This series continues to surprise and get better with each book. After the action packed 3rd novel, I assumed that J and Glynn would slow down and follow the tried and true method of creating a trilogy and sort of reinventing yourself for the third while entering a new trilogy. That's not exactly what happens here. Instead we get the "Siege" part of our story, if you'd like to categorize it. Our heroes are surrounded on every side by their growing list of enemies from books 1-3. The Cygoa are as bloodthirsty (yet oddly sympathetic in their mission) and the Valk are as mysterious and terrifying as ever (let's not forget J excels at horror). As such, this is less of an adventure than the other novels, since most of that action takes place in one area.

Cliffhangers from the third novel are immediately addressed, so anyone worrying about their favorite characters fates don't have to wait long.

A lot of our main characters have been apart since book one and we get some long awaited reunions.

The violence is taken up a notch this go around which I always appreciate.

Certain characters who have had hazy roles in the main narrative throughout the series are explained and the pay off for the time we've spent with them felt.

Seren continues to steal the book every step of the way.

If you've read books 1-3 you won't be disappointed. If you haven't start with book 1 and I think you'll have a good time. Despite these being fairly epic in scope they are also quick and easy reads.

A GJ/JT. SYFY Action Adventure (SOTL) (DB - 4)

GJ/JT. have penned a SYFY action adventure titled "Sons of the Lost", which begins with our female huntress off to see if she can find a weapon that equalizes their small force with over powering force. The Elk bing assaulted from different areas as they continue their search for a safe heaven. The huntress returns with an old weapon that is new to them. A rifle with ammunition. The equalizer. This is an excellent read for the genre.....DEHS

The tension mounts as the Elk 's winter draws to an end and decisions must be made as to where to go next. Two enemy tribe must also be dealt with, but some of the lost have been found.
I love this series and, as things begin to draw to a close, the tale takes on a new urgency, the action gets more desperate and all the threads begin to draw together. This is, without a doubt, the best of the books so far.

Excellent

Another outstanding chapter in the world of Dustfall. The clans led by Jonah and the Elk are on the move again. The promise of a new home lies ahead and enemies on their trail. The ancient enemy of their past, the unnatural enemy from below, and even the planet itself seems intent to not allow them to find peace. What options are left?

Exciting read

An extremely dark post apocalyptic future is the setting for the Dustfall books and it is great to see two genuinely gifted writers collaborating brilliantly on an epic tale of survival in a world litterally torn apart. It is a story that gets better and better with each book so I'm really looking forward to the next installment.

Yet another great installment of this series, where enemies surround Jonah's ever-increasing clan. The Valk is eerie, to say the least, while the Cygoa is on a revengeful quest - but where does such a mindset end that vicious cycle?

It's descriptive with few words, atmospheric where it needs to be with well-defined characters set within a destroyed world.

Excellent and highly recommended.

The tension build up and the Cygoa saga pay off was well worth the read! I'm continually impressed with Jonah as a character and Seren's journey has been the cherry on top. Seren and her journey back to the Elk has been really rewarding as well, overall, this book has been great. I can honestly say that I'm excited for the final book and I'm looking forward to seeing how James ends it.

Like action?

This entire series is well written and follows a group sometimes on separate paths but all living in a world centuries after much of it has died.
Earthquakes that split the Earth, tame wolves and rusting ruins set the stage for epic battles.
And the word is nock😉

Is a decent continuation of the preceding book, not much in terms of new info, but mostly just building on previous. This book covers like 3 settings.

Brilliant
Absolutely better with every book in the series. A beautiful and dark dystopian tale. Wonderfully written and I eagerly consumed every word.
