Well, that was fast! I pulled it out of the box at 6 pm and finished reading at 8:30. It's just one of those sorts of books you can't put down! I'm always up for a good Eason suspense and this one was a good one.

Kaylee is threatened by all sorts of stuff (stalker? Kidnapper? Assassin?) and it's hard to sort out who the real threat is. Joshua, the doctor/MMA fighter who fought off her kidnapper and then delivered her baby, is also the son of the woman her newly-reformed father is engaged to. Lots and lots of stuff going on all through the story, obviously! I really enjoyed it and would recommend it.

This is an engaging romantic suspense novel which starts with someone trying to kidnap a pregnant lady, Kaylee Martin, but being thwarted by the timely intervention of Dr Joshua Crawford. He also gets to deliver the baby and to discover she’s the daughter of the man his mother is planning to marry! Your interest is grabbed from the very start and taken along this roller coaster, fast paced adventure to the very end. The heroine is a determined young lady who has had misfortune in her life and recently being the target of a stalker. Now she’s returning to her home town and more attempts are made on her life but Joshua keeps coming to her rescue and is persistent in his efforts to keep her and her baby son safe. Can they discover who is after her? Can they both resist their attraction to each other?

This is a contemporary romance, with plenty of twists and turns to keep you guessing - especially toward the end of the book where everything comes to a climax. I liked the plot and the characters. The family dynamics and relationships were gently explored. It is an enjoyable contemporary romance and I don’t think you need to have read the earlier books in this series to enjoy this one. Why the lower rating? I somehow didn't feel the suspense for much of the story. Someone pointed a gun and there was no fear there . . . . I'm not quite sure how to explain it, but there was just something slightly missing to make me connect with the events. However, that's probably just me and you may well love it. I still enjoyed it and wanted to know what happened and why.

I requested and was given a copy of this novel, via NetGalley, with no obligation. This is my honest review of the book after choosing to read it.

Vanished in the Night is the 6th book in Eason's Wrangler's Corner series and one that I enjoyed quite a bit. There were a few things in the story that bugged me a little bit, but for the most part I found it to be a suspense and interesting read.

I liked the characters. The romance wasn't a favorite, but it wasn't bad either. I liked how the hero of the story right away was protective of infant -- that was sweet. The mystery was intense and definitely made for a quick read, as I wanted to see how it would end.

All in all, I enjoyed Vanished in the Night and recommend it if you like romantic suspense. You don't need to read this series in order.

The author has given us a mother’s worse nightmare, and you will be wondering who is the target here, and it will keep you guessing right to the very end. After the last page is turned you will be asking why, and while I found that I had read this in one sitting, you will be quickly page turning.
With danger lurking from the very beginning to the end, there is never a dull moment. With the birth of a new baby, kidnapping, bullets flying, and questioning the marriage of their parents, this one should keep your attention.

I received this book through Net Galley and the Publisher Harlequin, and was not required to give a positive review.

I liked it well enough. The suspense was good. The stalker angle was good except for the cliched gift he left behind. I would have loved that to be spruced up and made unique. I really liked that Kaylee struggled to see her dad in a new light than his dark, old ways. It is sometimes hard to give people a second, third, or hundredth chance when they've already broken our trust, and I think Kaylee's journey is one worth reading for that aspect.

Walter was amazing. I love it when crusty old vagrants actually have big hearts. So many people are misunderstood, and I could really connect with him because of that.

I didn't care for how both the leads were trying to control their parent's future. If the leads are in their twenties or thirties, then the parents clearly would be into their forties or fifties, at least. How do those "kids" think they have any right to dictate what their parents should or should not do? This was a huge dampener for me, as it seemed poor motivation to bring the leads together or to bring the leading man back into his hometown (telling his mom what to do about a certain aspect of her life was the only reason he claimed for coming back). That was weird.

Overall, a good suspense story with twists and good moments to catch your breath.

