Wow! What these characters go through in the short time period this series covers is pretty crazy. They just can’t catch a break. I loved these flawed characters. I loved that nick was a prepper who wasn’t fully prepared. I think their actions were often what anyone would do to stay together as a group and stay alive. There were a few things that seemed a bit like they were being stupid but we can all be stupid at times every single day.
Narration was excellent.

The saga continues after Nick, Jessa and crew successfully defend their home against raiders. Even with that victory there is little time for rest. Nick forms an alliance with the Kiowa community of Los Gatos. The friendship brings a bounty of good will, happiness and trade goods. Jessa went off on her own quest to look for her friend Chris in Colorado. In another corner of the country, the virus continues to take victims and Matt Redmond finds himself all alone. Matt had just become a teenager, now he must find the courage to travel 800 miles to a lodge in New Mexico where he might find family and safety. This second installment is better in many ways than the previous one. The characters, story and narration are all well done. I look forward to the next volume. Tales of family

Great read. No cursing, no sex, just doing what they can to hold onto their humanity. I liked the characters, although I thought they all could use more fleshing out. Hair, eye colors, things that made them unique. Reading online books has often been accompanied by poor editing. This book had only one typo I saw. That's wonderful. You don't have to stop your train of thought to figure out what writer means? Ending had no real resolution. Would have liked to see them arrive at White Plaines. Maybe an epilogue would have done it. Year later how they are all doing. Questions left unanswered are vast but here are a couple. Why did Mia still need more epidemiology books? Did baby survive? Did they save seeds to grow more food? Do they form individual families inside the group.

Another great book from this gifted author. I really like the way the author keeps the story moving and never lets it stagnate. The characters are very well done and I especially like the 13 year old Matt. He is forced to live by his wits, but he has the goal in mind to find his uncle.
One of the characters makes a terrible mistake and yet is still a valued member of the group.
You’ll really like this story from a talented wordcrafter. I am already looking for more from Mr. Bowman.
I highly recommend this exciting book to any one who likes a thrilling story !

This is a continuation of the story begun in Fight to Survive. A few new members join the original group from Nick's lodge. These characters are intriguing, and although their adventures are generally predictable for the genre, The story is engaging.

Andrew Tell delivers a very satisfactory performance. His pacing is appropriate and his character voices are distinct enough to easily follow dialog.

This is the second book in the After the Outbreak series. My review of the first book wasn't great as the book was a bit slow and predictable. Unfortunately this second book is not as good as the first one.

The story is very slow and uneventful until near the end of the book when the survivors face down ruthless gang members. Even this single confrontation was quick and not engaging.

Presently there are only two books in this series, however, if there was a third I am not sure I would bother reading it.

The 2nd Novel of the Fight to Live/Denver Area

DB has penned the 2nd novel of After the Outbreak, which takes place predominately in Denver and Aspen, COL.. The survivors are beginning to form a family and are overcoming the hardships they encounter even though the elements of nature, crops, and dangerous humans subject them to constant turmoil and death. This is an excellent read for the genre.....ER

This second book was decent though somewhat predictable at the end. I could not understand how Nick and the others would not have worked hard to be ready to leave the lodge after getting ample warning of the approaching fire. Denial cost them dearly and can be deadly. And with 120,000 potential survivors in Denver, how can they be mostly gang members? I will read the next one to see where the main group ends up but hope it improves a little.

Great series

Right now I am on a post apocalyptic binge reading a lot with many authors and scenarios. I really liked where this series started and the pace of the story just draws you in. Lol, hard to find a place to stop where I wasn't so involved wanting to find out what happened next so I just kept reading.

A Thriller of a Second Book in the Series

The continuing journey for Nick and his group gets more complicated. They make new friends, encounter enemies who want their supplies and the women, and must leave their lodge because of a raging forest fire. Finding a safe place is difficult and left for the next book in the series. A fast paced enjoyable read!

Another great read

Once again, I am impressed. Another book avoids annoying stereotypes and infuriating editing issues! My only complaint is that I now have to wait for the next book for who knows how long! Argh!

The depth was missing

I enjoyed the book but I kept waiting for it to grab me but it never really did. I may read the next book but if I miss it I think I will survive also. The author did a better job than I could but it was still left wanting.

Much better than the first book in this series. Good enough that I'll read the next one that comes out. There was less useless dialog, more action, more originality, and more character development in this one - I liked it. 3.5/5

Fight

I think, in my opinion, that book 2 is better. They have focused, a game plan and things are looking up.
Makes a person wonder why gangs seem to thrive in apocalypse settings.

I'm loving this series. I have been listening to it on my iPod as I work out. It has kept my interest and the third book in the series has already been purchased and downloaded for me to start. Great book.

I loved this book. There are bits of it that are a bit slow but the rest makes up for it. Everything that has happened to them and is still happening and they still continue to get up and go at it again. It’s mostly a very good story with some bits that gets the pulse racing. It’s a 4 star and it’s certainly worth a read.

A deadly virus has taken the U.S. population back to 1825.

When I started this series it said 2 book series. Not exactly. Now I’m waiting for Book 3. A good read however.

The second book was even better than the 1st one. I am looking forward to the 3rd one. The more people than add to their group the more I love it.

Not to bad

I liked this book. I may buy the next one. They made some decisions a prepper would not think of, not in a good way. Still not bad for 2.99.

This series is fun, but missing twists and a great ending, I'm hoping book 3 is on it way.
The book is written in a movie style, and is very enjoyable.
Performance is perfectly done, my only problem is that there are parts that are very predictable but beside that it's easy on the brain so you can't not enjoy it.
So I have no problem recommending this series.
