A collection of signs scattered throughout the ark exhibit. It contains more content than I expected, which makes it a good buy, though still a quick read. Covers the ark, flood legends, Babel, and language development.
Good companion to Inside Noah's Ark: Why It Worked.

A PRESENTATION OF THE ACTUAL EXHIBITS AT THE ‘ARK ENCOUNTER’

The Introduction to this 2017 book by Tim Chaffey explains, “The Ark Encounter is a one-of-a-kind attraction featuring dozens of world-class exhibits within its spacious interior. Themed exhibits allow visitors to experience what life may have been like on the Ark… the teaching exhibits in the Ark effectively communicate biblical topics related to Noah, the Ark, the Flood, and most importantly, the gospel message of Jesus Christ… My assistant … and I had the responsibility of writing the text for all of the signage… We frequently consulted experts in relevant disciplines… All content was thoroughly reviewed by experts before being handed over to our talented graphic designers who transformed our words into attractive signs.”

Here are some examples of the signs:
“What Did the Ark’s Carnivores Eat? After making everything, the Lord stated that people and animals were to eat vegetables (Gen 1:29-30). It was not until after the Flood that God permitted man to eat meat (Gen 9:3). We cannot be sure when certain animals began to eat meat, although the fossil record provides strong evidence that carnivory occurred prior to the Flood… it is still possible that the animals the Lord sent did not eat meat or they could have survived for one year without it… However, if some of the Ark’s animals did eat meat, there are several methods of preserving or supplying their food… through drying, smoking, salting, or pickling. Certain fish can pack themselves in mud and survive for years without water---these could have been0 stored on the Ark.” (Pg. 23)

“How could so few kinds become so many species?... Imagine stepping off the Ark into a world wiped clean by the Flood. The climate and land are fundamentally altered. Plant life has only begun to take root again, and there are fewer varieties then before… this new world is harsh, uninviting, and unfamiliar. How did the animals respond to this alien environment? … we can infer that the reactions were often quite significant… animals preserved in the early post-Flood rock layers reveal that many of the Ark kinds adapted quickly… animals began exhibiting post-Flood specializations… that helped them gain footholds in the post-Flood earth.” (Pg. 33)

“SPECIALIZED DIETS: How could Noah’s family provide the proper food for animals with unique diets? For example, vampire bats drink blood, anteaters eat ants, and koalas … [eat] leaves of the eucalyptus tree… the koala’s Ark ancestors were less specialized… they may have eaten a much wider variety of food, including grains, fruits, and vegetables.” (Pg. 41)

“POLYSTRATE FOSSILS … are found around the world. For example, certain fossilized trees, some of which are upside down, extend through many feet of rock layers. Slow and gradual processes cannot account for the build-up of sediment layers around the upright trees before they rotted. A more reasonable explanation is that the trees were buried rapidly as a result of catastrophic sediment deposition.” (Pg. 77)

“THE ICE AGE: The global Flood devastated the entire earth … Repercussions of this catastrophe rocked the planet for many decades… Glaciation during the Ica Age stretched across virtually all of Canada… According to the Creation/Flood model, the effects of the Flood continued for many years, ultimately bringing about the earth’s single Ice Age. This unique event would have peaked and greatly diminished within a few hundred years of its start… After the Flood, massive volumes of water would have remained on the land masses in inland seas… With so much water removed from the ocean, sea levels would have been … exposing land bridges to nearly every continent on the globe. In addition to these natural bridges, land animals could have reached distant shores via ... swimming, floating debris, and with people on boats.” (Pg. 84-85)

“IS CLIMATE CHANGE NATURAL?... No one denies that climates have changed. But is man responsible for causing rising temperatures?... Numerous factors contribute to global weather patterns---sunspot activity, greenhouse gases, volcanism---and experts can be found on either side of the climate debate. Manmade greenhouse gas emissions were certainly not responsible for two major periods of climate change centuries ago. The Medieval Warm Period (c. AD 800-1200) saw warmer than average temperatures that were even higher than the warmest years of the past few decades. The Little Ice Age (c. AD 1400-1800) brought cooler average temperatures than those experienced in modern times.” (Pg. 94)

“PEOPLE GROUPS: Our superficial differences are merely the result of different combinations of features that humans have had since creation. The variety among different people groups could have occurred in a few generations in the small populations that split off from Babel. If Noah and his wife had middle brown skin, their children could have exhibited the whole range of skin tones form light to dark… we can estimate the skin tones produced by a couple who both have middle brown skin and the genetic variability for light through dark skin.” (Pg. 101)

This book will appeal to ‘Young Earth Creationists’ studying the Ark.

This book was very helpful, even if you have not yet been to the Ark Encounter. I plan to use it when studying and teaching the book of Genesis. Highly recommended.

We visited the Ark for a homeschool conference and I was rushed at times and didn’t have the time I needed to read all of the signage. I started snapping pictures of things I wanted to read and remember later, then I found this book! I was so grateful to be able to go through and read about the exhibits I had just walked through and feel like I learned and retained so much by doing so.

I'm so glad I got these books (the ark and creation museum signs). there was so much information at the ark and my kids were not going to be patient enough for me to read everything. I've read every answers in genesis book so I wasnt exactly expecting to learn anything new from these but I was pleasantly surprised at how much I learned so these were very much worth the money.

Very quick, informative read with great infographics. The fascinating info sparked a lot of questions that weren’t all answered in the book, but it made me think of things I’d never considered before.

Borrowed from dad. Read through in an evening when the kids played with Asher outside and gave me a rest. Some things were new and fascinating to me — especially about the animals. The ice ages info is also very interesting— but I had already heard a lecture on it.

Excellent book of all the exhibit signs used in the Ark Encounter. Unless you have a lot time to spend there reading everything, plus an excellent memory there is no way to truly get the whole benefit of the experience. Thus, the benefit of this book, especially for future reference.

This is such a great book, particularly for those of us with young children who visited the Ark Encounter and were not able to read the signs. I'm so glad they sell this book!

This book is a must if you make a trip to The Ark Encounter. If you take in everything on your visit (like the zoo, virtual reality experience, etc.), then you probably won’t have time to also read every sign. It’s also difficult to read many signs if you have smaller children along. Therefore, this is a great companion to your visit. It’s also a great book to have even if you haven’t visited, as it provides lots of information in an easy to understand and visually appealing format.

I'm impressed by the amount of thought and effort that went into constructing a plausible understanding of the Ark able to withstand the Flood. There are so many fascinating pieces of information that are in here and so many more integrations with modern geology than I expected from the Creation Museum. The entire book is littered with observed events that demonstrate fantastical possibilities, and though they did not quote sources, my research found most of them confirmed even from secular research. My only complaint with this book, as always, is the lack of academic citations. I love the work done, but I wish I could verify and learn more about it myself using cited literature!