With a smart and capable heroine, a sweet and caring hero, dealing with the worst nightmare to any mother, while constant danger lurking around, and life changes at the doorstep, the story has all the elements of a great and entertaining romantic suspense at its hands.
I loved that Kaylee Martin, the heroine, was smart with her safety, was careful and considerate of the danger lurking around, and didn't take risks that she would regret later on. She doesn't stubbornly hold her convictions but is willing to see the other side of the matters and be flexible when needed. She has some serious issues from her childhood to be dealt with, to get over the resentment towards her father, and accept the change he has gone through.
Joshua Crawford came to town to stop his mother from marrying Kaylee's father, yet Kaylee, and especially her newborn son Joshua delivers, steal his heart and attention. Joshua is an MMA fighting doctor, who loves babies, and whose heart was previously broken by a single mother. He is determined to keep Kaylee and little Duncan safe, he is a kind and sweet man, willing to go to lengths to protect those he cares about.
The danger and the threat towards Kaylee and little Duncan are constant. It seems that there is no safe place where the culprits do not find their way into. A bit more edgy fear-factor could have built the tangible intensity to another level, yet the suspense is believable, the action harsh and deadly at the end.
The inner turmoil Kaylee goes through, questioning her faith in God, the possible change in her father, the loss of her mother, and then the danger to her child gives the story a measure of angst, tumult, and a chance for her to grow. In midst of all the trouble and danger, the safe haven and shelter Joshua provides to Kaylee in his arms is rather adorable. The connection between them is palpable, as it is between Duncan and Joshua as well. I just wondered through the story, why didn't Kaylee breastfeed her infant, newborn son? From the very first, there is a bottle and formula mix in the picture and I find that curious.
A charming and gentle love story with dangerous suspense and action, a dose of threat and angst, with an apprehension of upcoming parental marriage are the elements that deliver an entertaining and engaging tale of love, life, change, and faith.

Reader Beware: Don't let your guard down for a minute! 'It ain't over 'til it's over' definitely applies to this gripping, eye-ball tripping, hold-your-breath-until-your-turn-blue romantic suspense. Phew! I have reader whiplash!

What a crazy unique way for Kaylee and Joshua to meet! I don't think I've read anything quite like it. The frantic energy just leaps off the page...and doesn't let up. Eason expertly draws the tension chapter after chapter. If I wasn't on edge over the creepy stalker angle I was having heart-palpitations over the romance. Love the way this author finds the perfect balance between both. And there's a lovely inspirational thread about stepping out in faith - taking risks and trusting God. Pretty much everything you could want in a romantic suspense -- the only way to improve Vanished in the Night would be to make it longer. :-)

My review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense, Vanished in the Night. This is the sixth book in the Wrangler's Corner Series, this has been a great series. I really like Lynette's books. She does excellent intrigues. This story is well written, action packed, and fast paced. You are going to love this one.

Dr. Joshua Crawford is headed back to Wrangler's Corner to stop his mother from marrying an alcoholic; when man runs a car off the road and tries to abduct a very pregnant young woman. Joshua, a mixed martial arts expert. manages to stop her stalker and the man drives off. The woman turns out to be the daughter of the man his mother is to marry. She is determined to go to the hospital but the baby is determined to arrive now. Joshua delivers the baby on the side of the road. The ambulance arrives, along with the sheriff. Joshua reports all that has happened. He is still very concerned as the man said he would be back. Can he protect Kaylee and the baby.

Kaylee Martin tried to call for help when she goes into labor but no one answered. She is determined to get to the hospital so she takes off on her own. She would not have her baby on the side of the road. She's then run off the road and a man tries to drag her into a van. She is rescued by a man. She doesn't recognize Joshua at first but then she allows him to help deliver the baby. Joshua is the son of the gold digger that is trying to marry her father. They decide to work together to break up the romance. They soon forget their parents as they must deal with a stalker that is determined to kidnap Kaylee and her son.

A struggle to stay ahead of the stalker and find out who is trying to kidnap them. They still try to stop their parents marriage but God has a plan. A plan for a hope and a future for all of them. God has a plan for you too, a good plan and not for evil. Give Him your heart and watch Him move in your life.

"Vanished in the Night" is a romantic suspense novel. Though a part of a series, it worked as a standalone. The book is short, so things happened very fast. The hero and heroine fell in love practically as soon as they met for the first time. There were only a few attacks on the heroine before the ending suspense sequence happened. There weren't very many suspects. It was more about figuring out who was doing what and where to find them.

I liked the main characters. The heroine picked her battles, was willing to accept help, made good decisions about safety, and could think on her feet and defend herself. The hero was caring, a doctor, and a mixed martial artist who was good at defending her. The physical danger to Kaylee and her baby caused the suspense.

There was no bad language or sex. Overall, I'd recommend this enjoyable novel.

I received an ebook review copy of this book from the publisher through Netgalley.

This book started off grabbing my interest and didn't let go. Joshua is coming home to stop his mother's marriage. How he saved Kaylee and helped her was so great. Him a doctor and her a nurse was great and sets it up great for him to take over a practice in Wrangler's Corner.

Watching Joshua try to keep his distance from Kaylee and Duncan was touching. He didn't want to hurt them or be hurt in return. He thought he had a plan for his life but sometimes God has different plans if we will listen. Unraveling the mystery surrounding someone targeting Kaylee was great. I had it in my mind one way and then changed it and I have to say that I enjoyed how the author worked it all out.

It was a 4/5 for me. I cannot wait to visit Wrangler's Corner again!

