This was interesting collection. Before anything I would like to state that omnibuses are usually rather tricky - you might enjoy some comic or story teller when you read the stories as they get published but when you try to read them all at once it sometimes gets overwhelming.

First story is Asterix' adventure in far away India. Story is rather straight forward and jokes on famous Gaul troubadour aside story is pretty much straight forward veni-vidi-vici tale.
It seems like they tried to make a crossover of sorts between Iznogood and Asterix but at the last moment decided against it.

Second story is about feminism and its effect on the rather macho-man society in the Gaul village. It is funny to see how relations in the village change in a rather weird and funny way. I suppose that this story might irritate some with ultra PC mindset today (especially unexpected reaction from Asterix) but it is funny to see how everyone in the village is OK with women rights except when they are directly affected.

Third and the last story finally reveals why Obelix is forbidden to drink the magic potion. Same as the first story this one seems little bit rushed and ... uninspired might be the best word I guess but nevertheless entertaining. Atlantis adventure could easily be story in itself but here it is just rather brief event which looks like a missed opportunity.

So all in all solid collection, highly recommended to all fans of Asterix, Obelix and Co :)

These are stories that never read ,they go beyond from my time reading in this world so reading these was a like going back to my childhood, out of the 3 stories the secret weapon was the strongest and most interesting one them with how the women of the village see themselves in there small world plus how women themselves are in the Asterix world, the weakness was the last one Obelix all at sea witch started well but didn't have an ending so they came up with something that didn't seem to fit ,if could be my age now in my 50s not the child who was glued to these stories but all it was enjoyable

My favorite charactor is Asternix because he is funny and strong.

What suprised me in the book was the magic carpet because it could fly.

I ould not change the ending of the book because it was very interesting.

Possibly not as punny as the earlier ones with Monsieur Goscinny et Monsieur Uderzo but any Asterix story is exquisitely composed and this triple prizer is hits all the nostalgic spots, and supports a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon.

Stories are starting to get sillier; Obelix turning into a kid and then solving it by going to Atlantis (which was an island, not an underwater city)..........

The Magic Carpet: I did not get what I expected here. I've heard a lot of good things about this being a "classic" work, but it was extremely disappointing on that end. The art style is solid, though not really fantastic, but the writing is totally uninteresting. There are some gags, but nothing very funny, and a plethora of puns ranging from the mildly-amusing to the just-obnoxious to the lost-in-translation. (Question: "Is anyone coming?" Answer: "The answer is a lemon.") The plotline is vaguely adventurous but doesn't really draw me in. It's entirely possible that this is aimed only at children, but I got no enjoyment out of it. (I am very able to enjoy some childish literature, particularly graphic fiction, if it's good.) I thought that maybe, since this volume is so late in the run, that the series had exhausted itself by this point, but the comparative ratings don't seem to bear this out. I'm completely befuddled why this work is so well-respected.

Towards the end, the stories weren't as fun as the earlier ones. Still good on their own though (except for All at Sea which is a "meh" at best).

I was disappointed in this one, was soo not like Asterix to hit a girl even the one that kissed him, and few other things that were changed, probably will just re-watch the movies.
