Whew chile! Where do I even begin?!!! Anonymous Acts was amazing! It was heavy on the suspense and there were so many twists and turns, I couldn't keep up. The storyline was full of page turning goodness. Poor Monica. She couldn't trust nobody. The betrayal was real in this book. She was surrounded by nothin' but backstabbers. But, Wick came through for Monica when she desperately needed him. I just love how they met. It was so taboo. Wick and Monica thought they'd never cross paths with one another but, fate had other plans for them. I loved how nothing was as it seemed. Just when you think you know who the killer and saboteur is, CCJ hits us with a major plot twist. My mind was blown in that last chapter because, I did NOT see that coming! As with any CCJ book, we got to catch up with old friends. Monica just so happens to be besties with Kora, Nubia, Blake, and Chloe. We also got to see Demi (Desiree Byers' twin) do her thang. Now that I know Marcus, Naomi, Renata, and Quentin are the characters in the If You Can series, I'll be moving that up on my TBR ASAP! Anonymous Acts was such a good book. I love that it was outside the box of what we normally expect from CCJ. It had a great plot, suspenseful enough to keep you guessing, romance, steamy sex, and humor. Read this book ladies and gents. You will not be disappointed.
Lawd a mercy, CCJ!! This story was pure amazingness!! The suspense element. The spicy, sexiness—hot DAMN! I didn’t know what this book was about going in and I’m so glad I read it this way. Suspense. Murder. Hot & spicy scenes. Yesss, please!! I literally couldn’t figure out who was behind everything. That’s a brilliant author right there!!
Wesleigh & Jakobi are as always a dynamic duo. Two of my favorite narrators making pure magic on my earbuds. Bravo!!
This book was sooo good. I was captured right at the first paragraph and honestly until the very last page. The story was cryptic in the most captivating way. The whodunit kept me on the edge of my seat. This story is beautifully layered. It wasn't a dark suspense, but it was enough to keep me engaged with a healthy dose of romance and sex. I'm just now getting into the romantic suspense trope, and so far, I like it here. CCJ is a GOAT, and she delivered. 10/10 would recommend.
Best! Book! Ever!!!! OMG, Anonymous Acts was sooooooooo good! The characters, the suspense, and the sex made for a phenomenal storyline. The narrators did an awesome job. They really brought life into the characters. I just can't say enough good thing about Anonymous Acts. This book will stay on repeat and I'm buying the paperback! Great job CCJ! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
4.5 ⭐️ This was an enjoyable read with several appearances from previous characters. CCJ did a wonderful job at balancing suspense with spice. I knew who was behind it because of the information we received; I only prayed Monica would wake up and remove her emotions from the equation. But I would admit that the story twist was insane because why would so much attention revolve on one person?Anonymous Acts fulfilled its purpose. I liked how we didn't know where Wick and Monica's relationship was going to finish since it wasn't clichéd. But Monica had God on her side because everyone who harmed her was dealt with.
I haven’t read many books by CCJ but out of the ones I’ve read so far, this is my favorite.
Monica & Wick 🖤
I really enjoyed this thriller romance. The first half of the book definitely had me on the edge of my seat trying to figure out what was going on. I loved the relationship between Monica and her homegirls. They supported, encouraged, and protected each other. we love to see it! I liked the chemistry between Monica and Wick. He was everything Monica needed. He listened, he was protective, and he had a job unlike Kellen’s trifling behind.
Christina!!! I mean!!! This was equal parts suspense and spice!! 🔥🥵 I mean she came out of the gate swinging in the first chapter! I really enjoyed the storyline and was guessing until the very end. The way things unfolded had me feeling like I was watching an episode of law and order. I enjoyed all of the cameos from my favs….Nubia, Cora, Sava, Markus, I missed y’all lol!!!Wesleigh and Jakobi stay bringing the heat per usual. If they are narrating I’m definitely listening!