Thank you to the publisher for the review copy of this book. I received this book in exchange for an honest review and the opinions stated above are 100% mine.

Kaylee was in labor when she was found in the process of being kidnapped at the side of the road, thankfully Dr. Joshua was there to help her out and run the kidnapper off. Also turns out that Dr. Joshua mother will be marrying Kaylees father so quite the coincidence. Thing is things only go from bad to worse as a couple more attempts at her and her child's life but luckily Dr. Joshua as well as others will be there to keep an eye out for the two.

Sheesh this book was nuts. There was so much going on, so many twists and turns and girl can't catch a break. What I loved about this book was that there was barely enough time before something else occurs keeping the characters as well as the readers on their toes on wondering what would happen next. Wondering how the kidnapper was getting close to her and why everything was playing out the way it did. This was such a great book I really enjoyed it and was hooked from the view start and think you reader will too. Highly Recommend!

Danger is popping up around every corner! An exciting plot grabs out attention from the start and holds it throughout in Lynette Eason’s latest in the Wrangler’s Corner series. The characters are complex and well developed and the story line is exciting. I enjoyed it!

Dr. Joshua Crawford happens to be in the right place at the right time to stop Kaylee Martin from being abducted … and then to delivery her baby boy! He’s not sure what’s going on with all of this danger, but he can’t bring himself to leave her side without knowing she and her baby are going to be safe!

Kaylee Martin is stressed out enough by moving back home to Wrangler’s Corner just before her baby is due, but when someone tries to kidnap her while she’s in labor, she doesn’t know what to think! She had a stalker recently … but he’s in custody … isn’t he??

When Dr. Joshua Crawford saves expectant mother Kaylee Martin from kidnapping, he doesn’t realize that she is the daughter of his despised soon-to-be stepfather – or that he is soon going to get completely caught up with her and her new baby. With his MMA training and his kindness to her, Kaylee can’t fight her attraction for Joshua, and the feeling is entirely mutual. But with danger stalking Kaylee and her baby at every turn, is it all too much for Joshua – and God – to take? It may be too much for the casual reader, even if Joshua and God can deal with it all. – Clara Shipman

Vanished In The Night is one great big horror story - ok - a horror story for every Mom out there - someone stalking to kill you and most of all your baby. Your precious gift from the Almighty. The good Doctor was able to help the pregnant stranger can he help the new Mama? Who is the stalker/killer? What is GOD's plan for them? Do they listen to HIM? I received a copy of this book from the Publisher and Netgalley; all of the opinions expressed in this review are all my own.

Lynette Eason never fails to disappoint. Her book Vanished in the Night was full of twists and turns. There was no way to figure out who the culprit was until the very end. At the beginning of the story, Dr. Joshua Crawford came home for one reason and one reason only. To stop his mother from getting married to Kaylee Martin's father. On his way home, he stumbles upon Kaylee herself as she's trying to fight off an attacker. He ends up delivering her baby on the side of the road, and very soon realizes that maybe his mother's marriage isn't so bad after all.

Joshua stops an abduction of Kaylee and has to deliver her baby within minutes of all of this. He had been returning home to stop his mother from marrying a man he didnt think was right for her, little did he expect to become involved in danger with the mans daughter. Now he must spend his time keeping Kaylee and her baby safe from the gunman.
Will he find love and happiness with this new little family or will the situation be to much for him and he goes back to his old life? Grab your copy today and be ready to read every page until the very end.

I really enjoy Ms. Eason's writing. Each book she writes hooks me into the storyline quickly and does not fail to keep me interested until the final page! I enjoy the highly honorable heroes that she writes about and the brave heroines that create happily ever after endings right beside their men. This book did not disappoint. Can't wait to read her next book, whoever she chooses to write about!

I enjoy Lynette Eason. Some of her books are extremely intense but this one is a fun mystery read with some romance thrown in. I enjoy Lynette's books because although there is romance they do not contain sex scenes and extreme violence. This book is no exception. I like the Wrangler's Corner series of books. I totally recommend her books especially if you like Christian based mysteries.

This book was really great! I enjoyed it very much. It moved me along with all the main characters went through and the ones who shared the story with them. It was touching, sweet, sad, scary, intense, hopeful, downright wrenching heart and soul and hoping for the best. It is like a who's around the corner, what is that shadow? Kind of book.

Not my favorite Eason book, but I also realize it's part of the Harlequin series and they have a certain criteria and I also listened to it as an audiobook.

The premise was good and the characters were good just not great. But I love Eason's writing and I'll keep reading her for as long as she's writing books!

A good read
Good characters
A bit unrealistic in the infant situation - but - it IS fiction after all. LOL

Repetitions that should be gone -

I'm keeping it and will most likely re-read it when I get to that shelf again!
