Ewan is desperate to cut down the corn before it's too late and father and son fall into financial ruin. But his pa won't allow him to touch one of the fields, because he knows what lives within the corn. Something alive, watching them with their yellow eyes, waiting for the only hold that imprisons them to be cut away.

A short story of about 33 pages, no big surprises but I enjoyed the father/son interaction. Some genuine creepy moments, unfortunately the kindle edition is very poorly edited which removed me from the narrative quite a bit.
I'll certainly read more of his work.

Another great story from Mark Lumby, Lord of the Harvest is a quick read, entertaining from the outset, and genuinely creepy.

Book 3 of the Dewey 24 Hour Reading Marathon!

It had some creep factor, and suspense too. Always frustrating when no one wants to believe the main character!