I love this story by CCJ, this wasn't the typical romance novel...In fact, this was actually a murder mystery that happen to feature a couple that ultimately gets together as a couple. Monica and Chadwick were the perfect pairing. This story had so many twist and turns and a boat load of betrayals....hell, at one point Monica didn't know who she was able to trust....but, one thing for certain, she knows that she can always count on her girls....Kora, Blake, Nubia & Chloe...I call these girls the fantastic five....definitely the kind of girlfriends you want in you life...I love when CCJ intertwine the ladies in any story....definitely some of my favorite characters. This story served as host to some other great characters from the If you can series....to help Monica & Wick get to the bottom of who actual kill or killers were. Outstanding character and story development....The perfect pairing to voice these characters.
4.5 stars So good (I mean, obviously…it is CCJ)! I *only* wanted a bit more of the romance, but the suspense storyline was so good and I know this one will stick with me.
Adorei esse livro. Inteligente, com um suspense intrigante e um romance envolvente. Os personagens são fortes e sabem o que querem. Gostei muito dessa autora. Parabéns!
Well these folks were some psycho MFS. Imagine you are minding your business, growing your brand while the people closest to you are colluding with the biggest opp you aren't even aware you have. Your husband is one of your haters and he is using you to help fund the lifestyle's of him and his mistress. Rather than deal with him and risk the fallout to your business, you just take all the BS he gives you and confide in a special online friend who doesn't know who you are. This is Monica's life. When ish hits the fan and the threats move from her business, to her life she seeks help. She unintentionally crosses paths with Wick, the man she has confided in anonymously for years. Their relationship and the story is a bit of a slow burn as the foundation is laid for the crazies.
Wick was protective, smart, and I appreciated the way he cared for Monica. This was a layered story and it was almost too much. However, I like a little mystery with the love story in the background. This was a different story and I enjoyed it.
Não consegui largar enquanto não terminasse! Narrativa ótima! Personagens maravilhosos e história bem interessante! ❤️❤️❤️ Tudo o que eu precisava, depois das últimas leituras... Com certeza lerei mais livros dessa autora!
Wow! I thought I had it figured out, but I didn’t. Full of suspense until the end. It wasn’t the typical CCJ book that I’ve read but I enjoyed it. A murder mystery and romance all in one book. There were even a few characters from previous books. This was a good one.
The sex scenes are chef kiss but the whole storyline is brilliant. Loved how they were friends for years and seeing them finally meet was everything. They clicked instantly or should I say picked up where they left off as if they saw each other on a regular. The dynamic between the two is amazing.
Anonymous Acts was a perfect mix of suspense, love, and strong friendships. Wesleigh and Jacobi made the story even more engaging—bringing out every bit of tension and emotion. Definitely a 5-star read!
this book was..a LOT. so good. so many freakin plot twists! so many!!!!! but i thoroughly enjoyed the character development and all of their twists and turns.
This book had a little of everything; murder, mystery, sex, a little bit of trauma (look…that’s what I like, ok), and a twist.
So Monica has a beauty business. She’s married to a cheating pos who is living off her in a condo she pays for with his mistress who is pregnant. Monica has a lil online boo that she has video sex sessions with to curb her insomnia. Her computer is hacked, her husband is murdered, her husbands best friend turned out to be obsessed with her, and her fathers wife is basically behind it all.
I didn’t particularly like the motive, which was Monica is perfect and everybody either wants her or is jealous of her. Miranda hated that her husbands love child was successful, Amanda, who turned out to be her sister, wanted both the men who wanted her, her husband thought she slept with his boss and that was why he was fired and blackballed from the finance industry, and Asher was literally obsessed with her.
Maybe I missed it, but the identity of the hacker and the motivation for destroying the business wasn’t explicitly stated. So we know Miranda was trying to destroy her life because she hated that she was successful and that her husband now wanted to get to know his daughter. But that part seemed too sophisticated and we were given too much detail for it to kind of have just been part of the overall plot to destroy Monica.
So with those criticisms, you see it still got 5 stars. The story was just good and the chemistry between Wick and Monica had me fanning myself child. It wasn’t even a whole bunch of sex but when we got to those parts, especially that first one…baby I’m bout to just go back and listen to that part again.

I do not know how I missed this book in Mrs CCJ’s world but honey!!!!! I’m glad I found it AND it is narrated by two of my favorite Wesleigh and Jakobi!!!!!! Chileeeeeeee!!!! I was not ready for Mrs CCJ to hit me with a suspense storyline and it has the nerve to start out HOT!!!! Ms Wesleigh did that scene!!!!!! I will not share not one detail about this story. All I will tell you is GET INTO IT! The plot and its twist kept me guessing until the end! Sandy and Wick held me hostage!
