around the hero. Overall, just a really boring read..

Well, that was just delightful and exactly what I needed. I forgot how much I liked Layla Frost and her dedicated, obsessed heros. She throws in just enough humor to keep it lighthearted but not so much that it feels forced and annoying. Her heroines are smart and self assured and not pathetic idiots that stutter and stammer and die of BBS every time they look at the H. Love that!

I’ll be jumping in to her backlog trying to fully purge my brain of all the awful, cheating, asshole Zeros that seem to be prevalent in romance books these days. Books like this one are what I read when I first got into romance a few years ago and I miss feeling good after reading a book instead of tense and pissed off.