I haven’t read a CCJ book that I haven’t loved yet!
The characters were WELLLL developed.
The twists and turns weren’t predictable yet realistic!
There was just the right amount of spice.
Baby, Monica could not catch a break. They say God gives his hardest battles to his toughest soldiers and she must have been the STRONGEST of ‘em all. I love her and Wick’s relationship. She deserved that true companionship after her weak asx husband.
Monica and Wick - I love the suspense, The whodunit and the intimacy. I read the if you can series before starting this one a few months back and I enjoyed getting to know lord of the 5 star crew. An enjoyable read. Romance and crime fiction! Sign me up!
I was on edge with this book! I thought this book was perfect follow up to the Catch Me if You can Series! It was sooo many loops and turns! Also the computer love between Monica and Wick I was here for it!! I feel like with each thriller CCJ writes the better it becomes! This was such a good read! Idk what I would add to make it better! And in the book it’s crazy how you can be doing everything right and not realize a hater is right beside you. Like it was insane the crazy amount of drama Monica went through while dragging her love interest in it too! It was a lot going on but it all made sense with the big lead up in the end! I read this book via audio and Wesleigh and Jacobi did an amazing job!! Definitely a Wellreadruby recommend!
Wow! CCJ hit me with a left and a right with this one. That's probably because I didn't read the blurb. Still haven't... But anywho. This book started off hot, hot, hot. And I thought this story was going in a certain direction. But then CCJ hit me with some cyber stalking and took off in a whole other direction from there. It was cray, cray CRAZY in the best way. And still hot, hot, hot. A bit of a slow burn... not physically, but emotionally. I loved it!
I'm so impressed with the diversity of CCJ's writing. She writes everything from rom-coms to uber romance to romantic thrillers loke this one, and PNR all with her own unique tone and voice. Clearly I'm a fan.
Do yourself a favor, go in blind on this one and enjoy the ride. Happy reading!
This was a book that I enjoyed. It had a good amount of suspense and a ton of plot twists. I liked the ending- did not see that coming! I liked how Wick and Monica connected and took their situation to a higher level. Wick knew he couldn’t resist Monica, lol!
This book was so good! This author delivered flawlessly engaging the readers immediately with an unrelentless and unapologetic chemistry between "Sandy" and "Wick". The suspense ramps up keeping me on the edge of my seat and just when I thought things were wrapped up more of the mystery unraveled and revealed itself. I have been putting off this read for a while and slightly mad that I did not read it sooner but yet grateful I saved the best for last. Romantic suspense are my favorite genre even moreso if it's Black Romantic suspense. I hope this author will come back to this because I am a huge fan.
3.5 ⭐️ Anonymous Acts is CCJ’s take on a romantic thriller. Though this is a well written story it is not one of my favorites. I frequently read thrillers so I know that genre is a big undertaking for writers who don’t typically do that. But CCJ is a genius so if anybody could do it. I think she did a good job of establishing characters that I cared about so there was buy in and the story had plenty of twists and turns. Unfortunately, I missed the thing that I love about CCJ’s stories, the love story. It is interesting that this book is connected to the If You Can series as those are the only other books of hers that I felt a bit of a disconnect with. Overall, it’s a good book, I just felt like it missed a bit of CCJ magic.
There were so many twists and turns in this story that kept me engaged the entire time. I love stories where the hero and heroine are mature adults because the sex between these two was hot! I also liked that we got to catch up with some favorites in the CCJ universe and the Five Star Enterprises crew.
Wesleigh and Jakobi's voice acting had me locked in every chapter of this book. Every time I thought I knew what was going on the story took on another twist that had me wanting more.
CCJ's pen is so masterful. I'm definitely restarting this story right now so I can take it all in again!
Many problems arise between Monica and her husband, Kelleen. She turned to an online friendship as “Sandy” with a man referred to as “Wick”. One day, things become chaotic when Sandy’s computer is hacked during a video call. From then on, so many mysterious events start to take place-is Wick who he portrays to be? Hmm...! This book was definitely a page turner!
